My husband and I stopped at this Bruegger's this morning to grab a baker's dozen and cream cheese for the family and I'm so glad we did! There was a long line but it moved quickly and the cashier was super nice. They sliced our bagels and got our order ready faster than I expected. Our bagels were still hot when we got home. Today I ordered two herby turkey sandwiches online. Both sandwiches only had one tiny slice of turkey which was pretty underwhelming and disappointing. It was pretty much just a lettuce and onion sandwich.... I have been a Bruegger's customer for 20+ years and now live out of town. Went here for breakfast the day after thanksgiving and it was very popular. I ordered the Vermonter signature breakfast bagel sandwich in which sweet meets savory! Cage-free eggs with pork sausage, bacon, cheddar cheese, Honey Walnut Cream Cheese, and syrup, on a fresh-baked Maple French Toast Gourmet Bagel, but I swapped the bagel for a gourmet cheesy hash brown bagel. Price was also ok .. Service time could improve . Took us 15-20 mins just to order and get our coffee/ bagels . .. coffee was average . Was more watery and wish they could make it better. I have been going to this Bruegger's location for 20 years and it is appalling how downhill it has gone in the past few years. I have never seen the service as bad as what I experienced today. I went ~2.5 hours before closing and they barely had any bagels left and it didn't look like they were baking any more. They were making all of the online orderers cancel their orders because they ran out of the bagels, but they were not clearly communicating that, so we witnessed multiple customers stand around for 10+ minutes before being told that their online orders weren't going to be fulfilled and that they needed to cancel it themselves and request a refund online. We went in the middle of the day on a Sunday; it wasn't very busy at all (~3 customers ahead of us in line), yet it still took us 30 minutes to receive our food from when we walked in the door. They had 4 employees working so I'm not sure what was taking so long since it wasn't busy & they barely had any bagels left to serve. At one point, we witnessed the cashier squat down behind the cash register to rest his head on the counter for multiple minutes. There were even customers that came up to the cash register to order that had to wait until he picked up his head and notice them to place their order. After waiting so long for my order, I checked it to make sure it was correct, and they had put the wrong cream cheese on my bagel. They originally offered to just give me a side of the correct cream cheese, but after some pushing, they ended up taking my bagel back, scraping off the wrong cream cheese flavor, and adding the correct flavor. Years ago, customers would place their order where they prepared their food and you could watch the employee make your order and provide any clarification they needed, which resulted in less order errors and more efficient flow in the store. The staff here used to be extremely fast at preparing food (I would estimate it took them less than a minute to prepare a bagel with cream cheese), but today it took the employee about 3 minutes to spread cream cheese on an already toasted bagel. While waiting, we also noticed that the restaurant's sanitation rating was a 90, which is significantly lower than comparable restaurants in the area. After searching in the database online, we saw that there were gross sanitation & food safety violations including team members failing to wash their hands, debris in the ice machine, prepared food being stored under food safe temperatures, and other food contamination issues. We also personally observed the food preparation areas being extremely dirty, and all sorts of residue smeared all over the walls, it is obvious that it had not been cleaned in a while. This location previously scored in the high 90s, but in recent years has scored in the low 90s. It is sad to see how bad this location has gotten recently, I used to love coming here. The poor service we witnessed today is extremely embarrassing and I hope the location manager and/or franchise owner speaks to the staff about their behavior and addresses the cleanliness issue. read more

11am on a Sunday morning. 2 customers eating inside the store, and nobody in line. That should've told me all I needed to know. Get up to order and they tell me they're out of plain and everything bagels. How are you out of these popular choices at 11am on a weekend? So, I pick two other bagels and head home. Get home and I find that one of the bagels isn't even cooked all the way. I don't mean they didn't toast it or didn't heat it, I mean the bagel was literally half uncooked. It was still raw dough. $7 bagel sandwich I ordered tasted horrible! Equestrian were soaking wet, barely any cream cheese. Interior of store appeared dirty & rundown. On positive note, employees were nice. Sitting areas were blocked off so has to eat in car. This is definitely subpar for the Bruegger's of yesteryear. I'll not ever return. Well...the staff was very friendly and efficient-a star for them. I ordered a bagel & cream cheese with lettuce, tomato and onion. It was tasty but I thought charging and extra 70 cents for each item... leaf of lettuce, thin slice of tomato & thin slice of onion was kind of excessive. I got a small cup of coffee from the dark roast carafe and it was not very hot and had hints of the flavored coffee (hazelnut?). Yuck! that was more that $10. Seemed a bit pricey. read more

