The ice cream is really good here. My favorite is the Banana split! you can substitute any flavors on the menu, and there are a lot of flavors to choose from. This place is a gem in gaithersburg. The ice cream tastes real and it is not even that expensive...and worth every bit of it. My fav is choc with rasberry truffle. The pistachio even jas real whole pistachios in it. The staff are also friendly and helpfull. I come here almost every night and never have any problems, but the girls at the drive in tonight were HORRIBLE. The worst customer service i have ever had at Brusters. From not wanting to give me my extra wet nuts, to being completely rude, she had her back to the window and did not even acknowledge we were waiting even though the line was super long. She was too busy carrying on with the other girls. No Hi or hello and she did not even give me my complete order because she was too busy talking to the other girls at work, which would probably explain why I had to repeat my order 4 times. Brusters please hire staff that actually want to work and provide good customer service and are not coming to work on busy nights to be rude, socialize and argue with customers who actually paid for extra products and not want to give it to them. This is more a review of a young employee than of Bruster's. I just fell off the " no flour, no sugar" wagon 2 months ago so I return to eating ice cream with equal parts passion and shame. So when I finally decide to have it I go to the best. That has always been Brusters. Today I ordered a regular waffle bowl with 2 flavors of ice cream. My receipt says Tre so I assume that was my server. He had me pay first which is not usual nor did he have the customer before me pay first but okay. He then brought me a waffle cone. I told him what I ordered was a waffle bowl with a cover. He returned with a broken waffle bowl and what wouldn't even amount to a full scoop between the 2 flavors. I'm mad at myself because I didn't say anything. It was a young guy, probably new, his line was much slower than the 2 others serving so he obviously wasn't up to speed and maybe the calorie gods were trying to intervene and limit my portion. But after I got home and finished eating this less than a junior cone, I'm not satisfied so I'm leaving all here on Yelp. Tre needs more Tre-ning! read more

Still a favorite! Bruster's is where I learned to love pistachio and where I found that pistachio paired with coconut is even better. The flavors are always distinctive, unlike other places where every flavor tastes like the same ice cream. And yes, this is the rare Bruster's with a drive-thru. read more

I've driven past this ice cream shop several times and noticed there is always a huge line. I finally stopped by today and was lucky to find that there was a short wait. I got the salted caramel and Hershey's chocolate ice cream and YUM. Sadly I had to rush while eating it in 90+ degree weather to make sure it didn't drip all over me, but it was delicious regardless. My wife and I were looking for an ice cream place and found this little gem of a store through a random internet search. The cinnamon bun ice cream was incredible! Decent prices, lots of variety and great hours (11a-10p daily). I'm not sure if they close for the winter, but I'd imagine they do. I'll preface this by saying I am used to Coldstone ice cream. This place isn't bad. It's a nice atmosphere. It's outdoor and crowded and encourages a nice family atmosphere. Customer service is excellent. The employees are extremely friendly. The ice cream was good. It lacked a little bit of flavor but I imagine that has more to do with me being used to ice cream that isn't as natural. I always stop by for a scoop when I am at the bakery in the same shopping center. Today I brought my kids. My oldest had a chocolate milk shake and my baby had a Dino sundae. We visited for the first time on a rainy day which gave us a free scoop of ice cream, if you bring your own banana it is half off banana split sundaes, and kids under 40 inches get a fee ice cream cone. Brusters has the best ice cream flavors on the planet. My faves are Graham Central Station, Coconut Chip, German Chocolate Cake, Graham Canyon, etc. The reason I'm knocking off a star is because of the use of food coloring. Key Lime Pie would be the best, especially with that graham "crust" but it's dyed green - key lime juice is not green. If you want to avoid the side effects of food coloring for yourself and your children, it's unfortunate to see some of the ice creams at Brusters, so I hope they reconsider using the coloring. I ordered a peppermint cone before Christmas and I was so bummed when I saw they had dyed it; I had to throw it away because I'm allergic to red 40, so that was a drag. I'm afraid to ask if there's artificial color in Graham Central. read more

The only reason I give 3 stars is because they are pricey. I did a drive through once, and asked for pecans as topping believing that it is unsalted. I would have been ok with lightly salted, but these had crusts of salt in it. To the point where the icecream was unappealing. What a waste of money. read more
