    Smoked Salmon...
    Patrick R.

Pretty good Bagel spot... A lot of clientele comes and goes, and the space allows costumers to stay too. Bagels are freshly made, and there is plenty of variations when it comes to the menu. I had the smoked salmon with rosemary & olive bagel... and it was great! This is definitely a bagel place to return to for some B-fast. PS Bruegger's caters too!

I've only visited the one in Trumbull, not the Shelton location. But I like Bruegger's. They've got nice strong coffee (better then Starbucks) and their bagels always seem nice and fresh to me. I have lunched here. The last time I was here I had a Salt Bagel. Maybe not the healthiest choice but I was not in the mood for my usual number one choice, the onion bagel. There is usually plenty of seating and this day was no different. I quite enjoyed my bagel. It's a nice spot for either Breakfast or Lunch. My friend also enjoyed her meal. It is kind of hard to spot but it is located in a shopping center (a little one) near a Japanese restaurant I have never eaten at (and sadly near an abandoned Supermarket that shut down and does not appear to be reopening as anything else anytime soon.) Anyway you walk down a hallway to get to Bruegger's. And then you order at the register. There are also non bagel choices. And you could always be bold and get a bagel with everything on it..I did that once and it was pretty good.

This is a green egg we were served. Never eat there.

The egg they served in my sandwich was green. When I called to complain they put me on hold for 20 minutes because they were short staffed. The woman who answered the phone told me the eggs sit in a warmer and that's why. Eggs do not turn green when sitting in a warmer. She did not care and told me told come in tomorrow when the boss is there. I would not recommend this location ever. It's very dirty and the help is rude.

Reached out immediately per 'business owners request' and got no response furthering my point that customer service is trash.

I would recommend JBC bagels over this Bruegger's. Order was incorrectly processed here and selection much better at local competitors.

So I need 9 bagels and then she's like r u sure you don't need 12.. and I really don't, 9 is plenty. But do I go for the dozen?? Sure I do LOL. I get 12, but ohhhhh no If you order 12 they give ya a bakers dozen so now I'm at 13, plus my original rye bagel.. I get my order and I leave, and I think : man I got upsold on bagels! lol I head home, kids get out of school and all happy w fresh bagels. Then the snow comes, Friday night snow, Saturday snow, Saturday nigh snow, Sunday snow and Sunday nights it's snowing again, I go to the bagel and there's 1.5 bagels left and I think to myself, I didn't get upsold... that lady was a bagel angel!! I waited for half hour for the line to move, before I made it inside. They still had plenty of Xmas themed bagels. I got a dozen. The staff were super nice, attentive, and worked really fast to get people in and out as soon as possible. The place itself is nice big bright and inviting. I got a half dozen of their green and red plain bagels, a Jalapeno cheddar bagel with plain cream cheese and bacon (they put lots on yum and it was crispy), and another plain holiday bagel with their Christmas bark cream cheese. These were some of the best bagels I've ever had thus far in my life. The dozen remained warm for an hour after I picked them up. They were so soft all day, from morning, well into the evening. I can't wait to go back and I'm super happy I waited in that line. My family was extremely happy to try them as well. Nice Xmas Eve morning delight.

ORIGIN: Popup Bagels was founded by Adam Goldberg during the…read moreheight of the pandemic, when Goldberg explored bread baking. Initially sharing with friends and family, the Connecticut resident started selling via popups and pickups in New York and Connecticut. You would think New York already had a good source of bagels, but after its first stand-alone location opened in 2021, momentum developed and other storefronts were initiated in New York, Massachusetts, and Connecticut. LOCATION: This Popup Bagels is located in a shopping plaza in suburban Newtown, Connecticut. CONCEPT: Compared to other bagel shops, Popup Bagels a limited number of bagel flavors (plain, salt, everything, poppy, sesame) and tubs of weekly-changing flavors of butter and cream cheese (such as martini cream cheese and lemon butter) in addition to those regularly available (such as scallion cream cheese). Sandwiches are not prepared for customers -- they are encouraged to "grip, rip, and dip" bagels into their chosen Schmear. ATMOSPHERE: The interior is crisply designed with a modern feel. SERVICE: From an investment perspective, the concept is brilliantly efficient. Limited hours (7-noon Wednesday and Thursday, 7-1 Friday, Saturday, and Sunday), limited choices, no sandwich/beverage prep, and online ordering encouraged, make the service efficient from both effort and material perspective. FOOD: Compared to other bagel shops the bagels are attractively packaged with open totes, inviting the aroma of the bagels to greet the customer. The exterior is covered by the topping, rather than sprinkled. The bagel is crisp and chewy on the exterior, but fluffy in the interior. In addition, tubs of smoked fish-based spreads are available. TIPS: The chain is expanding into Southern California. On Thursdays Schmear flavors change. The flavors are announced on Popup Bagels website. Although pre-orders are welcomed to ensure your pick, the online system does demand a minimum of a dozen are purchased. Ordering in person allows a three bagel minimum. The company recommends running water over the bagels, and placing in a preheated 350 degree oven for six minutes to crisp the exterior. Note the shop closes at noon on weekdays, 1 o'clock on weekends.

The bagels were warm, crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, and the scallion cream cheese "schmear" was tasty. I liked the rip and dip idea. We would put them in our top 5 in CT! We'll be back to try more of their schmear specials!

And had I…read morenot been halfway down the highway by the time I'd unwrapped it, I'd have brought it back. Just look at the picture. This bagel looks like someone tried to hit it with cream cheese from thirty yards away. And mostly missed. When I sent this photo to a friend, their response was, "Wtf is that? Did you order a bagel with 1/3 cream cheese?" Indeed I did not. One year ago, this was not happening at Bagel Bros. of Shelton. My last few experiences, however, have seen a decrease in bagel size, bagel variety, and cream cheese. To be clear, I'd have been upset if I received this as a Depression-era ration. One star for the coffee, which was hot. Bagel Bros. crew: please head down the street and order a bagel and cream cheese from AM Bagel to see how the competition is packing their parking lot every single day. They spread the cream cheese on both sides with a generous portion as ALL other bagel shops do, and which, at an up charge of $2.34 per bagel in your shop, I hope you will, too. This was a great shop a year ago, but somewhere along the line it seems as if management has decided to squeeze the customer. I may try this spot again in a month or two (truly I used to frequent it), and if this is the quality I receive at that time, I will never return.
