100 out of 10 lol this place is exactly what we mean when we say we want a cute, aesthetically pleasing, great customer service, good food experience. There is a nice sitting area while you wait for your table. Our waitress was attentive without being overbearing, she was nice. The girl with the guitar putting on a show was excellent! The food was beyond good. 100x better than I expected. I will definitely be back very soon.
Blown away by the hospitality here! The staff was amazing, and it was such a nice touch to meet the husband-and-wife owners who greeted us at the door and even stopped by our table to check on the food. We had the spaghetti and catfish--something you don't see often in Texas since it's more of a Midwest (especially Chicago) tradition--and it was spot on! The food came out hot, delicious, and with portions big enough to share. We also tried the greens--personally, I thought they could've been cooked a bit longer (a little on the crunchy side)--but the cornbread and strong drinks totally made up for it. If you're in the area, definitely give this place a try. Great food, great people, and I genuinely felt appreciated.
BRUNCH ROOM BISTRO IS INCREDIBLE!! Comfort food, live music and good vibes! This was my family's first time here and we were impressed. The service was fantastic (thank you, Kay!!) our server was sweet, funny and just a joy to engage with! Onto the food, I got to try a piece of my sisters catfish, it was crispy but not overly crunchy and very well seasoned. Collard greens 10/10! The cornbread was very sweet just like cake and topped with a drizzle of honey. I ordered the jerked oxtail. It was tender with a hint of spice! It didn't come with any sides so I ordered a side of rice. My only complain is that rice or cornbread should come WITH the meal. Each side is $8 each and paying that much for rice is really off putting... I enjoyed it. For drinks I went with the passion fruit mimosa ($6 per glass) my sisters got some type of tropical drink with rum (pictured!) I got to taste a sip and it was super boozy and just as described. All the drinks were well crafted. The ambiance was wonderful. They had live jazz music playing on a Saturday afternoon--such a great touch!

