I just absolutely love my hair stylist!! Lavinia is the best I've ever had! That is why I keep coming back! My hair is very difficult to manage, being thick and super curly. She is amazing at choosing the best shade of color you desire that best goes with you. She always gives me that perfect sexy model look I want, you know, the one that make heads turn when you pass by them. What I love most is even though I get many compliments the day of getting my hair done, the compliments never stop coming, even after a month or two. I took my friend in once, she had short blond super thin hair with a horrible cut! But Lavinia knew exactly what to do and how to fix it. She looked amazing after she was done. The way she layered it was so specific that when it grew longer it had a sexy classy look, and the appearance seemed to have thickness and volume to it. I'm very impressed with her! I would go to anyone else but her, She's very professional yet has a wonderful sense of humor. Such a sweet girl and her work is just absolutely amazing. You can't go wrong with Lavinia. I moved to California from the Midwest a few months ago, where I had been going to my hairstylist back there for ten years. So you can imagine how skepticle I was when researching for a new stylist out in CA. It's a shame there aren't more reviews for this salon because they were truly a lifesavor after having a TERRIBLE experience at Alexander's Grande Salon and Day Spa. Having died my hair green (quite literally), when I was a platinum blonde, I quickly rushed over to Ricardo's to see if they could fix the damage that had been done. From the moment I walked in I felt at home. The receptionist, owner, and stylist all condoned their sympathy to me for having such a traumatic experience at the previous salon. Lavignia was my stylist and she did an incredibly thorough job fixing my hair, while having great conversation. She is such a sweetheart and really has a passion for what she does. I was recommended to Ricardo's from my amazing nail tech Natalie de Witte. She referred me to Stephanie. I love her! Stephanie always gets my color just right and her blow drys are fantastic. I get so many compliments on my hair now! I love going to Ricardo's Hair Design. The atmosphere is really friendly, everyone is super nice. The girls at the front desk are always cheerful and helpful. This salon has been around for over 30 years and still going strong. It's no wonder with the quality of the stylists, manicurists, estheticians, and receptionists. I started going to Ricardo's for facials because Dana is great! In the past I've suffered with Trigeminal Neuralgia and was barely able to eat due to my severe facial pain. Dana was able to massage my face and neck so that my muscles could relax and I could once again enjoy food. She is great at what she does. I've had other facials before but none as good as Dana's. She knows how to massage your neck and shoulders to get out the knots. She also treats you the whole session and doesn't leave the room. While the facial treatment is setting in she will give you a neck and shoulder massage. I've been going to Dana for about 9 years and wouldn't think about changing. read more

I just wanted to express my feelings on how relaxing and pleasureful my experience was with Stephanie, at Ricardos. I was referred to her by a friend that spoke very highly of her and have to admit i agree. I went in for a weave and a cut, which Stephanie showed she was very knowledgeable and experienced at what she does. She has a new treatment called a Brazilian Blowout which deep conditions your hair and controlls frizziness and left my hair healthier than it ever has been. Make up, eye brow wax and a facial...all three things I like to take the extra time to do. When I do it's always with Christina Sandoval at Ricardo's! Her work is amazing. She is super personable and friendly I felt comfortable immediately...and then super relaxed after my facial. Can't wait to go back. Facials by Christina are my latest addiction. When I'm going out for a special occasion I love to see Christina for some makeup magic. She always makes me feel and look great! I wish I knew how to do my makeup like she does. I was a walk-in at Ricardo's over three years ago and I've never been to another salon after having Terri cut my hair. I had been to so many places prior that either did not know what they were doing or charged way too much with minimal customer service. Terri, on the other hand, made me feel right at home and for the first time I could actually trust my hair stylist. She consistently does an amazing job giving me what I ask for. So; I've had my fair share of facials in the past, but I must say that today takes the cake! I went into Ricardo's because a frined of mine said the esthetician, Dana, was great. Dana was very nice and made me feel very comfortable. I had a brow wax, pumpkin peel and an eyelash perm. The perm was on a whim and I will continue to get it done, my lashes have never curled up on their own before! She also gives an amazing neck and hand/arm massage! I've never felt so relaxed. I don't cut my hair as often as I should (tisk tisk), but I've been coming to Ricardo's since they opened and Jenny does a fantastic job at cutting and dyeing hair! I've seen other clients come in and out of there as well, and it seems like all of the other hair stylists do an incredible job. The space is pristine and the interior design is beautiful, doesn't feel like being in a cold hair factory like some of the other salons in the area. I don't trust anyone else with my mane, and highly recommend Ricardo's! read more

My hair not only looked awesome, it lasted all day in Del Mar (where we all know the beach weather is tough on hair)!! I started going to Teri for my color and cuts. Everyone at Ricardo's is so nice. My hair stylist, Stephanie, is amazing. Im in the process of growing my hair out, she has talked me off the ledge a couple times. Most recently I wanted to take my almost black locks to a coppery red tone. She used pravana color remover a number of times and was able to give me the light locks I wanted.
