Seriously terrible bagels. Stopped by one early morning looking for a nice, fresh, hot bagel! Got a tiny, rubbery bagel that was terrible. To make it worse, the guy who took my money and counted and handed me my change never changed his gloves before he grabbed the bagels with his hands! Gross! Three then out after two bites and went to another place to get my bagel fix!! Highly recommend avoiding this place!! read more

Bruegger's Bagels - Bagels Near Me - Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania

Honestly one of the worst bagel sandwiches I've ever had. The bagel itself was about 3 inches in diameter, the egg was tiny, small strip of cheap bacon and cheap cheddar cheese. Seriously, if you were going to call yourself a 'bagel factory' you need to produce good bagels. It's not really that hard. It's like they're not even trying. read more

A buddy took me here when I was visiting him in the Haverford area. He said that this is his go to place on Thursdays because they run a special. He had called in his bagel order and his bags were waiting for him when we arrived. He swears by Pumpernickel and never wants to miss out. Having grown up in NorthEast Yonkers in a Jewish neighborhood, I think I have a good taste for bagels. These were good, the price for a Bakers Dozen is fare and I could see going here again if in the area. Also had a Pastrami and Swiss sandwich on rye bread. That was a great tasting sandwich, but nearly enough meat on it to truly satisfy me, but probably is for the local college Co-Eds. read more

I have heard a lot of great things about the Bagel Factory and was excited to try it out. While I was a bit disappointed that it was actually a Bruegger's Bagels under a different name with a few minor differences. Still, I had a nice time. I came in and was welcomed by the staff member working here. I browsed over the menu a little bit, but I was a bit familiar with the menu as it was the same as Bruegger's. There were a few minor changes like a larger variety of breakfast sandwiches. I decided to go with three everything bagels and one honey oat bagel. The bagels themselves were both similar to Bruegger's though, these bagels did taste a bit fresher and the dough tasted better. That was the biggest difference for me! Also, the Bruegger's I usually go to tends to run out of bagels pretty fast. However, this location was not running low on bagels. At the time I was in, only one staff member was working that seems like if could be problematic if there is a larger crowd. However, there was possibly more staff in the back, which I could not see. This location does not have outdoor seating. Altogether, this is a nice place to pickup some fresh, tasty bagels! read more

Very disappointed in our last visit. Things have gone downhill. No more fresh eggs. In fact, falsely advertised fresh eggs. Big deduction for that. In fact, I'd drop the rating from two to one star for lying about the egg...not cool. A fresh cooked egg is an egg that is cooked to order. They changed their process. No longer do they crack a fresh egg and toast a bagel for a fresh tasting breakfast sandwich. They now have a bin of eggs that they keep warm (read slightly dried out and over cooked eggs). They cook real eggs themselves but they do it en masse and fill the bin now. They also no longer use the good old conveyor toaster. New method: take a bagel, stick a precooked egg, precooked bacon, and cheese on it and throw the whole thing in a high speed oven. Makes for an untoasted chewy bagel with over melted cheese and a dry egg. They also throw a bunch of pepper and salt on there which was unwelcome. Way too much pepper. You better tell people you do that and also tell them you can't toast their bagel anymore when they order. Might as well be Panera. This is why i stopped going there too. Similar process...at least they get a little crunch going with their press cooker. Bad work out of you guys. Don't think I'll be coming here anymore unless they go back to a proper fresh made sandwich. Not a great experience. I went here twice and was mostly disappointed but if you stick with what is tried and true - the bagel - you'll probably be fine. This place is sad to watch as they really just need to get their act together. The staff and people working here seem out of sync and not capable and this is probably due to mismanagement and training. They were pleasant just not up to the task. Maybe it was just two bad days in a row. First, nothing turns me off more than finding at a bagel and coffee place no sugar and the sugar container with the packets clearly had coffee poured into it and then dried. It wasn't like this just happened and I wasn't here at peak time - they just simply weren't paying attention and left this. Bagel I paid extra for butter for had basically no butter on it at all. I had to request add'l butter. Bagel wasn't really toasted - it was soft and luke warm at best. I did like the coffee so there was that. Sandwich I had was small and substandard. Again, stick with the bagels and you'll probably be fine. I liked my Cinnamon Sugar bagel when they get it toasted right (second one they semi-managed but it still wasn't really toasted much). Bottom line - the ingredients are there but someone needs to work with the staff and get the people machine running properly. read more

