I paid for the initial brow, went for the free touch up and paid for 2 more touch ups and she gave me one fee touch up - close to $800 and it's still not right. Pay more and get it done right with someone who knows what they are doing. Date of service: November 18, 2017 After researching several microblading facilities, I decided to go to Brows Beauty and Bronze by Nancy. I chose to have my eyebrows microblade by Nancy because I appreciated her background in the beauty industry and I liked the photos showcasing her work. When I met Nancy for the first time at my appointment, she had such a warm-welcoming smile and made me feel comfortable. She went over the procedure, discussed shape, color, thickness of hair strokes, and after care with me (a printed after care list will go home with you). I have tattooed my eyebrows a few times in the past. I've always chosen a dark brown color so it wouldn't look too dark for my skin tone. I don't know if it's because I'm Asian or it's just ME but, every time the end result (after the peeling phase) turns a reddish color! The second photo shows my original tattooed "lined" reddish-eyebrow. Not to mentioned I barely had any hair because of over tweezing. The following photos are the result of Nancy's work of art. She custom mixed my brow colors and she was thoughtful to keep in mind my "reddish" colored results from previous tattooed result. Wow! Nancy is a true eyebrow artist! I am extremely happy with my eyebrows. She definitely exceeded my expectations. Not only is she professional and sweet but she is also very meticulous with her work... she measured my eyebrows throughout the procedure and provided a mirror for me to see how it looks throughout the procedure. Nancy was truly the SWEETEST! She's your go-to lady for perfect eyebrows! I had been wanting to get my eyebrows microbladed for the longest time ever, and first stumbled across Nancy's Yelp page after one of my Yelp friends went to her and got her eyebrows microbladed. They looked amaaazing on her and she mentioned that Nancy's pricing is very affordable, which was definitely the "nail in the coffin", so to speak, in my decision to get my eyebrows microbladed finally! Other places I had researched quoted prices on an upscale of of $700 or more, which was insanely out of a college student's budget haha. Nancy was super easy to get ahold of, setting up the consultation and appointment was such a breeze! I can never be thankful enough for her--she was very understanding and accommodating that since I was driving down from the LA area, it would save me time and another drive to have both the consultation and the actual appointment on the same day. Initially, she had booked me for 2:00 in the afternoon, but in the days after, she constantly reached out to me and tried to move my appointment up so as to try to get me home before the insane traffic hour started! Bless her kind soul for that~ you can tell that she has her clients' best interests at heart! Oh, and I forgot to mention she does take a $50 deposit when you make your appointment, but that goes towards the microblading fee! Up until the actual day came around, she sent reminders over text for my appointment which I greatly appreciated. I was not too nervous going in, but she eased any remaining concerns I had. She just has this warm and inviting aura that makes you want to chat like friends, and she even made me laugh a couple times during the procedure! I would give the actual microblading a 3 or 4 (with numbing cream) on a pain scale of 10, which was completely bearable. My eyebrows did immediately swell up towards the end of the microblading but not to a crazy extent, like I was totally okay to walk around in public like that and actually did a little shopping right afterwards haha. The pain only resonated very faintly right after, and I barely noticed it on the three hours' drive back home. On day 3 my eyebrows started to scab but they didn't itch too crazily so it wasn't too difficult to resist picking at them haha. Twice a day, I sort of just smeared Aquaphor over my brows to help with the healing process. A little over a week later, the scabbing process was finally over and my eyebrows were completely healed! On the day I'm writing this review, it'll be exactly two weeks since I had my eyebrows microbladed, and I can honestly say I'm so satisfied with my brow shape and color! I've been thinking about microblading for two years now and was excited to see Nancy's positive Yelp reviews since there aren't too many places doing this procedure in San Diego, so I emailed her with questions regarding the procedure: about the type of dye used, about the blades she uses, her certifications, the process itself, etc. Nancy responded immediately and sounded amazing. Nancy had me come with my brows already filled in to see how I like to wear my brows on a daily basis. We sat and talked about what shape I prefer, then she wiped my brow filler off and drew in my brows as she found suitable to my face shape and preference. Once we agreed on a shape, Nancy and I looked at a few shades of dye and decided on the perfect color for me. She then measured my eyebrows with a special tool, made some markings and then began the process. My advice is to utilize that numbing cream because it really helped and it honestly felt like nothing once the numbness kicked in. Overall I would highly recommend Nancy! So happy with my new eyebrows. My brows were not sparse to begin with but microblading has made them look really great. Along with lash extensions (Garnet Lash right down the street!) I can easily skip make-up and still feel ready to go out. Nancy was excellent to work with overall. She listened well to my needs and customized the shape and color based on what I told her. She's super sweet and friendly and pleasant to talk to as well. I paid $500 plus tip. It's not exactly cheap but it's supposed to last 18-36 months (less if you do a bunch of stuff to your face like chemical peels, etc.) After your initial session, you come back after a month or so for a touch-up (included in the price) and she'll fill in any areas that didn't accept the ink. Nancy is FANTASTIC. I got my eyebrows microbladed a week ago