I've had a few different flavors of bubble tea but, my favorite is the Honey dew milk tea. The quality of their drinks are perfection~!

I first tried bubble tea in Korea and was hooked. Bubble tea express has friendly and helpful customer service. The staff is very knowledgeable of the product they sell. They also have delicious food at custom levels of spiciness. The only negative about this place is their sanitary rating is rather low, but other than that this place is awesome. read more

I absolutely love love love this place! The people working in there are always pleasant and friendly, minus a couple of times. The very few times I've been and the worker wasn't friendly and were rude and had attitudes are far outweighed by the amazing people who have stayed there. The bad apples are never there long. I go to Bubble Tea Express in Westwood nearly 3-5 times a week. Needless to say, I've gotten many free drinks, simply by buying drinks and getting my cards stamped. Every flavor I've tried which is pretty much every flavor they have is amazing. The only one I didn't care for was the coffee flavored milk tea but that's just personal preference. My favorites are: Rose and rose and vanilla milk tea and smoothie, lavender and vanilla milk tea (you can get up to two flavors with no additional charge) I like to add vanilla to some flavors to cut them as some are strong. The rose milk tea is quite floral which is great but sometimes I add vanilla to cut it. The rose smoothie isn't super strong because they use syrup instead of powder in their smoothies. And Taro milk tea and Honeydew Milk tea. All amazing. The popcorn chicken is out of this world. The small is still a good sized portion. I have nothing bad to say about this place. I've gotten quite a few of my friends drinking bubble tea. My best friend's two kids love it! They love the popping bobba as well as I. I get popping in every drink I get. The seasonal and holiday flavors NEVER disappoint. I think my most favorite drink of all was the Candy Cane milk tea for Christmas time. They put real candy cane pieces in it. The kiosk at the mall was great the first couple of times but I quit going there. The girl that was there (not sure if she's still there) was incredibly rude. She had no personality and laughed at me like my question was stupid. Last time I went, I got there 15 minutes before the kiosk normally closes and she was playing on her phone and told me they were closed. I said "I thought I had 15 minutes?" She said "nope. I just said we're closed" and proceeded to turn around and ignore me. The way she said it really kinda hurt my feelings. I expressed this to the girl working at Westwood and she apologized profusely and said she knew who I was talking about. I'm really happy that she apologized but it wasn't her place to. She did nothing wrong. The girls and couple of guys at Westwood are just as sweet as can be. They're always fast, efficient, and get my drink out to me in less than a minute nearly every time. The only time I've had to wait more than two minutes is if someone is ahead of me in line and even then, it's super quick. Also, I have to wait a few extra minutes if I get popcorn chicken because it's made to order right then. And it's sooooo worth the wait. Best popcorn chicken I've ever eaten in my life. I just don't have enough amazing words for this place. The workers are used to seeing me every week and always ask how I am and how work is going. They really make you feel like they care about you and that's my favorite thing about that place. I wish I knew all their names because I'd like to mention them all individually and what I appreciate most about them. Please note: I am rating this place as someone who only likes bubble tea, not as someone for whom it's a religion!!! That being said, my husband and I had a pretty hilarious experience here. I'd had bubble tea once or twice, and since he likes gummi candy, I thought he might like the squishy little tapioca globs. We walked in, and there was a group at the counter that took quite a long time to order. It seemed like a ridiculously complicated process. Then when it was our turn, the friendly folks behind the counter saw our confused faces (especially my husband, he was still undecided about milk tea, juice, or whatever) and demanded to know, "Have you had bubble tea before?!" before launching into a lengthy dissertation on the history and virtues of bubble tea, and their own personal experiences with discovering its joys. Great for a place that's all about bubble tea, but still hilarious and even a little pretentious. There was even a customer who said, "you haven't had bubble tea?? It changed my life! I come here everyday!" (okay maybe a sliiight exaggeration, but really, he said something very similar). Then we tried to pay with credit card, in spite of the cash only sign on the door (drrrr...) and had to go to Food Lion and get cash back... we felt obligated to return after such a fuss. After all that I knew my husband probably wasn't going to like it anyway, and sure enough, he didn't. He didn't get the excitement over squishy little balls, and thought it was way too sweet. Mine was too, and I asked for reduced sugar. He threw his out... money down the drain! However, I do like the squishy boba despite not being willing to pay for someone else to make them, so I went to a local Korean market (Kim Chi Chib) and bought bubble tea straws and tapioca pearls. You can also buy milk tea powder, etc, etc, but I prefer it in unsweetened tea. You have to cook the "bubbles" for a while and then put them in a sweet syrup for flavor... realizing this made me realize just how much sugar is in those drinks! Anyway, we still laugh about the experience to this day, and if you really, really love the stuff then I recommend doing what I did: save money, go to the Korean market or online and buy the ingredients yourself. read more

The last few times I have purchased a drink from BTE were a success. Unlike the past, when I recently requested less sweet the tea was the predominant flavor. I do not know the cause (employee retention/training?), but I am very pleased and have been returning more frequently. read more

