We're going to crank this one all the way to a solid 5 stars for service, food quality, flavor, and value. We started with the Deviled Egg Flight because I'd never seen deviled eggs featuring Pork Belly and Mexican Street Corn. The flight included three of each, which worked out perfectly since there were three of us. The Mexican Street Corn version packed a little extra kick, but the Pork Belly version stole the show. Honestly, I could have made an entire meal out of those eggs alone. Since it was lunchtime, I went straight for the Pork Belly Reuben Sandwich. I make it a point to try every restaurant's version of a Reuben, but never in my life have I seen corned beef replaced with pork belly. Yikes... I'm drooling again just thinking about it. You owe it to yourself to try this sandwich. It just might be life-changing. (And yes, I'll definitely be back.) My wife ordered the Giant Meatball Pasta while my mother-in-law enjoyed her favorite, the Crab Cakes. Both received enthusiastic thumbs-up reviews. In fact, half of that enormous meatball ended up making the trip home so it could be savored again later. The dessert menu nearly caused a family disagreement. My wife settled on the Piña Colada Tres Leches while Mom chose the Crème Brûlée Cheesecake. Although both generously offered me a taste, my samples were limited to very small spoonfuls. Judging by the fact that both caramel-swirled plates were scraped spotless, I'd say the desserts were a hit. By the end of lunch, both ladies were on the verge of slipping into a food coma, so I dutifully volunteered to take them home. If you're craving exceptionally well-prepared, delicious food, you owe it to your taste buds to stop by Oscar's Bistro. From appetizers to dessert, everything we tried was memorable, and it's the kind of place that has you planning your next visit before you've even left the parking lot. Why 5 stars? Because this is definitely one of the best places to eat in Montgomery! --- --- --- After one visit, I can confidently say that. I had a feeling that I would be impressed with the quality, and I definitely was. Coconut Macadamia Chicken Strips: 5-stars. Of all the things on the menu, this is what I was most intrigued by. My amazing wife suggested that we order that for our son and then two other entrees for us to share. These were such high quality tenders and did not even remotely resemble what you would see at a typical fast food place. Great flavor too! Pork Chop: 5-stars. Best pork chop I've ever had. It was very similar a steak. I could happily eat this on a regular basis and never get tired of it. No notes! Seafood Risotto: 4-stars. Enjoyable, but overshadowed by the other items. We came here on a date night which is rare for us so we had high hopes for this spot. The service was great, no complaints at all on that end. The food was ok and honestly overpriced for what you get. The burger I got was overcooked and dry. What was supposed to be a burger that claimed to be packed with peppercorn had almost no flavor or seasoning whatsoever. My wife ordered a chicken dish that wasn't anything to write home about. $100 for 2 people to have an ok dinner and an appetizer. Probably won't go back. read more

After several days of quick bites on the road, I was definitely in the mood for a solid meal. Oscar's popped up on Yelp and I was obliged to follow! Let me say Oscar's delivered in every way. The espresso crusted pork chop that was recommend was phenomenal. Compared favorably to a good steak. The salad and sides were spot on. Awesome!! This was such a great find. We were thinking about dinner and didn't know quite what we wanted. I'm so glad Yelp pointed us here. We had the Brussel Sprouts appetizer to start. Then we had side salads and for our main my husband had the seafood risotto with extra shrimp and I had the pecan crusted flounder. OMG the fish was crunchy on the outside and trimmer inside. First, the food was great. Equal to or better than Landrys. Had the wasabi tuna and wife had crab cakes. Had the deviled eggs appetizer, good but not over the top memorable. The entrees were super. Cooked and presented very professional. Also enjoyed the tres levhes Pino colada cake for dessert. Atmosphere was cozy but not what one would call intimate. Clientele dress very casual. Service was exceptional. Ask for Sean. Cost was moderate but great value. Most entrees (seafood) are less than $20. Wine and drinks also priced well. We had dinner on a Tuesday night and this place was PACKED. That was a great sign. Our waiter ($eany Cash) took excellent care of us, ensuring he had correctly taken our orders. Everything came out perfectly, from the fried cheese logs, wedge salad, pecan crusted fish, and chicken A&M. He checked on us frequently enough and also allowed for enough space so we could visit. I wanted to try this place before I brought my husband. I asked them if they were serving wild fish and shrimp and flounder. They asked the chef and he said all farm raised.. I asked even flounder? They said yes. I bought cheese sticks and left. very disappointed. I don't eat farm raised fish shrimp flounder...etc. this is why I eat at home. The service was Awesome and the food was tasty. We started out with the Brussel sprouts with Pork belly (yummy). Hubby had the pork chop with garlic Mashed potatoes and veggies, I had the seafood risotto. The shrimp and Scallops were cooked to perfection, the only thing that was missing was the capers, The wife was so sweet she brought me out some. We finished off with a tres leche piña colada cake. That was yummy to the tummy. We will be back to try more menu items. This is a new resteraunt, originally a food truck that was well loved by all. We went to dinner here for the first time and agree with all of the other reviews. The food is good, high end, and also homey. Our favorite was the mussels appetizer. I could have had it as my entree. We also had the wedge salad, chicken A&M and pecan encrusted flounder. All good. Our server, Seany, was professional and attentive. My only advice for them would be to expand their wine list. Especially the red - not so good. Your food is too delicious to be paired with that wine! read more

Our experience trying this new place went like this: walked in to a semi full small restaurant and was greeted friendly and told to sit at a corner table. Upon sitting at the table we noticed it was dirty. Our waiter came over and we asked if he could wipe it down. He asked for our drink order and they don't have a liquor license yet so we just got water. The menu was limited. We thought about leaving, but decided to give it a fair try. We got the cheese sticks and they were delicious. You can tell they are made there and the sauces too. We got a smash burger and fries. The fries were crispy and delicious! The burger had too much bacon for me. I know now to ask for it on the side. As we were paying we were told it was taco Tuesday and the tacos are 2.99. I wasn't too happy to hear that bc I would have loved to tried the fish tacos!! Oh well. A sign or being told before we order would have been nice. Our waiter was friendly. It was our date night and we were a little disappointed. :( We will give it another go. read more

The food is amazing! The service is excellent. This is a very small restaurant, I think they have outgrown the space in the short time in business. But go, enjoy the food. My husband really enjoyed the fish tacos. So much that we returned the next week for fish and chips. The bacon wrapped shrimp over Alfredo is so rich and so good. The hamburger was flavorful- next time I'll request a single patty and take the second home. Our son says the crab cakes are really, really good. There is a full-service bar, Wednesday afternoons they have several special martinis but other drinks are available. We LOVE this fabulous local bistro. The staff are attentive and kind. We have found each server to serve and interact with incredible care, as if they themselves are the owners of the business. The food is AMAZING. Our top 3 favorites are fish tacos, burgers and cheesecake. Something that is unique and much appreciated is they let me order 1 of each of the fish tacos (1 fish, 1 shrimp and 1 fried avocado). Most often other places won't let you do this. I ordered two Shrimp Tostados; a crispy tostado with grilled shrimp, aioli, avocado, tomato, onion & jalapeño. Very yummy (the photo doesn't do them justice). Husband enjoyed the Smash Bacon Burger; double meat patty, bacon, cheddar cheese and yum yum sauce on a brioche bun plus fresh hand cut fries.
