Brown Paper Bag is located on H street. The restaurant is open from 11-7 Wednesday through Sunday. There is also a small coffe shop in the front of building. l decided to try out the shrimp platter as I am not a huge fish person. The shrimp platter comes with a piece of bread and one side. I opted for the hush puppies. I also ordered the Mac and cheese and a side of fries. The shrimp were huge. They were seasoned well and had a nice crunch. The hush puppies reminded me of something that I would find down south. There were a few pieces of corn in the hush puppies. The fries were well seasoned too. The Mac and cheese was good but there was no cheese pull.

The fried whiting and fries was too good. Seasoned to perfection fried hard. Since it's inside a food hall the place is convenient and busy. Service was quick not really direct since you place order yourself and they just hand you your stuff. But, that's not a problem if you looking for a carry out type style. Food was good so no complaints.

I got the 2pc whiting special and side for $14.99 and a side of shrimp. The fish wasn't seasoned! They did give me 3pcs which was a plus but I'm wondering if they were just trying to get rid of old fish??? My food was ready in less than 5 minutes. The shrimp were seasoned, I'd get them again. And the coleslaw was perfectly creamy it just lacked that hint of sweetness. I also think it's sad they charge for hot sauce. It's fish, hot sauce goes on fish!!! Lol I asked for an itemized receipt but gave me the attached print out. The total cost was $25.83. I wish this was a better turnout, I really do!!!

You can tell by eating the food that the person in the kitchen loves to cook and he/she puts a lot of love into the cooking of the food.

The kiddies menu WITH a coloring section on the back. And the server strapped the kiddies seat to the chair; didn't just plop it down and walk away. Child's meal arrived first so they could get started, then parent could enjoy their meal with ease. The ATTENTION TO DETAIL was beyond. Aesthetically fitting (non-plastic) changing station in the restroom. We were a table of 10 and the tables pushed together without wobble; my plate sat flat straddling 2 tables. Was the floor leveled perfectly or did staff shim the tables to perfection. I don't know, but I've never experienced that level of perfection before.

I've been wanting to visit for years and so I was really looking forward to finally making it in. Upon arrival we were able to get a seat at the bar immediately. We were greeted right away and the bartender provided his recommendations. Here's everything we enjoyed and didn't enjoy as much ... + IPA beer-- really delicious $6 + oyster rockefeller-- didn't really taste the oyster and they were tiny + fries--- not crispy enough and could use a little more flavor/salt + lamb chops-- also just ok, small and only had 2 pieces with a small salad +butter lettuce cesar-- meh, nothing to really rave about + smashburger-- 3/5 we were told that the locals rave about their smashburger as one of the best in town buttttt idk about all that lol. I think what I didn't really like was the onion on it. Overall I would give Primrose another try. I love the neighborhood, local feel. It was very busy in here when we stopped by. I would try more of their wines and a couple other items on the menu.

An Elegant Breakfast Spot with Wonderful Staff (Just Mind the Checkout)…read moreThe Atmosphere & First Impressions High-End Finishes: The restaurant is beautifully designed with high-end finishes, creating a very upscale environment. Impeccably Clean: Upon arriving, we immediately noticed how clean and well-maintained the entire space was. Warm Welcome: The hostess was incredibly kind and set a great tone for our breakfast. The Food & Service Fantastic Menu: The menu offers a wonderful assortment of options. We were originally drawn in because we were excited to try their homemade Pop-Tart! Accommodating & Kind: Our waiter was a very nice gentleman. The kitchen was more than happy to make small adjustments to our orders for dietary needs, which we deeply appreciated. Kudos to the Staff: The waitstaff does a phenomenal job, especially considering the clientele. This area tends to attract a lot of pompous professionals, and we witnessed customers being incredibly rude to the staff on two back-to-back visits. A Note on the Crowd: For example, we were in on a Thursday afternoon and watched a large group of business professionals completely ignore their server. They wouldn't even acknowledge them or say thank you. It felt like olden times, where the staff were treated like servants to a king or queen and were just expected to take abuse. It was really bad. A Quick Note on the Checkout Process Rushed Payment: The payment process felt a bit rushed. The server hands you a small payment machine and quickly pushes you to complete the transaction right then and there. Keep an Eye Out: We aren't the type of people to scrutinize a bill closely--if it's right around the expected amount, we don't worry about it. However, the lady at the table right before us was loudly complaining about a service fee on her bill, and she ended up not leaving a tip at all because of it. Combined with how fast they push the payment machine on you, it might be worth taking a quick second to look over your total if you are the type of person who likes to verify the fine print. Come on people, do better! Overall Impression It is an expensive spot, but the food quality, cleanliness, and excellent service from the waitstaff make it worth a visit. The staff handles a tough crowd beautifully!

Somehow, I had only been to this place during the winter time, but it is a completely different vibe during the warmer months. The outdoor space is stunning, and everything just feels brighter and happier. The staff are really nice, the patrons are enjoying themselves, and they just have excellent food. My friend and I happen to come during this fashion show event so there were complimentary hors d'oeuvres for everybody present, but we still ordered delicious deviled eggs (I could've eaten a whole tray of them) and had some great cocktails. You know, for the first time ever, I paid attention to a bunch of board games that they have on a shelf. But based on the stuff that's on the shelf in front of them, I am not 100% sure that they are up for grabs, but it still looks cool. Anyone who is in this area should definitely pay them a visit. You won't regret it.

My friend and I showed up for a late lunch, and after I stood waiting for service for almost five minutes, the bartender finally came closer to me and said the kitchen was closed. She had been looking at me the entire time and didn't say anything or try to signal to me, so I found her behavior pretty rude. Also, I had previously visited this restaurant for happy hour and found the food and service to be average.

Google led me to Ted's, which is both a sit-down restaurant, but also a cafe/bakery in the front. I had an iced Americano, and asked for a tiny, tiny splash of half & half. I also had a strawberry "poptart". The "poptart" was pretty good. When my coffee came out, it was white. Literally, white. It was whiter than the iced chai latte with whole milk that my husband had gotten. I had to send it back. I asked for it just black this time around, because I just didn't trust them to get "a splash" right. They were willing to do it, which was nice. The coffee was good, but it just wasn't what I had originally wanted.
