Once I asked for someone to take our order, service was good and the staff was very apologetic. I had a chicken club sandwich with hashbroynds with onions and mushrooms, and a hybrid sweetened/unsweetened iced tea. My guest had a waffle with crispy bacon and a Diet Coke light ice. I had an amazing experience here with everything but the actual food that I ate. Hashbrownz were too greasy and the shaved steak was not the quality I prefer nore was the texture or flavor very good. 7/24/22: #1 - It is EXTREMELY HOT outside & gas is expensive, so I already didn't want to drive all the way here. My son just HAD TO HAVE Waffle House. We get here & the restaurant refused to take a call in order, so then we go online. Their site wasn't working either. So, we went inside only to be told they aren't taking to go orders!! WHAT IN THE WORLD?!? More than half the seats in this restaurant were unavailable/on top of the tables (not full with customers). They were only assisting 3 booths of people along the window while everything else was closed off. You mean to tell me we have to eat inside & would have to wait for those booths just to eat WH? I enjoyed eating and visiting this Waffle House. I was greeted as soon as I entered. The table I chose was clean and ready for me. The waitress came to see me right away. My orange juice was fresh and tasty. The coffee was hot and freshly brewed. The staff in the place were upbeat and lively. They were working cooperatively together. After I reviewed my menu item choices the waitress returned and took my order in a friendly and efficient manner. I didn't have long to wait for a great tasting pecan waffle and a single order of biscuit and gravy. The dining room is kept very clean. The parking lot and approach are neat and orderly and safe. I appreciated the personal attention and good food. Check out was simple and accurate. I was providing with a greeting as I left as well. One star...folks, I love the food with all I am, but this one gets nasty fast. Food is a 5/5. Service could have come with a lawsuit. While waiting for a table, waitress cleaned half and came back a minute later to finish...NBD. When we sat down, we had to do some extra cleaning (seats and table). Server never made eye contact, and the syrup jar was never cleaned (had to go to the bathroom to wash hands after use). Drinks and food came out quickly. At the refill of my drink, I notice inside of my drink looks odd. After looking, it looks like pulp (like orange juice pulp) and a ton of it - I got someone's nasty cup. I tell the waitress that my drink looks like it has OJ pulp in it and she says it does and not a word of apology, just an acknowledgement it does have OJ pulp in it and she brought me a new one. Take my one experience for whatever is it worth... but the staff they had working at 230 am here the morning of September 9 was a great bunch of people. Our crew had just enjoyed a somewhat rare for us "closing down of the bars" and needed some grub before making the trip back to Greensboro (one of us stayed sober, don't worry). We were greeted warmly, the staff took our orders, and we had food in front of us in 10 minutes. I had a Patty Melt, which for me is my Waffle House staple whenever I do end up there. Loved it. You're not gonna do a lot better that late. I just got plain hashbrowns with it, I find they are good enough for me if I add a little Heinz 57 to them. That they were. If giving zero stars was an option, that's what i'd be giving this waffle house. I went in after a concert and was met with a less than pleasant experience and attitude from the worker. She was blatantly ignoring the customers waiting in the booths and leaving them to sit and wait with the previous tables trash! Waffle House is like a favorite local diner (in terms of the atmosphere, hospitality, and comfort food quality) somehow replicated into a chain. I have no idea how I survived 20 years in Raleigh without trying Waffle House. I actually first came here with my boyfriend who grew up in the North, trying to give him a Southern experience. Waffle House has the best service! This is hands-down the best Southern hospitality I've ever experienced at a chain restaurant. They even have a busboy who opens the door for patrons in between cleaning up after the bar. It's a 24/7 diner-style restaurant with a few booths and a bar along the kitchen. There's also a jukebox near the bathrooms... haven't seen many of those around! We sat at the bar and watched the kitchen at work. The waitstaff uses a completely verbal call system where they yell the orders at the line cooks, who don't even seem to be paying attention but get all the orders right anyway! We did notice that they barely clean off the stovetops and just cook about 5 orders on top of each other between quick wipe downs. It was a little off-putting, but oh well... tastes great! As for the food, I was wondering how waffles could be a specialty... Like how different can each waffle get? Until I tried my boyfriend's waffle. AMAZING. Now I know why they're called the Waffle House, haha! Except I ordered biscuits and gravy, which was still pretty good. But I'll definitely get a whole waffle next time. All in all, delicious and cheap. I just wish they were a little faster! There was a huge lapse between my ordering and the waitress calling my order thanks to the verbal system of ordering. Great dinner and a show! The Waffle House is a great place to go and be able to fill up the lax boys after a long practice. We can get a lot of food for a great price! You can get your typical breakfast food but my favorite is the pecan waffle with a side of bacon. I like my hash browns covered, diced, capped and chunked (cheese, tomatoes, mushrooms, and ham). So for the show part of the comment...the first time we had the slowest waitress ever. Seriously, she was so slow that is was funny. You could not even get upset. She make not working an art form. Once we were out of the restaurant, we laughed until we were out of breath. The second show was several weeks later when another distracted waitress was busy talking to another staff member and was so busy she did not serve our food. We had to ask to get our food and we were about a foot from the food sitting at the bar top. Once we got most of our food, our bacon was still cooking, she once again returned to her conversation. The guy cooking our bacon became upset because he though he misunderstood her and did not realize the bacon was ours.
