I would avoid, and I will be. I have been going here since my favorite sandwich spot in Rockland closed. I ask for the same thing and I'm specific about what I want. (Lettuce, tomato, pickles) Each time they are condescending and rude that I'm specific. Well, this is now the second time that they don't listen and leave out tomato and put onions. I don't eat onions. The first time I just threw it out. This time, I brought it back and all she did was take them off and put tomato on. Well, still tastes like onions and I had to throw it out. Waste of money and time. If they weren't so damn rude about it, it would be one thing. Done with this place and I would advise you be as well. read more

I ordered a large BLT sub for $10.25. The lady asked me what I'd like on it. I asked for pickles and onions with provolone cheese please. I saw that they had some macaroni salad for $4.95. I asked if it was homemade and she said yes she makes it herself. I ordered that also. She brought it over to my table and she said these are the two cups of macaroni salad. They were the same size cups with covers that you would serve tartar sauce, ketchup, or any other condiment. I to the counter and I asked this is all you get for $4.95 thinking she made a mistake she said no that's the right price. I told her I couldn't afford that for such little macaroni salad. What a rip off. She told me then don't pay it and took them away. She seemed a little upset. I started to eat my large sub and realized It was a scali roll, not a large sub roll like I ordered. I had to get back to work so I ate it. I brought My plate up to the counter it to pay for by large BLT sub. I pulled out my wallet and took my credit card and the lady asked you don't want to use your cash and I said no thank you. She gave me the credit card receipt to sign and I noticed it was $13.95 tax concluded. I asked why it was so much because the BLT was only $10:25. She seemed very aggravated and snapback saying You ordered extra pickles and onions. I said no I didn't order extra pickles and onions just that I wanted onions and pickles on it. I was frustrated so I told her to have a nice day. I will never ever go back to that Brown Bag Deli in Rockland Mass. If I could put no stars I would have. Back in the day the brown bag deli used to be one of the best breakfast and sandwich shops in that area. I'm not sure when the old owners sold out to these people but they've got a lot to learn. Great breakfast, family environment. I went here for breakfast since at the hotel I'm staying, breakfast is expensive and just medium/ low quality. So I decided to give a try and check in to this place. First, it is clean. Food is prepared fresh and with love. I don't use the love word when I write reviews but that was exactly what I experienced. Great flavors, not a greasy omelet or bad quality food and at a very, very reasonable price. Brought my car in for service and this was not too far a walk away The menu is short but adequate. There are 7 tables for 4 and a couple of stools at the counter. A TV and free wifi. I ordered the Greek omelette with red onions tomatoes feta and oregano. I asked for it soft. It came exactly as I wanted. Plus lots of innards. Tasted great too. It also came with deep fried potatoes, the kind I like, and a choice of toast. I ordered dark rye. I was very happy. The place is small. I was kind of concerned that there was no one else here but the food was good and I'd come back. The service was fine. The only worker also the cook. He didn't offer or ask about coffee or anything else to drink. But OK. read more

We have gone here a couple of times and really liked it. When we are in this area we always consider this place an option. We have gotten a few different sandwiches here and they all were very good. I can't think of a better place for lunch off exit 14 (or even 13). We thought the people working there were pleasant and the dining area has always been clean. read more

Brown Bag Deli is your average sandwich shop. I feel the sandwiches are decent at best. Meets the lunchtime rush needs and their omelets are not bad in the morning hours. I have not experienced the unprofessionalism that the previous poster experienced but was dismayed to read that. I stop here maybe once a month on my way to work, and although I have never found anyone to be overly rude, they definitely are not what I call people persons. If you just need a place to grab a quick sandwich and soda, this place suffices. Just don't expect the Carnegie Deli. read more

This place was great for breakfast. Our hotel offered a Continental breakfast of meager offerings for a charge of $9. No thanks. That brought us to Yelp in search of a good place and we definitely weren't disappointed! I got the "New Englander" breakfast which offered 2 eggs, 2 bacon strips, 2 sausage patties, toast, home fries, and your choice of pancakes or french toast.... for a little over $6. The eggs were perfect, not snotty like I sometimes get when I order over easy. The home fries were seasoned and tasted great. The portions were very generous! The place was very clean and the owners were so sweet. I love a family owned restaurant. This is a hard working couple helping out their son through college. They talked to us like we'd all been friends for years and I loved hearing about their lives in Greece. Hoping to get back there for lunch during this trip! read more

I've always gotten good food there, today it was awful. I stood at the counter, the woman asked if I was ordering, I said yes....she proceeded to take the orders of 2 mens standing behind me. I had to ask her if I could order food as well. I ordered a cup of chowder and a chicken Caesar salad. Have no idea what the salad was supposed to be. It was made up of mostly green peppers, some lettuces, tomatoes, some chicken and not a drop of dressing. It was bone dry. Very disappointing. read more

This place deserves ZERO STARS! The new owners suck! The place was dirty and they are extremely rude. I was there recently and Donna (one of the owners) was very abusive towards a trainee on her second day there calling her "STUPID" in front of the lunch crowd. Talk about lousy training methods, also the lack of courtesy and professionalism! Not to mention that Donna made me a Santa Fe Chicken wrap and it was horrible! Not normally in this part of town but had had to drop off my car for a window replacement and I had an hour to wait. The customer service person said it was just a few minutes walk. It was 8am and a beautiful summer day so off I went. I was pleasantly surprised. It's a breakfast/lunch facility, not very big, 5 or so booths for 4 and some counters. Soup is terrible, very bland. Staff very unfriendly, they made a mistake on our order. When we returned to have the mistake corrected we were greater with the owner yelling that we we're wrong. Can't imagine how they're still in business with the poor customer service that they exhibit! read more

I cannot say enough good things about this deli. The owners are always so sweet and kind. I love being able to support a family-run small business. The food is EXCELLENT! I have not once had one item off the menu I didn't like, (Steak and cheese is by far my favorite though! Egg and cheese on an English muffin wins it for breakfast.) They always have daily specials written on the board, and there truly is something for everyone. If you are looking for a small spot in the Rockland/Weymouth area for a quick lunch stop, Brown Bag is your place! I do recommend grabbing a menu on your first visit and then calling ahead if you are swinging in during the lunch hour, because they do fill up quickly, and it can be a little bit of a wait if you order upon arrival.
