Lack of communication, Cancelled appointments which set my treatment back and more damage The pool was NEVER satisfactorily serviced, cleaned, properly balanced, the chemical levels were never balanced, there was always algae at the bottom. They never cleaned the filter and it was full of garbage. The cancelled appointments set me back and caused me a great deal of additional expense. The company has YET to contact me as stipulated they would call me back to discuss the issue of the pool. I spent almost $2000.00 pm this pool that was never properly serviced and had not been able to use it until I switched to another company which repaired and serviced the pool. I have NOW been able to use my pool at 1/20th the expense. I would NOT recommend this pool company! read more

Had a pump motor issue. Our go to pool pals are Brown's in Dallas. Today I called them up to price a new motor and Ethan in repairs is the absolute most professional and helpful customer service person I have encountered in a VERY long time! Not only did he explain what I needed, he offered to explain and assist if I needed anything while replacing the new motor. We decided we would just go ahead and pay the fee to have him replace the parts that are a little touchy; however, he was so accommodating and helped me learn the process right away. We also went ahead and purchased a replacement lateral assembly and sand so I could service the filter as well. I will never use another pool company solely based on the above and beyond attitude of Ethan today. We are so appreciative as we get to spend our last few weeks with our grandson swimming in the pool before he moves to Hawaii with his service parents. read more

This company is the worst for providing pool service or cleaning. They have a Mandy or a Gayle in answering and taking calls. Both are unprofessional and dont return calls. This company ripped me off almost 2000 dollars supposedly cleaning my pool and never got my pool cleaned. Even going in the store is useless. Omg will yall please answer the phones?!?!? It took over a month for me to get in touch with yall and now im looking for services again and still not answering!!! Im amazed at how poor the customer service is. Very nice people when they do answer but the communication is horrific. This is the reason i switched to other companies for repairs/renovations and services. The people in the office are nice although always busy apparently. But the install crews....i won't let them set foot on my property again. Not only were they extremely dismissive of my opinions and questions as a single woman (telling me I needed to hire them to close the pool instead of trying to do it myself and ruin everything) but when I had leaks months after install and asked them to come back out, the installer spent the entire appointment trying to gas light me into believing it had been two years since the installation. I will pay for another liner to avoid having these people ever set foot on my property again. Avoid! read more

We had our pool pump go out yesterday during the cold weather and I called this location and talked to Anthony. He pulled together all of the parts we needed and went above and beyond to help us to get our pump back in before the weather got really cold again. He was very knowledgeable and let me watch him put the impeller assembly back on the motor so I would know how to do it next time. He answered all question I had and you can tell he genuinely loves his job. After I got home to install the pump it was making a noise and tripping the breaker off. I called him and he answered questions over the phone to get this corrected quickly. It was my fault because I had moved the plug from 230volts to 115 volts. I can't say enough good things about him and will consult him in the future for any pool problems I encounter. read more

I have been trying to reach their repair line for several days and no one answers the line and then the voicemail says it is full. I called the local store to see if they could help and was told no. I told the guy it looked like I should just call another company and he said ok do that. What kind of customer service is that? I have used Brown's for my pool and hot tub for years. Our saltwater swimming pool had a leak in the liner. I called Brown's and told them what I was needing. They were so nice and helpful in ordering a new liner. I also asked if there was any way they could also install it for me. I had recently had lower back surgery and me trying to install it was out of the question. No problem at all. They provided me a quote for the liner and the two gentlemen that would install it for me. Once the liner arrived Brown's called and set up a time for the installation to take place. The guys came around 7:30am, took the old liner out, set up and prepared the ground for the liner, installed and started filling the pool up around 3:00pm. I had never seen such attention to detail as I witnessed their workmanship. They made sure that there were no dips in the bottom and no creases in the liner. They worked their backsides off and completed the job beautifully. I wanted to include a couple pictures so you could see. I highly recommend Brown's and will return to them for all my pool needs. Three years ago we purchased a Bull Frog Spa from Brown Pools. Then, the sales person was great, the installation went smooth, we were very happy. As some time passed we had some issue with pealing spa pillows and the electrical. The folks we spoke to a Brown said this never happens and that it these items were not covered under warranty. This past winter we had a rodent issue where they were able to entry the hot tub and nest. The hot tub is still in working order, but a lot of the installation was destroyed and at this time I am unsure the total damage as I have not completely take the cabinet off. When this was mentioned to the folks at Brown, they said that Bull Frog Spas are built so that rodents cannot get in and basically blew me off. I even showed them pictures of the damage. When I reached out to Bull Frog they said our dealer should assist. The original call to there service department, the person was rude and said they could not come out and clean out the tub and inspect. When we called again, we left messages with no return call. I do not recommend Brown Pools to anyone, or a Bull Frog Spa. I thought paying a little more for what was suppose to be a better product was the way to go. I have contacted another company to service my spa and inspect for repairs. We were planning for a pool next year, but I guess Brown Pools just lost that business as well! read more

