My alternator died on me in the parking lot of the hotel. Thanks be to God it happened there since the car was acting up coming down Mt Shasta. Bob at Bryant Automotive was VERY friendly and they took me right in and fixed it up for a very reasonable cost. I HIGHLY recommend their service if you need automotive repair. They even send one of their workers to help me hook the U Haul back up at no cost. Broke down just outside Redding, CA, AAA towed here (approved repair shop), arrived 10 minutes before closing....headed home from Christmas vacation with the car loaded!! Steve (Service Advisor) called his wife to tell her he'd be late and checked in car and then waited while I found a hotel and uber! Got the problem diagnosed first thing in the morning (Fuel pump and filter shot - he said we'd been on borrowed time) and then got the parts and repair done by 4PM so we could get on the road home. They went beyond just professional, I really felt 'looked after' and that all would be OK - and it was! if i could give this contracted backyard mechanics place of business a negative ( o) zero i would !! i took my vehicle to this place to have a gasket fixed on a box thats attached to my transmission that was leaking fluid , i was quoted roughly $ 600.00 and said it would take 4 hours i even had a few other things done while the car was there .. " first lie " car took almost 8 hours to repair with me dropping the vehicle off a hour early hoping it would help them out !! i picked the car up the manager " mac" there said there was a few things wrong with the cars that needed to be done non engine things other than that i have a pefect car for being a 2011 and assured me all work had been completed " the second lie " ... so two days later after degreasing and power-washing my driveway from the past leak concrete sparkling clean what do i find in my driveway??? who would have guessed puddle of transmission fluid in my driveway i was beyond pissed called the manager back explained what was going on he said bring it in i explained i had to miss work for you to give me a qoute on the repairs then had to miss work all day on the day of repair when i was only planning on missing a half of day and now i have to miss more work because your backyard mechanics did not fix my car ... i then asked him for a refund for the non repair they claimed they did on my vehicle , he said he wanted to look at the car and we would go from there i said i did not have time to make it i have missed to much work so fast forward i call on a free day by luck from work and asked for the manager i was told by steven and shannon that he was not available because he was out being a volunteer firefighter i said ok then call the owner and talk to him because according to the manager mac he had spoke with the owner about the issue already shannon calls me back and says they can get me in at 2:00 pm this afternoon i said thanks ... hour later i get a call back i see on the caller id its the shop i answer and guess whos on the other end of the phone the manager he hiked over 10 miles and 6 ridge tops to make it to the shop and says hes canceling my appointment and there not looking at my car and wanted to argue about what other shops i talked and what information i got from other shops instead of fixing my car i then said well if your not going to honor my appointment made by your office im filing a lawsuit.. he said he did not give a fuck and hung up in my face !!! do not use this shop ive missed work payed for services not rendered and now a legal battle !! complete scam shop they contract mechanics out of pick and pull and backyards sad service !!!!!!!! services read more

We were very very unhappy. Had to have an inspection for DMV cause car was broken in to. They gave me appt and checked me in and did preliminary inspection and said 2 lights were out and then they said I had to come back. No apologies. They did not have the staffing to do the job but why they did not say so up front is not clear. They quoted price over 100$ for 2 bulbs. I had car over weekend. Friend who is a mechanic changed light bulbs AND checked all the lights and they all worked. I also took car to mechanic who knew car and was told brakes had plenty of life left. Had to go back to Bryant's shop because we had to have a certification only available there. Took car back for certification of lights yand brakes. Was told that it needed over 600$ of repairs-new brakes and 4 lights. Had to pay. What a ripoff from the break in all the way to highway robbery. Just because I am a female and my spoken English is my 2nd language I do not deserve to be cheated. read more

I can't say enough fantastic things about this place! We were traveling through the area (on our way to Los Angeles from Washington) when we had massive trouble with our breaks and rear seals. A different shop couldn't help us, but they recommended Bryant Automotive as a leader in the Redding area. Because of their expertise, the mechanics at Bryant were able to fix our 4 Runner in three days. (Later our home mechanic told us the repairs we needed often can take up to two weeks.) Bryant Automotive saved us! They even helped us get a great deal on a rental car. The rest of our road trip went smoothly, and we haven't had any trouble since. Whether you're local or traveling through, this is definitely a business you can trust. PS - This actually happened almost two years ago, but I never got around to posting a review. I came here on an insurance claim, my brake lights wouldn't shut off after a car accident. They were very friendly and helpful in dealing with me and the insurance company, the previous shop I visited wouldn't even help me because insurance was involved. Unfortunately the fix they tried didn't last long (maybe 1-2 months) and they wouldn't honor their 2 year warranty because they didn't actually replace any parts. What happened is there's a small metal bracket that holds the brake switch to the brake pedal and that bracket got bent when I slammed the brakes in the accident. On the official paperwork it says they "adjusted the brake switch" but I had to find out the hard way all they did was hammer on the bracket to try to straighten it out, wouldn't call that adjusting the brake switch. Anyone who has experience with switches knows they usually require precise factory specs and cannot be off by millimeters to work properly. I ended up having to fix the thing myself by replacing the bracket. Luckily the insurance paid them because they charged $150 to bend a hopeless piece of metal, what a waste of time and money. read more

