It's been a while since I been back and they have changed their menu a bit but it was still good, maybe even better than the last time was here. They no longer have the melon pan, but they have transitioned those into mochi cookies. We opted for their croissants and other selections: Takoyaki croissant 5/5 --- so delicious, croissant was flaky and soft and went very well with takoyaki Flan egg tart 5/5 -- love the combo of this. Flaky egg tart with creamy flan Supreme breakfast croissant 4.5/5 -- it was good but needs some salt. Midnight croissant 4.5/5 -- this would have been good if the filling was evenly distributed. The colors made it very attractive Brown sugar coffee 5/5 - I don't do coffee but this was really good. Not strong in coffee flavor, creamy, and good amount of sweet Banh mi - 3/5 the only disappointment. The filling was minimal, and it was bland and dry. The bread itself was good though. I visited Broye cafe to try hot chocolate festival limited item. Saigon after Dark - Pho spice 2.0 -Key flavors of dark chocolate and new pho spice. Dark chocolate infused with cinnamon star anise, black pepper and orange zest. Service with Takoyaki Croissant. I had the pho spice hot chocolate last year, I remember the last year one flavor was more stronger. This year's one was subtle and I could not taste much savory flavor in. It was a just regular hot chocolate. If this was a regular hot chocolate, it tasted good, however, if it was pho spice one, not really impressive . Takoyaki croissant was very unique. I enjoyed that croissant with Vegetable, Mayo and sauce on the top. Actually, highlight was cafe royal tart. - A flaky puff pastry tart filled with silky milk-and-coffee cream, topped with a rich caramel flan for a smooth, aromatic café-style treat. This is not hot chocolate festival item. Cream caramel on the top of crispy Pie tart caught my eye. Cream caramel was very delicious and coffee cream filling was really good. The first time I tried this place was great. The atmosphere is calm, not too busy and the sandwich was delicious. However the recent experience was not the same. The restaurant wasn't busy at all but it took them 20-30 minute to get my order out, which was disappointing and also was cold. When I had to use their bathroom, it had a code on it and even the cashier didn't know the code and was struggling with it. It took awhile but we finally made it back here and I finally tried the Moissant. The verdict? It's not bad but it's not something I need to try again. Honestly, I don't really get what the hype was about it. Kinda feels like everyone just wants to do some kind of croissant hybrid creation and turn it into the next viral food trend. Cronuts, Supreme Croissant, Crookies, Moissants, Cruffins...It's always croissant mixed with something. The croissant part itself could have been a bit flakier I feel. The mochi was OK. It's more in the centre of the croissant. I didn't really get any mochi at first when I was cutting at the edge of the croissant. I've never really been a huge fan of mochi to begin with so...maybe this wasn't the best croissant hybrid creation for me. Taste wise it wasn't bad. I ordered the Fresh Strawberry Custard Moissant. I enjoyed the custard with the fresh strawberry. Just wasn't keen on the texture of the Moissant. We ordered some drinks, Banh Mi sandwiches, a grilled cheese sandwich and a Totoro Tiramisu as well while we there. The Banh Mi sandwiches are quite good at this place. They make the bread very crispy. I loved their version of grilled cheese sandwich. They served it inside a Supreme Butter Croissant instead of regular bread! It had three types of cheese, vegan mayonnaise and arugula in it as well. This was very unique. I wouldn't hesitate to order this grilled cheese sandwich again. My daughter had a Totoro Tiramisu. It was designed to look like Totoro and was super cute! She said it was a bit heavier though than she'd expected it to be. I ordered an Ube Haze Latte. I think I tasted more Ube in my drink this time than last time when I ordered some kind of Matcha drink and didn't taste much Matcha in it. I was given one of those vibrating pager thingies to collect our order but it was kinda pointless. The thing never buzzed or vibrated. Our orders just got handed to us over the counter. Well...our table was pretty much right next to the counter so the girl could see us and just hand it to us when our order was ready. Still though...why bother handing us a pager if you're not going to use it? I think the food and drink here is kind of hit and miss. They definitely have some eye catching food creations here. It's a fun place to dine. If you're wanting food and drink that actually tastes good though...it's kind of 50/50 at this place. Sometimes the drinks are good and sometimes they're not. Its been awhile since my last visit