I originally selected Brown's Pools from a list of bidders to do our liner replacement because they built this pool for the previous owners about 10 years ago. They were a bit higher than the other bids, but I figured they were probably the best option since they would have historical information about this particular pool. Boy was I wrong! This whole job turned out to be an absolute nightmare and I'd never recommend them to anyone for a pool build or renovation. The salesman (no longer with the company) who came to the house in March of 2022 was friendly, wrote up our contract, told us the whole job would take a week, maybe two, at the most to complete. Month after month, no one showed up. I called every month to ask what the status was, and was told by the lady in the renovation department (name withheld) that she'd have to get back with me. That went on for 11 months. Finally in February 2023, she called to say they were coming the next day to start work. They did show up, and began work, but they didn't finish until April 2023. So, it took them over a year to do a job that should have taken a week or two at the most. The communication with Brown's is pathetic. They simply don't bother to return calls at all. The bottom topography of the pool was changed, and they didn't remove the old rope anchors or put in new ones to show the change in the deep end. They left rebar in the flower beds. They dumped trash and debris all over the yard, when there was a trash can right by the pool. They poured excess concrete in the flower beds and tried to hide it with pine straw. I found it in the spring when I was planting annuals. They splattered concrete all over the pool deck and didn't remove it. They ruined the yard and grass, which was to be expected, but didn't offer to do anything to repair it. They shorted me 3 bags of salt, 2 escutcheons, and one eyeball. I spoke to the GM (name withheld) about all of my concerns, and he promised to get back with me. Guess what, he never called back. I did go to the store in Dallas and got the escutcheons and the eyeball. The team did come back and pick up the rebar, and put in a float rope, even though it's in the wrong place. I never got a credit for the missing salt. I know that things happen and that everything doesn't always go right on these jobs, but the key is communication with the customer and how you make amends for the mistakes your company makes. Brown's did neither. Communication is nonexistent, and they did nothing at all to make amends for the multiple problems and mistakes they made. I would have expected at least a discount on the total cost, but that didn't happen. Two of the competitors I didn't choose both said they could have had this entire job done for less money, and in less than a week. I wish I had chosen one of them instead. I say buyer beware. Don't use Brown's Pools for any type of pool build or renovation jobs. You may regret it. read more

Had our pool installed June 2020. The electrician that came out to do the connection busted the main water pipe to our home and he supposedly fixed it but a month and a half later we woke up to no water and it turned out that he never reported it to Browns Pool's. The electrician did a poor job in covering up the wires in the ground and when I brought to the attention of Browns pools they were hesitant but finally sent someone else to properly cover up the wires but because the ground was not compacted it was washed away, at the end my husband and I ended up paying to have that properly covered up and ensure it was fixed properly. For the first month we used the pool less than a handful of times. Since day one we added chemicals as instructed by Browns Pool's, September 2020 we started paying a weekly fee for maintenance to come out and maintain the pool for us because the pool water was getting greener, and we thought we were doing something incorrectly. A month and a half into paying maintenance to come out we did not notice any improvement, the water continued to get worse I made several complaints to Browns Pool's, all I was told was they could not understand what was happening either. They even had a chemical rep come to our house, in hopes of figuring out what the issue was but they either could not give an answer nor clear/clean the water. Pool season 2021, we continued with the same issue, just wasting money and no representative for Brown pools could give an explanation nor find a solution. Pool season 2022, we decided to go with a different pool store and WOW we were so happy we did, within a week of using their chemicals the water had cleared tremendously, within two weeks the pool was ready for use. My personal opinion, Browns pools use very poor chemicals, and the owner and reps don't care about making a difference but only collecting money. I am surprised they are still in business, given the experience I had with them for two years and not once were we offered any type of discount for the inconvenience of wasting money on chemicals that weren't making any difference. The very first picture shows the poor job the electrician did in covering up the wires underground. The first picture of the pool where the water looks a light green is year 2020. The second picture with the darker green water is year 2021. The last two pictures of the pool with the deck is year 2022, we finally have been able to enjoy the money we spent for this pool but not thanks to Browns Pool's!! read more