I really do enjoy this quirky spot for a last-minute breakfast decision. I was on the road and needed somewhere to stop-in quick to get breakfast and happened upon this little spot. Parking was easy for a busy day, and service was pretty quick. I ordered the farm-styled bagel sandwich, and it was delicious! A great combination of sauces, egg, cheese, meat and bagel - it's the best fast bagel breakfast I've had. Even the bagel had its own hash-brown style - so unique and genius! My only complaint would be the staff, they seemed very short with me, and even seemed to be arguing among themselves. It made a very awkward transaction, but as soon as I got my bagel I was out! It was a tad bit pricey for the value - but I will say this one is worth it if there's no tense exchange. Overall, great bagel sandwiches at a convenient location. read more

This is the worst place ever and literally looks like it's falling apart! They had no bagels! The workers do not care they are lazy and move in slow motion. I've heard the phone ring countless times and they just walked by. Not only that but the worker handled money and then proceeded to make the food with the same nasty gloves!!!! There has obviously been a shift in management and staff. Although the inside us a little dated the staff is not. There are friendly faces and people that seem to really care when they say hello and have a great day. The food quality has definitely improved, too. read more

The salmon lox bagel was OK. It was missing red onions that was supposed to come on it. Ordered thru Uber eats. The app makes you select a hash brown. I chose 2 orders of the same thing, sandwich and hash brown. They sent two sandwiches and one has brown. Insisted that the ticket order only listed one. I didn't feel like arguing. But next time I'll be calling to clarify. Plus 10.99 for a delivery fee is too steep! Ugh. read more

Food is subpar, order taking awfully slow (one register on a Sunday morning) but will never return b/c the place is visibly filthy. Check out what appears to be mold inside the food case just inches from the Lox. And scraps of food that appears to have been there for ages. This place had the best breakfast sandwiches in the area roughly 5-10 years ago. Bruegger's bought them out a few years ago and it took a little while before it switched from the old Bagel Factory deliciousness to Bruegger's hot pile of garbage. Wawa breakfast sandwiches are cheaper and tastier. Delancey St Bagels in Wynnewood have FAR better bagels, if you plan to buy in bulk or just want a bagel shmear. "The Bagel Factory" aka Bruegger's has 0 redeeming qualities and brings nothing to the bagel/breakfast sandwich game in this area. I've loved going to the bagel factory for over 10 years. A few years ago it came under new ownership and the quality​ of the bagels​​s took a hit but they are still very good. In the past 2 months,​ I've gone into the store 4 times and all 4 times they could only take a cash payment. Now I'm not sure if that has been that way for 2 months​ straight or if the machine​​e keeps breaking. Either way its bad. The bagels are now some of the best I can get, but only because other places have since closed. I used to come for lunch and get sandwiches, but in the past few years the quality dropped heavily. It's probably about time I try to give them another try to see if different staff are any better. The scallions in my scallion cream cheese looked to have actually been prepared in a factory then shipped twelve hundred miles in an unrefrigerated truck with worn-out suspension. Bagel Factory used to be a staple of my Saturday and Sunday mornings growing up on the main line. Unfortunately the bagel factory has now completed their transition to a Brueggers and the bagel quality and customer service has taken a nose dive. In the past you would have to deal with an occasional incorrect order -- which is entirely tolerable at a fast paced bagel spot. Brueggers has destroyed a main line staple. Showed up at 6 am. Their hours said they are open. Two employees in the store. They aren't open. I knock. They ignore me. They see me. Eventually they just look at me and shake their head and start talking to me from 30 feet away as if I can hear them and shake their head and laugh. Not sure what's up at this place. read more