and their menu has expanded quite a bit to include many unique drinks but of course my eyes go right to the beautiful mocha melon pan that have only gotten more and more creative! On this visit, my friend and I tried out: Hojicha Coffee Cloud (new) - delicious hojicha and milk mix on the bottom (sub oat milk for me) with a whipped coffee topping. I asked for decaf and half sweet and it was perfect! Deliciously hojicha in flavour and a bitter aftertaste from the coffee foam. Jasmine Milk Tea (hot) - simple yet delicious, the jasmine flavour was prominent and it was not too creamy Roasted Chicken Banh Mi - another simple yet well done dish with a good amount of pickled vegetable and roasted chicken breast. Lucky Cat Mochi Melon Pan - my favourite of the entire visit because I LOVE melon pan and was so excited to see one with hojicha and dark chocolate. Perfectly crisp on top and with a beautiful mocha stretch, it wasnt exactly dark chocolate but it didnt matter, so good! Overall, a cute cafe on a busy street that is calming, Vietnamese inspired and 100% delicious. read more

We stopped by in the way back home to grab a drink and some mochi buns for breakfast. The interior looks very cute and cozy. I order their gemicha oolong but turn out they were sold out for the day and have me Japanese milk tea instead. It is very good, none the less. It tastes creamy, sweet and roasty. Although the bun tastes really good, I do find that the look of the bun is not as cute anymore. I got the Oreo tortoro bun and the coffee Pom Pom purin bun. Excellent Vietnamese bakery with vegan banh mi options. I got the vegan lemongrass chicken banh mi ($8.95) and it was ready in 5 minutes. The bread is fluffy, the vegan chicken was marinated well in a rather sweet, savoury sauce, with the usual pickled daikon and carrot, and cilantro. They have a good balance of filling and mochi and the crispy sugary top makes it a sweet treat. I got their new moissant which is a croissant with mochi inside. They are marketing this as a brand new creation and I haven't seen it anywhere else in town. The matcha moissant was good where the filling and mochi didn't make the croissant soggy but the croissant could have been a bit more flaky for my personal liking. I noticed they increased their prices about 20% at the beginning of the year. It is one of the pricier places in the area but considering the amount of work they put into decorating each item it is worth checking out if cute treats is your thing. read more

Basically it didn't stop flushing? I saw the water just swirling non stop. The water level was so high I thought it may flood. On a recent visit to Vancouver BC, my family and I stopped at Broye at the recommendation of a friend. It's a cute bakery/coffee shop with great decorations and ambience. We had ordered pastries to go since we bought them before dinner. Sadly they fell short. The buns were super cute but I didn't think they tasted that great. The moissants were better but not "out of this world" or "must go back and visit" quality... just not my taste maybe. I thought the combination of the croissant and mochi was good. It wasn't as flakey as a croissant but still soft. The fillings were a good texture but I think the flavor was too subtle. I'm glad I tried it but I don't think I'll visit again. read more

Quaint Vietnamese cafe near Fraser and 48th. Parking is available on the side streets. The place has a forest theme. Reminds me of Foret Noire downtown, as well as Ki Cafe in Burnaby. Looks like a family run shop. Staff are friendly. The place serves coffee as well as bubble tea. The pastries including the typical stuff like croissants, but also there are some neat looking (though not too "authentic" looking) anime based pastries. I had the Pompompurin (Japanese cartoon dog) mochi pastry. This thing was rather interesting, as parts of it were flaky, but there was a squishy (mochi) blob in the middle. We stopped in for a light lunch hoping to find some vegan delights. Un/fortunately there was exactly one vegan friendly item- the lemongrass "chkn" banh mi. It made choosing easy and maybe that was for the best because this sandwich was super good! The crusty exterior of the bread was the perfect amount of crunch while the rest of the bread was soft and fluffy. The "chikn" was saucy and full of flavor. I shared some with my non-vegan bf and he was also impressed. The vegan head cheese was super creamy and went well with the light kick of the sauce. One key element I want to point out tho was the missing cucumber spear. I don't think I've ever had a banh mi in my life without cucumber. I've had some pretty "creative" banh mi but there's always been cucumber. Not sure if they ran out or if that's how they make them regularly. Anyway, the sandwich would have more complete with that fresh crunch to balance out all