We took it to Bryant & Sons and explained what we wanted done. Scott understood exactly what we wanted, and relayed it perfectly to their exemplary jeweler. I got a call 8 days later that it was done - early! Although Scott told me how pleased we would be, I had no idea what to expect when we went to pick it up. I wasn't prepared for how magnificent it would be. It took my breath away, and the work they did exceeded my every expectation. I would give Bryant & Sons 10 stars if I could. If they can do such an outstanding job on such a delicate and precarious project, I doubt there is anything they can't do. read more

Went in to ask about combining some family jewelry into one ring and was treated SO well. (nice piano playing upstairs and champagne at the entrance). Although it is a very upscale store, and their jewelry is exquisite, I was treated very well, quite different than the other comment on here. Bob Bryant takes GREAT pride in producing beautiful pieces. And get this, they were the ONLY jeweler that made me a wax piece BEFORE making the final product. As many times as necessary (at no cost) until the wax piece felt and looked perfect. They are amazing, and kind and take great pride. Bob, the owner, is an amazing philanthropist in town too. This is the way a small "mom and pop" store should be run. It's no wonder they've been in business for over 50 years. I've used Bryant & Sons quite often for service on several watches - mainly the Baume & Mercier brand which we love and own several - they seem to have some issues with keeping dates and stems coming loose but that may just be the use and abuse they get around here. The Bryant team has always been able to resolve complex issues and provide first class service to our needs. I appreciate all their efforts and knowledge and I'm quite sure I will be returning as they are the "go to" business for great service and problem resolution. read more

Knew nothing whatsoever about how I could purchase diamonds which were certified or otherwise assured of a chain of ownership which was not particaping in the exploitative aspects of diamond rpoduction. Other jewelers have been quite helpful on this issue and at Bryant & Sons it seemed as if that was entirely taboo and off limits. She kep trying to "upsell" despite cleqrly stated budget and created the impression that with such a wealthy clientele availaqble, lesser mortals need not apply for customer service. I recently sent it to another jeweler to have it resized and they ruined my ring. Awful. I took my watch in for service, and was told it would take 2-3 days to diagnose the problem, and then 2-3 weeks to complete the repair. The "diagnosis," which turned out to be completely wrong, took 3 weeks. I then reluctantly agreed to let Bryant's service the watch, but they kept it over 2 months without doing any work on it at all. I finally demanded the watch back, took it to Bayshore, which unlike Bryant does their work on premises, and they fixed it in one day, at about one-third the cost Bryant was going to charge me. In thirty years of having high-end watches serviced, I've never seen such shoddy practices. Bryant preys on people by pretending to be a classy, service-oriented store. They are anything but. They deserve zero stars for service from our family. For the second time this year, we have tried to have 2 different Cartier watches serviced here (1 for sizing and 1 for servicing). The same woman (brown, curly hair at the Montecito location) has been rude to both of my grown daughters. On both visits. Today took the cake. After requesting links to be taken out of the watch, her response was "my hands aren't working today" - word for word. They have lost our business for good. read more

Went to Bryant and Son's to get my wife a new wedding band for our Anniversary. This store is top notch and I wouldn't give my business to any other jeweler in town. There is so much markup and funny business with jewelry cost/quality I never want to be in doubt. Michael Bryant was my primary contact and he worked with me every step of the way. Every time I came in I was greeted by someone on the team well before reaching the desk. The high level of service made me confident in the product and that I would be fully taken care of. Michael worked with me to find the perfect piece that I was looking for in my budget. We were able to get me fare more than I expected to get for only slightly above my initial budget. I must say it's been about a year since this experience and my wife loves the ring! Our anniversary made me think to write this and pass on my great experience. The value proposition at Bryant & Sons can not be beat. They aren't the cheapest but honestly not buy much and with the level of service / quality ring we received I'll only work with these guys. Since then I have had some other ring work done, some small diamonds replaced and had an appraisal done. Every experience has been great. With the easy parking on Anacapa and validation it's always a quick trip. If you are looking to cut corners, go somewhere else. If you value service and quality this is the only place to go. Not only did they have amazing and unique pieces, but we also weren't steered towards the most expensive pieces which is quite an uncommon experience when jewelry shopping! I have never been treated so rudely in my life as my mother and I were today in this store. After spending a considerable amount of money for appraisals on multiple pieces, I attempted to look at diamond rings here. Though we were the only people in the store, the sales person was completely reluctant to help us. We had to Ask for help. When I chose rings to look at I had to Ask him to remove them from the case. Despite the fact my mother wears a sizable ring (and yes, I realize it is sad to think this should be necessary to receive respect when entering a jewelry store), the sales person treated us as though we were completely wasting his time. After looking at a few rings the sales person apparently decided our time was up (we were still the Only People In the Store), walked away and said to let him know when we decided what we wanted. So, unless you like to be treated like this, I advise you avoid this store. read more