This spot is cozy and fills up quickly, so expect a lively brunch vibe. Music selection was on point! We arrived and the place was already buzzing. For drinks, I ordered the Very Berry mocktail, which was delicious and refreshing, while my companion had a Caramel Macchiato. We started with the Fried Green Tomatoes with chipotle aioli and goat cheese. It was a decent appetizer with good flavor. The Crab Cakes (two cakes served with house slaw) also had good seasoning, though I would've loved a bit more crunch on the batter. The Peach Cobbler Pancake was very generous in size and rich in flavor. Most definitely on the sweeter side. Personally, I prefer a little more balance, but if you love sweet-forward brunch dishes, this one delivers. The Fried Fish was seasoned well and fried perfectly. It was flavorful and nicely done. I also tried the Pot Roast Hash with breakfast potatoes, cheese, onion, bell pepper, and two eggs. It was interesting and different, featuring a tomato-based sauce. Not bad at all, just not my favorite. I did order a side of bacon, but after about a 30-minute wait, I ended up canceling it. I'm not sure if the delay came from the kitchen or our server. Overall, the food and vibe are good enough that I'd definitely come back and give it another try. Worth revisiting.
My wife and I visited for our anniversary breakfast, and it was a really nice experience. I ordered the chicken and waffles, which were cooked well and very flavorful, while she had the pancakes and enjoyed them just as much. The restaurant wasn't busy that morning, so the atmosphere felt relaxed and gave us the chance to enjoy our meal without any rush. The space has a pleasing aesthetic stylish yet comfortable and the music was vibrant and an inviting vibe. Service was friendly and attentive, and everything arrived in a timely manner. For the quality of the food and the ambiance, the pricing felt fair. Overall, it was a lovely way to start our anniversary, and we'd be happy to come back and try more of the menu.
First let me review what was great, that was the crab cakes appetizer and the candied yams. The catfish, grits and eggs were delicious as well as the spaghetti and catfish. The service was friendly but busy. The ambiance was nice with a live band performing some r&b. My only disappointment were the drinks I ordered. The Sangria tasted like just juice, a definite mocktail. I didn't complain and decided to order the same drink my daughter had but no luck there, it tasted totally different from hers. I had to bring this to the attention of the waitress. She informed me that the bartender changed the ingredients of my drink, very unacceptable but they made it whole by offering another drink made correctly. That was okay but still wasn't what my daughter had. I'd come back for the food but not the drinks, never know what you'll get. I appreciate a good dining experience but paying the amount I did felt illegal after the drink issues. I'd still recommend because the food is delicious. Make a reservation and enjoy!
Came here, visiting from Los Angeles, to celebrate my cousin's birthday for the weekend. We had reservations, and were seated immediately. I ordered the wings & waffles and shared apple pie pancake. I really liked the apple pie pancake but the wings & waffles were meh. The food was hit or miss within our party. My sister ordered the catfish & grits and she had to send her meal back because the fish was undercooked. Our waitress was so sweet and on top of it. She looked at it and even agreed that it was undercooked. She was so apologetic as if she cooked it lol. Although the food was just ok, service was exceptional!!! Front the front staff, wait staff, and the owner (we met the wife), everyone was so kind and welcoming. I appreciate that! I will definitely recommend Brunch Room Bistro. If I was a local, I'd give it another try. I'm observant, and what I noticed and liked about this business is that the owners and their staff take pride in Brunch Room Bistro. When you walk in, you'll see what I'm talking about. From the decor in the dining area to the decor in the women's bathroom- it's the attention to detail for me! I heard they are opening a speakeasy next door, so I'm sure it's gonna look amazing.
I enjoyed it. The sangria was DELICIOUS! I ended up trading it for the BRB. My friend ordered the BRB and it was too strong for her. About 1/2 was through I had to stop drinking it lol. It's no joke. The drinks were delicious and the Happy Hour price was amazing. It was my first time there, my friend had been previously and enjoyed it. The panacakes are HUGE. I couldn't finish even 1/2 of them. So love that. I was able to bring it home and had it for breakfast today. There was even enough for me to share with my kiddo. The bacon was thick and delicious. I get my eggs over medium and that's always a gamble. But there was no runny white stuff so it was great. Perfectly cooked. My friend enjoyed her food. She finished all of it I think. The ambiance is cute. Servers were nice. The only things I will say is that one we ordered our server only came by once to check on us. Luckily we didn't need anything. And one of our menus had dried food on it. Not the vibe you're going for in a classier joint like this. Besides that everything was great. Our bill was like $75 with tip for 2 amazing breakfasts and 2 delicious drinks. Not to bad for the high end feel right here in Forney. Plus, we didn't have to deal with traffic to Mesquite or Dallas. Will definitely be back. I also heard they have a lounge now! Excited to check that out as well.
It's worth the drive! Everything about this place is fantastic. The location is large with good ventilation. The music is playing in the background is not too loud and you can actually have a nice conversation without having to scream. The service is kind and patient. Now the food is soo good. We ordered the green gumbo with cornbread - fantastic! The catfish and grits bowl with an egg- so good. We had the fish fried and blackened both were delicious. We also had the oxtail and grits - oxtail was falling off the bone. We ordered one huge pancake which you ready was not too sweet- so really good. The grits were creamy and had a good texture. That Mac and cheese was nice and creamy. The fried green tomatoes were just okay. We will be back. Oh and if you have a baby the owner will hold your baby while you eat. Like I said above, this place is worth the drive. We will be back.
Flew into Dallas for the weekend and we went straight to brunch! The place is huge with plenty of seating and parking outside. Prices were on par for the area and it was a huge portion of food. The drinks were drinkinnnnnggg! I was one and done! Service was good for the most part but a tad slow. The vibe is brunch! Good times. Loud laughs. Great music! I would return the next time Im in the area! Everything was delish!
I so wanted to give this place a higher rating, but the pancakes were quite disappointing :( the food also took quite a long time considering we were one of the only tables. The scrambled eggs were good, I appreciate that they had a sprinkling of chives. The bacon was pretty greasy but didn't taste bad. Idk, just meh :/

I tried this place for the first time, and the atmosphere was so inviting! The staff were incredibly welcoming, which made the experience even better. Before you ask, yes, it's worth the drive. This was such a good brunch ! I came here to celebrate my besties birthday and we left so full and satisfied. First off, I did have to drive quite a way to get here because I live closer to the Arlington/Irving area. That being said, I think the 40 minute drive was worth it! Service was really really good and I appreciated the attention to detail. The drink menu is fun and creative and the options for food are all impressive! I love going to a restaurant and my biggest concern is what I'm going to order because all the options sound good. The only complaint I had was that the food took a while, but again, the service was kind so I didn't have the worst time waiting. The decor is very luxe and I can see how cute it would be to host people here! Overall, I do recommend! read more

