By far the best donuts I have ever had! Usually I'm a donuts for dessert person but I would 100% recommend waking up to eat these hot first thing in the morning! They are best fresh and hot! The line can get a bit long but it is well worth the wait. The cinnamon sugar and honey were my favorite but you really cannot go wrong here! 10/10 - I would come every week if I lived in the area. Cant beat early morning donuts on the boardwalk. Given the current climate, the lines havnt been too bad but any other time you need to be here early to avoid or get a good place in line. Today we got 4 chocolate, 4 vanilla, 2 honey,, 2 cinnamon sugar. The donuts are made fresh due to how quickly they pump these bad boys out. When you pick up the box you can feel the heat radiating from these fluffy halos of goodness. When you down the container you are greeted by a packed house of donuts. Try to eat them asap because the glaze melts and gets sticky. Texturwise, they are crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. The glaze is just enough to let you taste whatever flavor you choose, but doesnt overpower the donut. My favorite was definately the honey. The crunch from the donut along with the sweet honey was the perfect bite. Definately worth the trip and is a nice treat to have while out during a morning walk. Came here Saturday after Labor Day around 8:30am just for take out donuts. Judging from other reviews I was eager to try these. The line was only 3 deep which shortly ballooned to 20 people in minutes. The guy in front of me remarked he never gets these donuts but decided to stop because the line was abnormally short. These donuts lived up to the hype. About $1 each or $5.25 for 1/2 dozen. These were excellent. Had the honey, chocolate dipped and cinnamon sugar. Lived up to the hype. Kids enjoyed them. Five stars for Brown's donuts. I have tried many places claiming to have the best donuts, and no donuts ever come close to Brown's. They are warm and crispy on the outside, and soft and fluffy on the inside. The donuts are fresh out of the fryer and then dipped in toppings at your request. The donuts themselves are unflavored. The topping choices are cinnamon sugar, chocolate glaze, vanilla glaze, powder, honey, or plain. The cinnamon sugar and chocolate glazed are my favorite. When I am in OC, this place is always a must. We usually go around 9 or 10, because they stop selling them in the late morning. Not sure what time they stop making donuts -- I think it varies a bit depending on the crowd. I get it from the overwhelming amount of Yelp reviews that Brown's is beloved in OC. I also get it that places can have bad days or the certain employees are simply what you would call a putz. I'm not sure which of those latter two parts came into play last Thursday morning but my Brown's experience was clearly not what the group is talking about because it stunk. When I get there as expected there is a line but since it's a weekday in the early part of the season it's only seven deep. That said, it took over twenty minutes for it to be my turn as two people back to back each ordered two dozen and the kid working the window was not exactly the sharpest knife in the drawer or whatever cliché for slow/distracted/stupid you want to insert here. Finally I order and it was easy/simple compared to most. Two honey, two cinnamon and two powdered. The kid was very distracted by other co-workers as he spent more time talking to them then he did making sure the appropriate glazes were applied to each donut. In the end what I got (as my picture shows) were two powered that were done perfectly, one cinnamon that had a crap-ton of sugar on it, one cinnamon with a spot of cinnamon on it and the rest of the donut more or less had nothing, one honey that was done perfectly and the other honey was essentially a plain donut as it got nothing put on it. Of course the box is closed up before it's given to you so I don't see this until I open it up after walking back to the house. If I would have seen it sooner, hell no would I have accepted ordering six donuts with two of them in essence having nothing on them. I also get that overall this is a low cost issue with six donuts only going for $4.95 but the principal behind it is that 1/3 of my order was screwed up because little Jimmy is a zero attention span putz. In the future maybe I'll give Brown's another shot or maybe I'll stick with Oves as I've never had this issue with them. (Also kudos to Briana M. for her "genius" viewpoint that because you're at the beach you shouldn't care if the donut(s) you get are actually done the way that you asked. Sorry boss but you're a putz and if I ask for two honey glazed I expect two glazed, not one with glaze and one plain.) read more

Great breakfast spot right on the boardwalk in Ocean City, NJ! Famous for their made-on-prem donuts, our group of 4 stopped in on a Saturday morning. Super friendly staff, large selection of omelets and specials, and of course the donuts. Seating is tightly packed, but everyone is very friendly. We were lucky in our timing not to have a wait, by the time we finished, there was a line of 10 or so outside. The server got our beverages and then took our order straight away. One of our party ordered two donuts, another a veggie omelet, and two of us got a special which included home fries, two eggs any style, choice of toast and a breakfast meat. We also ordered a couple of sides of scrapple to share. The portions were generous, cooked to order perfectly, and incredibly filling. The price was very reasonable (about$10 pp) and we all left very satisfied. Highly recommended if you're looking for a great breakfast spot while in town! read more

I was taken here by a resident of Philly that spent their summers in Ocean City. He had built this place up quite a bit, so I came in with high expectations, and in all fairness, expectations usually disappoint. This is one of the first weekends they opened, so we showed up early. The weather was a little shabby, so thankfully there wasn't a line and we were seated at the coffee bar right away. During the time that we were there, plenty of people came in for a table seating and commented loudly, "My god, I have to take a picture of this, I have never seen it like this before." Clearly this place is popular. So I wanted to see if the food lived up to all of it. Service was good - I want to say because it wasn't that busy. The food came out quickly and was delicious and fresh. I ordered the chip and hash (staple of their menu) and donuts. The donuts are made to order and my goodness, they blow Krispy Kreme out of the water any day. The walk up donut window was poppin the entire time we were there, and the making of them donuts was so efficient. I was impressed with the overall service, quality of food, and cleanliness and welcoming atmosphere. After so many years of hype, then haven't diminished the quality of any of those things and that in it of itself is commendable. read more
