Well, I decided I was craving some Bubble University a few nights ago so I drove over to get some boba! I saw there was a long line, which was fine, I remember their boba was fantastic so I thought it was worth the wait. I waited almost 30 minutes before even ordering. I ordered my old favorite, Allison in Wonderland with Pearl Boba. My sister got her favorite, Brown Sugar Milk Tea. We placed our order at 5:39 and didn't get our drinks until 6:09. Also, the ordering process is very unorganized. They have 1 kiosk you order from and they also have an online ordering system through a mobile phone. I tried using my phone but it said it wouldn't be ready for pickup until the next day. The girl standing in line behind me, decided to do the order online anyways and take a risk. Even though she was behind me and it said it wouldn't be ready for pickup until the next day - she got her drinks before me! I'm hoping Bubble University can fix the order process because it's genuinely frustrating. Also, I noticed the flavor of my drink tastes different. It definitely feels like it has lost flavor. I'm also disappointed to pay extra for boba when they have started skimping on it! Overall, I'm pretty disappointed and I hope Bubble U can fix these issues! Stopped by Friday afternoon to get my boba fixed. The lady at the front counter was super nice and helpful with answering my questions. While I LOVE boba milk tea not all boba teas are made the same. The tiramisu coffee caught my eyes, but I was afraid it would be super sweet. Upon learning that they used cold brew as their base I was sold. I asked for 75% sweetness and it was perfect! The bitterness of the cold brew was strong and the tiramisu flavor came through at the end. The salty cheese top added a nice creamy and saltiness touch to the whole drink. Will definitely be back to try their other drinks. They have a small menu, which I like. Sometimes with a larger menu your drinks can suffered. Hopefully they'll continue to do well. This is my second time here, the first time was only ok, my thai tea wasn't sweet enough, so this time I ordered it extra sweet, I got it and it wasn't sweet AT ALL. I went back and told them it wasn't right....did they remake it for me??? Nope!! They literally handed me a cup of sweetener and, I swear, I can't make this up, said "so we don't have to remake it" EXCUSE ME?! First they messed up me and my friends order. We went there to get boba and they gave me a smoothie which I didn't order? I added lychee to my order which costed extra and they didn't give that to me or the actually boba itself! Then there was only like four people in the store and we ordered before everyone and we got our last and it took like 15 minutes which made us late to where we were going. The drinks themselves were just not good and they tasted watered down and didn't have any flavor. Neither of us enjoyed the experience and will not be going there again. read more

