I love Gu Coffee & Tea! If it wasn't so far from where I live, I'd be here everyday! Although I'm here almost everyday! LOL! Except for the last two weeks since I was on a mission to save $$$. Gu is not cheap, it's pricey but I find it worth the money because it's that good! Anyways, there must have been a change of staff since I haven't seen my usual people for my last two orders. The avocado coffee was sweeter than their usual, I like my coffee strong. Vietnamese coffee-strong. I feel like they added too much condensed milk on their coffee, and I don't want to have that same experience for the 3rd time. I might take a break again from Gu and hopefully the usual baristas will be back soon. Ambience inside is always nice, although the newer baristas should be a little more welcoming as well. read more

I highly recommend ordering online and picking up. It is wayyyyyyyyy faster. I still had to wait for everyone in line to be helper, but at least my drink was ready. The Tiramisu Kafe was delish per usual. Ang the slice of tiramisu cake on top really makes the drink!!!! read more

Gu Coffee & Tea is located in the same plaza with Tang's Sushi on Blue Oaks Blvd in Roseville. The Egg Coffee is a sweet and creamy treat. A bit pricey, but a worthwhile drink. For a Hot Egg Coffee filled to the top, you need to pay a $1.50 upgrade to large size. Still not quite filled up to the brim of a typical grande sized cup. Coffee ends up over $9 if you pay with a credit card. I had read reviews complaining about too much ice and not enough coffee, so I figured ordering hot was the way to go. I prefer hot anyway. Service was pretty fast. I beat the influx, but they all left shortly after me. My drink likely required more prep time since most people order iced drinks. I am curious about the Sesame Coffee, Marble Coffee, and Banh Mi. Customers after me seemed to be ordering Matcha. All the coffees, except Coconut Coffee and Avocado Coffee, can be ordered hot. Gu is perfect for when you need a caffeine boost! They specialize in Vietnamese style coffees that are typically sweetened with condensed milk & other flavorings! I love the fact that you can order the standard Viet coffee, but they also offer renditions that are also so good! For 4 drinks, I spend about $30 but the quality was top tier. I stopped by here on a Saturday afternoon. There were several people waiting for their food. We ordered two sandwiches and a black sesame drink. We had to wait 28 minutes for our food. I don't know if it normally takes this long. The sandwich was good and the box presentation is nice. I had the black sesame drink, which was delicious. Came here since we had an appointment nearby and saw that it was highly rated. Upon entering there was only one employee up front and 5 deep in line. Cashier didn't seem very engaging with customers. Facility was clean, but that was the highlight of my visit. We ordered the matcha coffee, iced matcha latte and the lychee tea. We all requested light on the ice, but our request went on deaf ears. My lychee tea had half a cup of ice after I sipped the last drop of tea. Tea to syrup ratio was good, and the whole lychees I was looking that was supposed to be on top according to the picture was at the very bottom. And there was no slice of lime as shown in the photo as well. Sipping the tea was difficult, as every sip sucked up the miniature ice. Sentiments were the same from my wife who had the iced matcha latte. Matcha coffee was strong and flavorful though. Listen to the majority Gu ownership...ease up on the ice! read more

Cute little spot nestled between a nail salon and Subway. No indoor dining as the space is too small. I ordered the Double Matcha and the Matcha Croffle. I didn't know what a Croffle was. I guess it's a mix between a croissant and a waffle. They covered it in whipped cream and matcha syrup. It was a bit on the sweet side. Had to wipe off more than half of the topping. It's pretty small but with it being super dense and sweet, that's all I could handle. I'd probably order it again but as a different flavor when I'm feeling in the mood for a dessert. The Double Matcha was tasty and left me super energized. Price was a bit expensive. Spent $15 on these 2 items. The Bahn Mi sandwiches looked pretty good. There are a number of good vegetables but the pork is a bit tough. I'd get coffee but there's no decaf option. They are selling most customers Matcha. The costumer service is very good. read more

Vietnamese coffee is my favorite type of coffee and I was excited to see there was Gu Coffee & Tea while I was in Roseville! Came around noon on Saturday and it was not busy at all. A very small, but cute little shop. Loved how they had the self pay option because my boyfriend and I went in without knowing what we wanted, so it was nice to be able to view the menu with pictures. Your girl loves sesame and it was the perfect opportunity for me to try the sesame coffee. If there's a specialty drink that has sea salt cream, that's my boyfriend's go to, so he got the sea salt coffee. The lady that made the drinks was super quick and our drinks came out shortly. I loved my coffee, perfect combo of rich and nutty and strong brew. It's not the strongest Vietnamese coffee I've had in sac, but this was a good in between. The sea salt was also very good. Loved that you could taste the salt in the cream, but it wasn't overpowering. It mixed well into the coffee. I would definitely recommend and come back again if I'm in Roseville. The matcha also looks very promising, so I'm excited to try that next time. Might have to get two drinks for myself! read more

