Everything bagel toasted with scallion cream cheese and rosemary bagel with lox
    Niamh M.

Been wanting to try these bagels since last year so when there was a pop up on Newbury street I preordered two bagels for a Saturday morning, one rosemary with scallion cream cheese and one lox sandwich on an everything bagel with plain cream cheese. Overall, it took way too long to get the bagels, the service was very slow. I get it was a busy weekend but I've seen queues just as long for other places and it didn't take as long as this one. Maybe the toasting of bagels slowed them down. The bagels themselves were good, very similar to popup bagels. The everything bagel tasted burnt. Slightly disappointed with these bagels, I might have to try them at their usual spot and give them another chance

These are the best bagels in Boston. It's a lot easier now to buy the bagels with the walk in or you can pre order the amount of bagels online. This location is right next to the South End Buttery and it's kind of like a hole in the wall type of place because it's so tiny. The location is just to pick your bagels and you have to take them home to eat. The people who work here are great and super friendly. The line looks intimidating at times because it's often times out the door but they work really fast and you're not in line for long. My favorite bagel flavor they have is the rosemary sea salt. It has the best texture with how soft it is on the inside and the crunch from the outside.

This is a pop-up bagel shop in the South End that has gone viral on social media. Their menu is very simple--bagels and cream cheese. Since they make fresh bagels daily, there's no guarantee you'll be able to get one that day. They do offer walk-ins, however they close as soon as they run out. I suggest going early, or pre-ordering on their website. We went on a Saturday morning and were luckily able to walk in and order. Sadly they were not selling the famous bagel pockets that day, so instead we ordered 3 bagels and a tub of plain cream cheese. The cheddar bagel was the best one, as it was the only one that was still warm and had the best flavor. The plain bagel was a runner up, but the sesame wasn't my favorite. Their cream cheese had a great flavor. No drinks for sale but the cafe next door sells them so we went there after we ate. There is also limited seating outside. Unfortunately since it was a New England winter day, we had to sit outside which made it hard to enjoy the bagels. Most people go buy a drink next door since Brick Street doesn't offer any, and bring their bagels inside with them. If I were to come back I'd do that... Parking was tough as there's a lot of resident only spots, but I found street parking about a block away. Overall solid bagels but it's more of a grab and go spot if anything. P.S No card payments, venmo only!

Overhyped. I hate to say this because I don't want to hurt any small businesses, but I was extremely disappointed with my experience at Brick Street Bagels. From the preorder stage, pick-up arrangements, to bagel quality, nothing hit the mark, not to mention their bagels are way too overpriced. The whole ordering and picking up processes were ridiculously inconvenient. You need to "fight" for the bagels days in advance. You are NOT guaranteed to get the bagel and cream cheese flavors you want even if you preorder. You have to line up early in the morning (it was 19°F when we visited) and choose them IN PERSON depending on their inventory. So what's the point of preordering? My wallet was crying and my heart was broken. The bagels are still in my freezer but I don't ever want to touch them again. *Rosemary Sea Salt Bagel, Cheddar Bagel The bagels were literally like BRICKS. I swear the bagels were still warm when we received. Unfortunately, the rosemary sea salt bagel was STALE AF. We could hardly rip the bagel, and the crust wasn't crispy at all. It was like chewing bricks. I tried to reheat it at home, the texture was still the same. For the cheddar bagel, it was SO OILY. The paper bag and napkins soaked up a puddle of oil in split seconds. The texture was more like a cheddar bread instead of a bagel. From the struggle of the bagel pull, you can easily tell how tough it was. *Dill Pickle Cream Cheese Dill pickle cream cheese was the only edible thing from this haul, but it was just okay. I've had the same cream cheese from Popup Bagels before, which was more delicious than this one. FYI I paid $29.01 after tax for six bagels and a tub of 8oz cream cheese. $7 for two mediocre bagels was robbery. At this price point, of course my expectations for their bagels would be very high. Good news: Popup Bagels just opened a location in Seaport, Boston. They only charge $21 for half a dozen and a schmear with much better quality and service.

Everything bagel with scallion cream cheese. It's make your own, so don't expect them to cut it and put the cream cheese on it for you.

