Elk is the Main Street of Crested Butte and bruhaus sits in a prime location. It has a huge patio and an outdoor bar. It has overflow/additional seating at picnic tables just on the other side of the sidewalk. Well behaved leashed pups are welcome with open arms in the outdoor area. Besides great comfort food, this place offers veg and vegan options and a long list of craft beer, imports and a full bar. The restaurant is large with two additional indoor areas but I never needed to go in so I didn't check it out. The first time we went we just had their giant pretzel and some drinks. The pretzel was made perfectly and served with a horseradish mustard and can add extra dips like cheese. The second time we ordered the wings and grain bowl which were both excellent. The food overall is comfort food with some German influence. The standout here though was the service. Emmy was our server and she was attentive, friendly and kind. Make this your first stop when you land in Crested Butte.

Stopped in for burgers after a hike. The house burger was OK, the Wapiti and Bison burger was amazing though. Service was friendly, but not very attentive. Seems to be the norm at Crested Butte it seems. The ambiance was clean and inviting with a great patio area.

We stopped in here for lunch a couple of weeks ago, and had a great experience. We sat at the outside bar, and the bartenders were awesome. I know I should have guessed from the name, but the beer list here is legit - including fun/funky different things, and even beers from Italy. There's tons of seating outside on the patio, as well as around the outdoor bar, and a lot of seating inside as well. For lunch, I had the buffalo chicken sandwich. You can order the chicken fried or grilled (I went fried), with lettuce, tomato, ranch, and Gorgonzola. The fries that came with it were delicious - and the coleslaw that came with my husband's wrap was very generously portioned. He has the chicken Caesar wrap, and said it was really good. We will absolutely be back to explore more of the beer menu (and food menu)!

5-Star Experience with Mountain Charm From the moment we walked in, the Colorado Mountain cabin vibes set the tone for a cozy, elevated evening. Emma was absolutely phenomenal--attentive, warm, and full of great recommendations that made our night unforgettable. The Cascade cocktail was a standout: a smoky-sweet blend of tequila and mezcal with pomegranate and lime that hit all the right notes. The food? Next-level. The fried buffalo chicken with Gorgonzola was bold and indulgent, and the duck fat dummies were crisped to perfection--rich, golden, and addictive. Rachel behind the bar kept the drinks flowing and the energy high. Between the beautifully remodeled space and the stellar team, this spot is a must-visit. Can't wait to come back! Derek

The fireplace in the front court yard drew me in. It was a perfect spot to warm up before heading in for a meal. The inside feels like a modern and very clean German beer hall. I loved the fusion of German style food mixed with American flare. There's tons of parking around the area that's free and the servers are all very friendly. I'm a sucker for French onion soup and this one hit all my expectations. The perfect amount of bread cheese and soup was delivered. Highly recommend!

I can confidently say that this was the best burger I have ever tasted. $24 for a burger is not cheap but totally worthwhile. Highly recommended!

They specialize in live fire cooking and we were lucky enough to get a booth right across from the action as you will see in the pics. They use a mix of red and white oak to control the heat along with a series of movable grill plates. We started with a delicious Strawberry Salad that also had watermelon radish and delicate greens lightly tossed in a vinaigrette. Coming from Arizona, I had to try the Pozole and thrilled I did. The rich red broth gave light to the chili heart of this very complex liquid. The pozole had great texture and the shredded pork was tender and outstanding. An excellent example of this favorite dish. The most amazing entree was the main course. It was a shareable Half Elk Rack. While I like medium rare, when it was brought to the table, I thought it might be too rare. As soon as I tasted it, I realized it was perfection. It was so tender and the chew was great, especially on the end pieces that had an incredible bark on the outside. Elk is an extremely lean dish so to add some unctuous notes, they take Fois Gras, and as the fat renders, add huckleberries before putting it in a blender to create a heavenly base. We couldn't resist dragging every bite across the serving plate to savor the magic. As a side dish, we ordered the squash which was also perfectly roasted over the live fire and complimented the dish.

I liked how it actually had N/A liquor in it. My husband got the SECRET GARDEN - loved the lavender earl gray. For a starter, we split the BAHN MI QUAIL - super inventive, never had quail before. Kind of hard to eat around the small bones but loved the stuffed flavors! For dinner, we shared two dishes: ELK SAUSAGE & PEPPERS PASTA and PORK CHOP. The pasta was very so-so, nothing that blew me away. However, the pork chop was super tasty - loved the sauce. For dessert, we shared limoncello sorbet - perfect amount of refreshing and loved the fun strawberry powder! Our server was super nice and attentive. Really nice experience overall!

Well, it's not a bad thing adding new businesses and that is a part of keeping Yelp "in the loop" for what's out there for us consumers to partake. Irwin Brewing Steve and I had a couple of different of beers from. One was a Mexican Lager and another was an Amber. To be honest the Mexican Lager could have been better. It wasn't very memorable nor did it have an infectious flavor that a really good Mexican Lager can have. The bready flavor and if a brewmaster so chooses some tequila in brew via barrels or otherwise can crank out a real mean Mexican Lager. Irwin's tasted flat and just not all that great. If that was all I would have had from Irwin I would have given three stars but then we also tried and enjoyed fairly well an amber lager, Amber's Lager as it is called was a notch up with a nice malty, clean and crisp flavor profile. So that increased the favorability with the brewery's beers a bit more. There are other beer options that may be worthy of exploring here but the amber is one that I fine well worth returning to.

We had a pretty large group, but our server, Rachel, was a total rockstar. She took incredible care of us and didn't skip a beat. The rest of the staff was also extremely kind, helpful, and on top of everything the entire night. We went with the family-style fajita dinner with chicken, beef, and shrimp, and the food was delicious. Everyone kept talking about how good it was! We also opted for a drink package, and the service was so seamless that not a single person had to wait for or ask for a drink. We were only in town two nights but next time we're in Crested Butte we will absolutely return to Bonez for dinner. YUM! PS the happy hour prices are REALLY good!
