Big fan of Brueggers. Grew up eating it and was delighted to have a location so close to my new home in Denver. The service has immensely improved over the years. The bagels have stayed consistently good. They don't always have what I want, but are constantly cranking out more batches of bagels. It's the best when you get a bagel from a fresh batch. I've never been disappointed with the food here. They always load up the extra cream cheese and it's a fairly quick stop, depending on how busy they are. I am not a huge Brueggers coffee lover, it's a tad sweet for my liking. But they offer other drinks like Celsius and Snapple, so they've got you covered in one way or another. Came in to grab some bagel sandwiches this Saturday morning and every single employee was lovely to interact with. The bagels were hot, toasted perfectly, delicious egg and sausage. The store is clean and the music upbeat. The best party was the girl (blonde, not sure her name) working the cashier. She was just SO kind, engaging, and nice. It honestly made our whole experience. I don't understand the bad reviews. Yes, the parking here can be trying, but other than that I have had a wonderful experience with getting my bagels and customer service. The bagels are AMAZING. I drive 30 minutes just to buy bagels here. They are truly New York style bagels. I won't purchase bagels anywhere else as I am always disappointed. I always buy 12 bagels and freeze some. I love the cinnamon and sugar bagel. I have never had to wait more than a few minutes to get my bagels and cream cheese. The place is always clean and orderly. read more

The store is clean; however, their customer service is slow and it's not ever even crowded in here also they were eating food while working which was just not sanitary. Food prices are cheaper than others BUT their bagels are also smaller! Would just rather go to other shops where I pay a little more to be filled up. This place wins two awards: smallest bagels and worst customer service. Ding ding ding. They got a thousand members working behind the counter yet they force you to wait. Makes 0 sense why they don't have someone taking the orders and the rest of the staff fulfilling them..... Coffee I got here was gross. Hard to mess up coffee, but they found a way. Bagel was tiny and for $1.70 worth of cream cheese - pathetic what I received. Could've bought an 8oz tub at Whole Foods for pennies more. This place is a pass. read more

All they need is a simple sign that says "Order Here". Instead you have 15 people confused on whether to order at the register or fight through the tables to get to the other side. I never do reviews but when the employees tell me that the management doesn't want an "order here sign" then you have to toss up a note. read more

Empty when I showed up, but they were working on an order. I counted 6 people behind the counter and not one person greeted me. I waited. They were talking amongst themselves about personal things, so they had time to just say "hi, we will be right with you". I guess because they are guaranteed customers based on proximity to the university, they don't care about service. Funny enough, I went into Starbucks after, it was packed and service was amazing. I was greeted, then remembered by an employee and thanked when I left. An average Bruegger's, the bagels are delicious and they don't skimp on the cream cheese but they are often out of the asiago bagels which are my favorite. The employees are laid back but get the job done and the large windows make for a nice environment if you decide to eat your bagel there, I've even stayed and done work on my computer there which is nice as well. read more

Stale bagels and cold as soon as we picked them up! Don't think it was worth getting these bagels! Texture was not great

I've tried this place several times. The latest was on 12/6 at 10:00am. Ordered through DoorDash and my order was immediately cancelled because they didn't have the ingredients. I changed my order and added a note to substitute or call if they were out of anything. Again, order was cancelled immediately. I tried calling, but no answer. This is a repetitive problem. If you don't want to fulfill orders online, shut your doors so they won't be dashed. Horrible customer service. read more

The TERRIBLE service ruined my favorite bagel in Denver. We don't really have good bagels in Denver but at least we have Brueggers. However, the service has kept getting worse and worse. Between the ridiculous long wait (I was the only one there, that makes no sense and they are not under staffed) and the rudeness, I kind of hate this place now. The guy who checked me out forgot to give me my coffee for like 8 minutes and just left. And the dude with his dumb maga hat that was making my sandwich was was rude and it took forever to get a sandwich done. Good food. Bad attitude. Filthy floors. Bickering employees who cannot stop gossiping...I'd go somewhere else. Quick update... I received a reply from someone who identifies as a "Business Manager." It was actually typical of the generic replies by Bruegger's to most critical reviews I've seen. I have been to Bruegger's a number of times over the past few months. There is a lot of room for improvement. Here are a few recommendations. 1. Deploy "secret shoppers" to eat at the restaurant over several days and observe what takes place. 2. Instruct employees to vacuum the carpets. Every time I ate at Bruegger's the carpets were littered with food scraps and other trash. 3. Tell employees to stop gossiping about other employees and complaining about the workplace within earshot of customers. 4. Suggest that employees not argue or yell at each other within earshot of customers. 5. Remind employees that friendly attitudes toward customers is a big plus. Customers shouldn't feel that they are bothering employees. 6. Employ a consistent cash policy. Sometimes I have been told they do not accept cash--other times they do accept cash. Bruegger's should be consistent and decide whether or not they take cash. Remember--customers have options when it comes to restaurants. Personally, I won't return and I will encourage friends to seek other alternatives. read more

They have the best bagels and I keep coming back for everything southwestern. While getting Wednesday dozen deal, one of the male cashier was talking to the lady who was taking the orders from me and I was getting quite annoyed. She had hard time hearing me and i wasnt happy having to repeat. She suddenly yelled at me and the cashier that both of us talking to her at the same time, she cant hear a thing. Ha? Shockingly surprised at her attitude and lack of training. Its the end of Dec 2015 n very hard to get qualified employees but this employee was way out of her line. Why the 4 star rating? My everthing bagel was hot, right out of the oven. the other making the sandwich did magic to the bacon. It was the best bagle sandwich I had, hence obnoxious employee wouldn't deter me leaving 4 . 9/27/16 OMG: to die for fresh baked muffins. these ones had holes in the middle. Bruegger's Bagels food is actually pretty good, if you're pressed for time and want a quick bite it's not a bad option. What makes this a miserable experience is the service. The staff are genuinely laughably rude, loud and indignant. Consistent arguing and gossiping slows down orders significantly. Customers are treated as mild annoyances, intruders breaking into the staffs familiar hangout spot. I feel like a mother asking their teenager to turn off the tv and do their dishes, I just want a BAGEL. When an order is received with eye rolling, I want to stick a 10 dollar bill in the cash register, jump over the counter, make my own bagel and promptly leave. To make the most out of your experience, enter with some noise cancelling headphones, take your food and just get out. read more

