We all got to wear Mexican sombreros thanks to Oscar
Gladis I.

So my sister's and cousin's got together for an early birthday 28th surprise for our niece Natalie. We were greeted at the door by a young lady that was super sweet. We then met Oscar that was super friendly and took us upstairs to the outdoor patio. I asked Oscar if he can get me beautiful niece one of the small mexican hats they give away to the kids when they dine there. Well he said, yes of course and he shows up with 7 huge mexican hats in all colors and placed them on our heads to match our outfits that alone made our night so special. It was the first time we all got together after our sister passed 3 month ago and my niece mother. So, my niece was overwhelmed with happiness to see us all there, she thought only her Godmother would be dinning with her. The place was amazing and the waitress Arlette was so sweet, i was going to order a regular margarita but, instead i order the basil margarita which was so yummy. My sister each had oaxaca margarita and other yummy drinks. We had the appetizer sampler that was very good and we order guacamole and i also order a hotter dipping sauce because i like things spicy, the one served was mild and yummy but, if you like hot stuff they have a habanero sauce. For dinner some of us ordered fajita bowls and I really didn't care for that dish, my sister liked hers. she had the steak and i had the chicken bowl. My other sister and niece ordered the kick ass fajitas now, that was delicious and we also tried the tacos and flautas. Everyone and everything we had was so good. Then Oscar took photos of us all with our hats and we called it a night. I highly recommend this restaurant in Rosemont and please ask for Arlette and Oscar they are awesome.

We came here prior to a concert at the Rosemont Theatre. We made reservations but still had to wait for a table. Once seats the rest of our evening went pretty smoothly. Our server was great, very friendly and outgoing. We started off with a mango margarita pitcher. It was good but not enough alcohol to give you a buzz. My wife ordered their fish tacos. Fried is the at to go with these. They were topped off with avocado-habanero aioli, lime cabbage, and pico de gallo. I ordered their Tampequeña. It came with a perfectly grilled and seasoned skirt steak. This was very delicious. The steak was very juicy and tender. I can definitely see myself ordering this again. It also came with an enchilada Roja, grilled queso fresco, rajas, rice, beans, cilantro, guacamole and most importantly the corn tortillas. If you're not making yourself tacos then you're doing it wrong. Overall a solid night. It does get packed in the weekends so even if you make reservations, be prepared to still wait. My wife really loved it here so will definitely be returning to keep her happy.

The fish tacos were Amazing!!! The margaritas were great. Some of the other food was a little bland. Dinner also took over 2 hours. It took 45 minutes to order after getting our drinks. We would def go back but prepared for a long dinner if you have kids. Also loved the "man" in the bathroom.

Cool spot near the airport! It was recommended by a co-worker, and even said Ivan, at the bar, gave great service. He wasn't there till almost at the end of the meal, but we did experience his bartending skills! Very nice guy! The margaritas were on point! I have never had Chamoy as a binder to hold the Tajin on the rim, but it's the only way I want it now! I ordered the Enchiladas de Mole, as Mole is my absolute favorite! This did not disappoint! Highly recommend! The restaurant itself is nicely decorated and really sets the vibe. I did find it a bit noisy for me, but the food and service made up for that in the end. Prepare to spend a little money here, it's definitely a bit pricey.

We have a Fat Rosie's in our neighborhood and hadn't been there yet but went to this location after a comedy show at Zanie's next door, in the entertainment district in Rosemont. I made a reservation and I'm glad I did because it was packed! And even with the reservation we still had to wait about 15 minutes to be seated. We were escorted to the 2nd floor (steep stairs!) and sat in front of the bar, which had a great view of the ice skating rink. We had drinks and the queso appetizer which was very good. They have a large menu with a lot of options, some a bit pricey but overall good. Their salsa that comes with chips is good too, and we were trying not to fill up on them. My daughter ordered the quesabirria tacos and I had the empenadas appetizer and one carne asada tostada. (Love that you can order a platter of their various tacos or à la cart.) I wasn't super hungry so one was perfect. Everything was delicious and service was great! We saw other items on the menu that we look forward to trying...probably at our Lincolnwood location. They have several, but for a chain it is good Mexican.

