We were looking for something in walking distance to Rosemont Theater, and happened to have a Lettuce Entertain You gift card, so we ended up at Bub City around 6 on a Saturday. I don't know if they were understaffed or what, but the service was terrible. I can't even blame our server. We were sitting in the bar and I saw her at tables outside and in the big dining room. Different people delivered the drinks, the food, she came back for a second drink order but someone else delivered that and the check. One thing I can say is that we did not wait to pay (a pet peeve of mine). The sunlight light was shining into the dining room and blinding people, so at some point a huge black curtain was drawn to help with that. The country music was very loud. The bathrooms were not so clean. The food was fine. We split a three meat sampler which was plenty for two people. The mac and cheese was outstanding. read more

This meal exceeded my expectations!! The chicken was nicely smoked. Dry on the outside and tender on the inside. Had a nice smoke coating on the first inside layer of chicken. I will definitely order this again!!! The corn off the cob was a first for me and I really enjoyed the chewy roasted kernels with the cheese and lime. I hosted a Friendsgiving event at Bub City Rosemont in November and it was awesome! Since we were 12 guests, we had to work through the catering department. Brittany and Cierra were a pleasure to work with. They adjusted my guest count last minute. For $34 per person you get to pick 3 appetizers, 3 mains and 2 sides. It was a ton of food and everyone said how delicious it was. The band was good and everyone stayed after dinner to enjoy the band and drinks. I highly recommend this venue for parties of 12+. Walked in the door and the food smelled great, however we weren't hungry due to a horrible meal we just ate across the street at the HofBrauhaus. Came here on a Saturday night, made a reservation just to be safe (even though I don't think it was necessarily needed.) This place is great! Very lively atmosphere, very southern honky tonk feel. Great beer selection including a Barrel Age rotating tap which I thought was awesome. The menu had plenty of items to choose from. We ordered the mac n cheese with pork. They sort of just threw a small slice of meat over the mac (should have chopped it or shredded it) but it was still very delicious. Also had the corn off the cob (it was decent), but my favorite was the pulled pork sandwich. Absolutely nailed it! The service was very quick and helpful. Always checking up on us to make sure our waters were filled and that the food was up to standard. They had a live country band come on around 9:30...I am not a fan of country but whoever was playing was a modern American country band which I actually liked. Overall, I would definitely recommend this place to friends and family. Prices were very fair, quality of food was spot on, service was also great. The food in this establishment was absolutely disgusting. During our dining experience it took forever for our drinks to come and when they did come, they were way too sour. So we asked for vodka and club soda. There was absolutely no vodka. Just straight up club soda. My family and I were very displeased with this restaurant. read more

Came here for Easter Sunday brunch and was sadly disappointed. Made reservations for 6 people and our server took a very long time to come take our order. Food all came out except one side order of Mac n Cheese which manager comp'd on the house since it took so long. The food wasn't all that tasty. I ordered chopped chicken salad and it wasn't anything to be wowed about. We also ordered the Green Chile and Red Chile which weren't that good either. We did enjoy the Mac n Cheese. Our server didn't seem very attentive. Didn't ask how the food was. Didn't come to see if we needed refill on drinks and coffee. And I waited for a long while to even wrap our food to go and get our bill. Food and service not that great. Won't be back. I'm sure it is a great place because a friend recommended it. Unfortunately, we picked the wrong night to have dinner. So just stating the facts. Service was slow, it took over 90 minutes to get our food. We were told that they were out of chicken, ribs, pork shoulder, and brisket. They took our order and came back with wrong sides. However, all I had was the Smokehouse Burger: - Coleslaw: Was meh... it was suspect. - Fries: Flimsy, soggy, cold, small portion, and seasoned with only chili powder. Decent place for BBQ. I've definitely have had much better in Chicago. This joint replaced Toby Keith's, which that place wasn't quite great, and to be honest Bub City is a much better upgrade from that (IMHO). The food itself is decent, I usually get the brisket which is nice and tender and my bf gets the Chicago-style ribs and he says they're quite tender and have a decent amount of meat on them. The venue itself is reminiscent of Toby Keith's in that is country-themed and have live bands performing on the weekends. It's quite dimly lit in there but it fits the ambience. Service is always great. The servers there are very attentive and friendly. It is a family friendly place. Three stars because it's an OK place, nothing stellar but nothing terrible. A good, actually better, place to go in MB park other than Adobe and Park Tavern. read more