Thieves and Shite Bagels. Paid my $7 bill with a $20, she gives me two fives in change. When I ask where's the rest, she points to a sign saying no cash. I asked if she was going to tell me she short-changed me, she had no reply. Then why did you take my $20? If you only had one $5 bill in the drawer, would you have just handed me that and kept the rest? If you don't want to take cash fine, but don't accept it if you can't give change. I use cash all the time, this is the only place that can't break a $20. And she didn't even care enough to get out of her chair to ring me up, nice look. BEWARE if you pay with cash - count your change! Who know how much they've stolen from others. And the bagels were barely warmed, never mind toasted, and doughy as ever. Never going back. I hope they have a better day tomorrow, but today was bad. So I walk in and there's not one person in line or eating at the tables. Should have been a clue. Hip hop music with cussing being blared on the radio, super family friendly. They did not have the bagel I wanted (sesame). I got my sandwich and while eating it, I discovered four hairs in one half of it. I did not keep digging through it as I was repulsed. I LOVE Brueggers bagels and drove from the other downtown location here because the other one was closed. This was so unsatisfying and disgusting. I'll never be back to this location. Oh man. I had THE strangest experience this morning trying to get a bagel. I will preface this post by saying that I have ordered literally hundreds of bagels at this location - I went to grad school at DU and would stop by often during those years. I have had many great experiences previously, so thanks to the former employees who always made me feel welcome. I hope this message makes it to someone who can utilize it to improve customer relations.. If you are a customer who doesn't want to read my whole saga, take this and run: do not call in to order - you will not get your food. This morning I called in and ordered a bagel. I live south of university and work in the DTC, so it's out of my way to go here but I woke up early to satisfy my bagel craving. Calling in helps me cut down on the time it takes. However, last time I called, they informed me once I arrived that they were out of bagels (didn't say anything on the phone) so I was hoping this experience would be more successful (spoiler: I didn't get a bagel this morning either). So I walk in, approach the counter, and tell the girl working that I'm here to pick up my bagel. She looks at me like I have 12 heads. There's a few more girls standing and sitting behind her who resonate the same confusion/disgust at my request. "We don't have any order for you." "Did you call the right store?" "We've all been here all morning and none of us took that order." Ok..... so now I feel like I've totally lost my mind. No one offers to get me a bagel despite some sort of clear miscommunication with unknown origin. So I walk out, grab a coffee from next door, and go back to my car to check what number I dialed. I double checked on Google and my call log. I definitely called the number listed for this location. I call the number back and ask for the address of the location I'm on the phone with... the call goes silent. I walk back in the store and one of the girls who had looked at me like I was out of my dang mind is holding the phone, looking at the other two girls, and their eyes are all saying the same thing: "....sh*t..." So now that we've established that I did call the right location, someone at that location did take my order, and I am not some crazy lady imagining I ordered a bagel - they tell me that they were making my bagel and I just walked out before... (no one ever said a bagel was being made and it's hard to imagine you can make a bagel and stare at customers with "GTFO" eyes at the same time) and a lady who I believe to be the manager asked me, "do you want a bagel or not?!" No. I did not want a bagel after all that (well I did, but I was thinking whoever made my bagel there probably would have spit in my food the way they treated me so I wasn't going to risk it). Listen, I still bartend on the weekends. I've worked at bagel shops, coffee shops, restaurants, bars.. I've even done catering. I know working in food service is tough. But the way the employees treated me this morning is just unacceptable. You shouldn't b*tch out customers, even if they are totally in the wrong, but especially if YOU are the one who made a mistake. For a bagel shop they are generally lacking in...bagels. The last 4 times I've gone in to get a plain bagel they have been out, and have maybe 2 or three available in other flavors. Pretty disappointed for a multitude of reasons. I've come here a few times and have a roommate that visits frequently. The last two times I've been I've been charged for toppings I never received. I brought it to the cashiers attention today and informed her the last time I was in they didn't give me double egg if she would be willing to remove the charge on today's bagel. She refused. Not a big deal. The big deal to me is the same woman made my bagel last time and wasn't very friendly and was snappy at times. She treated my girlfriend the same way today and then made sure to inform the cashier that her bagel had avocado on it. So they charged us. When we got home we realized they in fact did not add avocado. Three times in a row is pretty annoying. read more

I am a Huge Bruegger's fan and I always look for a store nearby! I was happy to find this location, the bagels are plenty tasty. However, the service here is terribly slow. This location does not allow mobile orders, so some customers call their orders in while others wait in line. Even with four staff behind the counter, the wait here is always 15-20 minutes with a garble of people waiting around. Not the type of service I'm looking for if I want to grab a quick half dozen or bite to eat. I'm not sure why the service is so slow; I've been to plenty of Bruegger's with quicker service. I'm hoping this location will improve with time! If you have ample time and patience, the bagels are delish. read more

On multiple occasions recently, the service is slow, disorganized and even snarky, the opening hours erratic, the bagels sometimes flat, but worst of all, the staff ignore any mask requirements, often not wearing them or doing so incorrectly. This is of particular concern given the indoor mask mandate in Denver through the end of the year. Its a stark contrast to Starbucks next door.