I have called twice for four days in a row. Called three times last week, begging for a return call. MS x311 will not even acknowledge a customer phone call. Originally spoke with MS about cleaning and shock treatment. A rep came to house said it was too cold and would come back that weekend. NEver heard from him again and can not get anyone to reply. I had 8 bids from several pool companies, I chose Brown's Pools because they had more options, AND the apple-to-apple services of all other companies (they were the only company to offer large stepping stones to trim out around the new pool steps). They were not the lowest price - but definitely reasonable. The crew that came out to repair a 6 year-old neglected and abandoned pool (before I bought the house) were "awesome". After the sand filter and pool motor failed - and the additional expense of those new units to be installed, I am thrilled with the gorgeous pool I have. Again, costs for buying the sand filter and pool motor - were nominal (you can verify the cost by going online and finding them) - so the charges to install both, were reasonable (to save money, if I could have done it - I would have). My concern with Brown's Pools is the scheduling department (as is the majority of negative feedback on this site). When the crew came out to pull the old liner, install the new steps, rework the pool bottom and then install the new liner...they said they would be done THAT day (not if it was done right?, the comment gave me cause for concern). They (of course) came back for another full day of work and installed the liner. It looked great! Brown's also came out and vacuumed the pool for me at not additional charge (at the time I didn't have any of the pool-stuff and had no idea about the pool process...but I'm learning REALLY quick). When the pool motor stopped (dead), I immediately called Brown's and set up an appointment for a new one - 10 days later - NO SHOW on the scheduled day (and no one returned my call for two days). Apologies for the oversight - seem to be well rehearsed and common. I find the result of no one showing - to be - I now have Algae in the pool and have spent an additional $250 trying to kill it off. Not Brown's responsibility for the mess - but with the total amount that was paid in full (with no negotiation or reduction given at the time of contract signing) - It would have left a less bitter taste to have not been set on the back-burner for an immediate and critical need for my pool. I would recommend Brown's Pools - the staff know they're job and perform it with pride - the critical sand filter and finally pool motor were both installed on a Saturday. Both men (Ricky and Nate) doing a terrific job. Scheduling department would need attention. The final result is perfect! read more

Brown's Pools and Spas in Douglasville and Carrollton are horrendous. This company never keeps standard pool pump items in stock. When they order items - they WILL charge you a 20% restocking fee when it is an error THEY made. Not only will they charge you, but they will NOT tell you about the restocking fee. The workers at these locations are undertrained especially during peak times (Spring and Summer). The stores are unorganized and the management is subpar. We will NEVER use this company again. read more

This review is for the service department. I love the local Brown's Pool Store and their employees but the service technicians suck. I've had them out to our pool twice because the pump keeps losing pressure. The first technician told me to stop using the basket when vacuuming and let the leaves and the waste go through the pipes. Well I clogged up the pipes following his advice and now they can't get the pipes cleared because they don't have the right equipment to do it. I've had to call another company which is frustrating because the pool is off in the middle of summer and I'm sure it's going to be green in a few days with algae. And Brown's is demanding payment for wasting my time. The technician today Bill, arrived early (two hours early) without calling or apologizing. He cussed and threw things while he was here because parts were missing that he needed were from his van. I don't have sensitive ears but one mother* was enough for me to wish he had never showed up. Don't waste your time and ruin your day dealing with these people. Call someone who can actually help. read more