so they're still healing, but I can already tell they're going to be perfect. Your session includes the 6-8 week touch up. I had them done years ago somewhere else and wasn't too thrilled with the old results. I had my consultation with Nancy a few weeks before my appointment. I had a wedding to go to, so she advised that I wait until after so I wasn't healing during that time. That was really helpful. She used a numbing cream which made it completely painless. (That's just my opinion. I have a high pain tolerance so you may not feel the same way if you're sensitive.) Then she basically redid the consult and discussed exactly what she was going to do and how I wanted it to look while the cream was setting in. She was incredibly precise, and even used a ruler to guide everything. It really is art for her and she seems to really take pride in her work. If you get this done, just know that you'll go through several phases during healing. 1. The What The Heck Have I Done Phase This is when you might freak out because your brows are probably about 7 shades darker than you wanted them to be. IT'S OK. The scabs that form will be dark. The color will lighten over the next few days to a couple of weeks. 2. The Reptilian Phase You will scab, and it will be gross. I wore a hat for a few days. (You should do that anyway to keep your face out of the sun during healing.) 3. The Houdini Phase When your scabs start to flake off, it may look like all the color fell off with the scabs and your brows are gone. Your skin will probably be pink with very little hint that you even had the procedure at all. That's ok too! You'll look patchy for a few days, but rest assured that the color just takes a few days to surface. I'm one week in, and the color is just starting to stabilize. You might heal faster or slower, depending on you. No matter where you go for your microblading, the healing process will be similar to this. It has nothing to do with Nancy's quality of work. Follow her post care instructions and you'll be fine. But if you go to Nancy, just know that you will be very well taken care of. This was the best thing I did this year. Wow. What a difference! I have...I mean I had very sparse brows because of over plucking. I spent a lot of time in the morning drawing on my brows, so time consuming...but after this. NO TIME WASTED! WOOOHOOOOO!!! Anywho... Nancy is so sweet and friendly. She goes over the procedure thoroughly and makes her professional recommendations based on her experience. Nancy is really good with brow shaping as she used to do that before becoming microblading certified/owning her own business. She takes sterile precautions and is very safe with her procedure. She is open to your ideas, and suggests her recommendations based on color and thickness without being pushy at all. I personally decided to do a lighter color and thinner line to start off. Honestly, I could have just been okay after the first procedure...but the touch up was awesome too! I have a palsy on the right side of my face from MS & Nancy was able to raise my right eyebrow so that it looks natural and more symmetrical. SO here is how it goes: 1. You call/text nancy and make an appointment (consultation) 2. You attend the consultation with Nancy. She goes over the procedure, the colors that would suit you. She draws on your brows based on how she sees the microblading session will go. You give her a deposit and make an appointment. 3. You attend your microblading appointment. Nancy puts on some numbing cream on your brows and verifies the color with you. Nancy draws the outline and then fills in your brows with hair strokes. What does it feel like? It's a tad painful, not too much where you will like pass out or need a break or anything. It actually felt like I just needed to sneeze really bad if that makes any sense (your forehead is connected to your sinuses). Nancy rubs the topical numbing cream on again and this time when she does more strokes you can't feel a thing. You make a f/u appointment 4. At your follow up appointment Nancy does the same as #3. I used waxalene and had zero color loss or flaking. This was awesome because i went to work and socialized the next day without anyone knowing anything had happened. I used waxalene so faithfully so that my brows never had a chance to scab. I don't know if it will help others but i think it really helped my case. Nancy did an incredible job. I am so excited to throw away my eyebrow pencils once and for all! It is so wonderful to wake up every morning looking younger and better! Before I had straggly eyebrows with shortened "tales." Thanks to Nancy, I now have full brows that extend all the way to the outside of my eyes. She measured and marked and really took her time to mock up the brows with pencil before beginning the permanent micro blading. The process took about an hour and after the numbing cream took effect she went to work and like a skilled artist and sculpted my brows to perfection! She did a horrible job and my brows were so uneven and the color turned grey ( I wanted brown). There are so many people who claim they can do it and end up totally messing up your brows. This is exactly why I chose Nancy. Just look at her clients' before and after pics! That's her proof of greatness. The Procedure: 1. Come with your brows done like you would want them done 2. Consultation - can take up to an hour; depending on if you already have an idea of what color you want, the shape, etc. Once you've decided (Nancy helps you make your decision, of course) she wipes off your existing make up and outlines the new brow. She measures it to make sure they're even, straight, etc. (at this point, you will feel like they look so thick but understand she is only filling in, the inside of the lines.) if you approve this, then numbing cream is applied and here we go.. 3. Microblade (and she trims and cleans up your brows as she goes along) - this doesn't really hurt, but I have a high pain tolerance and I can see how it may bother some people. I was extremely nervous about doing this procedure but I was honestly tired of filling in my eyebrows. I don't have tattoos so something permanent or semi permanent made me really nervous.
