Being from New York I am very picky with my pizza. But Brothers Pizzeria has exceeded my expectations! This truly is New York pizza. They sell by the slice or can buy a pie. They do make the pies fresh. They are also opened late so if you need a late fixing Brothers is your best bet! Everyone is very friendly and helpful as soon as you walk in which I loved! They are located downtown and you can order to pick up also!

We've had Brother's Pizza on our radar for quite some time. Even more so since Slice of Napoli closed in early 2023, because there just aren't many places to get Sicilian pizza in the Triad. Based on other Yelper's reviews we knew Brother's offered a Sicilian pizza as well as other styles and we were eager to try. However, we thought their hours were limited to opening at 4pm and since they are located downtown it just hadn't worked out for us to stop in. Today, we decided to check out Brother's before we went to the races at Bowman Gray. Brother's is located on Fourth Street, almost at the corner of Fourth and Cherry Streets and amongst an area of other restaurants and bars. Street parking is limited and somewhat hard to find depending on the time of day so we opted to park in the parking garage on Cherry Street between Fourth and Fifth. It's fairly convenient to park and stop in but we commented it would be harder if simply picking up an order to go. One thought we had was for one of us to drop the other off and circle the block while the other retrieves the pizza. This is likely what we will do for to-go orders in the future. We were fortunate enough to be able to talk with Mike, one of the owners. We learned their family is originally from the Naples area of Italy. Mike's parents eventually moved to the US and settled in New Jersey for a number of years before coming to North Carolina. We enjoyed chatting with Mike and he was very helpful in telling us more about the pizza options. We were excited to learn they offer slices of their various styles, Sicilian, Grandma (a thinner type Sicilian crust), NY style and a stuffed crust. Customers can then customize their slices with various toppings. Of course, whole pies are available as well. Brother's also offers an array of appetizers, salads, hot and cold subs, calzones, strombolis and desserts. We also learned they recently began opening prior to 4pm which we were really excited to hear. I've submitted their updated hours to Yelp to help others: Monday: Closed Tuesday through Thursday: 11am-2pm and 4pm-12am Friday and Saturday: 11am-2pm and 4pm-3am Sunday: 4-10pm We ended up ordering three slices, I ordered two of the Sicilian with sausage and pepperoni and my wife ordered one of the Grandma slices with mushrooms and chicken. She also ordered a small mixed salad with romaine lettuce instead of iceberg and their homemade ranch dressing. We took a seat at one of the tables and watched as a steady stream of customers came in to either pick up to-go orders or place orders to eat there. Mike delivered our food to the table and stated they prepare all orders in to go containers. We opened up the containers and everything looked delicious! It's been so long since I've had a piece of Sicilian pizza and it tasted oh so amazing. We both really enjoyed our meals. Our only suggestions would be that they determine a way to offer dine in customers with non to-go containers and real silverware instead of plastic. The other would be to use fresh mushrooms. But honestly, for us it is still a five star experience. We will absolutely be back!

Seriously I've you have not tried them yet do it now. They recently closed their other restaurant on Peace Haven (Whitaker Square Pizza) to focus on the downtown location. Just a bunch of really cool Italians making tasty food! This night we had the meat lovers, hot chips and a couple slices of Sicilian.

If you find yourself in DTWS and want a slice (or even a whole pizza), I would recommend Brother's Pizzeria, a family-owned and operated eatery. My wife and I visited on a Saturday afternoon. I had walked by many times, but on this occasion, we decided to grab a quick lunch. There are plenty of booths to sit at, and the staff (all family from Naples, Italy) were very friendly. We each ordered a slice of pizza, which was massive, along with a soda. We sat and talked to one of the owners. The pizza was wonderfully cooked in the foldable style that I love. The sauce on my Buffalo Chicken pizza was creamy and tasty. I enjoyed every piece, even the crust, which I usually hand over to my wife, who loves those left-over crunchy pieces. I would definitely recommend Brother's Pizzeria and hopefully will be back soon.

Great pizza in one of the few places in downtown Winston-Salem that serves after 9 PM on weeknights. Closed on Mondays... But open till midnight Tuesday through Thursday open till 3 AM Friday and Saturday and 4 to 10 PM on Sunday.

They really nail their Sicilian pizza here.

I've definitely been missing what was my favorite pizza place in Winston-Salem, A Slice of Napoli, lately. But, I am so glad that Brother's Pizzeria exists because they are able to provide a pizza that is right up there with some of Daniel's greatest hits! Particularly the Sicilian style pizza for me... was something that SoN was amazing at, and is kind of rare to find in the Triad. Well at Brother's, you won't miss a bit if you love a good Sicilian, and they are open late. I also love that all prices include sales tax, and the totals always come up to nice round numbers. Not to mention, if you are looking for that true NY pizza vibe, you'll find it here. If you didn't know you were in the south, you'd swear you were in the Bronx. The key is an excellent pizza sauce recipe, and perfect texture on the crust. It's a little buttery and crispy, but pillowy underneath. My favorite toppings are pepperoni and mushroom, but on my most recent visit, I got half with pep and pineapple as well. I was afraid to do pineapple on a sicilian, but honestly the additional oven time just made the pineapple that much better. Leftovers galore, and for those who know, leftover Sicilian is THE best leftover pizza. I'll continue to come to Brother's when I need my Sicilian fix, and probably for any other pizza craving that hits.