I purchased a Bullfrog Spa from them and I am very satisfied with the Spa. However, I was and still am extremely dissatisfied with the Sales People. It appears they will say anything for the Sale. The Sales Person stated that the Installation Crew would fill the Spa and instruct me on how it operates. They showed up over 2 hours late, installed the Spa, filled it about foot, handed me the Instructions and took off. I believe Bullfrog is a good Spa but, Brown's is a different story. read more

I have never called and gotten to speak with a person. I've always had to leave a message. I've only gotten a return call once. I wanted to write this review in the hope that anyone reading it can hopefully benefit from my recent experience with Browns pools. I have owned my home now for a few years and it came with a browns pool. This year given the odd weather, i noticed my IG pool vinyl liner was starting to "float". I call browns pool since they had installed the new liner 3 years ago. First let me tell you, the rep on the phone was friendly and very nice. They sent me over to David brown...yes, the owners son! He was incredibly knowledgeable and understanding of my frustration. He explained to me in a way i could understand without sounding patronizing as i have experienced with other pool vendors. We setup an appointment and he showed up on time. In this day and age when someone is on time it is a rare thing! After we did a brief review of the liner, david literally got down and started to help smooth out the liner. He literally spent two hours helping me and explaining how this happens and what to do next time and most importantly how to avoid this in the future. Needless to say, my wife and i were amazed at his knowlege and how he not only helped us but also educated us. I hope yoi find this helpful. It's easy these days to hear how aweful a company or person is. These days we could use more people like David and the great family run company he represents. The rudest company i ever had to deal with! I made the mistake of hiring them to open our pool for the summer.The did nothing but put shock in and take the cover off. They left the pool a dirty disgusting mess. They wouldn't even take the time to clean the pool or even clean off the steps. What a waste of money! Never using them again! I just advised the gentleman that I would seek an estimate from his competitor. He never tried to explain, his answer was "ok". Absolute worse customer service and follow up that I believe I have ever experienced from ANY retailer. Pathetic customer service skills from the sales rep to the General Manager. Amazes me how such a poorly run company can remain in business. Stray clear of these clowns! Update....since I have not shopped at Brown's for several months now, I have had the experience to shop other pool supply retailers in the metro area. I am amazed how much more knowledgable the staff in these stores are....and more favorable pricing. I have also met many other pool owners while in these places of business and I have discovered a common theme. The majority have had a very bad experience with one of the Brown's locations, and consistently state that they will never shop Brown's again. Seems the pattern is the same....they put your pool in, then treat you like a no-body. Good news is I have been successful in steering four friends away from Brown's as it relates to installing a new pool. All four are going with different companies. Have also convinced three folks that I met in Aqua Rama to steer clear of Brown's as well. If you are in the market for a pool....or pool service....Beware!! We purchased a Bullfrog Spa as a Christmas/Anniversary gift for my husband and I in late December. The retail staff at Browns - Carol and Anthony - were fantastic and took their time answering our questions about the features of the various models. My niece and I had a fun and informative experience wet testing the spa at the Dallas store. We tried out every jet pack available before making our final decision. Even though we came in near closing time on a Saturday - Carol encouraged us to relax and not rush making our decision. The delivery and installation crew were amazing! They stayed while the spa was filling with water and once it was completely filled and operational they took their time showing us how easy it was to operate and maintain. This was one of the best customer service experiences we have had with a purchase. The best part though is HOW MUCH WE LOVE IT! We had a spa previously that my husband used every day - but I hardly ever got in. It just wasn't a good fit for me - jets were in all the wrong places. This Bullfrog spa is totally customized for our needs and I use it several times a week. My husband enjoys soaking and using the incredible jet packs every single morning with his coffee. My niece loves relaxing with her teen girlfriends when they are over for a visit. They crank up their music and chill and laugh and enjoy! We all agree it's the best gift EVER!! read more

