I'm so happy there's a somi somi in Glendale again! I got their pistachio and it's graham cracker crumbs and captain crunch. The ice cream wasn't too sweet but a perfect treat to have, especially during the summer. The service was very quick too! I will be getting taiyaki next time I come!

I was so excited to hear that SomiSomi reopened in Glendale! They were originally inside the Galleria, then closed for quite a while, and now they are back, but this time across the street. I definitely missed having them nearby. If you're not familiar, SomiSomi was founded by two dessert lovers who set out to create their own version of the "perfect" dessert. What started as a small ice cream and taiyaki shop (those adorable goldfish-shaped waffles that are crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside, filled with your choice of filling) has grown into 30+ locations across Southern California, Texas, Nevada, and Washington. Clearly, they're doing something right. Their concept is simple but fun: choose from soft serve flavors like Cookie Butter, Ube, Matcha, Oreo, Milk Tea, or swirls, then pair it with a taiyaki filling and toppings. They rotate flavors pretty often, which keeps things interesting if you go regularly. I ordered their "Upside Down," which is soft serve in a cup topped with a taiyaki instead of the other way around. I went with the Ube and Cookie Butter swirl and a Nutella-filled taiyaki. The soft serve was creamy and not overly sweet, and the Nutella filling inside the taiyaki was warm and rich. It was such a good combo. My only downside: since they are now in one of the smaller business stalls, they don't offer samples. I get that space and flow might be limited, but when you're deciding between unique flavors like ube, matcha, or milk tea, samples would really help, especially for first-timers who may not know what to expect. Overall, I'm really happy they're back. It's a fun dessert spot, perfect for when you want something a little different than your typical ice cream run. I'll definitely be returning to try whatever new swirl they come up with next.

Somi Somi is a personal favorite, so I was extremely excited to see this soft serve stand added to The Americana, as I spend quite a bit of time at the movies there. If you've never tried the ice cream, go get in line now! The Korean Soft-Serve is absolutely delicious! It doesn't matter what flavor or combo of flavors you get, they are all awesomely yummy! At this location, like all locations there was a line but here, unlike other locations I've been to, the line moves really quickly! Once you have self-ordered, you wait until they call your name. We only waited 5 minutes and soon we were in possession of the best soft serve! As an added bonus, we sat along the edge of The Americana's beautiful water fountain while enjoying a warm SoCal evening.

Stopped by after watching a movie and was able to make it before they closed. We ordered off a kiosk and it was very easy to do so. I got a matcha flavored soft serve in a cup and my friend got the chocolate and matcha swirl in a cup. Our order came out relatively quickly since we just ordered the soft serve. There are some areas to sit, but not a designated area. So we decided to just walk around the Americana while we ate our sweet treat

Very quick to get our order. We had 5 different treats and all good. Unfortunately not too much seating on and not well maintained probably because they're so busy. I feel like the other location at the wilshire center is a lot better but this was good too. Great space if you are out for a stroll or shopping at the Americana.

So happy this place finally opened in Glendale! I always get the ube ice cream and it never disappoints--it's seriously the best. Super creamy, perfectly sweet, and just hits every time. Definitely my go-to spot!

Delicious soft serve that isn't too sweet, and a fun Taiyaki cone to go with. There are a good selection of ice cream flavors and taiyaki filling, and the price was not as bad as I would've expected for the Americana. $6.95+tip for ah-boong with the upside down cone. Can't wait to come back!

I love that they have a Somisomi inside the Glendale Americana now! It makes for the perfect sweet treat while you're shopping. Somisomi always has the creamiest soft serve, and the taiyaki comes out toasted and fresh. The service here is super friendly and nice, and the ice creams come out really fast!

i'm so glad somisomi opened a location near me. there's so many great flavors to choose from, i tried the cookie butter and matcha ube. will be back to try more!

Somi Somi is honestly one of my favorite dessert spots. The fish-shaped cones are already super cute, but the ice cream itself is SO good too. Every time I go, they have new flavors or something different to try, which makes it way more fun. And the toppings are the best part -- there are so many options and you can mix it up however you want. It never gets boring. I've gone back so many times and it's always just as good. Definitely one of those places I keep craving.

A new soft serve spot opened in the Americana, so my friends and I had to check it out. As a matcha lover, the matcha soft serve is a bit too sweet, so if you want an authentic matcha flavor, don't order it here. Besides the matcha, the chocolate, milk, and ube soft serve is so yummy. They stuff up the tayaki with a bit of filling of your choice, so that it is not too messy to eat. I would recommend this place for a sweet treat, make sure to be on the lookout for seats, theres only 2 tables.

