Overall, it is a great brunch (or probably lunch) spot. There is tons of parking, and it's in a convenient location. It was fun to see the waitstaff all in Chicago sports attire, so that might be some one-off type of thing, since I doubt they wear that all the time. Our waitress was definitely nice, but she basically disappeared for very long stretches. It wasn't busy enough or understaffed to necessitate such long gaps. This got frustrating as time went on. Later, we wanted water, which is usually given rather freely and early on. But I had to crane my neck looking around for either her or another employee so we could get water. It felt very hot in there and they might have had the AC off or very low, but I wanted something cold because I was getting uncomfortable. I didn't see her for about 10 minutes at least, and I couldn't get anyone to give me the time of day. Finally, a manager (I think) came over to see how everything was, and she was very nice and got us water right away. Despite the complaint above, the atmosphere was overall very welcoming and had comfortable seating! And the food was some of the best brunch I've had in the area. I liked my omelette a lot - maybe cook the onions more next time since they were kind of raw still. But the flavors were terrific, and it's clear they put lots of thought into the menu and various ingredients. It's not a cookie-cutter, minimal effort type of spot. Went in on a Tuesday at about 9:40am and this was my first time here. The interior is lovely. Very bright and welcoming. I was eating alone and was seated in a booth. Drinking water was not provided which was odd. I perused the menu for a loooooong time before anyone came to take my order. At least she brought coffee when she finally did come. I don't know if they're trying to go for a more leisurely vibe here since it's called BRUNCH Cafe, but I didn't enjoy having to wait so long for my waitress and the fact that no one brought water until I flagged down a busboy halfway into my meal is... weird and not great. If a busboy was meant to take care of my water, he didn't and the waitress should have rectified that. I don't know if they expect you to ask for water, but I doubt it. It was probably an oversight. I also worked my way through my cup of coffee very quickly and no one ever came to refill it. I know this place hasn't been open long so I guess they're still trying to work out service. Keep working on it, y'all, because the food was very decent for the price. I had the South of the Border which was a quesadilla with egg, diced bacon, tomato, green onion, and cheese. There was avocado and more diced tomato garnishing the quesadilla and also a cup of salsa which was quite good. So the food overall was very good and gave me the confidence to try other menu items in the future. When you order a dish your first time someplace and it isn't good, it makes you not want to try anything else on the menu. But based on the item I ordered, I would try others. The food is always what's most important to me since the most amazing service in the world will not elevate crappy food. That being the case, I'll come back at some point and see if service has improved, because the food seems to be solid, based on the dish I ordered. One more thing. The quality of the coffee is extremely important for a breakfast/brunch place IMO and this was disappointing. Intelligentsia is... ok., but there are much better roasters in the area who could service this restaurant. Additionally, the to go cup of coffee I got before leaving tasted bitter and burned. It's entirely possible that the first cup I was poured was the same, but I didn't taste that one while it was black, I put half and half in right away. But it still didn't taste great. I'm judging this restaurant against other breakfast/brunch places in the area and it's not better than Egg Harbor in Glenview, it has a long way to go to reach that level. But it's also better than a number of other places like Butterfield's for example. read more

So we came here during their first week being open so I can't really give them 5 stars quite yet. We walked in and it was a very busy Sunday as expected. The friendly hostess said it would be about 15 min and we were seated pretty close to her estimated time. The place is pretty spacious with booths on the side and tables in the center. There's also another area with a diner like counter service and more tables. Service was friendly and kinda efficient but no biggie, like I said, it was the first week. I asked for coffee refills from 3 separate staff and couldn't get a refill. Pancakes came but no syrup for 10 min later. You know when pancakes sit around they get cold so... However, Food was really good and oh I forgot, they have delish bloody Mary's, mimosas so u guess they serve liquor. Would I come back, heck yes. This place was much better than the other options nearby for brunch, uhumm...eggsperience, egg harbor, and the like. Yuck. Go to this place instead! They have an extensive menu so it was hard to make a selection. I enjoyed my salad and my companions raved about their vegetable panini, egg scrambler and apple Gouda sandwich. Here's what you need to know: food was delicious and well prepared. Ambiance was very energetic and lively, even for a weekday Monday lunch. Service was delightful and pleasant. I tried the chicken fried steak with a biscuit and a side of multigrain pancakes and skillet potatoes. Everything was exceptionally well seasoned and flavored (with the exception of the cinnamon powder forced sprinkled on the pancakes - made what would have been a perfect multigrain pancake less so - on the plate. Even the biscuit was not too fought and tough and was sliced and toasted for the perfect crunch. The gravy was absolutely delicious. There is a fresh prepared quality to everything. The cold brew was just meh, and didn't have the quality of a top notch roast, but still serviceable. Overall, I would highly recommend this restaurant and will be delighted to come back soon. Great spot! A bit unassuming from the outside, but oh my... the place is bustling and everything we ordered was delicious! From the brunch signature south of the border quesadilla, to the amazing salmon toast, to the healthy southern salad, and to the kids pancakes! The service was super quick and very attentive. Today was the second time I dined solo here and, unfortunately, my experiences were identical. Déjà vu all over again. Being asked, "JUST one?" is never the best way to begin. There are many ways to ascertain how many are in a party but none feel worse or more judgmental than JUST one. It happened on both visits. The staff was friendly but didn't make me feel much better. Nearly 10 minutes after being seated, I asked if someone could please find my server. Minutes later, my server went to a man seated five minutes after me, took his order, and got another table coffee before wending her way to my table. I mentioned how I had been seated five minutes before the man, whose order she just took. She apologized and replied she hadn't scoped out the room.... The eggs were perfectly cooked and, besides the hole in the bottom one, the pancakes were also tasty. My server never could have seen this but the kitchen knew better. My server was attentive and checked on me several times. I greatly appreciated her and she almost made up for the beginning of my experience. Brunch Cafe is a winner, when one doesn't dine alone. They certainly don't need my business but it would be a kindness if they treated all customers the same. There are plenty of brunch places and I suspect, in the future, I will patronize others more sensitive to single diners. read more

