I had a few of y'all jump in my inbox about this spot! I've ridden by here several times, today, I noticed it, & decided to go in!! It's that simple...LET'S GO!! . Where I am: @fishkingjerkchicken . Location Reviewed: 403 Rhode Island Ave., N.E. Washington D.C. . Items Reviewed: STAMP!! Their Jerk Chicken Platter ($12 with jerk chicken wings, rice n peas, & cabbage). Flavorful mild jerk sauce, nicely seasoned cabbage, & tasty rice with extra jerk sauce on it!! STAMP!! Their Drinks ($5 for their house made Sorrel, $7 for their house made Soursop). That was the BEST soursop I've ever had!! STAMP both of these drinks!! LIKE THAT! Their Sausage, Egg, & Cheese ($8 pork sausage, & a fried egg with cheese on coco bread). A classic taste, with that soft coco bread!! STAMP!! Their Curry Goat Platter ($16 stewed curry goat with peppers, rice n peas, & cabbage). Tender, well seasoned goat meat, & again tasty cabbage, & rice!! STAMP!! I got the oxtail, greens (which I asked was it callaloo and he said yes) rice and peas and jerk wings. The Spanish guy was by himself and didn't speak English to well, but he was really nice. I didn't like the fact that he used the same glove to take our money, make food, move boxes, take the other guys credit card, scoot the rice that was about to fall off the plate back into the plate and put the food in the microwave. The place was quite dirty looking and stuff all over the place. No organization!!! The mac looked as if it were from Thanksgiving, the cabbage was dry as the desert. And did you really make my food, put it in the microwave and we have a staring contest until it's done?! Lol Now the oxtail had an enormous amount of fat. Now, I don't mind a little fat on my oxtail, but they didn't bother cleaning it at all. Smh The wings weren't bad either. The place has potential, it really does. It just seems like, that day, nobody cared about the business or the quality of food they were serving. Whomever is the owner should know that the experience a customer receives is a direct reflection of them.

Breakfast was horrible! Bacon hard and chewy! Stop re-heating and cook fresh! Scrambled eggs with cheese, could hardly taste cheese! French toast okay!

Whiting platter. 3 big pieces of fish, potato salad, and home fries.

Had been wanting to come by for a long time, but their hours aren't very extensive. Happened to be walking home before lunch and got the chance to swing by. Don't be fooled by the name, they serve much more than fish! I got the whiting platter and it was made to order. After tax it came out to be $10.99, which was such an awesome deal On weekends they don't have the full sides menu, and my options were either fries, home fries, potato salad, grits, or eggs. It would've been nice to get vegetables, but that's not a deal breaker for me. The fish was super fresh and the oil it was fried in didn't taste old. I also got 3 big pieces, which was a lot! Potato salad is like a korean potato salad, so no large potato chunks, less tangy, and a little more sweet--I dig it! The home fries were thinner potato pieces, not the cubed potatoes you get some times. Tartar sauce is also sweeter, but I enjoyed it. I think I could've shared this and would have been satisfied ha ha They have a variety of breakfast items from French toast, pancakes, breakfast sandwiches, and even wraps. Everything here is extremely reasonably priced and I definitely plan on coming back, just wish they were open for dinner!

Fish-King is a mom and pop, family-run business that offers breakfast and lunch. It's a smaller restaurant so only takeout is available. I stopped by for the first time to try them out for breakfast and was highly pleased with the food. You can call ahead and place an order but because it was my first time I went in to order. There was a bit of a line when I arrived but the service was fairly quick so I didn't wait too long. For food, I tried the veggie omelet, which comes with mushroom, green pepper, onion, tomatoes and cheese (no onion or tomato for me), toast, and grits. Though a fairly simple meal, it was cooked to perfection -- just the right amount of toppings and seasoning. My friend tried the bacon, egg, and cheese on croissant and it came with grape jelly on it. Me mentioned that he wish they hadn't added the grape jelly. Overall, I would certainly return for breakfast or to even try them out for lunch. If you're over on or near Rhode Island Ave, be sure to stop by to support this small business!

The moment the banchan (Korean side dishes) arrived and we took our first bites, we knew we'd stumbled upon an outstanding Korean restaurant. Every side dish is prepared authentically and tastes fantastic. Our first main dish to come out was kimchi fried rice with beef. While it isn't made using a fully traditional Korean method, it was absolutely delicious -- easily the best kimchi fried rice I've had in the past few years. We also ordered their signature pork and potato stew. It was excellent; the chili flavour was smooth, and every ingredient was wonderfully seasoned. Our server was incredibly polite and friendly, and we were happy to leave a tip for them. We plan to come back tomorrow evening, but unfortunately, our server told us they might not be working then. This Korean restaurant is highly recommended. If you're staying nearby or travelling in Washington DC, I'd strongly suggest stopping by to enjoy their wonderful Korean food.