Love the ambiance and the vibe. Live saxophone player was excellent. The fried green tomatoes are the best I have ever had these are incredible! The seasoning and sauce are so flavorful and they are fried to crispy perfection! Sunday morning party of 3. Two of us ordered the bread pudding waffle. They were SO GOOD! The other person ordered the sweet potato stuffed French toast. The filling has a really nice texture and wasn't sweet, which works well with the crumble on top. The bread slice it was made of is HUGE so it is truly "stuffed". Their turkey sausage links were good. They ask if you want your bacon fried hard or soft . Service was fast. Staff were kind and inviting. The restaurant is nicely decorated, very clean, and has ample parking. We got to meet and chat with the owners. They were kind and made us feel like family. If you're a drinker, they have a full bar. If not, their mocktails were good and well priced ($5 for what I got and I'm used to $8-10!). If I lived up this way I would be back next weekend. Lol! Automatic gratuity on large parties, no credit card fee, and no cash payments. Reservations suggested for peak hours. They do have varying live bands. Mind blown!!!!! I was absolutely blown away by everything that I tried. I went two days in a row, so I tried quite a lot of food. They did not miss a single thing! I the first day I asked the waitress what she had to choose between the sweet potato stuffed French toast and the greens gumbo, before I could finish she responded greens gumbo! So I told her I would take that. When the gumbo came out, I was asked if I wanted hot sauce and I replied yes, but they were so good I didn't need anything on it! That is shocking!!! I usually love hot sauce on my gumbo but here you absolutely don't need it. The next day I came back with my husband and he tried the peach cobbler pancakes, and I had these sweet potato stuffed French toast (that I was dreaming about from the day before). Outstanding! The way they found a way to balance both French toast and the flavor of sweet potato without making it taste like a sweet potato pie - crazy! It's not too sweet, Just the right amount and the texture is wonderful. It is also surrounded by a pecan granola that gives an extra crunch. I inside was beautiful with velvet booths and I noticed they have a stage so I'm guessing there is live music sometimes. We will be back to finish trying the menu! read more