This place used to be a 4 or 5 star Villanova college crowd breakfast joint for us. But lately it has taken a total nosedive, all because of the manager. Yes, one person can completely ruin the ambiance of a meal such that we now only visit (the last remaining, I should add) Bagel Factory as a last resort. She barks at people, yells, can't even force a smile, and from what other employees say in private, is a pretty mean-spirited individual. We have watched all the nice pleasant cheerful workers leave over time, mentioning the obvious reason, the manager. Is the food as good as before? I suppose, but the manager must go if my review is ever going to go higher. read more

Its been said, that more than any of our senses ,smell, can evoke memories the most effectively. A certain perfume whisks me back to an old girlfriend, getting into my car. The smell of a rubber ball, makes my face sting, as games of dodge ball and bombardment swirl around my head. And the smell of a freshly baked bagel reminds me of a time when I was forced to grow the hell up. Forget about the fact that I had already been a police officer, I had already lived in Europe for a time, I had already fell in love and married, the short yet meaningful walk, from Bryn Mawr Hospital to The Bagel Factory was as sobering a hike as there was. Nothing prepares you for becoming a parent. Reading all the tomes necessary to be a better parent, doesn't prepare one for that strange moment where a life is created that you are responsible for, both in the creation and upkeep. It had happened quickly. From the time I was awoken at 6am, to the time my daughter was born at 8:30, things were a blur. Once the baby was wrapped up, and mom cleaned up, I was able to unclench, and realized I was starving. I was assured by both a nurse and the new mom that it would be OK to go get some breakfast and that my strength and well-being was just as important as mom and baby's. I snubbed the cafeteria, feeling I needed some fresh air, and maybe a walk. I noticed The Bagel Factory was nearby and headed there. The smells coming from the little shop broke me out of the sad task of trying to get my head around recent events. I had just began working at a bakery myself, but these were hand made bagels made fresh on premises. Call it being stunned, call it hunger, but I was drawn to the place like geese to breadcrumbs. This was almost 12 years ago, but I still remember getting a bacon, egg and cheese breakfast sandwich and a large coffee, and it was as good a meal as Id had. I kept thinking silly things like, " This is my first meal as a father" and imagining that someone will call me dad. My time in The Bagel Factory was brief yet memorable. Somehow I had the presence of mind to buy my wife her favorite, Cinnamon Raisin bagel with butter, before I left. She earned it. I headed back to BMH, feeling better for having eaten, with a spring in my quickening step, excited to get back and see my daughter. I should end this story here, with its happy ending, but sadly, life doesn't always play like a Disney movie. Upon returning to the room, I was met with the sad and concerned faces of the doctor and my wife. The recently purchased bagel, and the one in my belly, suddenly became very heavy. I was told that there were complications with the baby and that she had been taken to the NICU. Its funny how quickly the best day of your life can quickly become the worst. Details of this event are better left for another time. Its only important to know that Baby Sarah, had given her parents a horrible scare. There was bleeding in her cranium and she needed to be observed for a few days. It was a hard time, to be sure, but compared to other situations in the NICU, we were thankful that it only lasted a few days and we were able to take her home, in due time. I was amazed when they just told us it was OK to go. " What! Really? We can just take her home?" This, followed by my wife and i laying her car seat down in the middle of the living room , looking at the baby and saying to each other, "Now What?" So it was an OK ending after all (That chapter, anyway). The wonderful smells emanating from The Bagel Factory , went back to being a good memory. Instead of yelling at new employees maybe try to help them so orders don't go out wrong(I watched 4 wrong orders while waiting 10min for a non toasted bagel to go) and she rudely told me to have patience. Used to come to Bagel Factory all the time when I was in middle and high school, especially at the Wayne and Berwyn locations (which are now closed). My family's typical routine every Sunday was to stop at Bagel Factory after church and grab brunch to take home and eat. As we got older, the routine became less and less but still managed to go occasionally either together as a family or individually. Growing up my brother and I would ALWAYS order the pizza bagel but as we got older our orders became more sophisticated. My go-to (still to this day) is 2 ham, egg, and cheese on an egg bagel not toasted. It has been a staple of mine for years and I refuse to change, no matter how many people tell me to. I came to the Bryn Mawr location about a week ago to grab breakfast to eat on a bus to a high school indoor track meet (I am a coach, I don't just randomly go to watch track meets). The place at 10am was pretty crowded, with what seemed to be a lot of Villanova students. I waited about 15 minutes for my order to be complete, and was out of there just in time for the bus. It is never a super long wait there, as the kitchen staff is always working hard to get the orders out and surprisingly I have not witnessed a mistake in someone's order. My ham, egg, and cheese was good but for some reason did not live up to what I remembered. The ham was not grilled at all, which definitely changed the way things tasted for me. Aside from that, I had no other complaints! Would definitely go back again, and maybe see if the ham could be grilled. read more

