My mission is to try all the bobas that are non-caffeinated! So far Honeydew and Taro are good. Almond is not my fave but it's okay. It tastes like scotch tape. Idk why some reviews say the boba is hard. Every boba I've ordered has been soft and chewy and I order a lot of boba. I think this is a nice Boba place compared to the one across the street from Santa Monica College. I hope this place stays open. Excellent place for dessert.... But there is no red bean boba smoothies :( After speaking with the employees regarding my dessert upset, they informed me that my favourite beverage was not on their menu because it wasn't so popular with the locals. At the same time we were like, "WTF is wrong with their taste buds?" I settled for a mocha boba smoothie. It was ahh-ight. First time to Bubble Boba, and it was pretty good. My friends and I dropped by one evening for some boba and sweets after a hearty dinner. The place is situated across from a large business plaza, with a couple other shops along the road. I got their amaretto black cherry gelato in a cone, and got to try some taro milk tea. Albeit a bit pricey (a little under $7), the gelato was really tasty. There's a paper wrap around the cone that's glued on - a tad annoying when you rip it off, and debate whether to eat that piece or not. The taro milk tea really closely resembled the taste of taro - more so than any other taro milk tea I've had. Bubble Boba has all of the usual choices that you would expect from a boba place. I got to try the milk tea, which was much more on the sugary side than on the tea flavored side, but it was still quite good. I also tried a peach slush, which was everything I expected. The boba itself was absolutely perfect. I was surprised to see a variety of gelato on display and couldn't resist a sample of a rainbow colored sour flavor. I'm going to have to go back just for that! It's just a shame that this is the only location. I hope Bubble Boba turns into a chain some day! read more

We were driving around Santa Monica when we had the ultimate craving for something cold. I yelped "boba", and it took us to this place. This place is right next to a sushi restaurant, and I'm assuming it's by the same ownership. It's a small place, only 3-4 tables, but they offer gelato, boba, and shaved ice. And in this bipolar California weather, this place is a delight during the scorching moments. Anyway, we were greeted by two Asian girls who were so peppy and cheerful. We ordered a small shaved ice green tea flavor, with mochi and chocolate syrup (per the server's recommendation) because the vanilla syrup sounded awful lol. The shaved ice was alright, nothing too exciting about it. But next time I'm in the area, I'll try their gelato and their boba. Their selection looked pretty good. PARKING is on the street. Probably one of the worst boba places I've been to and I've been to A LOT! I did like that you can customize the milk and sweetness of your boba, which is not a choice at most other places. However, the BOBA (it's namesake) was hard and not good. Perhaps I came on an off night when the boba had been sitting out for some time. But even if the milk tea is sub-par, I expect the Boba to be on point and at least make up for it. Let's move on to the tea, I got a soymilk taro milk tea which just tasted like iced soymilk with a little sweetener. I could barely taste the taro but I did get a hint of some graininess in the tea that was probably the powder they use to make it. I definitely prefer the homemade taste of real milk tea and would definitely give up the option of customizing to get a better end product and experience. They do have a nice selection of pastries and desserts so maybe they make up for it in that arena. Macarons, cookies, cakes - overall, a pretty good spread. They also have an ice cream counter, but after sipping my powdery non-flavorful tea I had doubts about the quality of the ice cream... Would definitely give it another try and update my review if their boba rose up to the challenge! There was a time in my life when I didn't like boba. That time has passed. These days I think about it when I wake up and then the rest of the day. When oh when can I get my boba fix? I drove by this place while going to the bank and knew I needed that hit. I really loved my boba from here because: 1) they have soy milk and that's awesome 2) they have flavor combinations that rock (ie: coconut and taro) My boba got a little clumpy toward the end but it was still so good. I've been having boba cravings for the last few months and I still haven't been able to curb the craving. I found bubble boba on yelp and decided to give it a shot. I usually get my boba at boba time, but it's a little further away and I wanted to try some place new. As mentioned in an earlier review, I noticed the nice display of gelato. If I didn't need to satisfy my craving, I would've gone for the gelato but ordered my usual milk tea instead. The girl asked if I wanted it blended which was a first. I opted for the traditional over ice and she got to work. I made sure to ask her to make it "not too sweet" as that seems to be a common complaint. I was surprised to see her make the milk tea to order. Other places usually have it premade. That was a plus. Now on to the milk tea. Per my request, it wasn't too sweet but it has too much of a milk taste and not enough tea. The boba was also a little too mushy. I can only handle so much slime in my mouth (oh boy, I can already hear the "that's what she said" comments). Sadly, it didn't live up to my expectations. So I'm from Rowland heights and now living near Koreatown where I've had better boba drinks. Although the workers here are super friendly and there's a lot of variety, I always leave not loving my drink 100%. My biggest gripe is that the milk tea here is always milky and frothy. As one person already said, it's more milk, less tea. I feel like I'm drinking milk with a lot of syrup. The boba is actually not bad every time i come....very few inconsistencies and never super soft. I will probably continue to come, since it's the only boba place near my work and i tend to have cravings right before evening traffic, but I'm hoping they read these reviews to change some things.* * One thing I am also very appalled about: the girl was coughing into her hand while making my drink the last time I went. Love this place! They are my go to for boba. Always fast, reasonably priced and some of the most perfect boba balls around. The house milk tea or taro blended are my favorites. I now live in Fontana and I still make a point to stop by for macarons at this location before heading home when I'm in the area. They are far more reasonably priced than other locations. Sure other locations may look better but I found a lot in the area have macarons that flake waaay too easily with the first bite and some are so boring and you can tell all they did was add a lot of just one food coloring to make them look nice. This places consistentsy only varies by the flavor and even then one cannot say any is unflavorful or bland and even more for the price. I don't know anywhere else I can get them for such a good buy for what they're worth. Realistic now their teas are ok and the suchi place they co-own is very nice as well. But I simply must give this place a rave review for these little treats of joy. It's the only place I can allow myself to be boujee with a simple treat. read more

