We had a little girls' dinner at Bub City on a Monday night. It was filled to the brim with an older crowd, mostly men, but we were able to be squeezed into a table. I had no idea it would be so crowded! Our server was super sweet, and food and drinks both came out fast. My patty melt & tater tots were fantastic. I genuinely looked forward to my leftovers the next day. My drink was meh. It wasn't strong or flavorful, so we opted to have one and move along. Overall, I think I would return! And I would probably make a reservation next time.

Beef Brisket Sandwich

IDGAF what anybody has to say this was the best beef brisket I had in a long time! That meat literally melted in my mouth such a good flavor and portion was perfect! Priced decent and their fried Brussel sprouts hit the spot! Food so good it put me in a good mood! I ordered via door dash and food was still hot when it arrived. I was sad to see they didn't put any extra barbecue sauce but once I bit into the sandwich I quickly realized I didn't need it. I accidentally got someone else's order of the pimento cheese and guacamole dip with chips and it was phenomenal! I'm coming back here next time I'm in town for sure

A cool laid back place with live music drinks and good food, food is reasonable priced in this era of dining out. The portions are big to share so keep that in mind, decor is Christmas vibes but cute. We left before the live band started up around 8:30 which happens on weekends.

Another great night at a local bbq place. Service was amazing, crowd was nice. And it was a very friendly place for families of all ages. Not to mention room the food is pretty amazing! Great job once again Bub City!

We love Bub City here. I've been countless times, ordered to go, ordered catering. Done it all. It hits every single time. If you're a whiskey fan, you're bound to find something you like or something you haven't tried at Bub. The selection is honestly staggering. They always have multiple store picks available. This visit I had an old forester single barrel that was ridiculously good. They also carry bottles to go of their store picks and other options. When I visited there was some realllly solid bottles available, albeit at a bit of a premium mark up, but considering they are store picks there is a bit more for your money. Now on the food side. Brisket is great. Lean cuts are very very good. Pork is a step above your average bbq pulled pork. Smoked wings are really good and haven't had anything like them anywhere else, although they have shrank in size over the years. Nashville tenders are a must order. Their waffle fries absolutely smash. Heck, even the Brussels sprouts are good. You can't go wrong. They used to have smoked sausage that was sooooo good. Hope they put it back on the menu sometime. They also have live music occasionally so a plus there. Service has never been an issue, always super friendly. They can occasionally get very busy, especially when there are events going on in Rosemont. Thanks Bub - you guys rock.

We had a large group of 40 that Bub City was able to accommodate with a reservation (made several weeks before). The staff were all so kind and accommodating, helping us to feel welcome at the bar as we waited for our reserved tables to open up at the scheduled time. They had a special group menu and I must say, they know how to do cornbread here! I kept reaching for more! I enjoyed the beef brisket quite a bit (so tender and juicy!). The turkey was a little on the dry side for me, but the seasoning was good! The restaurant was open to the outside and at one point there was a large amount of noise that sounded like fireworks right outside-- it made it hard to hear conversation but thankfully it didn't last for too long. Overall, it was a good experience.

This is a jumping restaurant in a lively area. I went during a Thursday night when there is live music on the green area. We had reservations, so no waiting. Food was delicious. Fried pickles came out hot and tasted great. For my entree had a brisket patty melt that was good. I would order it again. Service was meh. Had to ask for refills and when it was time for the check our server couldn't be found. My husband does BBQ well so I am not sure it's worth going back.

Brisket Grilled Cheese and tater tots- the brisket was really good! Tots were just so-so Pulled Pork Sandwich was good

We stopped in as a last minute decision. Very child friendly with high chairs ready. They were only seating inside when we visited so I'm not sure about outdoors with high chairs. My husband is a bit of a bbq snob being from Kansas City and he approved the brisket. They were out of burnt ends so can't speak to those. Our server was very friendly as well! Mom POV: high chairs available, a coloring kids menu with crayons, and cups with lids (with a regular straight straw). I didn't check for a changing table so not sure on that one. We were there on a Sunday evening and our little guy loved running around the green space with other kids before and after we ate.

Chicken for the Caesar Salad

The servings are HUGE here, I thought I would be getting a medium sized salad with a small side mac n cheese, but instead I got served 2 huge platters of food. The caesar salad was alright, nothing to write home about. However, the chicken add on was super juicy and flavorful, it really carried the dish. Similar to the salad, the mac n cheese itself was alright but the pulled pork was amazing. It seems they do their meats well, but the food the meat accompanies is only alright.