Foodie Alert! Hey DFW! If you're looking for a new brunch spot, be sure to check out Brunch Room Bistro. They are open Wednesday to Sunday and located in Mesquite, TX. Offering a nice cozy atmosphere and Southern hospitality service, I personally couldn't get enough of their BRB punch and the peach cobbler pancakes - they were so good! Their chicken wings weren't too bad either. One suggestion would be to get coasters for the tables, as drinks tend to sweat and create water marks and stains. I have been patiently hoping to give BRB a fair chance because I am grateful and excited to have new restaurants near my home And local friends... unfortunately Brunch Room Bistro keeps slippin' in simple ways that make a big difference. 1. When customers walk in and don't have reservations, don't act like you're the most exclusive celebrity hangout in NYC or PARIS, even those places communicate and don't make you feel unwelcomed... 2. Once you DO make a reservation... you come in, see lots of activity, sit at the bar... have to wait and then 5 mins later say "hi!" To the first person who is an actual bartender... only to be greeted with an exasperated glare and "YEAH?!" Like I am interrupting you while you are praying at church or studying for a test... Lastly, I recently made two reservations for a birthday brunch and while I failed to call and see if our tables could be adjacent; the real issue was BOTH tables having zero utensils and then food coming out. I sat [literally] five minutes with one table to then go tell the owner Chris about it as we stood right next to a tub of dirty utensils... just prior to that a server presented plastic wrapped utensils I was so embarrassed because I knew they would be rejected and moreover I see him instead waltz over to the front and casually walk a new group to their table. If I were a manager/owner I wouldn't hesitate to wash the utensils myself and show I actually cared about the issue. Sadly we will not be coming back any time soon; the music was too loud to enjoy conversation and the crab cakes were meh, my first-time visiting friends did not like their shrimp and grits at all and we are foodies who live right around the corner. As I said; I wanted to give them a chance but after I quickly recapped the issues with 'Cookie' and she said "I wish I knew because we could have comped/adjusted etc..." was just a cop out in my opinion when it happened to multiple tables and then we were told by our servers "we need to order more" - you need to do very simple things but I'm not gonna sit here and give a free restaurant management consultation because I have had enough of my time and energy wasted at with establishment. Went here while I am visiting Texas, from California and I was so happy with my experience. Firstly the ambience was very nice and cool and the decor was very trendy. The service was my favorite part! Very kind servers and hosts! The food was great! The cheese grits were out of this world especially with some hot sauce! This was my second visit, and once again, this place exceeded my expectations. The hostess was friendly and attentive, and the music set the perfect tone for a great time. The drinks, especially the espresso martini, were excellent. There was live entertainment that was energetic yet chill, keeping the atmosphere lively. I ordered the chicken and waffles, requesting the chicken fried hard, but in hindsight, I could've let it come as prepared. The eggs were cooked perfectly, and the mac and cheese and yams tasted like Thanksgiving stars. The catfish was spot on. The head chefs even came out to check on us, and we couldn't stop praising the food. Our waitress was attentive, giving us space to make our decision--a tough task since everything sounded amazing. Wow...even better than I expected. I went for brunch and I'm going back this week for dinner. All of the food was so well seasoned. The crab crakes were so fresh w the cole slaw! We rarely get a chance to get out on a Friday without the kids. I'm a breakfast person but my wife not so much. She suggested this place after seeing it on TikTok. The Atmosphere This place has a cool club vibe with the booths and tables. This place could definitely be a banging club at night. We came shortly after them opening for the day. I'm sure the vibe changes around lunch time and on into the evening. Definitely come early if you're not into crowds. The Service We were greeted by the hostess who was very welcoming and our waitress "Bri" was very attentive and took our drink order. She suggested some cocktails and we decided on the BRB and Tropical Storm. I decided on the catfish and grits. The wife decided on the Wings and Waffle. Food came out fairly fast. The BRB Very nice and strong. 2-3 of these will have you feeling gooder than good and hooder than hood. Really good drink. Get this for sure. The Tropical Storm Very heavy on the mango nectar. I was expecting a more lighter refresher but still a good drink. The Fish Crispy and fried hard. You can get it blacked or grilled also. Not a lot of seasoning but a few splashes of Louisiana Hot Sauce and it was bussing. The Grits Simple and plain. I was expecting something different as they are advertised as "Creamed Corn Cheese Grits". Not a lot of flavor. Really relying on the sauce and other components to make it a star but still good. The Wings Lightly breaded. Seasoned well. Not over powering. My wife is not a big egg eater but she really enjoyed the scrabbled eggs with cheese. The Waffle Crispy exterior and soft center. Topped with powdered sugar. Warm syrup would have been a plus but still good. Honestly, I appreciate the simplicity of the dishes we chose. Overall experience was good. We had a family member visiting from out of town, so we decided to take her here for a Saturday afternoon brunch. I made reservations for 1 pm. Upon checking in we were told to wait in the waiting area until our table was ready. In the waiting area there are chairs to sit in , but this day they were pretty busy so we had to stand until others were seated. I noticed two different groups of ladies who arrived with gift bags (I'm guessing they were here for a celebration). While we waited we could hear music throughout the restaurant, and once we were seated we realized it was a live band playing. The performer sounded amazing and he also came off the stage to interact with the patrons. People were eating and vibing to the music. He sang lots of popular R&B music that everyone seemed to know the words to, so they also sang along to the music. Upon being seated at our booth our waitress ( sorry but I can't remember her name) brought us water and took our drink orders. We decided on the pitcher of the Sunset Mimosas. Let me tell you those mimosas were full of flavor and had a good amount of fresh fruit floating in the pitcher. They were so good! We all placed our orders of, sweet potato stuffed french toast, catfish, grits and eggs and shrimp and grits. Everything came out hot and fresh and pretty quickly and everyone's dish was delicious. This place is definitely the spot to try if you haven't already. The decor is modern and inviting. The staff was very kind and informative. Answering any questions we may have had. Our waitress made sure to check on us to see if everything was ok, keeping our waters full. We thoroughly enjoy our experience and will definitely have to make this our new spot for brunch, lunch or dinner or just a night out for some good drinks. Oh, I also forgot. If you don't finish your Mimosa they put it in a togo container for you to take home. The three of us all had two drinks at the restaurant and the amount we took home could easily serve 5-6 more drinks. I had a couple of glasses the next day and they still tasted amazing. We were quickly greeted with a welcoming of the host and possibly the owner. Me and my Fiancé were discussing what type of cuisine this Brunch place. I ordered the Pork Steak with skillet potatoes with Eggs. It was one of the best homestyle Fried Pork Chop I've had. The Gravy was phenomenal and herb-acious with a hint of pepper spicy that you will be sure to remember. I ate the remaining half the next day and it still remain tender the whole way. "Clean the bone" The fact of this dish being rich in flavors, surprisingly the egg adds a nice touch of rebalanced of my palate. Also, I ordered a Caramel Macchiatto as I started for the brunch morning. I typically Brew and make my own expresso /coffee at home. The barista gal express her full compassion in making the coffee without me needing less sweetness or more in my preference. I believe her name is Lexi, but she is very attentive, sweet, and knew her menu when we had a detailed question about the differentiation between the Pot Roast. My friend and I went to Brunch Room Bistro today around 12. She put us on the list and said they told her it would be 20 minutes to get a table. The restaurant wasn't fully packed, as there were available tables, so I wonder if they didn't have many servers. I decided to get a drink at the bar while we waited for a table. After 45 minutes waiting, we get a table. Service by Lexy was great, and once we were seated, the food and drinks came expeditiously to the table. I ordered an expresso martini & the bread pudding French toast with turkey sausage and eggs. Everything was delicious. I was tempted to order the Nutella French toast, but I will leave it for my next time. Around 1ish there was a saxophonist playing live, which was great. Other than the wait, everything was great! Looking forward to making a reservation next time so we don't have to wait as long. read more