the sauciness. Then bf ordered the okonomi BBQ pork which he devoured. Also saucy and well-seasoned, he thoroughly enjoyed his choice as well. The cafe was very cute, well lit and decorated with plants, murals and other nick knacks. All in all, it was a lovely visit. I just wish the yelper who said "everything here is vegan and gf" was more precise with their writing bc that was not true. It didn't help that Broyé's menu was difficult to view on their website without having select "pick up or delivery" versus allowing the simple option of viewing the menu only. If you check in on Yelp, you get a free sachet of Vietnamese coffee. Whoever was in charge seemed reluctant to give the freebie from the checkin perk, initially telling me it was expired. After I handed my phone over for him to see the offer, he was able to see that there was no expiry date on the offer so he handed me a sachet. It was sort of an awkward interaction. Anyway, I'd be back for another sandwich but it was definitely a bummer that they didn't have any vegan pastry options. This is a cute Vietnamese coffee shop that specializes in cute pastries like the mochi buns and moissants (mochi croissants). We went here on a Sunday around 10:30am and it was not too busy. We got the black sesame coffee, Vietnamese egg coffee, Pikachu mochi bun, and Vietnamese coffee moissant. The black sesame coffee is pretty decent - there is a lot of black sesame so mix well, and it is not too sweet. The Vietnamese egg coffee is very concentrated with a good amount of egg cream. Not the best but it satisfies my Vietnamese coffee cravings. The Pikachu mochi bun is pretty decent - wish there was more mochi inside. The moissant is pretty novel but the croissant is too soft than crunchy outside that I would expect from a "made to order" moissant as mentioned in the display. They just give the moissant straight from the display and hand it to us on the plate without doing anything, and I was expecting it to be toasted. Stopped by for Black Gold combo during hot chocolate festival and to my pleasant surprise, it made for a lovely light lunch with their full size bahn mi. Black Gold was the combination of the cafe's specialty, famous egg coffee, with premium Belgian Callebaut dark chocolate. I had to try out their claims of it being the world famous egg coffee and it did not disappoint. I really enjoyed the dark chocolate flavors. Hope they keep it on the menu even after hot chocolate festival ends. This is a cute cafe that also sells adorable Japanese dessert in addition to Vietnamese coffee and sandwiches. Came here over the weekend with the family for the hot chocolate festival goodies - The environment seemed small and cozy and not overly crowded - you are greeted by displays of delicious pastries in all the cute and fun shapes and designs ! - they also offer Banh mi's and Vietnamese Ice coffees/Lattes ! Anyways - as much as I wanted to try all the other great treats - I was here for the Hot chocolate, so here they are ! - The peacemaker was quite delicious - Pandan with white chocolate mixed heavenly - quite tasty - but the matcha tiramisu that came alongside it was a miss - it had the matcha taste which is awesome ! However , I think the mixture of Matcha with Tiramisu was not to my liking - felt like a mushy mess. Sweet angel - UBE with the chocolate did not sit well - I don't think this mixture is anything to brag about - the cake alongside Purplemisu was a treat though ! On a side note - it was pretty disappointing to have these festival drinks defaulted into a "to-go" cup - even though we stated for here , and had a spot in the Cafe - this was disappointing because , obviously you want nice pictures for the hot chocolate festival - but mainly because they were advertising it on media platforms , as well as had foodie Influencers post these drinks in glass clear cups in order to highlight these drinks and pairings -. This little cafe has such a relaxing and whimsical feel as you walk in and see the hundreds of crane floating on the ceiling. Broye Cafe not only adds their little touch on their decor but much effort is also added to the creative flavours in their pastries, drinks and own branded coffee bean. I was particularly excited to try the hot chocolate from them this year. We tried the The Black Gold One and The Peace maker. The Black Gold is a combination of world famous egg coffee with premium Belgian Callebaut dark chocolate. I particularly loved this one because it has such a nice creamy coffee flavour to it! And to top it off it was paired with a banh mi of your choice! This was such a great pairing with the savoury and sweet! The Peace Maker was just as good too! The Peace Maker hot chocolate is a fusion of tropical pandan and premium Belgian white chocolate. The vibrant green colour is natural and has the perfect amount of