We were coming home from Mt Shasta area to Paso Robles when all these lights came on our dash! The check engine light was one of them so I looked up an auto shop in Redding. Called Fritzs and they recommend Bryant because it was closer to Hwy 5. Steve greeted us and squeezed us in since we were traveling. Jason fixed the spark plug and coil and we were off again. To diagnose the problem it's $165 dollars and parts were $198. It had to be done so was glad it was there. Steve is friendly and very helpful. NOT ONCE, BUT TWICE, NOT A COINCIDENCE! 9/29/18 OMG these guys are as good as it gets! I was on my way to Washington when my truck OVERHEATED one day after I had a major service done by someone else. I pulled off of HWY 5 in Redding, CA and by luck was able to roll into Bryant Automotive. This is a big service center with all of the necessary diagnostic equipment that a lot of mechanics don't have. In spite of the fact that these guys had a full calendar of customers, they saw the panic on my face and took me right away. They were able to diagnosis exactly what caused the truck to overheat, ordered the parts immediately and I was back on the road by 5:15. As a women, I thought I was in big trouble, NOT so. These guys explained the diagnostic results in a way that I understood and when I asked them to talk with my husband as well, they were happy to. At NO point did I feel stupid or taken advantage of. As I waited patiently, the woman next to me reassured me that Bryant is the best of the best and that she has been a customer for a long time. She talked about how honorable and respectful this business is. Even though I live out of the area, they treated me with importance, like I was a repeat customer. This business was not only extremely technical, they were lifesavers when I was broken down. The mechanic who worked on my vehicle stayed after hours to finish the job because he knew I was a long way from home. The cost for the fix was very reasonable and they gave me a AAA discount on top of everything else. I love these guys! F A S T FORWARD TO 10/15/18 on my return trip from WA, we hit a very big deer and our vehicle was dead. We were towed over 100 miles and to our delight and surprise, once again we ended up at Bryant Automotive. After a terrible accident with a deer, without an appointment, Bryant was able to get us functionally working and we were able to drive home. We had an antique dining-room set in our vehicle so it was necessary for us to return home in the same vehicle. Bryant Automotive are mechanics with big hearts and exceptional expertise. went here for a smog check. had a toyota truck. they put it on their machine and the car failed. they suggested an expensive comprehensive diagnostic check. i upted to take it to the dealership down the road and it passed with flying colors. not impressed with bryants. the reviews on here are all glowing, and they were certainly polite and professional up until the truck didn't pass. then they became a bit pushy, and when i opted for the second opinion i received the you-dumb-woman-with-car-issue attitude. seriously. read more

Terrible customer service! I will not be taking my truck here again anytime soon. I tried to have my truck smogged (diesel) for title transfer. Unknowingly, the dealer had re flashed my computer the same morning to correct a factory recall. Bryant's charged me $50 to tell me they couldn't smog my truck until I drove the vehicle enough to reset the computer codes. They also didn't ask if the truck had been re flashed anytime recently. They didn't even offer a discount to bring the truck back to them for a smog. So basically, they charged me $50 for 5 mins worth of work, handed me my keys, and expected me to come back and pay full price for the smog I had already paid for. Not a chance in hell! Just a heads up for anyone considering this place. Don't go here. read more

My family has done business with Bryant's for years, but I made the mistake of going to the dealership with my most recent vehicle. After the dealership recommended a $750 repair, I took my car to Bryant's for a second opinion. They advised that I simply needed an O ring replacement, which cost about $55.00. I now know without a doubt that they are 100% honest and trustworthy. Everyone is very nice and courteous, but I was especially impressed with their desire to give me the best service and price possible. I have never received the "dumb woman" attitude, and they have even gone out of their way to show me how to do simple things myself, such as bulb replacements. I was extremely pleased with Bryant's! My husband and I are new in town for Bethel. It was nice to find a professional and trustworthy auto repair shop in town. We will go here for everything from now on! I had a fuel pump repair and afterwards the part was found defective. Bryant's corrected the problem and replaced the part at no cost, since the original part they put in didnt work out. (The first part wasn't their fault as it was ordered from the dealership) This kind of integrity and customer service is rare. They really gave me peace of mind by listening to my "hunch" that the first repair wasn't working. They checked it out and verified a new part was needed without making me feel like my concern wasn't important. I trust their honest and reliable work and know they back up what they do! it dont get no better w/auto service. been a reg customer for 13+ yrs - never disapointed. most recently, had to have a clutch prob sorted out. ford dealer sez it is a clutch pedal assembly - NOT. Bryant excellent mech deduced it was most likely a clutch master cylinder...having heard that, back in the olden days ya had to pump the brake a few times to build up some pressure, (ol guys will nod, say yep) tried it on the clutch. yep. shifted fine till the pressure leaked. Bob, the service writer advised this was the prob and could have the part in a couple days. go for it Bob - part arrived fri and in a scant 1.5 hrs my little ol 99 ford ranger was up & running. shout out to the guys at bryant. have brought many agency vehicles for service & auto work. never disappointed. give em a go, you will be pleased. tx/chas read more
