We used to have Bruster's in SE Huntsville years ago when we were first married and my favorite was the Almond Chocolate Coconut (ACC). I thought I remembered them sometimes having that flavor in non-dairy, but can't be sure. I took our youngest child here tonight for a treat and he got a couple different cookies and cream (regular and mint) and I got the ACC. Although my tastes have changed a lot over the last 15+ years, it was still just as good. I would prefer to eat nondairy but it was so good that I would go again. Also, the young woman who helped us (looked no older than early 20s but possibly late teens) was so kind and helpful. So, I have a friend that raves about Bruster's but specifically about the the Key Lime Pie ice cream. I had to try it out for myself. This location has a drive-thru but decided to do a walk up. I ordered the small waffle bowl with two scoops of key lime pie and yes I personally think this tangy key lime pie ice cream lived up to my friend's very high rankings. It was smooth tasting with plenty of graham cracker pieces swirled throughout. The drive-thru had a steady flow of cars but I was the only one in line at the walk up window and was served immediately by a helpful young man. Absolute YUM!! We always loved Bruster's in Florence, AL. Just recently discovered there was in off of Valleydale Road! As always, there were people lined up for some of the best ice cream around. Serve was fast and efficient, with many flavor choices! We grabbed a Birthday Cake and a Chocolate Turtle in a waffle cone. Very large scoops that came out quickly after we ordered! Birthday cake with blue frosting swirled in, was on point, in a Creamy vanilla base! Chocolate Turtle was a chocolate base with Carmel swirled throughout and large pecan pieces given you a nice salty crunch! Great as always!! We Will be back! read more

Delicious! Quite a wide variety of ice cream. A handful of sherbet and sorbet flavors. I loved the dragon fruit. Can be pricey for a family of four. Single scoop waffle cones and regular sundae's were around $5.50, but prices went up from there. They did have child cups and cake cones to save a little. read more

The best ice cream in town in my opinion. It's very pricey but I think it's worth it. If you go to the drive-through you get served speedily. They are generous with the chocolate syrup. I got spoiled. The family lived in Atlanta and had a Bruster's close by. To me the ice cream has a Much creamier texture than the other chains. Flavors are great and best to me is the chocolate raspberry truffle. Staff is always a bunch of young kids but like chick fila, all the locations I have been to seem to have kids that are very attentive and seem excited to work there. read more

I was at Bruster's, minding my business and ordering my small cup of Birthday Cake ice cream, when a short teenage boy (who I later figured out is named Luke Marvin) proceeded to ridicule how I was speaking and how I looked. He proceeded to tell me how I "looked and sounded like I was five" and when my friends told him I was 18, he proceeded to yell loudly to all the customers and workers about how he couldn't believe I was 18. This didn't matter to me, until my friends asked why he was just hanging around. He proceeded to tell us he worked at Bruster's and that the workers that were on the clock were probably going to "spit in our ice cream" because we were there 15 mins before closing. He then proceeded to walk into the ice cream shop, get behind the counter, and take my friends orders, despite not being on the clock or scheduled to work in the first place. Well, I won't be going to Bruster's again. We ordered single scoops in cups, and what we got was the equivalent of one scoop divided into three portions and charged $12! We love the ice cream. We have never had anything else besides the ice cream. Until yesterday, on a whim because I live for the last minute.... I decided to get my son an Oreo ice cream cake for his birthday get together. A few friends over at the house. Very chill... pizza & ice cream cake. Maybe we should just go to Walmart for one of those Carvel ice cream cakes in the freezer? My daughter tried the flavor of the month, sea salt caramel. She really enjoyed it and gave it 5 stars. Brusters is always generous with their scoops and makes the best ice cream in town. I would like to suggest chocolate sea salt caramel! My husband also enjoyed several taste tests and enjoyed every flavor. Bruster's ice cream will always be my fav! We drive from alabaster to have ice cream here. The smell of those fresh baked waffle cones wafting from the windows is heavenly! Worst experience ever after many poor experiences. I just wanted a vanilla ice cream cone. Went here with my son to get some ice cream after he had a rough day. I watched as my ice cream cone melted while they prepared his banana pudding ice cream. Then they allowed that to sit for several minutes before they allowed me to pay. By the time I was able to pay and receive the ice cream it was soup. Not only that but AFTER it was handed to my son (who is very allergic to peanut butter) the worker asked if "peanut butter banana would be okay because we are out of banana pudding." This is a serious health hazard and terrible customer service. I also did not receive the water I paid for nor did I wish to return to ask for it. Will never be coming back. read more

I've been going to this place for years to satisfy my ice cream cravings. The ice cream is made on site and has never disappointed me. I've only been disappointed when they're out of the ice cream I wanted! They have a punch card for rewards, offer a military discount, and they even have great fall desserts! We often come here after soccer games or practice. I don't know if they have changed their recipe or what it is, but ever since the new owners took over (2011?) their ice cream has been served half melted, more like soft serve ice cream than real ice cream. It is true for all their flavors. It tastes fine, but you have to wolf it down before it melts all over your hands - not ideal for the drive through! (And how do they expect you to pay after they have handed you two half-melted ice cream cones, I wonder?) I haven't checked yet if it is just this Brusters or all of them, but it just doesn't seem like ice cream anymore to me. read more

This is the best ice cream spot in all of Birmingham. The service separates this location from all others. The employees continuously go the extra mile to care for their customers (and their dogs).