pandan and white chocolate flavour and aroma without being overly sweet. And they nailed their pairing again with this one with the Vietnamese Coffee Cake! It has bold coffee flavour without taking away from the drink. Taste buds were doing their happy dance as it went between the pandan and coffee flavours! We even brought some desserts to go to enjoy with our family! The lava cakes were flavourful but it did miss the lava part a bit as the center was hollow even after being toasted up for a few mins. But I would highly recommend their cakes and melon pans! A friend shared an Instagram reel of Broye Cafe a while back, and I'm glad I went and gave it a shot. The moissants (mochi croissants) were surprisingly delicious. I got a Vietnamese coffee moissant, a Totoro oreo and white chocolate melon pan, and rose lychee pea tea. The next day I went back and got a lucky cat peach tea melon pan, minion banana strawberry mochi cookie, and an ube haze latte. Formerly known as Baker and Table, the atmosphere at Broyé still has a cozy eclectic vibe, but with more modern touches. I loved the number of artsy features -- a full wall mural, a coffee-centric photobooth corner, and a flock of origami cranes hanging from the ceiling -- in the re-designed cafe. These DIY pieces added character to the space while also mirroring the beautiful, handcrafted food and drink selection. To start, I tried the ube haze latte and mom's roasted chicken banh mi. The latte was a vibrant swirl of ube and Vietnamese coffee. Taste-wise, the coffee flavour was stronger, but that's not surprising given the bold nature of Vietnamese coffee. Ube is much more subtle, but the sweetness from the purple yam still came through at the end. Meanwhile, the banh mi was packed with flavour. Perfectly toasted bread, juicy chicken, fresh veggies, and an umami rich sauce...absolutely irresistible. There are more banh mis on the menu, but mom's roasted chicken is definitely my favourite. And, of course, I couldn't leave without getting dessert! Much to my relief, there were plenty of melon pans in the display case. I was in the area running errands and decided to stop by to pick up some buns and snacks. It's a Vietnamese-Japanese fusion cafe that took over the old Baker and Table location, which explains why they have both banh mi on the menu as well as the cute melon pan that B&T was known for. They also offer a variety of other drinks, such as lattes, dalgona, Vietnamese coffee, and bubble tea. I tried two melon pan, the Hello Kitty strawberry yuzu ($5.45) as well as the ube ($4.75), as well as a whipped yuzu-ade ($5.75). My friend got the vegan lemongrass chicken banh mi ($6.95) and a free coffee as it was complimentary the week we came for their grand opening. I loved both melon pan, as it tasted like the melon pan I've had in Japan but with fresh fruit AND mochi inside. A really cute little space. I love how these trendy Viet coffeeshops are popping up everywhere and the attention to the fine detail of the decor is noticed and appreciated, from the paper cranes lining the ceiling to the protruding corks leading the eye down to the lightbulb art made of individual coffee beans. This speaks to the artfulness of the cookies and breads on the display in the case - Cheems makes an appearance as do Totoro and Hello Kitty. An abundance of variations of Vietnamese coffee are on the offer, including the elusive Egg Coffee, though a lot of the varieties are served iced only - and it's quite a cold day today. I used to really like this place when it was Baker & Table (a Japanese bakery cafe), but I hadn't visited in a long time since I no longer have appointments in the area. The business has been Broyé for a few years now I think, and offers the same tasty and cute Japanese baked goods from Baker & Table, plus now banh mi and an expanded drink menu featuring Vietnamese drinks. This fusion of food cultures is very unique, and it's cool to have a place to enjoy these different foods under one roof! I was curious about what Broyé is doing so I took the chance to come out and visit them again on my free day. The atmosphere is a little different than I remember from the Baker & Table days, most noticeably, it's way busier! I was there about 2-3 on a Saturday, and I thought I would've missed the lunch rush, but still every table was full when I got there! Luckily one opened up for me while I was waiting for my order. They still had most of their baked good selection available though. The interior also got upgraded. There's now a plant feature on one of the walls and lots of plants scattered around the cafe, a pretty mural on another wall, and paper cranes hanging from the ceiling, which they apparently folded themselves in acknowledgement of the Japanese tradition/legend of folding 1000 paper cranes to make a wish come true. Cool! I got: vegan