Yuni fixed and saved me from an unsuitable haircut that had been bothering me for the past few months! I had originally gotten a haircut in Singapore that immediately after washing did not work for me. I literally could not put my finger on the reason why. I am so happy with my first creative color results from Kengi at Bubble Pop! Went in for a consultation for purple hair, and she really spent time making sure I understood the pros, cons, upkeep and maintenance of what I wanted. I had pics, but she also brought up more pics on the computer and helped me decide what would look best with my natural brown hair. We eventually settled on purple balayage. For the day of the appt, we went over the pics again together, making sure we both knew exactly what I wanted. Once she got started, she was so meticulous and thorough, didn't rush, and was fun to talk with so the time seemed to fly by. When it came time to add the color, she made a few mixes and had me choose which one I liked the best, which I really appreciated. The results were even better than I imagined. We had settled on "WOW factor, but still classy" and that's exactly what Kengi gave me. She styled it beautifully, took pics, and when I got home, my husband loved it as well. As I looked at it more at home, I found so much more beautiful dimension to the color that I hadn't noticed at the salon. Her gel selection is stunning...she is thorough and fast and detail-oriented...she has gel foils and holographic powders and all sorts of fantastic options. Additionally, she has a little dremel kit that she uses to zip through filing and buffing and whatnot...honestly she is the most advanced nail specialist I've found in the city, and she's so sweet and kind to boot, and her prices are incredibly reasonable. Update: The salon owner, Yuni, called me and apologized. She said that she understood my frustration and she agreed that, while my hair looked good when it was done, it had not been what I wanted. She offered me options to resolve the issue including credit for my next service or a refund. The owner was incredibly kind and I truly appreciated her taking the time to give me a call. The 4 star review is for the great customer service. I can tell the owner cares about her patrons and wants them to leave her salon looking and feeling their best. I went to the salon today with virgin blonde hair seeking "icy blonde". The first picture is the inspiration picture I showed the stylist, Kengi. The second picture is what my hair looked like when she was done. I don't have a before picture, but basically, it's exactly what the after picture looks like. Though I'd normally just call it a loss and pretend I was happy, I couldn't. I'd spent $320 for less change than I would see squeezing a lemon in my hair and going to the beach. When I showed her the inspiration picture again she said, "well, she has a shadowed root, and that would look unnatural on you." Perhaps she could have said that to me before she started and we could have discussed other options. I'm sure people come in all the time with unrealistic expectations, but I am a blonde. If a natural look was what I wanted, I would have stayed at home. The stylist offered to try again, so I came back during her next opening. The third picture is what it looked like after the second treatment. It's, again, not what I asked for. She asked if I wanted her to do another round of highlights, but honestly, I was worried my hair would be damaged after 3 treatments in a day. Not to mention by that time I'd lost all hope in getting what I wanted. I feel badly writing this review because the stylist was very kind. I could tell she wanted me to be happy, and she offered to fix it, but I feel like she was not listening to me at all. I am basing this rating off of what I received for the price I paid. read more

I had the most ridiculous, awkward and funny experience today at this salon. I m a business owner too and don't want to harm anyone. At least i can give you some tips before you go there. Bring your own water, don't ask for anything, don't compliment and have cheat-chat with masters. While you think you are having a warm conversation it actually can turn out to different way. My master was Blair . I loved her work. She did great job with coloring and blow dry but unfortunately couldn't get hair cut because she wasn't in her mood. But i have to be fair she felt sorry about it and didn't charge me for the service . Yuni ( salon owner) cute lady but I think she has so many things on her plate, that's why take easy on her. Don't ask for help. She doesn't know how to solve the complications. In general salon is nice, masters are really good but customer service is meh. If you have a strong nerves and you are careless about it , then it's not a problem. Originally I had planned to go elsewhere for a color and cut, but because they were fully booked and couldn't take walk-ins that day, I had to look elsewhere. I called in at 10:50 AM, they had a last minute appointment cancellation, and said they can take me if I can be in at 11:15. My hair is very "wirery", thick, dry, and have been unmanageable. My hairstylist was Shelly, and she is amazing, the whole time I was in the chair, she explain to me how my own hair works, the best way to manage my hair, and gave me the best haircut I've ever had! My hair was also crazy with different colors and washes from previous dyes and years of weird colors and fades from over washing. Shelley took the time to mix up four different batches of dye for different areas of the hair and it turned out so beautiful! It even looks super attractive the day after, after I slept in it. We chattedaway about the larger questions of life--traveling,boys, drinking and apartment hunting in SF. She razored and snipped and before long, she had me look at myself in the mirror. WAIT?! It took about 2 hours but it looked awesome! I got lots of compliments on it during the party, thanks Carla! A week later, and I'm still getting compliments on the fabulous haircut Carla gave me. I would recommend her services to anyone... In fact I have done just that on a number of occasions as the compliments have begun pouring in:-) The salon itself is chic, stylish, clean, and in a great part of town; their staff took great care of me. The front desk attendant was particularly attentive to my needs during my session- making sure I was taken care at all times. I have a pretty unruly mane of hair; and to make matters worse, have been attempting to cut my own hair for the last few months, so needless to say Carla had her work cut out for her. Despite the challenges, she managed to give me a stylish, versatile look. I can slick it back w/ product for professional occasions, or let it fly natural when I'm performing with my band etc. Her rates are also very affordable, meaning she and I can continue sculpting a unique look w/ "touch up" appointments every 2-3 weeks. Got dip powder done and came off in 12 hours. They added the gel top coat, which is the lazy and incorrect way to finish the nail. They didn't even have the proper top coat, and I had specifically asked about it before I began the manicure, and I was assured I would not have to use gel or cure the polish. Then they put on gel polish as a top coat. The proper top coat was too hardened to use. I checked with the salon and they will not have the proper top coat to fix my nails. Waiting for the manager to call me back for a refund. Sanitation-wise: they dipped directly into the jar, which is not sanitary. read more

finally found a hair salon in the city I love!!! I booked day of on a Sunday for a spontaneous haircut. I've been wanting to chop my hair off for a while now but never did it. And Kelbi just knew what I was describing. Her recommendations were great and I love my hair more and more everyday! Fast forward 7 weeks - I didn't realize short hair was so hard to maintain length (not style that was easy for me I usually just try to toss and bend it with a straightening iron for a Beach wave casual look - taught by kelbi!) so I got my hair trimmed for my bday. Definitely booked with kelbi again, I explained that the first haircut grew in kind of thick so she took corrective actions for this second haircut and it's growing in better!
