I've been wanting to try this place for a bit out of curiosity. When I was targeted on social media for a free bagel with cream cheese when I join their rewards, it was my calling to sign up and go! To get the free bagel and cream cheese, a purchase was required; so I chose the fruity cereal pop as it was only $1 and a bagel is filling enough. The fruity cereal pop was good ... think rice krispy treat on a stick with a mild fruit loop taste. The stick comes out easily, which was my preferred way to eat it. For my bagel, I got the Parmesan Asiago with vegetable cream cheese. They put ample cream cheese on it by the way so no worries if you like a lot ... you can always remove it if too much but you can't add more of what is not there. For me, I absolutely LOVED the flavor of my bagel!! I actually took my cream cheese off because I loved the bagel flavor so much (nothing wrong with the cream cheese at all ... this is just kudos to a flavorful delicious bagel!!). I'm looking forward to exploring more deals they have and trying a breakfast sandwhich next time (on the same bagel though!). I had to go check out the place that took over for Bagel Jays. I stopped in on my way to a day of meetings and just wanted a usual sausage egg and cheese breakfast sandwich to get the day off right. I ordered my sandwich on an everything bagel, and an iced tea. The iced tea was not the greatest and I did have to add a couple sugars to it just to get it to a good spot. Usually I can drink unsweet or sweet tea but this one just needed a lil sugar. The sandwich was great! I liked the double wrap on the sandwich with everything cut. Made it super easy to eat on the go. The bagel was good! It had a lot of seasonings on it which was nice. It had a good crunch and was chewy. I'd say it was good overall. It might crack the top 10 as far as breakfast sandwiches in the area are concerned. But it's close. read more

I hate to do this, but for the sake of time versus making a call to the manager or owner ~ here goes. Hoping for that manager or franchise owner to take note and address. First, they are close to my condo. Sometimes as a business owner, I'm in a hurry to get to the store. I did visit yesterday (Sunday) and found a new employee, first day, on the register. My heart felt for this young man. No one was standing over him shadowing (which is usual in a training scenario). I was reassuring that he was doing a great job, but the truth is I thought it was a bit unfair to thrown him in the mix that way. Another associate did pop in when he was struggling a bit with my order. Tables were dirty. Chairs not pushed in. Appearance ~ not welcoming. Today~ ordered ahead for my flight. Order was wrong. It was my order, but the order inside the bag was inaccurate. This isn't life or death for me, but it seems there isn't anyone who has a bit more control of these hardworking young men and women. I'd like to see them step up their game. Clean the tables. Clean and organize the coffee bar. Make sure orders are sent out accurately. The service industry is difficult, but this is a great staple for the area and I think they can use a bit more polish. read more

I'm always so very pleased with the staff at this location ( I can't say the same for the Snyder location). I was greeted warmly, assisted with my app reward, and given time to decide on my selection. My order was takeout as I live in the South towns. I typically come here following my medical appointment. This chain/franchise bagel shop took over for locally owned Bagel Jay's (so sad to see Bagel Jay's go). They remodeled the inside and did a nice job. The service was friendly and fast. Now...onto the most important part...the bagels! I ordered a pumpernickel bagel , not toasted, nor sliced with a side of onion-chive cream cheese. The bagel was mediocre at best. The pumpernickel flavor was lacking and extremely mild. The consistency and density was just ok. The cream cheese was in a tiny plastic cup that is only enough for spreading on one side of the bagel. It also was just ok. The flavor tasted artificial and tangy and was thinner consistency to me. I will come back and try one of their breakfast or lunch sandwiches as those seem to be a bigger hit. read more

I haven't had Bruegger's almost 2 years ago and I've missed it. Although I was saddened to see Bagel Jay's go, I was elated that Bruegger's step in. I was craving a bagel before work and stopped in for a bite to eat. I grabbed a coffee and a bagel with jalapeño cream cheese. Everything was fresh and delicious. Good bagels are hard to find out and in Amherst so I was looking forward to giving Breugger's a try. I stopped in before work and got an ice coffee and a sesame seed bagel with light herb and garlic cream cheese. Unfortunately I was really disappointed. The iced coffee was okay but the bagel was the worst bagel I've had in my life. The bagel was so stale and hard to eat, you'd figure coming in at 7am it would've been fresh. The cream cheese was disgusting, I wiped it off my bagel, the taste was just so horrible. They didn't toast my bagel or ask me if I wanted it toasted which I assumed they would. Bagel Jay's is a tough act to follow. The only thing better about Bruegger's Bagels is the friendlier service. I've been in a few times, and not at all impressed with the bagels nor the cream cheese. The atmosphere is not conducive to dining, it definitely feels like a grab and go place. There's even a shelving unit by the entrance for DoorDash-type drivers to grab orders. The cream cheese is located in a display case past the counter - after your purchase. You pay, then get it yourself. I did not care for the taste of the plain cream cheese, it had a zing to it, maybe a preservative aftertaste? It was not the clean, fresh taste of Bagel Jay's, and the texture was thin like nut butter texture, not what I was expecting. Maybe because it is shipped from another state. The bagels were flat, not very flavorful, not even the cinnamon raisin. Maybe the change from a focused local bagel shop to a national chain (under the Panera umbrella) is what is unappealing to my appreciation and palate. While the wait from one shop closing to Bruegger's opening was filled with great anticipation - was ultimately met with disappointment. read more

The bagels are good but not good enough for the long wait times! They've been open for a while now and have other chains so there should be some time requirements to remain in operation. It's not hard to toast a bagel and throw cream cheese on it. And both times I feel like the workers are too busy staring at the line of customers than making the actual food. Bagel Jay's was in desperate need of a renovation and Bruegger's provided that update.. with one exception the restrooms were beyond filthy, like they had not been deep cleaned for years. Just gross, and with that in mind, what does the kitchen and bakery look like?! A huge YIKES for a "remodel"... On to lunch. It is counter service and the cashier was friendly. Not even close to Bagel Jays If the bagel quality was the same as Bagel Jays, I'd give them a higher rating. But they're not nearly as good. These are more like what you'd get at a grocery store. And I was especially disappointed when I came in for a sandwich. Bagel Brothers sandwiches were a genuine treat, piled high with fresh deli meats and cheeses. Brueggers uses 3 slices of what looks like thin Oscar Mayer "deli style" meat that you buy in a plastic container. Most recently, I was given my sandwich uncut and told that the company instructed employees not to cut sandwiches in half unless customers request it. I have to think they don't want people to see how skimpy the sandwiches are until you bite into them. I really miss the local quality of Bagel Brothers. Not sure if Brueggers will up their game. I waited for this new bagel shop to open. I had stopped going to Bagel Jays because some of the workers were horrible to deal with, nasty and seriously no personality. Bruegger's has much more going on in all areas of customer service and a good quality product. My bagels were still warm, so who could resist tearing into a delightful everything bagel on the way home? I did not try any specialty sandwiches or the different cream cheese selections. The food is 10/10 but the older lady at the window always somehow overcharges. I get myself a sausage egg and cheese on everything bagel and a side of JUST sausage and egg for my child. I always get charged $14sh whenever this older employee rings me up. How does this make sense when 2 sausage,egg+ cheese bagels come out to $13. Don't get confused, This is not bagel Jays or an upgrade from them. The menu lacks all the things that made bagel jays special. The employees working there lack the most basic of skills from Slicing a bagel to cooking an egg. The twice baked hashbrown sounds good but your given a cold mushy cupcake of a hashbrown. Also if you order 2 or 3 bagels online and it says 20 minutes plan on waiting 40 minutes. You can tell not 1 employee in this place takes pride in what they do. Never again! read more