Warning! Do not use browns pools. I had a pool liner installed 4 years ago. I'm having to have another liner installed this week. The liner faded very badly 1st year. Now at 4 years liner is completely white. When I purchased liner I converted over to mineral springs to help keep liner looking good. Spent several thousand dollars with browns. Had water tested every week by Newnan location. David was called several times. Finally came out. Said he would get liner rep to look at it. Not heard a word in 3 years. Called several times. No return call. Now with new liner install, I was informed the main reason liner faded was that liner is undersized and was stretched due to install practice that a lot of companies use to make it easier to get wrinkles out during install. I wouldn't hire browns pools to set up a kiddie pool. I think they missed their calling. Should have went into septic tank business. read more

We purchased our first ever pool in 2007 from Brown's pools Unfortunately!!! at their corporate Douglasville, Ga location. The pool is not totally level and the skimmer was improperly installed app. six ft. to one side of the center causing poor circulation. Because of this debris etc. also collects in one end of the pool. In 2010 we purchased from Brown's a new liner due to fire ant issues under the bottom of the liner. We had our local pest control company treat the ground prior to installation and purchased from Brown's a Gorilla pad installed on top of the ground below liner. (This would have been very good to know had we been informed when we originally purchased the pool). App. two years ago we noticed app. 1/3 of the liner fading rapidly ONLY at the seam along with large ripples developing in the faded area only on the bottom of the liner. After several attempts recently I finally was able to confirm an appointment with their service Manager Nate to visit and review the liner issues. His explanation was that the chemicals were improperly inserted into the pool that caused the fading and ripples. I questioned him regarding why the problem was only on one side of the seam but he did not provide an explanation. This week I contacted CSD Pools in Hiram, Ga and asked them what in their opinion caused this problem to develop. They clearly indicated that the mfg. of the liner clearly did not treat that portion that was fading and rippling on one side of the seam area. CSD pools is my new pool supply company that I will depend on in the future. I DO NOT recommend Brown's pools for any purchases of any kind to anyone. read more

We bought a hot tub from Browns Pools. It took me 4 phone calls to get an apointment for someone to come out because it was leaking. They came out and left a note that they needed to order a part. Haven't heard back from them. Left them a message last night, still no return call. However, I did receive a bill for their spa diagnosis - for my spa that's under warranty. This company's level of service and communication is sub-par! I scheduled an appointment for my initial cleanings with Mandy. I asked her to reschedule the appointment from Monday to Tuesday and no one came. She responded and told me that she accidentally had the appointment down for Thursday. People make mistakes so I didn't worry about that. It was raining on Thursday so the tech was unable to come. When the tech finally "supposedly" came, I was out of town. When I returned, nothing was done so I thought no one came. A few days after I returned to town (it was a week after they were scheduled to come), I finally called the tech and he informed me that they came out and couldn't do anything because my pump went out. My question to him was when someone was going to contact me to discuss my pool issues with me. I never received an email or phone call informing me of their attempt to service my pool. Two days later, I get a call from someone in the service department telling me that it was going to be $1600 to fix my pool. I gave him my email address and he sent me a quote. During my call with the service person, I expressed my frustration with their lack of follow-up and communication. I have YET to hear back from anyone to address my concerns or even to go over what they found, etc. I don't know of any company that comes to provide a service (or attempt to) and doesn't leave any documentation that they came. I understand that pool season is very busy for this company, but I DO NOT recommend this company for pool clean-up or servicing. Carol is the most unprofessional person at the Dallas ga brown location . We just bought a $10,000 hot tub 6weeks ago. We are having problems with our jet packs, the o ring broke on one causing it to make a noise ,the o ring on a low flow kept slipping causing water to spray up behind the jet pack and when I finally received my upgraded jet pack one of the jets hardly had any pressure. We do not want these problems nor do we create these problems. Carol will treat you like you did it on purpose. When my husband went by to see if we can switch out our upgraded jet pack, carol said to him "we can not keep ordering jet packs" then walked to the back of the store never to be seen again. We also have had to wait longer than normal to receive our jet packs thanks to whoever forgot. Why would you treat your customer like WE are the problem? I do not want to spend my free time ordering jet packs, I just want one that works minus the attitude carol! Thanks for nothing. Now my only option is to get my original one back, so I guess I don't get an upgrade now because carol is sick of doing her job and making customers happy. I'm about ready to return the hot tub getting treated like this!! read more
