The food is fine. The service? Not so much. Multiple forgotten requests for drinks and water. The electronic ordering devices seem to confound the servers. The apparent manager appeared to be badgering the servers and running around - without any apparent effect on service. The menu is very basic. They stick to your usual pub selections. Brother Mikes is far more than a place to grab a drink and watch a ballgame. Premium cuts of meats are featured throughout the menu and there is enough variety to satisfy everyone in your group. TV's on the wall, and it is well lit. Very clean inside. You would be hard pressed to find a better sports bar on The Shoreline. read more

I was so excited to stumble upon a little hidden pub in town. I've been in CT for years and never heard of this place. The food was good and the place was cute with a nice vibe. The only bummer was the bartender was a bit curt and not really friendly - I love engaging and socializing when we go out but that was a bit offputting. This place is a favorite of mine. I like that it is laid-back, but a good place to go for quality food. Also a great spot to watch any sports game, as they have multiple TVs at the bar. Every time I go I say I should try something new, but I am simply hooked on the Chicken Gyro (so freakin good...). In the past I have also had the fish and chips, fish sandwich, and wedge salad with blackened salmon. All are seriously delicious. Nothing bad to say about this place.. great bar staff here, friendly and attentive. read more

The hamburger was very good but pricey. But my wife had one of the daily specials... lobster roll, fries and cole slaw. Result wasn't that good. As compared to other places along the shoreline, the lobster roll was small and the roll was cut all the way thru making it hard to hold in your hand. The fries were over cooked and soggy and very salty. Coldslaw was sweet. The bottom line, over priced and below average experience. read more

Ive been here a couple times since it has recently opened and I absolutely love it. For anyone who knew the bar by its previous name (Malones) the inside was completely renovated and looks great. It is much more open than before, and has some cool new features like outlets under the bar and even a wine tap. The menu is also different and I highly recommend the wings and any steak/beef dish. Overall a great atmosphere and a place I plan on spending a lot of time at this summer. read more

We tried it last night after reading. a review in our local paper. I hope they were having a bad night because it didn't live up to expectations. Service was very slow. Waited 15 minutes before seeing our waitress. She was not very cordial. My hamburger was good but the sweet potatoes fries were barely warm and rather limp. My husband had the meatball grinder which was good but also not hot. Food obviously sat a while before we got it. Like the atmosphere although was on the chilly side but did get warmer as more people filled the place. Be a great local spot but they need to improve the service and wait staff. read more

We had a great experience at this local joint. The service was pleasant and quick, the atmosphere was relaxing and clean, and the food was delicious. We had the bacon wrapped jalapeños for a starter; they were awesome. My wife had the Cobb salad and I had a buffalo chicken sandwich with blue cheese for entrees--both excellent. The fries were hand cut and perfectly fried with sea salt sprinkled on them. What really set this place apart was the fresh ingredients. We will be visiting again to check out the wings! read more

Pleasant surprise in an unexpected location. It may take a little know how to find this little gem, but it's worth turning on the navigation system. The decor, the cocktails, the food and the service were all above average. Especially the steaks. Even the coffee was really, really good. We NEVER review restaurants, but this is worth checking out. Our only negative comment would be that the name of the restaurant is a little off putting. It may have been better to just call it Mike's and explain the brother part in a paragraph on the menu. Had a build your own burger. Very tasty. Asked for medium well, got medium rare, but it was really busy as a home game night at Hand football. Bar staff very friendly and work at making customers feel like they're a regular at Cheers. Many tv's to watch sports. Nice changes to the place. This our first time going there since it changed owners. We walked in around 6:15 and was told there were two parties ahead of us. We went to bar and ordered a drink and waited for about 45 minutes. We saw tables being turned over and other people seated and when asked hostess she replied oh they had reservations! Then another party of 4 walked in and didn't have a reservation but seemed to know everyone in there and was seated next instead of us. I then asked the hostess about them sitting before us and she replied oh I didn't see u sitting there. We were literally sitting right in front of the hostess stand at the bar. . She was phoney and rude to us. We paid our bar tab and left and went to our home town restaurant chips pub to eat. Your hostess was rude and clearly sitting your locals ahead of people who waited over 45 minutes for a table. read more

The atmosphere looked promising. That's where it ended. Our waitress, who's 5th night it was, was the only one on duty. Managers/owners?, walking around not pitching in. No one asked how our meals were or why the 3 shrimp that came on my salad were still there with one bite out of one when she cleared our plates. The shrimp were not good. Very fishy and not grilled. (3 shrimp were how many I received when I added grilled shrimp to my salad) Booth seats are too far away from table. From my 13 year old to my husband, it was too far for everyone. I asked if the seat benches were movable, they are not There was a chunk of food on the floor by our table when we got there and it remained there our entire dining time. Some people came in and waited to be acknowledge for seating. After waiting around 5 minutes, they left. I was disappointed and unfortunately will not be back. read more

Very limited menu. Menus were filthy from previous customers-- they need to either laminate them or get new ones. Mostly sandwiches and salads for lunch. Had the wings-- buffalo and teriyaki. Got 2 orders because 1 order only has six wings in it-- kind of small for an appetizer, especially when you're sharing. I had the burger-- it was cooked perfectly -- medium rare and very good. Fries are hand cut but you have to pay a $2 up charge to get them instead of chips. My husband had the pork sandwich-- he thought it was good. The food was very good and there was nothing wrong with the service-- we were the only ones there eating so we got served very quickly. I'm only giving them a 3 because I feel like I got nickel and dimed to death. Bill came to $48 for 2 sandwiches, 2 sodas, and 2 wings. read more

I was drawn in by the Mon-Fri specials listed on their website, only to discover that they don't really do that (?!?) My wife and I ordered dinner anyway, the food was good, service was good. It was not loud, the music on the sound system was set very low, so people could easily talk over it. I just can't rate higher than a 3 when drawn in on false pretenses. read more