The consistently good quality of ice-cream and all the flavors offered has made me go to this place every time I visit LA. A family fav!

Came here for the souffle pancakes and they didn't disappoint!…read more My party of 3 stopped by Saturday afternoon 2:30 pm and it wasn't crowded. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. We chose outdoor since it was such a nice day out. They have all of their desserts on display in the case, so you can peruse the options and see what looks good. So many of the desserts looked good, like the matcha yuzu chiffon crepe cake or the rose and lychee crepe cake. We ordered via the kiosk and got the mango sunshine souffle pancake ($16.50) and well as a couple drinks. My drink was the white peach lemon jasmine bliss ($6.25), with 50% sweetness and less ice. Even though there are signs everywhere saying that it takes 15-20 minutes for the souffle pancakes to be cooked, ours came out super quickly, in 5 minutes or so. We got it with the sauce on the side, but I regret doing that as I saw others getting it with the sauce on top and it was beautiful. The pancake was super fluffy and a bit eggy as well. We all really enjoyed it with the mango sauce. I made the mistake of eating the pancake first before trying a sip of my tea. The pancake was pretty sweet, so I could barely taste my drink, but I think it was good? I could taste a bit of the lemon but definitely not the white peach, which is a lighter flavor. I got a slice of their Hokkaido cheese cake roll for $7 to go and had it the next day. It was okay but definitely a bit pricy for what you get. I'd love to come back to try their other desserts and pancakes!

I ordered a matcha coco jasmine tea and I found that the jasmine flavor completely took over. The oolong peach crepe cake was yummy! It had little peach chunks throughout. Good oolong/peach flavor was light, airy, and slightly sweet. The black sesame chiffon roll was also light and subtly sweet with a nice nutty flavor. The cafe itself was pretty small with 3 small tables, 1 big table, and bar seatings with charging ports. The bathroom was closed and it was really warm inside. I couldn't see myself studying or staying too long, which may be for the best since parking is tricky and street parking has a 2 hour limit. An okay experience, but I don't see myself coming back.

I love Korean shaved ice and this place rates way up there against all the other shaved iced places…read moreI've been here in the states and in Korea. Not only was the flavor amazing (which made me want to return and try them all) but the presentation was definitely instagram worthy. The one negative is that the seating was not plentiful for all their customers but this is definitely not a negative for the owners. That just means they have a great business. Location is in old town so parking might be a challenge.

A Little Cheat Night Never Hurt Nobody!…read more After eating the juiciest chicken ever at Loli Farms, I've been eyeing this dessert spot for a while, and luckily it was only 1.6 miles away. So obviously... dessert was happening. Perfect excuse for a little cheat-night treat! Parking Hack: Don't pay $5 for parking! We parked about 7 minutes away in a parking structure for only $1 for 2 hours. After all the delicious food I inhaled, I definitely didn't mind getting a little extra cardio in. Pasadena parking is definitely doing the most, so parking structure it was! Mango Melon Shaved Ice -- $8.50 | 7.8/10 Mango-flavored shaved ice topped with melon balls and served with a side of milk drizzle. The shaved ice itself was SO soft and fluffy, and the milk drizzle gave it just the right amount of sweetness. The only thing was... I really couldn't taste much mango in the shaved ice. It was pretty subtle, so I wouldn't say this one completely blew me away, but it was still a refreshing treat on a hot summer night. Definitely not the best I've had, but certainly not the worst! Injeolmi Shaved Ice -- $7.50 | 7.7/10 Milk-flavored shaved ice topped with mochi, layers of Injeolmi powder, and more milk drizzle. This was actually our first time trying Injeolmi, so we were curious! The combination of the soft shaved ice, milk drizzle, and nutty Injeolmi powder was really good and made for a fun flavor combination. My only complaint? THE MOCHI. They were soooo tiny! I wanted that satisfying chewy squish, but these little guys basically tasted like mini boba that disappeared the second I bit into them. The shaved ice itself was perfectly soft and honestly the star of both desserts. Inside, there aren't a ton of tables, but luckily we snagged one right when we walked in. And let me tell you... this place had a constant flow of customers the entire hour we were there! People were coming in and out left and right, with only one ordering machine, so expect a little patience if it gets busy. Overall, both shaved ices were pretty decent and made for the perfect little "I already ate too much but I'm still getting dessert" moment. Definitely a nice way to break the diet after our chicken feast! Would I come back? Absolutely, especially to try some of their other shaved ice flavors. Happy desserts!