When I first moved to Roseville the only boba place was tapioca express. I am so glad that Roseville finally has boba options. I usually go to The Bomb but it was closed due to construction. I decided to find the nearest boba place which was Bubble University. It is right next to L & L restaurant. We are still in the midst of COVID 19 so Bubble University requires mask. There cannot be more than 3 people in the tea shop and you cannot wait in the shop. In addition orders are completed using the kiosk which is really convenient. Once you order and pay you wait outside and get alert via text when the drink is ready. Now for my order...I ordered the earl grey soy milk tea with boba. 50 % sweetness and less ice. The earl grey had a strong floral taste/smell so it tasted artificial to me. It was very sweet even at 50% sweetness. As for the boba it was overcooked. I stopped in on a Sunday afternoon, which seemed to have a nice flow of customers without having to wait too long. They had a new self-checkout kiosk where I was able to order and pay for my drink with ease. The staff and establishment seemed to be following safety regulations for Covid19. They have a chalk board at the entrance to let you know they don't accept cash payments and must wait outside for your order. First time here!! I ordered the Rose (organic) Milk Tea with less ice and regular sweetness + Boba & matcha icecream . It was one of the popular ones so might as well since I'm in the area. You have to really stir it to get the freshly made taste, if not you'll be sipping sugar like how I did. The boba was dense and well boiled. The tea itself was good and not too strong as most places. I also ordered the Thai milk tea with boba, quarter ice and regular sweetness. It was quite disappointing. I would definitely not order this drink again. It was too sweet for my liking. Was on the way back home from snowboarding up in the mountains and was craving some tea and lychee. This location is located pretty conveniently off the highway, my brother me and his GF all got drinks and loved them. I really love this place. Their way of handling COVID-19 is really great, I feel safe walking in every time. They have a limit of 3 customers to be in the store at any given time. Plus, the way to order in-store is contactless! I never been here pre-COVID-19. My order is always the taro milk tea while my partner gets the brown sugar milk tea that has the golden boba. [General Info] It's my first time here and I initially came for the BTS birthday event for J-hope. [COVID-19 Precautions] During the event, COVID-19 precautions were handled pretty well. I'm not sure if the same thing happens when there isn't an event, but here's my experience. You socially distance in a line outside. They allow one party at a time to come in, and you order at kiosk. After ordering and getting the drinks, the next party can come in. For this event, however, after you order at the kiosk, there's an area where you can take pictures and get some goodies, so I found that usually two parties were in the store at once. Since this was for the event, I didn't mind it as much since the kiosk and fun booth/merchandise table were pretty socially distanced from each other. [Drinks] Next the drinks, I ordered (1) brown sugar organic milk with cream on the top, organic milk, and pearl boba, at regular sweetness; (2) luna matcha with both golden boba and pearl boba, honey 30%; and quarter ice 25%; (3) cold thai milk tea with organic milk, half ice 50%, quarter sugar 25%, and pearl boba; and (4) cold taro milk tea with organic milk, half ice 50%, half sugar 50%, and pearl boba. [Review on Drinks] My order was the luna matcha, but I got a small sip of each drink, so I'll give as much info as as I can. (1) Brown sugar boba -- I found it to be quite creamy and tasty. I had a sip of it after it was in the fridge for a couple hours, so most of the sugar already sunk in/mixed with the drink itself. I think it's pretty tasty for the price given, and would be happy to drink again. (2) Luna matcha -- I recommend giving the luna matcha a good mix before judging it. It comes with the salted cheese foam on top so it gives the earthy matcha a good creaminess. 30% sugar is good for me, since I don't have the strongest sweet tooth. Really enjoyed this! (3) Thai milk tea -- I find that thai milk tea can either be really tasty or watered down. I ordered it at 25% sweetness, so I found it a bit bitter. And the people who actually drank the thai milk tea, (not me, who just got a sip) found it the same way. I also think the thai milk tea should be brewed a little longer, because I found it a little watered down. (4) Taro milk tea -- I ordered this at 50% sweetness and it's really good! It was not watered down, so that was really nice. And I got a good taro flavor coming through. Now the boba, the regular pearl boba is really tasty. Not too chewy and not too hard. Perfect! I did find some clumping, but I personally don't mind that. The golden boba is really good too. For the Luna matcha, I got a mix between the two pearls, and when it came to the final bits of boba at the end of the drink, I tried to compare/contrast it, and there wasn't a lot of differences. I did find the golden boba more gelatinous and "lighter" (?) than the regular tapioca pearls. [Final Verdict] Would I come back here? Yes, for sure! Especially if they're gonna have another BTS-related event, haha! The menu isn't too big like other places, but they do have some pretty unique drinks, and I can tell they do their best to pay attention to quality of the drinks. The cups are also really good quality! It may be on the more pricey side, but for serving up drinks this good, I'd visit again :) read more

I was actually headed to another boba spot when we happened upon this location (the other spot is right across the street, but closed, I suppose due to COVID19 restrictions). Anyhow, glad we found the location. A bit disappointed because they dont have juice only boba drink options for my little guy who boba... but their selection is cool otherwise. My first time there we got a juice/tea for my son, but it was chopped full of seeds!! Not sure what kind but MAYBE, just maybe you are supposed to eat the little black seeds?? It was really confusing because you would suck up a ton of seeds along with the pearl boba at the bottom...my brain is saying reject the seeds but eat the boba...I havent mastered spit and swallow at the same time... needless to say my 4 year old didnt like it (yuck!) SO, we wont order that again. BUT my husband and I go the tiramisu coffee boba...whooo what a treat! This drink alone would have me coming back over and over. It was sooo good! My 2nd visit (less than 15 days later lol) I got the Thai tea with "less pearl boba"...that was a mistake...I thought less would be good...nope sticking to extra boba going forward! I ran out of boba before I was half way thru the drink. I got regular sweetness, but should've done 150% or something a tad bit sweeter (I dont like my drink overwhelmingly sweet, but this felt like I almost got a 50%...though I did request regular) all in all I do like this place. I really hope to try their macarons at some point but theyre always sold out when I go in. Order process is super simple on their little kiosk, add your number stand outside and you get a text when your order is ready...very minimal contact plus hand sanitizer at your disposal. read more