I LOVE Bubble Tea. Trust me, I grew up with this stuff. Bubble Tea Express does a good job on the authenticity of the Taiwanese street food. It's not easy to operate a bubble tea shop. I almost went into the business myself; my mom is best friends with one of the largest bubble tea material distributor in Taiwan. Bubble Tea Express does an excellent job at cooking maintaining the sweetness and chewiness of the tapioca. I do wish the tea has a stronger taste to pair up with the sweetness of the tapioca. Everything else is superb except the speed of the service. Each time I have visited the shop, the services were EXTREMELY SLOW. Last time I called to order 15 min ahead of the time and still ended up waiting for an additional 20 minutes. Com'on people back in Taiwan can crank out two cups of bubble tea within 5 minutes! Amazingly, despite the slow service, I still keep coming back because it reminds me of home so much. It's a sweet spot to hangout with friends as well. You definitely need to give Bubble Tea Express a try. read more

I should preface this by saying I spent several years in Asia and quite possibly have been spoiled by legit bubble teas. This is the only bubble tea I have had since moving back, so I don't know how it measures up to its American counterparts. Now, that said, the bubble tea is waaaaaaay too cloyingly sweet. I have literally thrown it out even after having them make it with half the sugar, I really want to like it so I've been there a handful of times trying different things hoping to find my ticket. Of the milk teas, I think the Earl Grey is one of the better flavors. Otherwise, I would stay with the fruit fusion teas as their sweetness is generally counteracted a bit by some tartness, and you can still taste the tea over the sugar. Plus who doesn't love popping boba which goes nicely with the fruit flavors? As far as food, my husband loves squid balls and ordered them there. They looked a bit off (most diplomatic way I can say it) and tasted the same way. He disliked them enough to toss them, and he is a garbage disposal when it comes to food. Ok so that all said, the employees have always been very friendly and helpful. I've watched others there come in with questions about the drinks, and they are patient and cheerful in explaining everything. That does go a long way. They do have games that you can play at the tables if you like which is neat. So, long story short, if you aren't looking for really authentic milk teas and/or don't mind drinking sugar bombs, then this is a nice little place. I will still go back because I need some kind of bubble tea fix, but I'll just stick to the fruity options which are pretty decent. UPDATE (July): The store has taken on some new staff members who are not quite as good with customer service. My mother was recently in town, so I took her to get a bubble tea. The new staff was still using cheat sheets to make the drinks and tasting every single one, which is fine, as long as they're thoroughly washing those spoons which seemed to be reused... Anyway, my mother told the employee she was new to bubble tea and needed some help ordering. She chose pineapple popping boba which actually is not an option there. Instead of advising her of this, the cashier rang it in as pineapple jelly instead of boba. Well, my mom got her drink and realized it was not what she ordered. She asked them to remake it, but they insisted that she would have to pay for another drink. Completely unsatisfactory. I told them that if there was any confusion with her order, they ought to have asked her for clarification instead of just dumping the jelly in there. They then said, "Well, we can give you a smaller straw so you don't get any of the jelly when you take a sip." Um, no? I told them that was unacceptable, and finally they relented and remade the drink... But only after putting her back at the end of the line. They were really rude to my mother, who is so sweet and a SENIOR CITIZEN for goodness sakes! They really need to work with these new employees on customer service. Extremely irksome. On the upside, I've discovered that the snow bubble drinks appear to have less sugar than the milk teas and are a good option if you don't like super sugary drinks. I've tried green tea and taro, and they are both good. After a few questionable experiences there over the past six months, I would take my business elsewhere if I weren't so addicted to bubble tea. Don't pay attention to the posts from people who haven't had boba elsewhere; not their fault, but they don't have a baseline to compare against. I really hope the owners decide to open a shop north of Fort Bragg so I don't have to drive 30 minutes to get my fix -- something I'm still willing to do because the place is so good! read more

Over $5 for a regular bubble tea is crazy price. It's black tea and milk. Taste is good, but don't think I'll go back for the tea.

The boba and snacks here are ok. I find the main location a little out of the way but there's a location inside the mall as well. I'm more likely to order a boba from the mall location for convenience. The menu items and snacks are typical of other boba places. I didn't see much of a special menu and the employees took awhile to take orders and make drinks. read more

New to NC Fort Bragg.. Coming from Hawaii where BOBA is extremely popular with with locals! Being Hawaii and Japanese I found this place to be a little taste of home here on the east coast! I simply love bubble tea! I allow myself a weekly treat paired with the tasty popcorn chicken, which is fresh and made to order. My favorites are the Earl Grey Milk Tea and the fusion tea; they taste fantastic and the fusion drinks when paired with a fruit flavor, comes with small fruit pieces and tastes just like the fruit itself. This is a great place to hang out for it's free wi-fi and the overall decor is warm and inviting. The boba is the best and freshest since the owners take pride in their products and ensure quality by cooking them in small batches throughout the day. My whole family loves the Bubble Tea Express! My husband and my son prefer the milk tea and the Thai Ice tea, of course with boba. Grandma's favorite is the mango snow bubble with mango jelly; she always gets this whenever she is in town. Love the new decor, the brightly colored tree next to the store sign sets the tone for a tropical paradise. Come and visit this island oasis and cool down with a tropical drink! read more