However, when we walked in and saw only a couple of tables occupied, I had a feeling it might not live up to its appearance. Unfortunately, that feeling turned out to be justified once we looked at the menu and tasted the food. Overall Ratings Atmosphere - 4/5 Service - 3/5 Food - 1/5 Parking - Street Parking Atmosphere - The restaurant is modern, clean, and well maintained. The dining room is attractive and comfortable, and it feels much more upscale than your average Korean restaurant. Service - Service was adequate. Nothing stood out as particularly good or bad. The staff took our order, brought out the food, and checked on us occasionally. What We Ordered - -Galbi - At over $40, this was by far the most disappointing dish of the meal. I've had galbi at countless Korean restaurants, many of which charge under $30 while delivering significantly better flavor and quality. The seasoning was noticeably different from what I'm accustomed to, and not in a good way. For the price, it felt extremely underwhelming. -Pa Jeon - Just okay. It was a standard Korean pancake that didn't stand out in any particular way. -Tofu Stew - We ordered it mild, but it was surprisingly spicy and excessively salty. The saltiness overwhelmed most of the other flavors in the dish. -Korean Fried Chicken - Unfortunately, this suffered from the same issue. The chicken itself was decent, but it was far too salty, making it difficult to enjoy. Final Thoughts - The biggest issue for me was the value. Nearly every dish felt overpriced for the quality being served, and the excessive saltiness across multiple items made the meal even more disappointing. While the restaurant looks great and has a modern atmosphere, the food simply did not justify the prices. Considering how many excellent Korean restaurants I've been to over the years, this was one of the more disappointing experiences. Unfortunately, I wouldn't return.

For $45 per person, the all-you-can-eat experience feels like a really solid deal considering how many protein options and side dishes you get. They start you off with a variety of banchan (side dishes), including a salad with this super tasty dressing that had the perfect little spicy kick. For the BBQ, we kicked things off with the spicy bulgogi and butter garlic shrimp, while the others tried the pork belly (I don't eat pork). Later we ordered the steak, spicy brisket, and grilled squid, which were all delicious. The spicy brisket especially was a standout for me. The guys also ordered two rounds of fried dumplings that looked amazing, but since they contain pork, I had to sit those out. I'd love to see Chadol add a veggie dumpling option to the menu! As for the sides, the kimchi and cold glass noodles were both hits at our table, and of course we all added white rice. The "mashed potatoes" though? Definitely more like potato salad and unfortunately very bland. On the other hand, the cheese corn costs extra but is 1000% worth adding. For drinks, the guys enjoyed the Woody Old Fashioned while I had a mezcal margarita-style cocktail that was smoky and refreshing. We also ordered one of the chicken options but never received it and eventually just gave up on it. One of the coolest parts of the experience is the ordering system. Most meats are ordered directly from a machine at your table, and the food comes out quickly on this conveyor belt-style setup which was honestly so fun. Drinks and side dishes are ordered through the servers. The atmosphere was lively and energetic without feeling overwhelming. The restaurant is actually much larger inside than I expected, with a modern setup that works well for smaller groups. That said, I didn't really notice tables for larger parties, so I'm not sure how they accommodate groups bigger than 6 people. Service started off a little rough because our server wasn't very attentive, but after I called it out, he definitely stepped it up and things improved. Overall, Chadol was a really good experience and absolutely worth the price. The 1.5-hour seating limit makes sense too, both to keep things moving and give others a chance to enjoy the experience. I'd definitely go back!

Wooden privacy screens are set in between tables. (Perhaps because of Covid? Not sure.) This to me was really comfortable, didn't feel like I was stuck in a cattle car. I'm sure there's Korean BBQ here but we weren't at such a table. In fact it looked like grills had been removed from some tables and replaced with wooden covers. So nice to have that extra space because... Ordered bibimbap, bulgogi, steamed dumplings, etc. The extra side dishes I enjoy (kimchi, sprouts, etc.) were there as well. Ice tea, yadda yadda. Korean music was playing but it wasn't loud, on another screen by the kitchen I could see Family Guy. Again, not loud or intrusive. Didn't feel like they skimped on portions, there was plenty. Almost too much, wasn't sure I'd manage to finish the bulgogi but I did...mmm. Overall, this place is a nice break from other places.