This is a very small specialty Vietnamese coffee shop similar to Tram Coffee. It has limited seatings, with 2 small benches and a very small table. Very tight. Pretty much waited outside for our drinksnas the line got longer. Can't imagine if when the weather is raining or hot where people would have to wait for their drinks. They have a small case of pastries that were croissants and danish. Their menu is small and as always, I was drawn to their tiramisu kafe as I love tiramisu. My husband and I ordered the following: 1. Tiramisu kafe: a beautiful presentation for a crafted cup of Vietnamese ca phe. It comes with a small piece of tiramisu but I am not sure why a spoon was not given. I used the straw to scoop a piece of the cake up to try it but it wasn't easy. The tiramisu has a thick cream on top and the cake part was a little mushy after having sunk in the coffee, however, it's not too sweet. The coffee is not as strong and the sweet level is just right but creamy. Not too sweet for not having to adjust the sweet level. Overall, the drink is like a dessert in a cup. 2. Egg kafe: Hubby agreed with the coffee not being strong. Cream is light and flavorfu. He says for the drink as a whole the coffee is good. read more

Stopped in this morning to try this place out. I wasnt sure what to order and didnt see any explanations of the coffees - I looked online and in the store. When I first arrived a lady was sitting waiting for her order and no one was at the counter so I thought you order on their kisosk -- i started looking through the kiosk when a guy came out from back with her food and drink -- she left and he said he could help me. So I told him my order -- i tried the taro coffee..... I'd say it was okay -- its too sweet for me and tasted more like chocolate than coffeee... I was on the way to the galleria when I stumbled upon this place on yelp and decided to give it a try. Looking at the menu online has me hopeful as the menu wasn't too big but enough to have something for everyone. We got the jasmine oolong milk tea, strawberry matcha, and sea salt coffee. Upon initial tasting, the jasmine oolong milk tea just tasted like straight up honey syrup in water, the iced sea salt coffee was okay but it was lacking the hazelnut flavor, and lastly the strawberry matcha was just an average matcha latte with a strong presence of strawberry jam. I was excited to try their coffee. It's a cute little shop. When I came in no one was up front so I waited a bit. Got their large egg coffee. Over $9 for a large which is a steep price considering the cup size and taste. The coffee alone was good but the egg topping was very sweet. So sweet after mixing it with the coffee that I had to go home and add a shot of espresso to it. I've never had egg coffee this sweet before and the egg cream wasn't thick like the other places. We're heading home to San Jose and looking for coffee, so that means we're looking for a local (as far as we know) coffee shop! My husband found Gu and we headed that way. It's a Vietnamese coffee shop and super cute. It's in a small shopping center and surround by other possibly medical or office buildings. The inside of the shop is more minimalistic, but very festive with their decor. Someone came out from the back within a minute which gave us time to look at the menu and asked if we were reading to order. I immediately knew I wanted to try the egg coffee because I LOVE egg coffee in San Jose. My husband decided to ask what she recommended and she said egg coffee LOL The egg coffee has a good coffee flavor and is creamy. I really like it! I have been coming in every couple of weeks to get my vietnamese coffee fix and its been a little disappointing. It keeps getting sweeter and sweeter eventhough I order LESS sweet. Its not as strong as the vietnamese coffee in sac and elk grove, tastes really different actually. As a vietnamese person, when I order vietnamese coffee, I expect a strong punch in your face vietnamese coffee. I wanted to come back and try again thinking it'll get better, it has not! The coffee here was so delicious. I was so excited that they have salted vietnamese coffee. The salted coffee was comparable to vietnam's salted coffee. There was have varieties of drinks to choose from and also offer vietnamese sandwiches. The service was good and the ambiance was just like a regular to go coffee shop . I had been hearing great things about GU, and since I was in the area, I decided to stop by and give it a try. There were so many tempting options, but I ultimately chose the matcha coffee. I upsized it to a large for an additional $1.50, with regular ice, sweetness, and milk. The drink was really good, and they clearly use high-quality matcha, though it was a bit sweeter than I prefer. I got the sesame coffee, less sweet and it was really yummy, I liked how much foam they gave and it wasn't too sweet overall. The black sesame foam was really nice. Service was fast and friendly. My only qualm is that there was sooo much ice. I usually can sip on my coffee for a bit but it felt like after a few sips the coffee was already gone and the foam coats all the ice. The place is simple and cute. I looked on Yelp and found this and boy Thank goodness it was not far from where I was staying. And it had both matcha and Vietnamese drinks. The plus is the customer service from a young lady. So polite and friendly. She took the time to explain the drinks. I ended up getting 3 drinks. The Ube, black sesame and matcha strawberry. The matcha was for my daughter. She said it was good, but her good means it was great. My two Vietnamese drinks were so delicious. I love Vietnamese coffee!! Which one was better? I'd say both were delicious. I would definitely come back and get the same drinks. Just an fyi majority of the drinks other than the matcha has the Vietnamese coffee in it. I was told my a family member to come check this place out as we are oolong tea fans. They have a jasmine oolong milk tea drink that I tried. I asked for half sweetness, which is my go-to but I feel that wasn't needed at this place. If I were to come back again, I probably wouldn't adjust the sweetness. I do like that they use pebble ice! If you're looking for good tasting egg coffee in Roseville, this is your place! The place is cute and small, not really a place to study or chill just a quick order in to-go type of coffee. There are benches inside but it gets packed so quick. I ordered the tiramisu latte I believe, super good coffee is great. I can't say enough wonderful things about this small cafe. The staff here are so kind and welcoming. I had their Saigon Kafe (regular sweetness) with the brown sugar boba and it was so good! my big back ass was torn between the marshmallow brûlée matcha and the tiramisu matcha, but I ended up getting the marshmallow one and it was so good! It wasn't too sweet!