I do not like boba tea. I think it's way too sweet. Having said that I somehow really enjoy bubble university. I got their earl grey milk tea and I was able to customize it and I would love to try more drinks on their menu. It was clean inside and the workers were friendly and efficient. Nice find in Sacramento. My daughters and I can't go for very long without a boba fix. We were visiting family for a few days and the craving needed to be fulfilled, there was another spot we had previously Yelped... drove there only to find it closed, possibly bc it was Christmas Eve. So we hit the next closest place which happened to be Bubble University. Cute place, you walk up and enter everything on an iPad affixed to a station... no interaction with anyone until they call your drinks ready. We all got fruit smoothies and everyone was satisfied. Their cups and logo are super cute. Lots of ample parking, as there is in most places up there bc more often than not it will be located in some sort of strip mall. read more

I had very high expectations of this place, but was left disappointed my first visit. Ordered a thai tea fresh milk and it was nothing like what I've ever had before anywhere else. Simply nothing what I expected and only ended up drinking 1/4 of it because I clearly didn't care for the flavors. Boba was ok however and I do appreciate them using fresh organic milk. However the cashier asked me if organic milk was okay, which was kind of questionable. Like, what's your alternative? Non-organic milk? Anyway, the place itself is super cute with a rustic touch, not much seating but enough for a few parties. I might return only to see If they have other drinks that better suit my taste despite thai tea being one of my top 5 drinks. Also, I wish they'd look into more ecofriendly cup choices. Excellent boba. We were recommended to come here by our KBBQ waiter who told us to order the creamy milk and that did not disappoint! However, I am here to write the review on the branding. I would expect Bubble University to be more you know, campus themed. Was not expecting a wizard, which is cool. Do wizards go to universities? I'm very confused. Visiting a friend in the area, she took us to this super cute boba shop. Owner was very helpful in describing drinks. I tried the special burn tea, but didn't caramelize the top so I could get an adorable Pikachu on the top. Also tried the yummy golden honey boba that she ships special from their store in LA. Do you know how many times I've walked into a bubble tea restaurant and the menus on a tv screen behind the counter? What about the blind? More specifically me, but then that's a little selfish because I should start bringing my glasses. Lol. Soft opening it says in front of this establishment and what brought me in today was the amazing photos posted on Bubble University's Yelp page. I walked in and felt a little overwhelmed because the establishment is small. There are places to sit but because the seats were taken there were a few people standing. I wanted to order a simple organic green tea with sea salt but I thought maybe that's a little too basic since I saw so many photos of the matcha tea. Instead I ordered a Luna matcha ice tea with golden boba. The wait took me a whole section of Rupi Kaur's book Milk and Honey, The Loving section before my order was up. I do understand it is a soft opening so I was glad I had my book in hand because there was a whole lot of people waiting on their drinks. The Luna Matcha Tea had two kinds of tea with sea salt at the top. It looked like three layers of color. The bottom tea tasted like green tea, matcha in the middle and sea salt. The golden boba was sweet and soft. Matcha was a little bitter and had a grainy texture but I'm hoping that's normal. I' don't drink matcha too often. The drink was not bad. For those who love matcha this is for you. Overall I like the look of Bubble University, the drink options that I will definitely try again, the patience and helpfulness of the employee despite the wait. I'm hoping with time it won't take too much time to make the drinks. Also I don't remember seeing any food options except macaron options. read more

Im a sucker for milk teas and coffee and was drawn to come try this new spot out since I saw tiramisu iced coffee on their menu. After getting a breakdown of all their specialty drinks I ended up changing my drink to the Alice in wonderland which was a strawberry tea with strawberry bits topped with salted cream. Temps in the triple digits that day lured me to change to a fruit tea instead. It was delicious and refreshing. I added boba and love how theirs is prepared. Soft, chewy, and perfectly sweetened. My 3 year old has mommy's taste and loves milk teas and his green milk tea was delicious. Really good quality tea and perfect amount of sweetness when adjusting to 75%. My husband got the burn burn pineapple which he enjoyed. I think there was too much chunks of pineapple in it tho it was a little hard to enjoy it as a drink. My daughter loved her strawberry banana smoothie. Prices for drinks here are a bit on the pricier side, but the quality of the drinks makes it worth paying.