lemongrass chicken banh mi, ubemisu, and thai green iced tea with coconut jelly. The "ubemisu" (ube tiramisu) met my expectations from how I remembered Baker & Table's treats. The thick ube cream had a lovely flavour and coupled with soft and fluffy cake layers for a very satisfying dessert. I was really happy too with the new Vietnamese offerings! The banh mi was delicious - the vegan chicken was nice and tender and the sauce was super flavourful. Just the right proportions of everything too, so it wasn't messy. The Thai green tea was rather sweet but also had a nice depth of flavour. I got it with coconut jelly which enhanced it well. Don't remember the exact price breakdown but my total was $23, which I think was fair. I really liked the place so much but the one area that leaves something to be desired is that they only have plastic/paper cups and disposable bamboo cutlery, and I saw other people with desserts on plates but I got mine on a disposable tray even though they knew I was dining in (maybe they just ran out of plates). They do have some plates, so they clearly have the capacity to wash dishes. It's just way classier to have real cutlery and glasses/mugs for drinks and not waste so much plastic - there's not even a separate recycle bin in the cafe, so you know most of it is just getting trashed. read more

The interior of the cafe was gorgeous with many cranes hanging from the ceiling, and a lightbulb full of coffee beans that works a a nice backdrop for photos. It's been a while since I visited their previous restaurant called Baker and Table. When I wanted to visit it again, it's now called Broye Cafe and Bakery. It has a complete different look and feel and a different name. Everything is in a good way! The ambience and new interior design is much better than the previous one. The wood and origami cranes with grass and green painting on a wall give a more comfortable, clean, modern, and bright feel for customers to dine in and hang out with family and/or friends. It's more welcoming! I tried their special cold cut banh mi and Ube Haze Latte. Pretty good! I would love to come back and try other flavours. It doesn't matter it's food or drinks. There are many options on their menus. In terms of parking, I would recommend parking in the residential area and walk to the restaurant. Fraser Street is always busy. read more

This little café replaced a previous Japanese café called Baker & Table, but is now owned by owners. They sell similar Japanese style melon buns and pastries, but I believe the new owners are Vietnamese so they have some unique drinks, such as ube, Thai milk tea, and pandan. The interior is really pretty with hanging cranes and touches of hanging lights and greenery. My partner ordered a pandan and I ordered an Espresso Matcha Latte. The pandan drink was quite delicious. It had a subtle pandan flavour but it wasn't too overpowering. My matcha latte was disappointing. Unfortunately the espresso flavour was too overpowering and there was no hint of matcha. Prices are quite steep with a small size over $6 before tax. I'm not sure if it was just us, but another really strange thing that deterred away from our experience was the smell of the café. I'm not sure if they were baking during the time we visited, but upon walking in, the cafe smelled like "bad breath". I'm sorry, but there is no other word I can describe the smell. This is a cute little café you can come to catch up with a friend or spend the afternoon. Unfortunately, I don't think our experience is memorable enough for us to return. read more

They're still serving up their adorable character buns as well as regular melon bun with unique fillings and cookie crust! Not only are they continuing with their character buns, but they also have some fantastic Vietnamese coffee, bubble tea and smoothies! Looking for something more savory? Don't worry! Broye has you covered with their Curry Udon or the Banh Mis. Combo deals are not to be missed out! I got to try the Purple Haze Latte $5.75 (Ube, salted cheese foam, milk, coffee) and the Black Sesame Latte $5.75 as well as the Black Sesame and Earl Grey bun. 10/10 would order again. Such a cute bakery, beautifully decorated. Came here to try out their hot chocolate creation for the hot chocolate festival. The bakery is located on Fraser Street where there is paid parking in the front but if you drive to the residential streets behind, there are some free parking spaces. There were tables available around 11am on a Monday, and after we ordered, the drinks and sandwiches came out quite quickly. The egg coffee with dark hot chocolate was very delicious. Loved the combination. I wanted to try their special cold cuts banh mi but they were sold out so I tried the Xiu Mai banh mi. The sandwich was flavourful and bread was crispy on the outside. Would have liked more filling as I felt like I tasted more bread than meat & veggies. Glad they participated in the Hot Chocolate Fest this year and hope they will again next year! read more

