Brown's is my new go-to for home heating and cooling. We recently had issues with our AC cooling down the house so I contacted Brown's through the Yelp messaging system and received an immediate response. We communicated back and forth for an estimate and wanted to start the job asap. Unfortunately they were booked out for several days but put us on the cancellation call list. Luckily, they had a cancellation the next day and came out to service our outdoor unit. Long story short, we needed a new unit that couldn't be installed until the next day but they put some temporary repairs in place so that we could at least be comfortable for the night. I called Brown's Heating and Cooling after the company which had been performing my maintenance since 2014 "fixed" the issue with my AC not blowing cold air and the problem recurring after 24 hours following the fix. Due to my loyalty and experience with that company, I was very hesitant to switch and called several companies after doing some research. What made Brown's stand out amongst the rest was their prompt and professional response. Ramod was in the area and able to come assess the problem right away! Turns out I had a huge leak and that's why the "fix" from the prior company didn't work. Ramod ran down the possible solutions and I opted to replace the unit. I received a formal invoice via email to sign and review and was able to choose the unit. The installation went smooth and the crew was very respectful of my home and just all around friendly and professional! Picture this... It's 94 degrees outside. I come home from a trip and realize that my forced air unit has died...and it's 90 degrees inside. My cat is glaring at me. My landlord's hvac people can't come out for two days. I call Brown's at 330PM with fingers crossed. Here's what happened: Enjoli answers the phone and I describe the situation. She immediately asks some key questions and asks for some photos of the unit (and is super nice). I send them over and she assessed as well as possible over the phone and gives me a two hour window for a tech to arrive...THAT DAY! Ramod calls ahead and gives me an exact estimate of when he will arrive. He's right on time. He looks at the unit an immediately knows what's up (he's super nice, too). The blower is shot. The cost for showing up is included in the price of the repair and there is no hourly fee (this is rare from what I could tell by calling around). He had a new blower with him and fixed it within an hour while describing what happens to those over time. He answered all of my questions without skipping a beat (I had a bunch). A very knowledgeable guy. I hope I don't have to have lots of HVAC repair experiences in my life, but I have to say that this team hooked me up in a tight spot. Our AC just didn't work when we turned it on despite a brand new furnace. It was 90 degrees and our apartment just gets so hot so fast. Despite the Memorial Day, Browns immediately gave us a good quote for service call/repairs and came by the next day. On time, professional, and even quick to do what was needed to get done. I honestly appreciated the quick next day help AND on a holiday. The tech knew what he was doing and was helpful with explaining exactly what happened and what he would do to fix it. I contacted many places through Yelp and by telephone. Out of all of them, Browns had the best price and offered the best product. To start, I have a condo with a PTAC unit that needed to be replaced. A PTAC is basically a large window-air conditioner that passes through the wall used in commercial buildings, hotels, and condos. Most ac companies don't bother with them. Many of the companies I contacted took a long time to return my message and any subsequent messages. Browns never let more than an hour or two elapse between replies. Most companies recommended products that a simple google search showed to be problematic and overpriced. Browns recommended the highest rated, lower costing unit immediately. Their install/delivery/take-away price is in the normal range. When I contacted them to say I wished to receive my unit and service from them, they showed up at my place the same day with the unit, had it installed in now time, cleaned up, and though some weird stuff happened with parking and elevator use; they never let it bother them. The two guys were probably the nicest, most helpful service people I've ever used. I don't even think I would bother to call anyone else in the future. The company excelled in every facet. They are not the right company for minisplit installations. Friendly service, but lack the knowledge to install minisplits correctly. They messed up the drainage on our system and refused to refund or fix the issue. They also rush to get to the next job and do not take the time required to finish it correctly the first time. We actually had to go to an extreme and file a lawsuit to get a refund. read more

Our A/C wasn't working very well and the coil kept freezing up. We called out Deljo who came out nearly a week later and said the coil was plugged and needed to be replaced and it was probably worth looking at a new condenser unit as well. They quoted $4,400 for a new coil and $7,800 for a new 4 ton condenser and coil (no line set included). These prices seemed ridiculous. I contacted Browns through Yelp. I told them the story, sent some pictures of the units and they quoted me $4,600 for a new condenser and coil. Over 3k difference. This was such a pleasant experience. I just purchased a unit and they came out and checked everything before I even closed to let me know what had to be fixed. Ramod tried to have me to replace it all but finally recommended we replace the AC, furnace and water tank. The process was totally painless. Fernando and Jesus were at our house bright early in the morning and started to install all three pieces. They answered all of my question and were so pleasure to work with.