Have been to this location as well as River North and honestly I have never been super impressed with this place. I like that it is part of the LEYE group and I get my points however the food and drinks have always left more to be desired. I have always been there with group of friends so we always start off with different appetizers. My favorite app are the pulled pork or brisket nachos. The brisket at the Rosemont location was a bit tough and tasted a little too overcooked/burned. The buffalo wings were good but nothing to rave about...they do have 3 other flavors but I haven't tried the others. The fried jalapeno poppers are good... I've had some super spicy batch but some other times they are pretty mild. The classic cheeseburger is good and comes with a side (typically get waffle fries) which again is ok but would def not drive out here just for the burger. To me Bub City is about the convenience of being in the MB park area and they have a good selection of whisky which I enjoy drinking. I also come here if I am attending a concert at Joe's Live. Cool place if you enjoy country music since they do have a lot of live country music playing as well. read more

Never again. After my experience today I am ready to stop eating at these Lettuce Entertain You restaurants all together; I have been at Gold level in their frequent dinner program for years. I think that they have been doing fine during COVID and they don't need my business. Tonight's experience was awful. I placed a takeout order for a 530 pickup and placing the order was an experience. We called three times before someone answered the phone. It took at more half hour and asking several staff about the status of the order which should have been ready at 530. Come on guys, the place is only 1/3rd filled with diners. This is unacceptable. I'm ready to move on, break away from my self-imposed loyalty to the Lettuce Entertain You loyalty program. The icing was getting a bill for Patron on the rocks. It's not my first rodeo, I've been ordering on the rocks for decades. Anyone having the audacity to charge $17 and then topping it off with a $2 rocks charge is unreal. In the city I at least get a great pour if they charge a lot. This was a tiny tiny glass and trust me it wasn't anything special as far as a pour goes. Then a $3.00 surcharge. For what?? I asked the waitress about the bill and she acted like I didn't understand how it works. Honey I've been ordering for decades and this was a complete rip off. Went in on a Sunday mid-afternoon after the motorcycle show at the convention center. The Service deserves 4 stars. Only at a LEYE Restaurant do they flawlessly serve 8 meals to the correct people without everyone swapping plates and yelling out what they ordered. Easy use of Open Table and our reservation was accepted. Our Waitress was great dealing with all of us. She was quick and efficient but not around a lot. The hostess opted to put the 8 of us in a curved booth. Seems the norm for groups of women dining together when I look at other reviews and totally uncomfortable. If you are with a group don't settle for that be sure to tell them you want a table. You can't hear people across the table and if someone in the middle needs to exit, 4 people have to move. Meals were meh. The BBQ sauce was good and all the choices to liven it up were a nice to have. Burnt Ends were fat-ty. No, for reals, they were big squares of fat. I watched my friends cut into them to try to find the meat rather than eat so much fat. I had to try them and while the flavor was ok they were just all jiggly fat. The brussel sprouts were coated in oil/butter. Ok flavor but just dripping in it. Spoonable corn bread was passed around and no one liked it. I had the brisket and it was ok enough fries were lackluster and coleslaw was meh. Had I ordered an $11 salad as three of our group did I would have been upset when I saw it come out. Heck I was upset for them! The shrimp in the one salad were good but the rest of the salad wasn't worth the effort. Fried Chicken Sandwich was the only meal determined to be a winner. Tough to get refills for iced tea even though we were sitting right by the scan in station where the wait staff put in their orders. Try not to sit at the table next to that as you will be jostled the whole time as I watched the 2 people sitting there get knocked around. We gave it a try but really disappointed by the food. Went to Bub City in Rosemont last Friday with a friend and had a better meal than expected. I'm familiar with the RN location and have only been in for drinks & music, didn't know what to expect. Pork shoulder platter was delicious, it is essentially pulled pork with a higher quality meat. Mac & cheese was creamy and delicious with shell noodles! Biggest opportunity for improvement was the sauces. Slightly overpriced for the quantity of meat but I had plenty to take home for my husband to enjoy. I live near the Bub downtown and am a fan. This one is much larger but definitely had more than a few bumps. I came here after a trip to the outlets on Labor Day. First of all, there was literally a crowd of 4 or 5 groups of people waiting to speak to a hostess/host to get seated. The restaurant had people, but was relatively empty, and multiple staff members looked by before one man finally came over and started seating people..slowly... One of my favorite things about Bub City is that their bloody mary bar includes non-vodka spirits! When I asked the bartender if they had any bourbon for the bloodies, he kind of gave me a blank look like I was crazy. Finally, he told me he didn't have any bourbon. But then I saw an Old Forester bottle behind the bar..and asked. His response? Strange. "Oh, we have Old Forester, but that's not bourbon.." What? It was confusing.