Vibe was so chill and pleasant. Service was slow but without kids it wouldn't bother me because waitresses were very sweet. Food, wow. Most places you gotta add sauce or salt, here they know how to make it. The pancakes were soft and perfectly sweetened. Not too sweet legit perfect. The sweet potato French toast, I could probably take down a loaf by myself and forgive myself later for taking another loaf to go. Shrimp grits, good and packed with flavor. Scrambled eggs were ehh but who cares because the sausage tasted like it was home made and packed with sage flavor. This place is worth a drive. read more

Go ahead and make your reservation and get on over to Forney to Brunch Room Bistro!!! The owners are absolute gems, so attentive and present....the atmosphere is top tier, and the food is so good, you will do the happy dance!!!!!!! The menu is packed with amazing dishes and you won't regret the short drive outside of Mesquite! I do not own the rights to the music! read more

I decided on an Impromptu solo brunch based on a number of recent mentions about this restaurant and it did not disappoint. Food and service were on point. There was a short wait for a table but nothing too outrageous and quite honestly I thought the food was worth the wait. EVERYTHING was perfectly seasoned and delicious. And they had a live band that set the right tone for the space. I can't wait to visit again to try other items on the menu since I had such a hard time choosing this time around. read more

Ok, y'all. The food was phenomenal!! For an appetizer, we had the seafood greens gumbo. It was a roux with andouille sausage, shrimp, collard greens and crabmeat. It comes with cornbread. We also had the crawfish grit bowl and the fried catfish grit bowl. Both came with Parmesan grits and an egg cooked to your choosing. They were really good as well!! Also, they had a live band playing and they were amazing!! My friend had the Bloody Mary and I had the mimosa (too much juice) and the Old Fashion. The latter was really good. I'd most definitely make the 40-45 minute trip back!! ETA: the interior designer did an AMAZING job. The decor is so nice!! read more

The whole experience was amazing!! We were immediately welcomed when we walked in. Our waitress was knowledgeable and attentive! The food was DELICIOUS! I swear the chef was channeling the ancestors!! Every single bite was perfectly seasoned and melting in your mouth. I was skeptical of the fried ribs, it's easy for those to be dry and tough...NOT THESE! Full of flavor AND tender! Let me not ignore the music. The band didn't make it and that was more than OK - the playlist was great! We ate, drank, sang along and danced with the baby at the next table. lol I loved the atmosphere in the place - great welcoming energy. I will be back & if you haven't, make your reservation and get there!! read more