I've been coming to brunch Café NILES, Illinois for about a year. I usually like to go during the week when it's not crazy busy early in the morning and the reason it's crazy busy is cause they got a great menu of great selections of really great food. I was so impressed and overwhelmed by it But I've tried many different things on the menu. I especially like getting the skillet because I watch my diet and eat as healthy as I can. I like to get the skillet with grilled chicken spinach green and red bell peppers. Spinach and basil and tomatoes I also do a little side of that delicious country gravy, which I recommend highly. They serve Organic coffee it's really good. And finally they have a very friendly staff! I have a regular server her name is Donna she's the bomb she is very attentive and such a pro! She always greets me a smile and by my name, she's wonderful. This was our 1st time at Brunch Cafe in Deerfield. We totally enjoyed our Father's Day breakfast. I ordered the (huge) toast & lox plate. Rustic toast shmeared with cream cheese and top with yummy lox, capers, 3 hunks of perfectly ripe avocado, and purple/red onions. The colors, themselves, exploded, the orange lox, green avocado and purple onion. Wow! Also came with a lovely side salad with a good balsamic vinaigrette. I also enjoyed an iced cappuccino (with almond milk). Our server, Taryn, was welcoming, cheerful, and professional (kudos to her). Also....bathroom was very clean, important to me...and most everyone. The only (slight) issue was that it was VERY loud. I am chalking it up to it being Father's Day, but it could probably use some sound-dampening. I will return...with friends in tow. Excellent!! read more

I expected better. I heard great things and was excited to try this place. The place looks bright and welcoming. We got a scrambler, 3 different types of pancakes and some side dishes. Pancakes - they were okay, but without the toppings they're very blah. The test of a good pancake is to taste great without anything, then that sets the foundation for everything you put on top of it. These fell short. Eggs - the scrambler was simple ham and eggs. There was something off about the eggs. Ham was decent. Potatoes - no. Just no. Tiny potatoes that were cooked, but that's all I can say positive about them. Flavor was lacking and did I mention that the potatoes were tiny? Thick cut bacon - this was also disappointing. Not very thick and missing flavor. The menu is extensive, and really tries to cover all options, with pancakes and waffles and crepes and french toast, skillets and scramblers, omelets, benedicts and two-egg plates, fancy toast and oatmeal, plus some wildcards like a breakfast burrito, biscuits and gravy, or a quesadilla. Some twists are thrown in in each category, like a chilaquiles skillet or a portobello mushroom benedict. Servers are friendly and helpful. The food comes out quickly, and is very tasty. Cool are their high-back booths, which keep you separate from those in the booths on either side (a standing screaming kid, etc.) Excellent food, large portions. Almost every restaurant has jacked prices, some absurdly (Max & Benny's). At Brunch Cafe, I had a Veggie Skillet (morning diced potatoes, two egg whites, spinach - done perfectly) and a couple of pancakes on the side for a REASONABLE: $13. It's a large, open, brightly illuminated place with top-flight servers. VERY Highly recommended! (Lots of parking but it's tight at NOON RUSH.) read more

They were very busy this last Saturday but we were seated in less then 20 minutes. You can make a reservation but I don't know how people you need to make one. We just walked in. Our waiter was nice but after taking our order some one else delivered our food snd we didn't see him again until it was time to drop a check. Check you check because he didn't charge me for my coffee so I had him add in on He had charge some one else I'm out group for my coffee We had omelette, avocado toast. Hash and I had nacho omelette. My food looked good but was delivered cold. The place is very noisy and we found ourselves speaking loudly to talk to everyone in out group. We were there at 10:30 and it was less noise around 11:30 but picked up again before we left. The manager said they are usually busy. This place was wonderful! Ample menu choices, fantastic service (Kelsey was the BEST), and nice clean environment. It's a bit loud and tightly packed but it was also a Sunday brunch rush.
