    Menu 5/3/25

Check the SnackPass app for their menu.. almost all of the menu pics are outdated so I came hoping to try items that they no longer have (super disappointing). Also, no cute cups.. cups didn't even have a logo, just order sticker. Order through the kiosk. So dumb that it defaults to add tip..for what?! No one helped me; not even sure the one worker would've been able to help me, since she appeared to be the only one working. I think they should have more than one person working/making drinks on a Saturday afternoon. I think I waited around 10 min, which isn't bad for someone working alone with 5 drinks ahead of mine but if it were really busy, I'd feel bad for both the worker and customers. Strawberry smoothie: kinda tasted like tart strawberry ice cream. I opted for regular (100%) sweetness, but would probably get it at extra sweet/125% next time. Peach oolong tea w/boba: I got it regular sweetness (100%) and really enjoyed it. Perfectly refreshing. Boba is that smaller, like medium-sized boba. It's not the regular large size, but not mini size either. I do prefer the larger sized boba because they're chewier, so I don't find these smaller sized ones as satisfying. Cooked well, though. While I enjoyed my drink, I would not drive out of my way to come here again. Current options aren't that unique. There are plenty of other boba places, so I'd only come back if I happened to be in the area and they had a good deal going on. Note: they also sell things like labubu (currently sold out), mofusand, smiski, etc.

I was in the area for a haircut and this was in the same shopping center so gave it a try. I ordered a coconut pineapple smoothie and it was refreshing. Strong coconut and pineapple flavor. I got 25% sweet and it was probably too sweet. Next time I'll get 0%. Definitely recommend. 10/10.

Anytime I'm in the area, I try to stop by this place. Their boba is some of the best in the sac area & they have a really clean seating area with lots of cute decor. I got the Taro Blush that comes with strawberry jam at the bottom and added strawberry popping boba and the mini pearls for an additional $.75 each. The staff was really patient in answering my questions and adjusting the drink as needed. The only reason I'm not giving a 5th star is because the cap of the drink leaked all over my clothes and car while drinking it (pictured) I would still come here again with lots of napkins just in case. Also I loved their gotcha machines! Very cute touch

The place is super cute. I appreciate their seasonal decor. It feels like a new experience every time so it's never boring. Also just found out this place is dog friendly which is a plus! The employees are rather quiet and do their own thing. Would be nice if I was welcomed every now and then. Drinks are always consistent and very delicious. My favorite is the passion fruit tea with strawberry popping boba and lychee jelly.

I've tried bubble tea from many places, but I think I finally found the one I really like--Bubble Tea University is officially my favorite! I've ordered their Mango Swirl twice already, and it's absolutely delicious. I even had one again last night because I couldn't resist. The shop itself is really nice, with clean furniture and a welcoming vibe. It's quiet and relaxing, making it a great spot to hang out with friends and family--or even a perfect place for a casual date.

So a computer takes my order, and a computer wants a tip? You have got to be kidding me

January 2025. It's very sad nowadays, there's so many boba tea cafe nowadays, but they all run the same playbook! Step one, have a computer serve your order. Step 2, charge extra for anything additional you can think of. Step 3, minimize staff. This place is terrible, there was only 1 person working on a Sunday, someone said hi welcome in but they were behind a wall, so I was confused. If you are going to welcome me, like at least make sure I can see you. No one took my order, I ordered off a computer screen. It was SUPER confusing, there was like 20 different options for boba, and I literally just wanted normal boba, and I guess the normal boba is "pearls." But it's not like I can ask that computer screen any questions. Before I checked out, it had auto tip at 15%!! That is so ridiculous, first off the order was so confusing. You only have one person working, maybe if they took my order I would give them a tip. But PSA tips are a scam nowadays, they don't even go to the workers, the tips go to the owners too who aren't even working. And yea the boba drink when I received it was not even sealed, you have to shake your boba drink that's boba 101, and part of the drink spilled so that was not great. Terrible... I'm going to try to find a boba cafe that is not like the rest maybe one with a real human that will take your order.

    Love the cups!!

Good boba spot in Roseville. Order from the kiosk. My taro was very sweet and the boba was good. They have non dairy milks. I like the cups! Cutely decorated inside!