This place is a cute little shop on ocean park. I wanted to pick up some dessert and decided to go for their macaroons. Unfortunately there wasn't really a price sign (or I just didn't see it). So I asked the younger looking kid behind the counter but apparently we were both speaking two different languages. He didn't seem to get anything I asked him immediately. I had to clarify everything three times which was kind of annoying. I asked him how many macaroons went into a small box. After a while I could determine it would fit 6. So I'll take off one star for the service because it was really difficult to order what I wanted. I paid $10 for 6 macaroons which were really tasty. Especially the coconut one. I always judge a boba place by its milk tea. Milk tea was surprisingly really good. You can ask them to adjust the sweetness to your liking. It didn't taste like it was from a powder, like Lollicup. I'd rather come here than go to crowded Sawtelle area. Plus some boba places off Sawtelle is cash only. Not here! Naaaasty smoothies! Beware! The place advertises smoothies outside, which is the only reason I went in since boba isn't really my thing. I ordered a strawberry smoothie, and got what tasted like a melted popsicle in a cup. I watched him make the thing out of: some ice, two (yes, exactly two) frozen strawberries, a few pumps of red syrup, and some water from a pitcher. Blended up and served. This thing is so gross it gave me a sore throat. Worst $4 I ever spent. At least if I would have dropped the money on the sidewalk someone else could have put it to good use. I used to love this place. But the last two times I've been there, the Thai Tea and milk tea boba was very watered down. No taste. The first time I was like, whatever. The second time I wanted to see if it would happen again. It did. Then the second time the male server, after handling cash, got the Macaroons out of the display counter with his bare hands. Seriously. Bare hands. The place in my opinion doesn't care about quality service. They've lost touch. And that ONE MOVE of using your dirty bare hands to retrieve a macaroon made it worse. read more

Came here with a friend, and tried the Jasmine Boba and Regular Milk Tea. His Jasmine Boba Tea turned out very tasty, and he really liked the texture of the boba. My milk tea came out VERY sugary, but the staff are so nice that they remade my drink TWICE. Service is great! Next time, I'll be back to try their 14 different flavors of gelato! read more

Nnnnnnnn, it's really just okay. I came here looking for boba and looking on yelp, it had really good reviews, so what's not to go right? Boba The prices (except for the plain teas), seemed tad on the expensive side, compared to other shops. The plain black tea was 2.95, I believe. Good price! The other slushes and such cost a bit more than what I'm used to. For the taste itself, it wasn't anything to come back for. The good thing is, I could actually taste the black tea. The bad thing is, well it's not bad, but it's just okay. The boba was okay, the tea itself was okay. Environment Small shop with a small counter seating and one or two round tables. All the walls are white and kinda plain and it's not a place where I would want to stay and chat while having my boba. But I did go at night, so maybe sunlight helps. I saw an ant crawling up the pillar, but eh, I didn't like it but it could be worse. Service Nothing to complain about, the lady there was nice. She wasn't all that friendly but she wasn't rude or anything, just quiet.
