We used to go to Brunos all the time for takeout. I ordered a pizza and some other stuff. The other stuff was never made and they evidently started it when I arrived to pick it up. I stood in their cramped lobby for 40 minutes. When the other stuff was finally ready (keep in mind, they served like 20 other takeout orders while I watched), they never offered an apology. The owner was right there and never bothered to offer any apology personally or knock anything off the bill. Frankly, the proper thing to do would be to comp the whole order. To top it off, they gave me the pizza that was on top of their oven for 40 minutes. When I said something, they offered to make another one! Save the nightmares awaiting you at Bruno. read more

Very solid pizza and spinach salad (that's what we always get). Also, amazing bruschetta. I think they are comparable to metro NY pizza places in terms of taste, but their pizza crust is a bit to airy. I don't know how to describe it exactly. It's a nice little Italian place but the quality of the food is not top notch. I tend to be a little picky regarding Italian growing up in NY but I have to say it tasted like the sauce was from the jar and not made with love. Had dinner here last week The stuffed flounder was over cooked and the stuffing tasted like lemon bread. The crab cakes tasted like the same lemon stuffing. No crab. Where's the crab !!! The pasta soup was bland and cold. Paid $ 1.00 more for a imported beer. It was Shock Top. Made in St. Louis by Budwiser. What's with that ! Definitely not worth the $49.00 we paid. Mozzarella Sticks are so yummy and I love the pepperoni pizza! Servers could be a bit abrupt but hey, i'm there for pizza not the experience. What they lack in service, they make it up w/ the meal. I noticed another review mentioning it's always packed the handful of times i've been there we were just one of two groups in the dining room. I sorta like that. I've only ever tried the pizza here, but it's worth mentioning, my favorite pizza in the Lehigh valley! Sauce is just right (not too sweet and not too acidic), cheese tastes like real mozz, and the crust is just the right combination of crispy and chewy. Love it! read more

Bruno's is one of the best Italian restaurants in the Lehigh Valley. We eat here often. The pizza is very good. My favorite dinners are Linguini Ala Susan (not on the menu anymore but you can still get it - big shrimp, fresh clams in shell, calamari in a delicious red sauce - I've ordered similar dinners all over the east coast that I hoped would be as good but even at a lot more money did not compare), and chicken marsala over linguini. The bread with dinner is great, my husband always gets the Italian Wedding Soup when they have it. And all the desserts are very good, especially the cheesecakes. read more

Calamari was so salty and tough, hoagie sucked, French fries were soaked in grease and sucked, and the ketchup was WATERED DOWN! Totally gross. Way over priced for the portion sizes. First time visiting this restaurant and was not impressed. We went with another couple. One dish that was ordered was lobster ravioli in a creamy lobster sauce, which was the description on the menu. When the entree arrived, the creamy lobster sauce had little shrimp in it, which was not included in the menu description. After the first bite, crab meat was detected in the lobster ravioli by not one but two people.The dish was sent back and the diner didnt want anything else. I wasnt impressed with the pizza. When we received the check, the price of the dirty martini, which they were not sure how to make, was changed. The original price was $8.95 and then it was changed to $9.95. read more

Looks like a skuzzy bar...One of us went in to do recon...the drapes were falling off the wall and the whole place smelled like dirty floor (like the water in the mop pail hadn't been changed in months). i had the opportunity to eat at bruno's and was greatly pleased. i was at lehigh university for the mid atlantic robotics championship with a group of 44 adults and students for 3 days. needing to find a place to feed the group, i went online to search restaurants in the area since we are from new jersey. i saw mixed reviews about brunos but the negative ones seemed more centered on the decor than on the food. i went to visit brunos before we attended the championship to see if he could accommodate us. he assured me he could and we booked the restaurant for our final meat in th bethlehem area. i was hesitant that we would be allowed to select from the menu rather than doing a set meal. much to my surprise, all of us ordered from the menu and we were all served on time - and with delicious food. no one had to wait for his meal and everything was absoutley delicious. i would highly recommend considering bruno's if you MAIN purpose on eating is to get a delicious meal and a large serving. over 2/3 of the group was high school students and everyone of them loved the food. from a calzone that defied the imagination by its size to steaks prepared with browned butter and garlic and phenomenally fresh seafood. i would highly recommend starting with the bruschetta - huge quantity and superior quality.the calamari appetizer was excellent. i had the clams, shrimp, scallops and calamari in fra diavolo sauce over linguini and i could not finish it and trust me i am a big guy and big eater. the clams were perfectly cooked along with the shrimp and scallops as well and abundance of fresh calamari. to be honest i thought the food would be just ok but to my surprise it was excellent. not one of the 44 of us had a complaint about the food or service. to prove the point about the place - i have made trips from new jersey just to eat at bruno's - a 40 min ride for me. considering my area on nj has an abundant supply of good italian restaurants, i think that my willingness to drive 40 min to eat at bruno's is a testament to the quality. i have brought other friends to bruno's and they were equally delighted and plan on returning as well. for the quality, value and flavor, you cant beat bruno's!!!! read more

Their Italian food is definitely good, however, they aren't the most friendly people. I once went in and ordered a slice and when I came back inside to pick up my slice I had a couple water bottles and kindly asked if I could throw them away. The woman denied me and would not let me throw them away so I proceeded to take them out back to the dumpster where I was followed grilled the whole way and given a very dirty look. One of my friends also bought beer here once in which he soon discovered was expired. When he went to take it back and kindly ask for an exchanged he as rudely denied. They advertise all you can eat pasta on Mon and Tue for 8.99. The waitress asks if you want meatballs or sausage. The first bowl of pasta comes with either one, however when you order a second bowl they have a disclaimer NO MEAT included if you want you can pay extra. Never heard of this maybe it's a Bethlehem thing. read more