My 5-year-old wanted boba and I remembered this place was in the area we were in at the time. We went in expecting to order at the counter, but we were directed to an electronic kiosk to place and pay for the order. The kiosk is not that user friendly for first timers who are not tech gurus. You kind of need to know what you want and where to look.... I ended up ordering an item that was kind of what I intended on, but it was more expensive because it was organic. The kiosk automatically adds a 20% tip for what turns out to be no service at all. You actually have to catch it and manually remove or change it, if you wish to. Having been a food server, a million years ago, I always tip for service; usually in the 25% range, but if I don't have human interaction I'm not prone to tipping. I tasted my son's brown sugar boba, it was good, but the experience and the overall vibe was not great. It's a small place with chairs that tower above the very short tables in the tiny wizard decorated sitting area. I doubt that I'll be back, but I've learned to never say never!

Banana smoothie, strawberry jelly popping boba.

Just visited this today, I've never had boba before so I asked a clarifying question and the staff was really rude, I also heard them laughing after :( I stood over by the counter while waiting for my drink and she snapped at me asking what I was waiting for. There were 2 young girls one that was pretty (the nice one) and one that was pretty rough (the mean one). The date is 1/11 and the time is 3:24. If the owner is reading this please check the staff list and have a conversation with her. Never is it okay to make a customer feel like they are inferior or unwanted. Pretty good banana smoothie though. And for what it's worth the place is decorated nice and love the color changing thermal straws, however, that young lady was so rude that I will not be returning.

Do you see any sea salt cream?

I've finally tried BU again after a long time, and they failed me again 2x. Paid for salted cream but never got it. It's not cheap neither. Not happy at all. That was the reason why I go to BU.

    Melon Blizzard $5.95; March 2023
    Laura T.

Ordering is only with the self serve kiosk, and card only payments. If you approach the counter the staff will direct you to the self serve kiosk. They appeared quite rude and a bit standoffish as well. Wasn't able to ask the employees about certain options for the drinks or inquire about any other aspect for ordering. The interior is very cute and clean, with plenty of seating for you to enjoy your treats inside if you desire. I ordered the Melon Blizzard which was $5.95 for only one size available. It was average! Most melon smoothies have an artificial melon flavoring but this one was quite tasted a bit watery and didn't leave that strange fake aftertaste like how some other boba places make their melon snow smoothies. Quite disappointed overall.

Best matcha is from Offbeat coffee in sac, but the double at Gu Ca Phe is just as good and has its own unique charm. Worth the price, worth the drive! Amazing. If I got it with normal sweetness, I don't think I'd love it as much. Long version: Cute little spot in an unsuspecting location. I don't live in Roseville but was here for an appointment so I stopped by since this place has been on my list. After trying dozens of matchas in Sacramento and surrounding areas, this one definitely rivals the top spot. It's a small location and the service was nice and pretty standard. They also have a kiosk so you can take extra time to scroll through the menu with photos. Not a fan of the AI artwork throughout if I'm being honest but I know it's a sign of the times. And I'm glad their drinks actually do look pretty damn close to the photos unlike other businesses. I got the regular size double matcha, less sweet. If it was regular sweetness, I don't think I'd like it as much. The matcha is good quality, seems like it was freshly handwhisked but not sure. It is strong without being astringent. The matcha cream is amazing and strong as well. You def have to love matcha to enjoy this one. It's going to be stronger than something you find at Starbucks of course. I love matcha to hit me in the face so this drink was perfect. They have the good ice, too ! A similar matcha I've tried, and is my personal #1 across dozens I've tried, is from Offbeat Coffee (x2 matcha). Gu Ca Phe has finessed something similar and I honestly feel like it would be worth the drive from West Sac to Roseville just for Gu Ca Phe's double matcha. I want to try their other drinks. The sugar croiffle was delicious, too!

The interior is small but clean and brightly lit. The coffee is good but weaker than I expect when getting Vietnamese coffee. It is phin dripped, and the classic flavor is there, but less creamy texture. Traditionally the brew is very strong and mixed with condensed milk only - the ice in this instance is necessary to balance the boldness. In this coffee, between the added milk and large amount of ice, it is watered down and not the full bodied experience you would expect. Overall still a good cup, and probably the best you can get in the immediate area, but not wholly satisfying if you are seeking the traditional Vietnamese coffee flavor.
