I'm going to give this restaurant 5-stars because of the variety of sashimi, nigiri and the soft shell crab appetizer. What attracted me to come to Sake was that it's AYCE but you order want you want and however many pieces of whatever's on the AYCE menu. None of that mess people create on the buffet and no worries about how clean the other people's hands are when they touch the serving spoons/tongs. This restaurant was the same location for that promising Mexican restaurant just before COVID hit and was thus, forced to close. The inside was not too big, it was just the right size. Nothing fancy but I didn't go there for the fancy. I was there for the sushi and deep fried soft shell crab. The soft shell crab was crispy, just a little bit too done but had a nice crunch and the serving size was perfect. The sashimi were sliced in a variety of thinness/thickness, I guess depending on the fish. The sake/salmon was thick enough but the rest were not so much. But, it's AYCE so just double the order for each fish and you'll satisfy that sashimi cravings you've been having since last weekend. Also, surprise, surprise. They also have amaebi. One of my favorite nigiris. Sadly, the deep fried head didn't come with it only for us to find out that we had to specifically ask for it. I understand because many don't want to try the head, so food waste is minimal. To the service and staff I go. They came by our table asking if we would like to order some more. Albeit not too busy, maybe 10 tables at the same time we were there, but it's nice that they approach you not for the purpose of rushing you but to make sure you've had your fill of your favorite nigiri/sashimi/maki and the variety of rolls. My husband and I had an amazing experience at Sake in Roseville. The all you can eat dinner is absolutely worth it for the quality and variety you get. Everything came out fresh, beautifully plated, and full of flavor. The ambience is beautiful there. The sashimi was a standout, especially the salmon belly. It literally melts in your mouth and is easily some of the best we have had. The salmon, tuna, and yellowtail were all incredibly fresh and high quality. What really made this experience unforgettable was our server. She was one of the sweetest and most attentive people we have ever had. We asked her to surprise us and pick rolls for us, and she kept bringing out amazing choices that we would not have ordered ourselves. Every single one was a hit. Her customer service alone is a reason to come back. She truly made the night special. A sashimi elite is someone who is so particular and so picky, that they have a hard time finding sushi restaurants to be able to eat at. Not to brag, but I have eaten at some of the finest omakases and kaisekis all across Asia from Japan to Taiwan, Korea and China. SAKE is definitely nowhere near that but...it's still in the sushi restaurant conversation. Let's just make that VERY clear. However, since they are an AYCE, All You Can Eat (which Roseville folks LOVE - bang4dabuck) and with their fish quality being superb; how can we NOT praise them for their excellence and for delivering an AYCE Sushi/Sashimi experience at such a high quality level? TLDR: 5 star food, 3 star service. Would maybe come back again, but at least if I did I know I would love the food--which is the most important part. In more detail: Everything we ate was delicious, fresh tasting, and well made. Loved the options, like the pepperfin and all the nigiri. If you like sashimi this is the AYCE place to come. The service was very disorganized. All the waiters helped us order at different times, so often one would come up to take our order but we were just waiting on food we had ordered with someone else. Multiple times a waitress tried to give us someone else's order. Some communication errors happened because we got a plate with the nigiri we ordered but one substitute for something we didn't order, and we ordered two rolls but never got one of them. We also had something happen that has never happened to us before--they filled our drinks when they were half full and switched our drinks so we both had a 50/50 mix of Dr. Pepper and Root Beer. Most of this made us chuckle but it was pretty crazy how disorganized they were. Also everyone was very nice, and our empty plates were cleared quickly, and they always were quick to come to our table to place more orders when we looked finished. The quality of the food here isn't quite as good as that of another AYCE sushi spot I go to, but the staff is super friendly, and the restaurant is very spacious. Also, the price of $40 per person is the best I've seen, so I'm definitely coming back here if I am unable to visit my usual spot. Only a handful of tables, so it took absolutely no time to get seated. The staff was eager to take our order, and it seemed that the staff assisted each other in serving all tables, given that three or four servers visited us throughout the course of our dinner. This approach to service was refreshing, since it felt like we were always being tended to. The menu is only two pages, which I prefer since more options make it harder for me to decide what to order. We started with sashimi so we wouldn't get full too fast. The first thing I noticed is that the pieces were swimming in sauce. While the sauce was very flavorful, I think it would've been better to have the sauce on the side for dipping, but that's just