When Midnight hunger strikes, I've got just the spot for you! piping hot pizzas straight out of the oven, loaded with your favorite toppings and oozing with cheese. It's a haven for pizza enthusiasts and late-night snackers alike. Not only do they serve up the freshest pizzas in town, but they also have your favorite appetizers that will make your taste buds jump. From crispy garlic knots to mouthwatering Jalapeños poppers, their appetizers are the perfect prelude to the main event: the pizza extravaganza! they're open late. Did I mention that already? Lol.. ready to satisfy your midnight cravings whenever they strike. So whether you're craving a classic pepperoni pizza or a specialty white pizza, they got you covered, and for my ranch lovers, they got that good ranch lol. If I could change, just one thing is that they have orders y the slice at night, thats only available during the day now. Next time, hunger strikes after hours, though, skip the microwave meals, and head straight to this pizza place in DTWS. To me, their pizzas are great, delicious appetizers, and the best part the late-night availability - what more could you ask for? Your taste buds will thank you!

Should have stopped in here a long time ago. Love that you can buy by the slice. Pizza was way better than i would have guessed. Better than Marios and elizabeths in my opinion. Crust was just a little bit thicker than i prefer but was cooked to perfection. Good crisp with a slight char. Owner seems like a pretty cool dude and we were served quickly. Also gave us free water bottles which was much appreciated

The best pizza in Winston. I say this as an ex NYCer, this pizza is legit. Walk in and hit with smells of garlic and crust. The pizza is 'Jersey style' (not something I've been familiar with) but by suggestion of the owner we go easy on the cheese and well done crust, and you've got a stunning NYC pizza. The crust, crisp and foldable love. The sauce? Homemade. The cheese? Perfection. Get wild and get some garlic knots. The place itself is a low key pizza place: nothing fancy and it's counter service-fantastic but again, go for the pizza, nothing else!

Pizza was small, cold and not very many toppings for a $21+ 12 inch pizza. It took far longer to be delivered than the estimate.

It was busy and bustling, a bit noisy, packed spaced. We were waited on my Evie who was an absolute gem, available and professional. I ordered a special taco plate with fish that was beer battered. The tacos were pretty good: pickled onions, an amazingly flavorful orange sauce. The fish was somewhat bland and kind of mushy in the middle. The rest was good. Salsa bar, guac, and chips were tasty. I also had a fresh limeade that was great. I would come back, especially for the service.

Blackberry sage had a muddled, interesting flavor to it. Think wine-y but not quite that either. The mixed berry needed more berry flavor but was okay. Lavender was best out of all, but it was teetering on sickly, almost had too much lavender syrup. For entrees, I ordered the puffy Pete chicken tacos. They came out with crema on it when I ordered it on the side, but it was quickly rectified. The portion was good. I was full by the end. The flavor was okay. Chicken cooked fine. But it didn't have much of a sweet heat kick to it without the jalapeños added. Overall, I wouldn't necessarily get it again when we go back. My fiancé ordered the Houston beef puffy taco. He thought the taco was very filling. It had meat falling out of it, which was good. It tasted like a typical ground beef taco. He hoped the chorizo would elevate it, but it didn't. It was similar to a Taco Bell beef taco. Overall, decent tacos, and it helped that it was big for the price. We want to visit again, but we'll try other menu items and stick with water. The music was fine. Country and nothing stuck out. Service was fine. She kept only giving a small amount of napkins for a messy dish, which was a bit annoying, but she was very helpful answering our questions for our first time. So she was overall helpful and pleasant.

Housed in a former Coca-Cola bottling plant, Grandpa Joe's pays homage to the site's history through its red and black décor. The menu offers salads, floats, and soft serve though pizza is the star attraction. It is served by the rectangular slab (about $8 per). Order at the counter, grab a number for your table, and wait for the oven to work its magic. For our first visit, my wife and I split a trio of slabs -- an Italian sausage, a mushroom, and a tomato and burrata -- with a side of marinara. All three were excellent. The focaccia crusts were crispy while still retaining airiness. From melty mozzarella to savory, fennel-forward sausage, Grandpa Joe's uses high-quality ingredients. The marinara was good: bright, fresh, and just a bit sweet. The mushroom slab came topped with arugula and shaved parmesan. Despite seeming like a gimmick (pizza? Salad? Why not both?), it proved an effective combination: the arugula's bitterness played well with the mushrooms' earthy flavors. There will be a certain type of pizza connoisseur for whom anything that isn't New York style is, by definition, fraudulent. For those with horizons broad enough to enjoy a thicker crust, Grandpa Joe's is the best of that kind that I've found in the Triad.

If you're in Winston-Salem and you're looking for pizza that's a little different from the usual, this place deserves a visit. We'll definitely be back to work our way through the rest of the menu.
