This is one of my favorite restaurants in town! The atmosphere is great, and I love how they transformed the old greyhound bus station into such a beautiful restaurant. I would definitely recommend calling ahead and making a reservation, because if you don't there is usually always a wait. Bru Burger also has a great cocktail menu, and I have loved every drink I've tried. The Stilton is by far my favorite burger. Pro tip: they offer a free dessert for your birthday! read more

We've made many trips to see family in evansville, and this particular trip has been an awful foodie trip, with the exception of BRU. Our burgers were fantastic, and even the popcorn shrimp for the kiddos was amazing! We will be back to BRU next trip! The place was packed on a Monday night. Can't say that about many restaurants around here. Stumbled in to this place looking for burgers and beers. The seas parted, clouds gave way, and I believe we heard angels humming (if not outright singing) in the background. Arrived around 530 p.m. or so and place was sparse. Sat at bar and got zero service for longest time. Began to wonder if bar area was closed. Finally the bartender shows up, takes drink orders, and hands us menus. Solid draft beer selection. Numerous burgers to choose from and side of fries or onion rings. Burgers were flawless and flavorful. The side of onion rings was huge and likewise perfect. Prices were competitive. Indoor & outdoor seating available. The prices are high, the vegan and vegetarian options are few, and there's not much diversity within the staff. . I don't know what's going on, but it's not the kind of vibe I'm looking for. Our party of 6 dined here for lunch. We enjoyed sitting outside. Our server was kind and attentive. The pretzel sticks and beer cheese were delicious. My daughter loves getting the Mexicali burger when she visits (modified for her gluten and dairy allergy). If you do have allergies, they do a good job of communicating that to the kitchen. My parents split the Buttermilk Cobb salad and a burger (I don't remember which one) and said both were really tasty. We would definitely return. read more

Super cute location (an old greyhound bus station) and most importantly-Best burger ever. My boyfriend and I came on for a late night meal. We started with the pretzels as an appetizer...YUM! The pretzels were soft, warm and perfectly salted. The beer cheese and spicy mustard were perfect compliments. I just wish we had ordered beer instead of craft cocktails since they were a bit of an expensive disappointment. I ordered the Stilton Bleu Cheese Burger and it was the perfect combination of sweet and savory that literally left me moaning as I ate it. It was that good! If you don't believe me, try it yourself. My boyfriend opted for the Lamb Burger and said it was also very good. Why not a perfect score you ask...As mentioned, the craft cocktails were not very flavorful, not strong, we just could have done without them. And when I order a $12 burger, I feel a restaurant should throw in fries with them. Fries are cheap (as in not expensive to the restaurant) and round out the experience of a great burger. At Bru Burger you have to pay an extra $2 to add them...not the end of the world, but come on..I don't want to feel nickel and dimes on a $12 Burger. read more

All I have been hearing about since December of 2016 is how great this place is, so in my usual fashion, I had to hurry right down and try it out ... a year and a half later. Operating out of the historic Greyhound bus station, a Moderne-style building built in 1938, the structure has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since 1979. The restaurant reportedly makes everything from scratch, even down to the homemade ketchup, and anything that can be locally sourced is, from area farmers. Everything is à la carte, so choices can get costly. The cup of chili was good as an appetizer. My main course, the ominous-sounding End Burger, featured horseradish havarti, an over easy egg, tomato, caramelized onions, shredded lettuce, and truffle aioli, which is a fancy name for mayo. The burger was ordered medium, but was a little south of medium well - zero hint of pink. I was a little concerned about the power of the horseradish to overpower the burger, but it actually could have used more; likewise on the mayo. If I ordered it again, I'd order extra of both on the side. Once I broke the egg yoke, I couldn't really taste either of the other two any longer. The fries were disappointing. Very seasoned but on the well done side - no longer crispy but more at pre-burnt. The onion rings were better with the large cuts and plentiful battering. The Viking Lamb Burger came with cucumber sauce, feta-olive relish, and veggies. Again, because lamb is so lean, a little more of the dressings may have evened out the natural dryness of the meat. There are a few other items on the menu I would like to try, but I would either sit in the bar area or order a to-go order next time since the service was really disappointing. The wait staff of a more high-end restaurant should know the menu intimately. Each waitress/waiter should be fully knowledgeable on every single dish and ingredient. Our waitress was lacking in her ability to answer questions on the individual dishes, outside of "that's one of my personal favorites." In addition, when I requested leftover containers, she did not offer to box up the items, even though it was slow; she only had two other tables, and there was plenty of time. I also requested some additional ketchup containers for the enormous amount of burnt fries I had left over. Instead of bringing me sealed to-go containers of ketchup, she actually brought me the empty plastic containers to salvage what I had left from my meal. I may be being petty, but if I am spending $75 on a meal, and that is without alcohol or dessert, those are some very minor extras that go a long way. In addition, since I was doing all the work, that turned my usual $20+ tip into a seven dollar tip. Our most recent visit to Brubrger was incredibly disappointing. The burger had a strange flavor and wasn't as well done as I had ordered. My husband's fries weren't even all the way done. The hostess was clearly not happy to be there. Our waitress was nice enough, but there was a huge gap in time where she never checked back with us during our meal. Only in time to collect our payment. Especially for the amount they charge ($100 without tip for 3 adult burgers, 1 salad and 2 kid's meals), they need to up their game. read more