A vietnamese based bakery cafe that has quickly become one of my favourites. I love their vietnamese egg coffee and their matcha version of it ad well. I first tried out this spot during the hot chocolate festival and now I visit it every so often. Another one of my favourite drinks here is their ube milk which is great both warm and cold! Sometimes when I'm feeling hungry I'll order a bahn mi sandwich as well. They taste fresh and the bread also comes out crispy. There could be a bit more filling in the sandwiches but I don't mind too much. I also like that they offer drink and dessert/sandwich combos to try out both items for a deal if you wish! read more

A unique Japanese/Vietnamese/French fusion cafe in the heart of Vancouver! Broyé features an array of unique breads, drinks, and desserts from their delicious melonpans to their banh mi and Japanese curry meals! I greatly enjoyed my visit this time. The service was quick and considerate and the staff was super friendly. I loved how everything was vegan/gluten free, so there's something for everyone! There's tons of seating and bright light, making it another great study spot option for students located near Central/East Vancouver. Everything was delicious, especially their new vegan banh mi and melonpan! They've definitely improved a lot with their melonpans since it wasn't worthwhile and as good as everyone made it seem when it was a smaller cafe under the name Baker + Table. With that in mind, I'm very glad to see how far they've come and all the improvements with Broyé. My only issue is that regardless if you're dining in or ordering take-out, they'll always serve your beverage in a single-use paper cup and charge you for it. So, remember to bring your own mug/cup to avoid the extra fee. read more

Formerly known as Baker and Table, they now have new owners and I liked how they redecorated the interior to make it more warm and welcoming. There is plenty of seating inside to get together with friends for a quick catch-up. They now also include some Vietnamese inspired drinks and banh mi sandwiches to their offerings. I got the black sesame black sesame Vietnamese cafe which was quite good but wished it was a little less sweet. They still serve the mochi buns that Baker and Table were known for and they still have the same great quality! read more

I initially deleted my previous review because I felt bad at first, but after consideration and talking about this conversation I had with the owner of this establishment I realized they weren't exactly trying to be considerate. They were in fact trying to bribe me out of my "bad" review. I have listed my previous review down below. I regret taking it down knowing other consumers probably went through a similar experience. The owner reached out to me via dm claiming they wanted to compensate for my drink. However, after some more chit chatting, he ended the conversation off by asking me to take down the review. UPDATE: editing my review: do not order them through delivery! I'm not sure why they seem incapable of understanding their own menu items or what but I ordered the matcha mochi bun, with their own listing saying "...this fluffy BREAD, with a crispy cookie chocolate..." yet TWICE they sent me the matcha lava cake. The second time I also ordered their coffee, and they sent me the 12 oz, when I ordered and paid for the 16oz. However, and this isn't their fault entirely, but due to my requesting of a refund last time (due to their sending of the wrong item), this time when they packed the wrong item AND wrong size of the coffee, I could not get a refund. So I guess they can have the price difference I paid but they should really work on knowing their own menu and items, and really paying closer attention to packing their orders. I originally really enjoyed this place as stated before, but I'm really disappointed by this recent business practice and it's safe to say I will not be back. Hands down my favorite place for vietnamese coffee! Everytime I visit Van, it's a must go for me. My go to is the Bac Siu which I believe is a light version of vietnamese coffee with condensed milk. I can't speak for its authenticity but I've always been a sucker for sweet things and this one definitely hit the spot! It almost tasted like a chocolate milk! I also tried a few of their mochi buns, my favorite being the black sesame one with a black sesame paste inside. However, for the buns I don't feel like it's that worth it at the price point it is, unless I have a craving that must be met haha. Someday I'll be back to try their other offerings such as their banh mi's etc. But I will definitely get the coffee again! read more