This place is just a bummer. I live nearby, so I've been coming here for quite a few years now, but increasingly less and less. The bagels themselves; who knows what you are going to get. If you're lucky, they will look like actual bagels and taste like actual bagels, and maybe be the size of a bagel you've come to expect. More often than not though, they are going to be oddly shaped, poorly baked, flat as a cracker, or some other pitiful version from the world of sad bagel nightmares. I can count on one hand the times I've been here in the last year or two and the bagel was actually even as good as one you'd buy at the grocery store. And then you've got everything else. Will they get your order right? Maybe? Let's say 50/50. Will it be made with anything resembling care? Negative. It's going to be made like the person was being attacked by a bear at the same time, and the toppings are going to be as minimal as the laws of physics allow. Will the customer service be even in the realm of friendly? Also doubtful. There are a couple of nice folks who have been around for a while, so that's not to call them out, but beyond that, it's rough. It's just a poorly run place. You want to give a place the benefit of the doubt when you have an issue or two along the way, but issues are simply the norm here, and they run the gamut. On its best day, it is extremely average. Every time I come here I end up regretting it. It's worth it to drive further to another location or just to eat a bowl of cereal instead. read more

I love bagels...I thought I should start with that. They are a particular weakness of mine. I am usually fond of Brueggers....not this location. Its like they are completely out of touch on the company play book of making the best bagels outside of NY. All the other locations have served the standard bagel that I have come to love....except this one. I need to clarify..I am not giving a negative review if the company..just this location. The men ( maybe this is the problem) that work the counter rush you thru your decision making and dont allow you to finish, making corrections necessary. The bagels themselves are either over done or under done with no in between. If you dont mind surly and attitude with your bagel ny all means..stop in. The only reason I am giving this location four stars is because of its staff. This restaurant has not had air conditioning for weeks and yet the employstill go through the work day with smiles on their faces! The manager even kindly apologized to me for the heat, knowing I am a frequent customer. I am not the one who is stuck working in those conditions daily and I could just not believe his kindness! This puts such a bad taste in my mouth for the company. They need to be helping this store and their employees. But know that the food is delicious and the service is fabulous when you go! I have only visited this location once on a Saturday around 12 pm. It was a little busy but the service was quick, the employees were friendly, and my order was accurate. I highly recommend their coconut coffee and asiago parmesan bagels. I usually like garlic bagels but the ones they sell here are too salty. I would prefer it if they made two separate bagels - one garlic and one salt rather than merging them together. I stopped here on a Saturday afternoon. While the seating area was empty, it was also clean and tidy. There was nobody behind the counter, but after waiting a few moments, someone did come out to help. Unfortunately, I think she was new as she was extremely slow. A woman came in behind me and quickly seemed to grow impatient at how long it was taking for my order to be completed, and that there was only one person behind the counter. One major peeve: the cutting board/prep area was filthy. I would definitely suggest they wipe it off once in a while. When I order a sandwich, I don't want the bread picking up smears of mayo, cream cheese, or whatever else is on the board from orders before mine. Also, my sandwich was not properly wrapped when it was bagged, so when I got home and went to eat it, it had come apart and was scattered around the bottom of my bag, and yes, had a big soggy spot on one piece of bread from where it had apparently picked up something wet from the cutting board. Also, a bagel with cream cheese is $2.29 while a plain bagel is $0.99. If I'm paying $1.29 for cream cheese (more than the bagel itself!), I expect a decent amount of cream cheese. I always ask for it on the side and it comes in a plastic ramekin with a lid. I got much less cream cheese at this location than I have ever gotten at a Brueggers before. It seems silly, but seriously, for over a dollar I expect a good amount of cream cheese considering I could have bought an entire block at the store for around $2.50. Overall I think this location could have bumped it up a star or two if they would either train their staff better, or perhaps have more experienced workers partnered with new hires. The girl helping me also had a hard time ringing my order up on the computer, another thing that had me suspecting she was new. I made. A simple call in for an everything bagel with cream cheese, salmon and avocado. The people were very friendly and memorized the order so when I got there she was quick to repeat it back. I open it to see there isn't any salmon and the avocado was bad. Now I should have checked to make sure it was made properly or at least up to standard.