On a multi-hour layover at ORD recently, we decided to pop out for lunch and ended up at this Fat Rosie's location which anchors one end of Parkway Bank Park in Rosemont. Fat Rosie's is your typical high energy, pseudo-Americanized Tex-Mex spot that is big, bright and loud from entry to exit. If you are familiar with Chuy's, it is kind of like that, but on a grander scale. Menu is large and features all the Tex Mex classics you are accustomed to. We started our meal off with queso, then launched into a salad, quesadilla and a side of rice. Queso was solid and the chips were perfection. The salad was loaded and tasty, side of rice was surprisingly seasoned, and the quesadilla, while large, was a bit underwhelming. Our server was super friendly and helpful. He checked in on us throughout the meal and kept things moving at a good pace. The food runners and hostess were friendly as well. The space is large featuring a large main floor dining area with bar plus a long covered patio, in addition to a large upstairs indoor/outdoor area. Given the space, you can imagine the amount of celebrations that take place here. During our visit on a Saturday afternoon, there were two birthday celebrations taking place in the main dining room. The space is super clean, well laid out and inviting. Overall, we enjoyed Fat Rosie's. I can understand why the brand is growing across the Chicago area!

It was very easy to make a reservation and not only were we seated on time when it was incredibly crowded, we were also served quickly. The food was hot and delicious. There was a band playing music and there are festive decorations. We were here for a conference and the server was willing separate our bills without any issues.

It was walkable from hotels near the ORD airport. A vibrant. lively aesthetic. Service from hosts, servers to everyone walking by was great. One of few places that still gives complimentary chips + salsa. Didn't go wrong with the chicken + steak fajitas.

Both the vegetarian items we ordered were great. I would love to go to this restaurant to try chicken items with my friends. The waiter was so enthusiastic and friendly. He served chips and salsa constantly to our big group of people. The ambience was amazing and fun filled atmosphere. Ladies have to plan to use restroom for a surprise element that I am not going to reveal in this review

I went here 2 weeks ago with my team for dinner and it was amazing! We had a lot of food, we had the Mexican Street Corn, Empanadas De Carne, Nachos, Side Guacamole. Individually I had the Guyaba Margarita and Tacos a la Carte: Chicken, Beef, Carne Asada. The staff were very kind and friendly. The ambiance was soo lively! I truly enjoyed everything here!

A quick work trip and my coworkers and I ended up having dinner at Fat Rosie's. Love all the decorations and the ambiance of the place. They have a big open space with plenty of seating both inside and outside. Great place to watch sports as well at the bar area. Food was delicious, we got a few appetiser's chips/salsa/guacamole. And I got the steak fajitas which was a pretty big plate. Service was quick and good.

Food was delicious. They had lettuce wraps as an alternative to tortillas for tacos. Service was kind of slow but overall we had a good time.

They asked if I wanted to meet for breakfast, and so after looking up the options close to their hotel (which was surprisingly limited), I stumbled upon Elly's. After looking at Yelp reviews, it seemed like a great option and would be easy for them to Uber to. And it was a great choice. We ordered coffee, which they promptly refilled multiple times for us, and then two of us got the crepes with either strawberries or blueberries on top, and the other got one of the omlettes. The crepes were extremely good. Portions are great and prices are reasonable given the amount of food. The staff was friendly at 6:45 in the morning (they were way more awake than I was) No photos of the food because it was my first time meeting one of my colleagues IRL (and only the second time meeting the other) and I didn't want to be weird haha. But trust me that the food looked great. I took my leftovers home to my parents' house (because I was visiting them afterward). I let my dad have them because I knew they wouldn't survive the extra 90 minutes back to my house when I was done with my visit. He told me later he put vanilla ice cream on them and they were delicious, so they held up well in the 45 minutes it took me to get from Elly's to their house, and being reheated later in the day. I'd definitely go back anytime coworkers are at a conference and want to meet up (which is surprisingly often. Perks of living near a hub!)

I don't remember it being this bad but... now I know, I guess. Food was not great. The pancakes were kind of--well, gummy is the word that springs to mind. Not pleasant to eat, at any rate. The omelet I ordered, the Southwestern Omelet I think, was ok. It was a bit thin, but maybe that's just because there were a lot of ingredients in it. The "Homemade" lemonade tasted like it was fountain lemonade. I left half of it, and the half that was consumed was mostly because my child wanted some. That was especially disappointing, because I don't order lemonade at restaurants unless it's not Minute Maid because that stuff is awful--and if Elly's truly has homemade lemonade, they should be embarrassed that it tastes identical to what Coke sells. I don't usually eat everything when I go out for breakfast and am happy to take half home for another breakfast, but I didn't want to take any of this home with me. I will say that they're fast--we were here less than an hour. I think it took fewer than 15 minutes from the time we were seated to when we got our meal, and we didn't order immediately upon being seated. We went on Saturday round 9:45 a.m. and it was half empty, though it was Easter weekend so I'm not sure if that had any impact.