So Bru burger is very hard to miss... or very easy to miss depending if you thought it was a restaurant or an old bus station. We definitely didn't know what to expect, so we first saw a huge blue building with a large greyhound sign, thought we were lost, then saw a small bru burger sign. Luckily, parking wasn't too hard to find, there is street parking or a small parking lot you can use. We had a fairly large party so we went upstairs to a private room with a number of high-tops. The waitress's were nice and came by frequently to ensure we had plenty of drinks. There was a good mix of liquor and beers (wide selection of draft beers available - as befitting a burger joint). Good selection of whiskies and scotch's, prices were fairly reasonable as well (though it is Evansville, not NYC). In terms of food, I got the wings and the "melt your face off" burger. The wings were great and delicious, just the right amount of flavoring and crisp, with a delicious dipping sauce. The burger was also delicious and fairly hot as well. Meat was tender and very delicious, definitely one of the better burgers I got. Will be coming back here in the near future! read more

The food was good, but we waited so long for everything. I could have gone to the store, made a drink, drank it, and returned, by the time we got a second drink. The food took 47 minutes. There were two of us. Date night. Now, the drinks... one was good, one was way too sweet, I gave that one back and they returned right away with a different drink. However, when we were both ready for a second drink, it took as long as the food. For meals, my boyfriend ordered the end burger, which he said was amazing. His fries were cold, and had to be sent back. I got the blackbean burger as a lettuce wrap. Absolutely delicious! With a side of fruit, which was good. Yes! A great burger place in an old bus station. Had a bourbon blue cheese burger and a Peary Returned to Indiana with my son stopped in again and I have to update my rating. The reason is simple. Our server was Ellie and she is probably the BEST Server wE have ever had Her recommendations were more than spot on. We like it when servers have definite opinions and She did. My family's first time here. Heard good things from friends and it turns out they were right. Very neat building and nice atmosphere inside. Friendly and quick service. Food was delicious and served in large portions. Would probably not get the onion rings again. The batter was very thick and fluffy-more batter than onion. Lots of specialty burgers for you to choose from... Oh, and the fries are very nicely done and served with a house-made... they call it ketchup, but I called it crack cocaine! The chic concept of the bar is def a millennial haven. I always sit at the bar to sample local brews. This was my second visit to this restaurant. The beginning burger has American cheese, mayo, mustard, ketchup which is my fav. My menu choice the second time was the bru burger with taleggio cheese, bacon, tomato, jam, caramelized onion, chopped lettuce, mayo which was a bust. I was being daring which usually is dangerous. I plan to try the Viking lamb burger next time since it's supposed to resemble a gyro. Is there a craft beer flight on the menu and I overlooked it? The pineapple ale was refreshing. My fav fav fav restaurant in Evansville! From their apps to their burgers to their salads- I can't pick my favorite item, because they are all so great! BUT if I had to choose...Some of my personal favs include: the pretzel sticks, triple dip appetizer (bury me in the goat cheese + peppadew jam, plz), Valencia salad, & garlic three cheese burger (sub veggie burger). I've been here so many times, and have never had a bad experience. The service is great. Drinks are yummy. Wellll worth the price of their food and drinks!