Convenient spot to O'Hare airport and the nearby hotel area. A large, lively dining room and bar area with plenty of TVs cranking away (for a game, etc.). Came with a large group while attending a nearby hotel convention and the staff was incredibly accommodating to such a large table. I ordered BBQ ribs with sides of coleslaw and baked beans. The platter also came with dill pickle chips and white bead (for sopping up that extra sauce, of course). Everything was in the average range, taste-wise. Certainly a decent spot for a beer, 'que or one of the many other menu options to choose from.

The food is just OK. Standard BBQ fare. There just wasn't anything exciting on the menu. Nonetheless, it is easy pre-show eats.

After waiting outside for 30 minutes, I went inside and was informed that it would be another 30. They were slammed and many others were in the same boat. I cancelled the order, but had to call the store the next day to have a manager handle the refund. Later that year we tried pickup again, for an elementary school fundraiser, and met a similar fate; we did get our food but they were backed up and it took forever. Well, fool me thrice, shame on me--we gave them another chance this past weekend, again on Father's Day...and they haven't improved. My wife ultimately waited over 40 extra minutes for our food. The staff member said "I understand" but never apologized or offered any restitution. I'm not asking for the moon and stars, but a free dessert and some sincerity would have meant something. They have two problems to solve: first, getting real-time feedback from the store to the online app, so that the app can give accurate estimates of the wait times. And second, handling a busy situation in the store with grace and empathy.

So, imagine my surprise when I found out they had a restaurant on Irving Park Road in Wooddale - and I would occasionally pass it going to and from work! Well, it was time to try it for lunch today. There wasn't a big line of people, but boy did the food smell like barbecue when I walked in! I quickly ordered the two meat combo with chopped brisket and pulled pork. I got the green chili, Mac and cheese as a side, as well as the classic coleslaw. All right - the ambience was just perfect for a small barbecue place. The food came quickly, but I noted it wasn't quite right. I had asked for chopped brisket not sliced brisket. Not a crime against humanity, true, but still I didn't complain and I decided to go ahead and eat it anyway. So how was it? Well, I slathered on sweet rays barbecue sauce, and ate like crazy. The meat was pretty darn good! The green chili mac & cheese was delicious- can't say that the coleslaw was to my taste, but there was nothing wrong with it. The cornbread was fantastic. The only reason for the demerit? Was that I ordered chopped brisket and got sliced. Will I come here again? Yes, yes I think I shall! And I think you should try it too if you like barbecue.

A loud obnoxious table of meatheads was behind us at dinner but the steak was truly the best I've ever had so one must endure. I had the filet with peppercorn and our shared sides and apps sampled were crab cakes, mashed potatoes, double baked potatoes, and brussel sprouts. All stellar. Jin Soo KBBQ was such a solid spot for a full-on Korean BBQ experience…read more From the start, the table setup was on point -- a generous spread of banchan like kimchi, fish cake, creamy salad, and dipping sauces that all complemented the meat perfectly. I love when the sides keep coming and actually taste fresh, and these definitely did. The grill experience was the highlight. Watching the marinated beef sizzle over the charcoal while it caramelized and crisped at the edges? Elite. The meat was tender, juicy, and packed with flavor -- especially dipped into the sesame oil sauce or that savory soy-based sauce with scallions. Every bite wrapped in lettuce with garlic and sauce was chef's kiss. And the yukhoe (beef tartare) was beautifully presented -- layered with avocado, topped with a glossy egg yolk and garlic slices. It was fresh, rich, and buttery with just the right amount of seasoning. Mixing it all together made it creamy and flavorful without being overpowering. Overall, Jin Soo delivers on quality meat, great sides, and that interactive KBBQ vibe that makes the meal feel like an experience. A short fuse and a close call…read more After Emily and I checked in to our hotel room, we wanted to stretch our legs and see if there was anything nearby for some beer and some food. Turns out, Short Fuse was right up the road and a 5 minute walk got us there. For a Sunday, it wasn't too busy but not dead, so we got seated right away. We ordered some beer and took a look at the menu. While nothing really struck our fancy, our waitress made a comment that if we did want any food, it might be slim pickings as they were running out of stuff. Turns out, this day was the last day they were open. Talk about timing! After she mentioned that, I started to notice that people were buying bar signs and various other things. Emily started off with a Guava Gose and I grabbed a Krankshaft kolsch. We sampled each other beers and we both really liked what the other ordered. I don't really know what a gose is but, damn, was that good! I've had Krankshaft before so I knew what I was getting myself in to. We ended up ordering a second round of the same beers and let each other sample the other's beer a little more liberally this time. While we were kind of hungry, nothing on the menu really struck our fancy, especially considering they might've been out of it. Room service took care of those hunger pangs later after a few more beers in the hotel bar. Online reviews for this place seemed hit and miss but I really enjoyed my time there and really enjoyed the artwork on the walls and the vibe of the place. We did contemplate buying some bar signs on our way out but declined as we don't know what we would exactly do with them.
