I called Bubbles Gutter Cleaning to obtain a quote and provided them the length, width, and height of the single family residense. Its basically a brick rectangle. Based on the quote provided over the phone I scheduled an appoitment. When the technician arrived, the price was jacked up, because I was told we have tall cielings. He told me he used a 28 ft ladder, I told the manager who provided the quote that the roof was 25-30 ft. The technician did not bring a garden hose, so he used mine to unclog the downspout. I watched him for a bit (had a toddler with me) , and I thought the downspot was going to become dislodged from the side of the house, due to jamming the hose up and down. After he was done, I noticed day light was shining through what appeared to be a hole where the downspot connects to the gutter. I had not noticed it before, and our home is only five years old. The first couple feet of my hose now is now all scratched up with huge gouges (the part you would always hold), the threads of the female end were sheared. I called and spoken with a representative, They told me a manager would call me that day or the following. Nobody called me, so I called back. They told there was nothing they could do about the surcharge added at the site but they would look at the hose. We set up a time. They cancelled the time and rescheduled. Nobody has repaired the garden hose or offered any compensation. By the way the garden hose was a high end hose. I also seen the bag of leaves that was taken out of the gutter (it was about enough to fill a couple of milk gallon bottles. Not many leaves. The downspot is no longer clogged. So that is a plus. But now I wonder if any damage was done to to downspot, and I have to go through the hassle of repairing my garden hose. There are many contractors in Chicago that perform this work, I believe that you can do better than Bubbles Gutter Cleaning, next time I have it done, I will add a update this review and let you know how it went. Also wanted to note the techician who cleaned the gutters was friendly, however, I was dissappointed with how they run the business. read more

In May, I hired Bubbles to power-wash my deck for $250. They completely damaged my deck by dragging their heavy equipment across the deck and down the stairs, and flaking off the finish in other areas. They even scratched my table by placing chairs on top of it, after I asked them to not move the furniture. The workers did not point out the damage to me before they left. I sent a respectful email to Bubbles with photos of the damage, twice. It took them TEN DAYS to respond -- despite in the meantime sending me two automatic emails about how much they care about customer service and feedback. When they did finally respond, they didn't apologize. They did offer to repair the damage by sanding it down, which I thought was nice, and fair. They wanted me to find the contractor. Later, however, they told me they are going to DEDUCT the $250 power-washing from the repair! As in, they are making ME PAY for the service where they damaged my deck and the inconvenience of having to find a contractor to repair it! If anyone has had their deck sanded down, they know it's a pain - must remove all the pots and furniture, remove and reinstall the automatic watering system via a professional, and can't use the deck for a while. Considering this inconvenience, I expected a free additional service, certainly not their intransigent insistance that I pay for their unprofessional service! I have been going back and forth with them about this all summer. I was pretty dumb to not want to fault them for this potential fluke and recently tried to get them out to wash my windows, but they keep bringing up the $250. Done!!! read more

Came out same day that I called for gutter cleaning. Arrived a bit later than they said they would (about 30 min), but did very fast work. Price was a bit higher than I would like ($215 for our 2.5 story house and detached garage), but I didn't take much time to shop around. About 18 months ago we purchased a typical Chicago bungalow, and it seems it had been 20 years since the windows had been washed. So last weekend we called Bubbles to come out to wash windows and clean our gutters. The only surprise was that only one person arrived for what I assumed was a two or three-person job. Even though it took him all day, his work was excellent, though, and he was pleasant and courteous. I wish I had trusted the other reviewers who had problems with this company for window cleaning. It was nearly impossible to schedule them. When we did and left work early to be there to meet them, they didn't show because "the team was stuck at another job." Then, when we rescheduled them for a first-of-the-day appointment to avoid that problem, they sent a team that didn't have ladders tall enough to reach our windows, which was something we confirmed (or so we thought) they could do. Can I give zero stars? Augh... I'll just start the beginning... 1. Appt was yesterday between 8-noon, so at noon I called to ask where they were and was told it would be another 1.5 hours. I couldn't wait around any longer! So I got first appt today, between 8 and 9. Fine. 2. After he cleaned the windows today it was MUCH dirtier than before he even came. So I had to scrub each window to get rid of dirty hand prints and smears. But the glass itself was spotless. I did gave to re-hang a curtain he took down... did he forget about it? Who knows. 3. I then noticed my feet sticking with every step... What the heck? So I went back and looked and in front of each window is black TAR! On my hardwood floors! He had tracked it everywhere and nothing j tried would get it up! So I called and she sent him back to clean it. Fine. Like I don't have anything else to do (my son missed swimming but I would rather get the tar taken care of at this point). Never mind that I had to CUT bits of the rug off because of the sticky tar. 4. Two sets (maybe more I don't even want to look!) of expensive velvet drapes are ruined because of the black tar. What gets that out? My dry-cleaning bill will cost more than the window cleaning I'm sure, if they can even get it out. Bottom line- DO NOT use this company. I spent more time cleaning up after the cleaners... No thank you! -I can show you pics of the curtains if you want. I wish I would have taken pics of the windows when he left (before I cleaned them), I couldn't believe he left them like that-filthy! read more

I booked Bubbles for an 8-12 arrival (first appointment) several weeks ago. I am a repeated customer. I started calling for an arrival time at 7:30 am - I work within walking distance of my home. They told me to expect the technicians by mid-morning. When no one arrived I called back and was told it would be "closer to noon". She claimed her phone and internet was down. I said I needed a precise response by 12:15. Another person called and said they would have to reschedule and blamed her colleague for giving me bad information. I cancelled. Then, at 12:20 a window washer finally showed up - alone - apparently with no communication from the schedulers. On every prior occasion two technicians came - one for onside and one for outside. They ultimately apologized and refunded the amount that was charged beyond what was originally discussed. It took multiple phone calls and formal complaints for this to occur. On Friday I got a phone call telling me when they were on their way, and another a little while later, indicating that it would have to be rescheduled, as my house was too tall for the ladder they brought. Fast forward 24 hours to Saturday, two guys (and several ladders) arrived, and left me with clean gutters (I had rows of small trees growing in each one!). They showed up on the dot at the beginning of the timeframe I was told to expect them, and finished 9 second-floor windows (outside only) and storms in two hours. Very neat, respectful and GOOD! Price was slightly higher than the phone quote, but I had miscounted the number of windows (french windows count for more), so no big deal.
