I've tried brown sugar milk tea at other places, but they just don't compare to the one at Brown cup boba! The added crème brûlée adds an amazing texture and taste! The service here is always pleasant, the staff is always nice and efficient. Not only is the staff great, Brown Cup is located at the Steel Craft in bellflower, so I get to enjoy my drink while enjoying some music. There's good food here too incase I get hungry. SERVICE- The owners, Steve and Sunny, are very personable and attentive, especially Sunny who specifically helped me and took the time to thoroughly and passionately explain each drink and the intensive process that goes into making all the drinks. DRINKS- I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the drinks, specifically the quality of the tea brewed rather than it just being overly sugary beverages that is typically seen with all the boba shops that have been popping up lately. Their sugar syrup is made in house and actually takes up to two hours to make each day. This difference is what makes their drinks perfectly sweetened without additional customization, although you can still customize drink sweetness to your liking. My personal favorites were the lavender milk tea and matcha strawberry milk. PASSION FRUIT ICED JASMIN GREEN TEA WITH PASSION FRUIT POPPING BOBA- This drink has a unique texture with the popping boba. Some places have passion fruit but it tastes artificial, but this is fairly true to the original fruit flavor. Very refreshing with a nice balance of tea to sweetness ratio. BROWN SUGAR CREME BRULEE- This drink is made with two different sugars to get the pretty gradation. It has a very rich, pure, and decadent brown sugar flavor. The crème brûlée makes it tastes like flan in a drink form. When shaken and mixed, it makes the frothy milk taste lightly sweetened and delicious. A sweet but non-caffeine option for kids! MANGO SMOOTHIE WITH MANGO JELLY- This drink is very light, tangy, fruity and refreshing with a strong mango flavor. The owners are very particular with getting the smoothie consistency to perfection, so if it's 100% they will remake again. A fun fruity flavor for kids! HOUSE MILK TEA WITH BOBA- This drink has slight bitter undertones with a dark earthy brown sugar flavor. The tea flavor is strong with a hint of sweetness. The boba texture is the right amount of bite and chewiness. Tastes like traditional Hong Kong style milk tea. LAVENDER MILK TEA- This drink is lightly sweetened with brown sugar with noticeable lavender flavor and the milk is super frothy. It is a twist on a classic drink that you can't go wrong with. THAI MILK TEA- This drink has a bright and distinctive orange hue and the taste is more similar to a traditionally sweetened Thai tea from Thailand. The tea is brewed to perfection and it's not overly reliant on sweetener, allowing the tea itself to truly shine. It is a good choice if you want a strong tea that's not too sweet at all. MATCHA COCONUT MILK- This drink has a very strong matcha flavor that balanced with a nutty and pure coconut milk aroma. Don't shake this drink! Good choice if you're looking for a non sugary strong tea flavor. MATCHA STRAWBERRY MILK- This drink is my personal favorite with the strawberry milk. It reminds me of Nestle strawberry milk with an adult spin due to the matcha. Don't shake this drink either! Good if you want something sweeter and with a pretty color gradient for social media. MACARONS- The presentation of the macarons is beautiful and perfect for events at SteelCraft without having to plate them yourself. I like that they use a local French supplier and offer so many options (dozens!) every single day. Usually at bakeries or cafes you only see a couple of options per day. For an extra $10, they will decorate and plate the macarons for you with flowers or even a happy birthday sign. read more

I ordered a "coconut milk tea" which I thought would be milk tea with coconut flavoring, but when I got it I was confused by its pure white color. I was in a rush so I had to leave, but I called and was told that I was just drinking a very expensive cup of whole milk with some coconut powder and boba. My question then is why are they calling it "coconut milk tea" if there's absolutely no tea in it? Maybe I should've asked more questions before ordering, but I will not be finishing it and I will not be returning. read more