Never failing to accent her conversation with eye-rolling, heavy sighs, and exasperated headshaking, Bagel Factory's merry staff will ensure you leave knowing you are little more than a burden to them. I come here every Sunday to grab a dozen of the multigrain. They are the best in the area. Just make sure that you wrap them in the plastic bag and store them in the fridge. They will be good for a week. Plus they sell "last night's bagels" for $2.49/6, which is a good option for those lazy weekend days. Dunkin donuts doesn't even come close. The bagels' consistency is a bit softer than Manhattan's. read more

How do you not like the bagel factory?!?! The bagels are spot on and super fluffy and yummy!! Patricia, whom usually is working the cash register is the sweetest person, her joy is amazing! The manager, I am assuming, and sadly I do not know her name, she has an accent is also great and super friendly! When I arrived at the Bagel Factory around 9:45 am on a weekday morning, only half the tables were taken. I appreciated both the free wifi and that several outlets were visible in the dining area, which are so helpful when you want to work or study for a couple of hours. I waited in line for a minute or so. A man who brought his bagel back to the counter experienced the incorrect order that other yelp reviewers have complained about; they had put cream cheese on his bagel instead of butter. They sent the bagel back and I believe the order was corrected quickly. The cashier wasn't the friendliest person, at least not at first, but she also wasn't rude (but I also didn't ask for any substitutions or unusual alterations to my order that might have invited a snub). I ordered the whole wheat everything bagel with light cream cheese on the side. The cashier repeated my order back to me, down to "dine in" or "take out." I requested a cup for water, and the cashier apologized that they were so small. It took perhaps five minutes for my bagel to show up in the pick-up window, but my order was correct. The bagel had a very nice texture and chew. My only wish was that the bagel hadn't been left in the oven so long because the garlic and onion granules were a bit burnt. I stopped here during the Sunday late morning rush, which was a huge mistake. It was filled with too many college students that acted as if they were experiencing their first hangovers because they took so long to order, even though the line was out the door. Once I got to the front of the line the cashier was friendly and efficient. I was impressed with how fast they could cut up bagels. There wasn't anywhere to sit, plus the place was noisy, so we took our bagels to go. The bagels tasted great and I would come back for more! This is not the Bagel Factory anymore, but Bruegger's Bagels. It's changed. I only went once since the change. Basically they forgot my order. I waited 10-15 minutes... probably a little too long before saying something. Nicely asked. Some lady barked back at me she didn't have my order. If I remember correctly, another co-worker directed her to "just make it". I appreciated that normal person stepping in and handling the situation appropriately. The food is amazing, when they get the order right. I've been here at least 30 times over the years and I can count on one hand the number of times my order was correct. Instead of a friendly hello, you have to deal with the surly manager who scolds her employees in front of customers. I don't want to see that! Its very uncomfortable to watch! I get it, its a busy place, mistakes will be made, but to scold them in public? I really miss the old manager, but last I heard, she and her husband opened up their own restaurant in Philadelphia.