If I could give 0 stars, I most definitely would. I went to their mall location last Saturday evening (6/17) and definitely had the worst experience there was. For starters, there were only two people working (which seemed reasonable since it was a small facility) but only the young lady was making drinks while I was there, as for the young man was just sitting watching. Mind you, this was my first time here so I needed a little clarification. The young man didn't even bother to greet me but instead blandly asked me what I wanted. I asked him to explain the menu to me, which he did while talking to me as if I were deaf and had a mental condition that required people to talk to me like I don't understand English. I pushed that to the back of my head and carried on with my payment. Thankfully the young lady who actually made my drink was very kind and kept a smile on her face while interacting with customers in what looked like a semi stressful environment. (Side note) I'm not one to leave reviews, but I felt so disrespected by this young man that my experience should be shared with others. read more

Just moved to town a month ago. Went for the first time ever Friday evening when I saw the sign before I went to Food Lion and absolutely loved it. Everyone working was so kind, and our drinks were excellent. However, I was at cross creek mall this evening with my friend and saw there was a location there. The tan, curly haired girl working didn't really seem too polite or pleasant, kind of seemed like she didn't want to be there that day and it definitely showed. She didn't have the best customer service, and smoothie came out very watery as well, not much flavor. I am definitely going to be coming back, but hopefully my drink will be more consistent like it was Friday. read more

Im so happy that we have a place in Fayetteville that has quality Bubble tea. I have been wanting to try it for so long. Im a total addict. Some people have their Starbucks. But for me its Bubble Tea all the way. You really are missing out if you havent been. The staff are so friendly and helpful. The owners are awesome. They are really sweet and considerate. You can automatically tell they take pride in Bubble Tea Express and making their customers happy. Its such a warm and inviting atmosphere. Im really picky about public restrooms and the bathrooms are always clean and fresh. So you know if a place keeps the bathrooms clean. Everything else is clean too. I have tried just about everything on the menu and its all very good. The potstickers are a must try. Very delish. As well as the sweet potato fries and chicken. They even do lunch combos. (How cool is that):) As well as a tea of the day. IF you dont want tea. They have Snow bubbles or slushies. My mom loves the mango snow bubble. My favorite is the bubble milk tea with double boba.mmmm...yummy:) I love that you get a buy 10 get one free card. Its nice to be rewarded for being a loyal customer. Ive read some reviews where people complain about the wait time. I assure you it is well worth the wait. Everything is made fresh and with quality ingredients. Some wait time is to be expected. Im confident in saying that if you go you wont be disappointed.:) My only reccomendation is that. I would love for them to start selling Bubble Tea Express T-shirts. I LOVE this place! I was introduced to this by my sister who is a Marine and did a tour in Thailand. She expressed to me how authentic the bubble tea was and how the food was true to the Thai street foods she loved to sample after partying with her friends. I loved the really relaxed and casual vibe and appreciated the enthusiasm we received while ordering. Our server was adamant about us trying the Boba and even offered us a few fan favorites and a few personal ones as well. We decided to try the squid balls, popcorn chicken, mango tea, and the chai tea, my personal favorite. Upon getting our food, the aroma was appetizing and the difference was evident. This was not a McNugget or your average popcorn chicken. The care and quality was unsurpassed and the seasoning made for an interesting contrast to our sweetened teas. The squid balls threw me for a loop but I was pleased at their sweet and spicy undertones. My chai tea was heavenly! I could smell the spices and the tea was strong enough to stand up to the sweetness. Needless to say, I have 2 loyalty cards :) I am so thankful to have Bubble Tea Express as a member of our community and a place that embraces and promotes quality. The staff was very friendly and helpful as I had never had any sort of bubble tea before. However, I tried a variety of teas that were all room temperature and frankly not good. I ended up ordering a strawberry black tea with strawberry boba and it was not up to par. The restaurant also smelled a little fishy when I first entered. read more

yeah i was happy to know there was a boba shop in fayetteville, i had gone in about 3 weeks ago... there was a young man talking to one of his friends about music stuff, i swear that if i hadnt said hello, he wouldve never seen me in the shop... to make it worse, i ordered a taro... its my favorite drink, and there was a short chunky asian looking girl who was just giving me a nasty smirk for no reason.... i will admit my drink was great but i dont cant stand waiting for 10 minutes on a drink when the girl disappears and stops making my drink. when i finally got my taro it was melted and very liquidy.. people in that shop need to learn how to smile... they all seem very stuck up.... i think making the bubble tea should be left to real asian people to make... i honestly can say ive seen better and i wouldnt tell someone to go to bubble tea... super expensive and slow.. read more