Wonderful Rosemont spot for brunch!…read more Came for a late brunch with our pup and had a great time! The patio is dog friendly and inviting on a beautiful spring day! The service was excellent! Hostess came by after a couple minutes to give us the brunch menu. She had to ask her manager if she could bring us the lunch menu- it was around noon- which she did bring to us. Got the hush puppies appetizer which tasted old and dry. Both of us got the salmon scrambler, which had a few small pieces of salmon. Hash browns were dry potato cubes. Our server was brusque- maybe they were short-staffed? He dropped our food off on the table without a word and never checked back on us. He handed me the credit card machine to put my card into when we were done, without seeing an itemized bill like most restaurants. I only saw the final bill total. I regret giving the tip i gave but I felt pressured since he was right there with his credit card reader and selecting Custom Tip for lower than 20% felt awkward. This way of billing at a sit- down restaurant felt very shady and manipulative. Overall, not a good experience. Will not be going back.

Had the burratta & fig, porkbelly brushetta, and a flatbread as apps. Loved it all. porkbelly was so tender, the burratta & fig was a good balance of sweet and savory. Needless to say, the flatbread was a hit with the kids as well. Other notable dishes were the beef shwarma and the crispy duck. Ambiance- LOVE it! It can be fancy if you want, it can be more casual if you want. Enjoyed the church vibes mixed with modern touch. Very well decorated. The outdoor area is so cute, esp overlooking the lake. We sat indoors but still a wonderful ambiance. Bonus: they have a changing table in the women's bathroom. Sorry, could not confirm in the men's. Service- this was definitely impressive. You don't always get service especially at some of these well known restaurants bc why would you have to have good service? We had made reservations online and it was initially indoor. They were so awesome about switching it to outdoor with out much trouble even if we were 10 minutes late. But the air quality was so bad so once we were about to get settled we requested for indoor again. There was only smiles and a happy to help attitude and got us settled. I want to highlight our waitress, Ciara (Sierra?). With a party of 9, she was so thoughtful of our orders esp for the kids. I mean, when we ordered lemonade for them she even asked if she wants us to water it down and as parents we were like YES! They do not need that much sugar LOL! She was just overall so warm and communicative. She checked in and made sure we were comfortable. We intentionally made this our "no budget" celebration, expecting exceptional food, service, and hospitality. Instead, it turned into one of the most disappointing restaurant experiences we've ever had. Our reservation was for 7:00 p.m. on July 2, and despite having a reservation, we waited more than 20 minutes to be seated. During that time, we watched people walk in, greet someone they appeared to know, and be seated immediately at the bar while we continued to wait. My husband had gone out of his way to ensure our anniversary would be acknowledged. He noted on the reservation that it was our five-year anniversary, called ahead before our dinner to confirm the restaurant was aware, and even checked with the host stand when we arrived. We weren't asking for anything extravagant--just the kind of small acknowledgment that many restaurants happily provide for guests celebrating a milestone. Nothing happened. There was no congratulations, no acknowledgment from our server, no candle with dessert, no handwritten note, nothing. We even ordered dessert ourselves, and it arrived exactly as if it were any ordinary Tuesday night. The service only added to the disappointment. Our server was curt, rarely checked on us despite our ordering two appetizers, two entrées, dessert, and several rounds of drinks, and never made us feel welcomed or cared for. For a restaurant positioning itself as a destination for special occasions, the level of hospitality simply wasn't there. Unfortunately, the food didn't make up for it. Considering the price point, we expected much more. Most dishes were surprisingly bland and underseasoned, and nothing we ordered stood out as memorable. At the end of the evening, my husband politely mentioned everything to the host stand. The response was essentially that our anniversary "must have gotten lost in communication," followed by an offer of a dessert to take home. By that point, the moment had already passed. A boxed dessert cannot replace a once-in-a-lifetime celebration that was overlooked from start to finish. No manager came over to speak with us, no one took ownership of the experience, and there was no meaningful attempt to make things right. This wasn't just dinner--it was our fifth wedding anniversary, a milestone we'll never get to celebrate again. We chose Foxtail because we trusted it would deliver an exceptional experience worthy of the occasion. Instead, we left feeling ignored, disappointed, and wondering why we spent so much money on an evening that felt like an afterthought. If you're looking for a restaurant to celebrate an anniversary, proposal, birthday, or other meaningful milestone, I cannot recommend Foxtail on the Lake based on our experience. There are too many restaurants that understand hospitality and know how to make guests feel special. Sadly, this wasn't one of them.
