First time I tried this place a few months ago it took 1.5 hours for us to get our food and then, somehow 3 out of the 4 meals were cold. My MIL was not having it so we left without me even trying my food (mine was the only fresh meal). Came back to try the sandwich I wanted to try months ago (the very gouda), and it wasn't really worth the return visit. Always great food, outstanding staff and overall great experience! Highly recommend this restaurant for a new twist on southern favorites.

Issue #1: We were sat approx 1:50pm, our server checked on us once before we were ready to order. My friend ordered Chicken & Waffles and was told they don't make the waffles after 2pm, (it was 2:03) then went on to say they let the waffle iron cool before they close at 3pm. Sounded bogus, but if that's the way they do it, this should be noted next to the item on the menu PLUS, since we were there before 2pm, before taking our order, it should have been pointed out that something was not available due to the time. Very frustrating. Issue #2: it's a BIGGIE! My friend was facing the kitchen, since he works in the restaurant business near Atlanta, he makes a point to observe the kitchen workers when he can see them, to see if they are adhering to ServSafe requirements. If you aren't familiar with ServSafe, it's a certification for employees who serve food with regard to safety measures like wearing gloves when handling food, washing hands between tasks, storing food at the correct temperature, storing boxes of food not on the floor, etc. Two of the kitchen workers were seen handling food without wearing gloves. One of them then got a broom and swept the floor in the food prep area, then went back to handling food WITHOUT washing his hands and, again, not putting on gloves before directly touching food to be served to customers. This situation is unacceptable. Period. We will not go back. read more

Visited this delightful spot when visiting my son over the weekend. When we arrived, there were a few people waiting, lots of smiles, and a wide variety of age groups. This is typically a sign that you're in a good place. We sat at the bar, and had a couple of bartenders attending to our needs. They helped us pick items off the menu, and I was able to sample Carrollton's only local brewery on tap. Food arrived promptly, and was truly tasty and fresh. Highly recommend! read more

This is not a typical small town restaurant. The place locally sources items where it is reasonable and their food is typically spot on. Like most places they are struggling with staffing but they keep the tables moving still. My biggest recommendation for eating here is to be adventurous. The menu is small in comparison to some other places but it is well crafted. Don't be the person who comes here and orders a stripped down burger. Get the macaroni and cheese bbq sandwich. Read the menu and if something sounds like it could be good, it's probably terrific. If I could give it six stars I would. We ventured into Carrollton after a day of zip lining at nearby by Banning Mills and we were thrilled to find this place to eat lunch. We knew it was going to be a good place when just by perusing in the menu displayed outside the front door we saw multiple things we would want to eat, but would only be able to choose one menu item each. As an appetizer we ordered the truffle parmesan fries with lemon aoli dipping sauce. They were about as perfect as a food can get. The fries were fresh cut and fried to golden, crispy perfection, the Parmesan was fresh shaved along with fresh chopped parsley. The lemon aoli dipping sauce was amazing. I got a burger special that was based on their short ribs and macaroni and cheese sandwich (you read that right...sandwich). The bonus was they made it into a hamburger. It was utterly awesome. My girl got a pita special that had turkey, strawberries, cream cheese, goat cheese, and arugula. She reported that it was one of the tastiest things "in the history of ever." We love trying new places so when our team decided upon this new hipster looking restaurant I was excited. Since there was a slight misunderstanding about the reservation we had to wait which led me to be rather hungry. That said don't judge on how much food I consumed hence forth. I started with the boiled peanut hummus which scared me to order, but was amazing. I loved how they gave you 3 choices pork rines, grilled French bread, and a cornbread like cake to use for dipping. Our friends got the collard "sin" dip. I also wasn't sure how I'd feel about a collard dip, but it too was delightful. Melted to perfection complementing the grilled French bread nicely. Next I simply couldn't decide on what to order so I settled with the Macintosh and the French dip. Ok ok I had half of one and my sister had half of mine. Both were great. The French dip was pretty salty, but I actually liked it better than the Macintosh. Sides are not included so I opted for fries and my sister got the potato salad. The fries are your traditional home cut deliciousness. Potato salad is such a "depending on how you were raised" type of thing that my sister didn't like it nor anyone else at the table, but I loved it. It isn't traditional so order it with an open mind. All that food was filling, but I peeked ahead and saved room for the moon pie banana pudding. Yes I said moon pie. Everyone else was full so I enjoyed this fav all by myself minus one or 2 bites from my friends. All though the dish looks small at a glance it is plenty I promise. So why not 5 stars?
