When first walking in, I noticed a nice big seating area with a touchpad to place orders. Which was modern and easy to use except didn't house all the menu options., I then went up to the counter and was greeted. I was given the many options that were shown in another menu on the posterboard on the wall. The ambience was nice and trendy not too many people in there at the time I was there. Food was great. I did get a double chicken burrito which the counter lady couldn't fully closed, a problem I'm sure burrito rollers run into lol I did like all the options and choices of fillings and sauces that I was able to add, I will definitely revisit this place again and recommend it for a nice lunch spot read more

The staff here is very friendly and knowledgeable of their own products. The restaurant seems to be very clean and organized. Nachos: These are very tasty especially when you eat it right there and then. It does not taste as good when you get it delivered or to go. Burrito: The burrito is pretty big and is packed very well. Completely upsetting. Went in here on an empty stomach, excited to use my by on get one free coupon. I was hesitant at first of the outside appearance, however, I still decided to give it a try and grab some grub for my family. After ordering, the manager stated that their establishment does not take official bubbakoos coupons. A cute hole in the wall (almost) that offers a similar Mexican style food like Chipotle, Qdoba, Moe's, etc. Even though I would compare the food style to these other food chains, Bubbakoo's does not taste the same. The chicken I've ordered from here has always been seasoned nicely. They also have a wide range of toppings and sauces that you can add to your meal. They have many great "deal of the day" offers. Think less Chipotle and more Qdoba. There's not much that sets this place apart. They have more options for protein then the other spots. Bowls, tacos, burritos, rice and drinks etcetera etcetera. You chose your protein, your type, your ingredients (which you pay extra for if you're into onions and peppers) then chose your sauce. It's not a complicated process and most items are already made and warmed. Taco shells can be quite pale in color when what you were hoping for was golden brown and crispy. Taco Tuesday may be their best deal. $2 tacos or $3 for steak *but* you must pay an additional $1-$1.99 for peppers and onions. Seriously? Who can eat a pepperless fajita? Or taco even? Weird. Ok so it's another Chipotle-style quasi-Mexican food joint. But I have to admit that their food is a bit above what I expected. We tried the beef burrito with general tso's sauce, quesadilla with sriracha shredded chicken, bowl with spiced pork, taco salad with shredded pork, and a chiwawa, which is panko rice balls covered with breadcrumb and topped with cheddar cheese and whatever your heart desires. The food is great, portion is proportional but not necessarily generous for $8+ to $10+ items, and I love the sauces available as options. Here are the reasons for the 3-star: a) the gentleman didn't tell me about the extra charge related to the mangos when he offered (extra charge is shown only as a footnote on the menu), b) I kinda felt that they may not have matured the process yet, e.g., the gentleman makes me select the content of the quesadilla, put them together and brought it to the kitchen, for cooking and when I asked them about the toppings for it (salsa, corn, lettuce and such) it seemed that he just remembered these and had to put them in small containers (as sides) around the quesadilla once it's cooked... and c) the quesadilla is a bit mucho salty (yeah it's engulfed in cheese as the name implies, but I've had many other quesadillas in many other places that do not taste like a salt lick, sorry :-) But I think I will enjoy another visit and other menu combinations in the future, as the food is actually not bad at all compared to joints of similar nature, with more variations to order from. read more

I am generally a nice person but this place is a mess. Looks like nobody knows what they are doing. The person putting the burritos on the grill said 'ewww' because the grill was dirty! Then while food was on there he stared cleaning it. When I got home my steak taste and looked like it was cooked on that same grill in the same old grease and food... the burrito was breaking apart because the overload it with beans. I would never seen something like this. Looked like everyone was lost behind the counter. Also he said how do you clean it so which to me means that was not done for a while! One of my go-to places for a quick meal! The student menu is a great place to get cheap food that's made well. It's usually not too hectic so there's room to eat and a short line. I will say that they can be kinda weird when you order...the last few times I've went they didn't wait for me to say what I wanted on my taco, but just asked if I wanted everything and kept interrupting me when I would answer them. If I wanted sour cream they would interrupt me and say "guac? Cheese? Pico?" And it made a simple order frustrating. Took twice as long as it needed but luckily I was in no rush. Bubbakoo's is not your standard fare fast casual mexican cuisine ( a la Chipotle ). The sheer number of entree items puts their competitors to shame. Delicious and fresh. I've eaten take out twice, it is a bit difficult to locate them online - and it is not possible to order through grub hub without forcing you to choose a protein. For example, my son eats cheese-only quesadillas, but grub hub forces you to choose a protein so we ended up needing to call and place our order / not a huge deal and we prefer take out anyway. The only criticism is that they are a bit chintzy with the chicken the two times I've had the taco salad. Interestingly enough, the containers they use are really high quality / my suggestion would be to spend less on the heavy duty containers so you can add more "protein" to the meals. This review is for the Bubbakoo's in Hazlet, NJ. This was my first and last time spending my hard earned money at Bubbakoo's. I placed an order for two burrito bowls. The ticket has the order correct, but the order was NOT CORRECT!!!! I ordered and paid for double steak, and I got single steak. It was only supposed to have brown rice, no beans, sriracha, pico de gallo red onions and cheese. It contained jalapenos and corn salsa which I did not order, and the person I ordered it for could not eat his very expensive meal that was ruined by their staff that does not know how to read. I don't have money to waste, and I had to toss the meal. The buffalo sauce on the chicken did not taste like buffalo at all. Bubbakoo's can't shine Chipotle's shoes. I went in August when I knew college kids weren't out in force. At 7pm, I walked right up and ordered. My burrito with carnitas was really tasty, but suffered the same fate as most of these quick, pre-made burrito ingredient joints- 1 side had all the meat, the other side had all the rice. I think I've only been to 1 or 2 places that actually put the ingredients you order in a bowl to mix together and then roll it up, but more places need to do that. The "spicy" sauce is not spicy at all. Neither are the jalapenos. So my burrito was not really spicy at all. Also, they ran out of the grilled peppers and onions when I ordered them in the wife's quesadilla, so I didn't get any for my burrito. All that said, wife loved the quesadilla, and I really enjoyed my burrito. We also got chips and queso dip- WOW. Not only was it spicy, it had great flavor. The bag of chips they give you is huge. soon as I came into the shop a guy came from answering phones and touching the counter tops with gloves I didn't see he just changed. I wanted to order nachos and politely asked if the guy can change his gloves because I know he will touch my food. He declined and asked why and I told him he touched a lot of things before touching my food. I've worked in food service before and always was told to change your gloves in between customer orders. He refused and said no "I did not it's clean". And I said okay thank you and left and he said thank you.