a small personal preference. I particularly liked the salmon lover since I rarely see pieces of mango used in sashimi dishes. I loved the presentation of the hand rolls and how easy they were to grab, given the shape of the wood. Make sure to bite all the way through, or you might drag everything out of the seaweed! We got a couple of kitchen items, like chicken katsu and teriyaki shrimp. They come in small portions, so that made it easier to bounce around the menu without worrying about filling up on hot foods. Friends highly recommended Sake, so my friend and I decided to give it a try. First, we were blown away by the $39.99/person price for all-you-can eat from their entire menu, except for beverages. Since the sushi rolls were backed up, our server recommended we order appetizers, so we ordered tempura shrimp, lemon pepper fried chicken wings, and soft shell crab. One bite of a chicken wing and the flavor exploded in our mouths! The batter is out of this world, and it was like the crunch I hear and see on fried chicken commercials! It's was so gratifying that if I didn't keep in mind the rolls we were waiting for, I would've ordered another round of wings and tried their other seasoning, like Cajun! The rolls were beautifully made and were a good sized portion! I especially enjoyed the Pacific Roll because of the sweet mango. We knew better not to drink a lot of water to make this dining experience bang for buck and really enjoy the number of items we ordered, which also included tempura shrimp and miso soup. When our soft shell crab appetizer arrived, we were shocked to see the size, since we are used to the crab being smaller at other Japanese restaurants where we dine. Needless to see, because of its size, every bite was scrumptious and I kept dipping every piece in the sauce before taking a bite. We squeezed lemon onto it, which made it that much more delightful. To balance out my feast, I ordered a house salad with ginger dressing. Wow, how sweet and pleasing that salad was, and it was the perfect size, considering the rolls and salmon hand roll I had already eaten! Our servers were quick to check on us and ask how we were doing and ask if we wanted to order more. We especially appreciated how one of the servers said, after we asked how many cream cheese with a come in one serving, he could ask the cooks to just fry two cream cheese wontons instead of the usual four pieces they serve, because he understood my concern about all we had eaten already and did not want to waste and be charged for uneaten food. The restaurant is decorated with such beautiful paintings and very intricate, eye-catching, detailed decor displays. The noise was just right, which is due to the large size of this restaurant, so the noise is spaced out. The only reason for my four stars is I wish they had a variety of desserts! I'm used to other sushi buffet restaurants that serve a variety of desserts, like fried donuts. The ice cream they serve, we did enjoy. We had a wonderful dinner at Sake! We came on a Wednesday evening shortly after opening and there was plenty of seating available. The AYCE menu was pretty extensive, a good amount of appetizers and sushi. We especially loved that there was sashimi! Not many AYCE places still offer sashimi. There were so ordering limit so ordered a ton of stuff upfront. We tried so many things! Our favorites were the salmon lover and rainbow sashimi, and the handrolls. The sashimi pieces were decent size. I will say most of the special sashimi had the same pepper and sauces on it. But they were all delicious. Food tasted pretty fresh and prepared well. We have been to this restaurant 6 times since they opened, twice for lunch and four times for dinner or on the weekend. The staff are always very welcoming, and we haven't had to wait for a seat which is a plus! The dining room is a good size with plenty of booths, tables, and a few half booths. It's kept clean, and dirty dishes are taken care of promptly. I've never had to wait more than a few minutes for a drink refill either. Now on to the food! Their prices are straightforward. $25.99 for lunch which doesn't include AYCE sashimi. It's a great choice if you are in the mood for rolls, nigiri, and other stuff. I was super impressed at how fresh everything tasted and the quality of each dish- service was really kind-they recommended us getting the hamachi at the end and it did not disappoint-im not sure if its a special thing that isn't on the menu yet as they also kindly gave us an otoro to try for free that wasnt yet on the menu either. But if you are able to get them when they are available you should definitely try! When we asked about ordering sushi without doing the all-you-can-eat option, she seemed annoyed and tossed a second menu down as well. My friend sent me photos of their dinner at Sake that were presented beautifully. I was shocked to hear that it was AYCE for only $40, what a steal! Maybe because I came here during prime dinner time on a Saturday, but the service, in terms of organization and knowledge needs much improvement. When asking for the same thing, the waiters and waitresses had different responses. Asked for bluefin tuna and was told there wasn't any, but ended up getting some anyways. I also asked if they could make an unagi avocado handroll and was told no, cause the chef was too busy and another waiter put my order in. The sashimi pieces were fat and fresh, but