Don't be fooled (like I was) and get the bagel at The South End Buttery next door! I was so happy when someone said "The bagel place is next door!" THIS was the bagel I was looking for!! Delicious bagels, cooked perfectly!! Chewy on the outside and soft on the inside. I'm so glad I found it around the corner! The everything bagel is probably the best I've ever tasted! They do make you buy a tub of cream cheese you you have to cut and smear your bagel on your own (my only complaint. This is worth the trip to the South End. We'd love for you to put one in Beacon Hill! But please don't get too big too fast and lose the great quality you have!

Still best bagel in Boston, tried the mother garden and 1000000000/10. Somehow got right in with no line on a Sunday morning

Crusty, chewy, savory bagels. I love the rosemary and sea salt bagel. Sesame and everything bagels were also really good. Great place to grabs some bagels and cream cheese to go. Can order in advance for pickup!

I was really ready to try these and think they were overhyped because of how fast they sell out and having to pre-order. However, I can admit when I'm wrong because this was worth it! I got there at exactly 10:30 which was my designated pick up time. There was a line down the block but it only took about 10 mins in line to get to the front. I ordered 4 bagels and ended up with 2 everything and 2 rosemary n sea salt. The cheddar was sold out unfortunately. I think I definitely preferred the rosemary. The bagels are fresh and warm when you get them. The outside is crisp and the inside is really fluffy but with the right chewiness too. The scallion cream cheese was a great pairing too. Loved it and would def order again.

I'm not usually a bagel person, but I spend a lot of time in the South End and had to try Brick Street at least once. I placed a preorder for pickup on a Wednesday morning around 9am. At this time it wasn't busy at all, and the service was super friendly. I got the sesame bagel and the texture was perfect and you could tell it was fresh. There's no seating so I ate them at a cafe nearby. I'd definitely come back!

    Plain, everything, and rosemary salt

Overhyped. Bagels extremely chewy, almost too tough to chew. Definitely didn't wow me like I thought they would based on what I've heard/read. Service was friendly. Walked right in on a Sunday morning - no line. Quality to cost ratio is way off here. I have no problem paying a good amount for high quality food but they miss the mark here on quality. I'd give them another chance - maybe they weren't fresh but as it stands, I still like pop up and Katz better.

These were some of the best bagels i've ever had. The only thing that I have a qualm with is the almost $7 cream cheese with only 1 size option, I only used about a fourth of it because the bagels were so good. Would come back for sureeee.

    Anahit S.

Comparable to NY bagels? Maybe not. But are they better than West Coast bagels? Absolutely, 100%. The bagels are fresh and delicious, though the selection can be hit or miss since they can sell out quickly.

    Kylie B.

Was so so excited to try the hyped up brick street bagels and was not disappointed! I had the cheese bagel and rosemary sea salt (which was unique and I think my top recommendation) with scallion bacon cream cheese. I loved that there were multiple options but the menu was still overall very simplistic and focused on just producing simple but delicious bagels. Service was fast (I came on a slower day business wise for them) and efficient. The shop is a popup so small and just a grab and go of your pre-order (ordered a bag of two bagels and 1 spread and picked available flavors upon arrival). Excited to try more flavor combos!

The blueberry bagel I had that day was absolutely superb, probably the best blueberry bagel I've ever had in Boston. A few days later, I craved that same blueberry bagel and made the trip back, which is a considerable drive for me. Upon arrival, I was told that blueberry bagels are not offered every day and are only available on Thursdays. I returned the following Thursday, but the experience was very different. I got blueberry, poppy, and a few other bagels to take home. Unfortunately, all of them were absolutely disappointing. They tasted extremely off and very different from the blueberry bagel I had previously. At home, my family ate about half of what we purchased, but none of us had any desire to finish the rest. Overall, the experience was unpleasant, and the bagels were not enjoyable at all. The blueberry bagel from my first visit looked and tasted amazing and was completely different in quality from what I received on my second visit. On top of that, the person behind the counter seemed careless with hygiene, touching the screen, bagels, and other surfaces without any apparent attention to cleanliness. It felt like a completely different place compared to my first visit just a couple of weeks earlier. Overall, I'm extremely disappointed.