Got the Strawberry Matcha. It is so GOOD, doesn't have that overly sweet taste some matcha has, such as the Starbucks kind. Love the area it's located in. The girl who helped me out was so nice. I got the matcha coconut milk tea and it was DELICIOUS! The woman was right about the slightly bitter & earthy matcha paired with the sweet coconut milk. Don't mix it!! I drank it in 5 seconds. Dont drive by too fast or Youll miss it! Brown Cup Boba is located in a multivendor campus made of shipping containers. There is a small window facing the street and they can also be found inside of Steel Craft. (Such a great idea!) This place has live music, food, beer, wine and some others in the square! The employees were very kind and graciously let us pick all of our flavors. You can do 6 or 12. In my opinions 6 is enough. Salted caramel was my favorite and the orange chocolate was my least favorite. The only issue is the consistency of each macaron was different. One was crunchy, while others we soft and moist. Regardless they were all wonderful. I believe they outsource and do not make them here. But If you live in the area and have a sweet tooth, this is the perfect place to go! NEW boba spot tucked into the Bellflower location of Steelcraft, which has been around for a while. A refreshing addition to the other tenants! I got the matcha coconut milk tea at 25% sugar. No boba, so I can't say anything about that. It was a lot less sweet than I expected (even at 25%), so I think I'd get this at 50% sugar next time. If you're like me and typically get 25%-30% sugar at your typical boba chain store, I'd suggest this too. However that let the drink's flavor shine, and it was still a great drink. It tastes like REAL coconut/coconut milk which I appreciate, and the matcha was nice and strong earthy taste, not bitter. I'd say a 9/10, would be a 10/10 if I had picked 50% sugar. If this wasn't so out of the way for me, I'd probably find myself coming back more than once a week. Give it a try and support your small, family-run businesses in the community. read more

Sweet little boba shop at steelcraft Bellflower. They have a streetside kiosk and an indoor kiosk. The menu consists of drink and macarons. They specialize in brown sugar drinks. I got the strawberry slush with boba. They used fresh strawberries for the drink. Sadly, boba ran out by the time they had to make my drink. A little sad, but fair because their store was extremely busy! I ultimately ended up opting for coconut jelly, and the owner was kind enough to offer me a free drink the next time I came for the inconvenience. They were super sweet. Like their boba. Although they don't have a lot of option like many other boba place but their selection are the good one. Only downside is sometime when they busy, drinks can take awhile longer than most boba shop. But it because they want to make your drink very good which I can understand. Mom n pop shop always get me . Their price is around $6-7. Hard to find parking sometime. I like that they give you a pager so when your drink ready you will get notify - SMART! Located in Steelcraft Bellflower, this boba shop was nice to visit at night especially with all the hanging lights. Friendly and timely service but the drinks were disappointing in my opinion. I ordered the matcha coconut and my sister the strawberry matcha. The coconut milk overpowered my drink so I couldn't taste the matcha and my sister's strawberry matcha just tasted like artificial strawberry syrup. It's my 4th time at Brown sugar Boba. The first 3 times were great! Today I stopped by to get a drink on my break and the person at the counter was on the phone, I don't mind things like this but he really was not paying attention to my order. I asked for a Thai tea and asked if they can add brown sugar syrup and it clearly made him uneasy. Not sure why, I just wanted to add some extra syrup to my drink and was willing to pay extra if need be but he then said that the owner does not allow it. Which is ok but he made me uncomfortable because it seemed my request upset him. I just left. I suggest better customer service. I absolutely love this place!!! If you're a matcha fan, look no further! When I first saw this place, I was honestly a little skeptic, especially with the menu being a little limited, however, I am so glad I gave it a try! I have tried the matcha green tea, matcha coconut and matcha strawberry, which are all very good! I like that the drinks are not overly sweet which makes it refreshing. I do get it 75% sweet though. this shop is hidden within the steelcraft beer garden, so it may be easy to miss if you aren't paying attention. i visited at night and loved the ambiance of the place, there's open seating including couch swings and benches, and stringed lights throughout the vicinity. the garden also has a large screen playing sports games, a little arcade (although most of the games seemed to be malfunctioning or out of order), and a coffee shop as well as some food options. this seems like a great place to visit in a group! the man and woman working when i visited seemed to be the owners, and they were very kind and had great customer service! i ordered a matcha with boba and almond milk, but i didn't specify my sweetness level. after i got my drink, i found it to not be as sweet as i would've liked, so i kindly asked if it was possible to make it sweeter and the man working was very polite while he was adjusting my drink! he even told me to stay after he adjusted it and try it first to see if i wanted him to make it even sweeter. their matcha quality is very good, you can tell they use real japanese matcha powder that is a higher quality. as someone who drinks lots of matchas, the quality was very obvious to me in the color and taste. if you're a big matcha fan then give this place a try! the boba itself was also nice and chewy without being too tough, which i enjoyed. i typically don't enjoy macarons, however i read another review that said they also don't typically enjoy it but the macarons here were very good, so my friend and i both tried one each. i was impressed with the wide variety of unique flavors they had. i got the red velvet while my friend got the blueberry lavender. i loved the texture of the macarons, they were nice and soft and just the right amount of sweetness. if you enjoy macarons, you'd probably love the ones here. i also loved the nice packaging they had. overall, this place is definitely worth a visit! i'll be giving this place another go to try their brown sugar matcha one day. read more