nothing else really stood out. The presentation was also pretty meh compared to what I saw in my friend's photo. The salmon and bluefin tuna made it worth for us, even though we couldn't get a third order in because of the slow service. My parents really liked the Kani salad though, it was refreshing, like a mix of imitation crab, cucumber and mayo. The black tobiko tasted off, don't get it. When ordering, I suggest putting a big first order in because theres no item limit ...yet. Took awhile, but everything came out at the same time, hot or cold items. Tables were getting 1-2 items at time and some tables still didn't get their order after sitting for over half an hour. Yes.... I had a lot of time in between to observe. I was there for two hours and only got two orders in. I was content, not full. There was a 90 minute limit and they didn't kick us out or anything, but I didn't want to wait another hour or so. I had to flag down someone to get the check as well. The timing does need improvement, because there was a lot of angry customers and the restaurant wasn't even full. The absolute BEST All-You-Can-Eat sushi in Roseville! I've been to a lot of AYCE sushi spots during my travels, and usually, you have to choose between quantity and quality. Most AYCE places stuff the rolls with rice to fill you up fast. Sake Sushi doesn't play those games. The fish cuts are generous, and the rice portions are perfect. The Menu: Massive variety. We ordered a mix of Nigiri, specialty rolls, and kitchen appetizers (the tempura was hot and crispy!). Everything came out looking beautiful. Standout on the menu is the Roseville roll. Nice crunch and our kids loved it as well. For the littles, the Maki rolls are great. Both our boys ate 2 each (12 pieces). The Service: crazy fast and supportfriendly. Our server kept the rounds coming quickly and checked on us often. It was such a special moment they they played birthday music overhead for our son! Came to Sake on a Sunday at opening. Nice ambience inside. Servers were attentive and kind. Came specifically to try the many sashimi wrapped around veggies because the pictures looked so good. It was ok, a bit too much red pepper flakes. We tried a nice variety of items, favorites were the fried rice and fried fish. Tempura veggies were ok, but my picky son approved of the shrimp tempura. I saw the great reviews and decided to try this place out. It did not disappoint. A little pricier than other local AYCE sushi spots, but worth it for a few reasons: 1- Fast and attentive service. After placing our initial order, we were enjoying our miso soup in about two minutes. The rest of the food came out before I could finish my soup. 2- The minimal amount of rice used. The nigiri had about a grape-sized ball under the fish, and I don't think the rolls could have used any less rice and stayed together. I've gone to several AYCE sushi restaurants and I thought I had a favorite place, but after visiting Sake I have a new winner. This place hits all the boxes. Reasonably priced, fresh sashimi and nigiri, great service, and lots of seating available indoors. Most AYCE sushi restaurants only offer nigiri on the menu, but this place also does sashimi. I was extremely surprised and excited when the waiter brought out a beautiful array of all the sashimi I had ordered. I also really liked that the hand rolls were not actually rolled, but instead served in a taco-like manner. Ordered online and food wasn't ready until about 15-20 mins after quoted time. Going in, it looked clean and spacious. A lot of employees sitting around as it wasn't busy. Food was decent, hopefully if I ever have time, I'd like to try and eat in store. read more

I brought my family here on a weekday to try their AYCE lunch menu. The interior was very spacious and clean. My wife and I didn't have any expectations but we were quite suprised by the quality of fish here. There is no sashimi offering but the fish to rice ratio was perfect in my opinion on both nigiri and sushi rolls. Since we were the first one in, we had service all to ourselves for the most part so the food came out quick. Went here cause the its sushi line was 1.5+ hr and this place was 3 mins down the street. The experience was simply better than its sushi (zero wait, more available servers, faster food, less people, brighter ambiance, chill music, spread out seating). There's only one $40 AYCE option that includes nigiri and sashimi, equivalent to its sushi B menu. Everything was decently sized and no order limit. Sushi tasted really good and looked wonderful. Fresh, not fishy, good seasoning and sauce. The chef even gave us a complimentary bluefin toro dish that was amazing and wasn't even on the menu. Lwk glazing but it's simply a solid ayce spot. Don't be a dummy standing outside it's sushi for over an hour and just go here! they're new and deserve to be known :) read more

Great service, very attentive. Restaurant was clean and spacious, didn't feel like you were sitting in a strangers lap like at some restaurants that squeeze in tables. Tried many items on the all you can eat menu. Everything was great, freshly made, very tasty. Will definitely be going back! read more

First time here and been waiting for this Ayce sushi restaurant to open. Price is $26 for lunch. So worth it! Everything was made to order. Service and food was both excellent. Nice decorations inside Definitely will be back. read more
