We tend to drop in on this Buca on Fridays at lunch when we want to celebrate a birthday, retirement, or even Galentine's Day (last year). At any given time, there could be 6-12 of us from work. The place has ample parking & it usually isn't crowded midday, during the work week. We always, always ask for Tina! We sat in Tina's section once & never went back. She treated us with such care, almost like motherly love. She's efficient & fast because she knows we're on our lunch break, so time is crucial. Drinks are brought quickly, food is brought out as soon as something is ready, she gets us boxes & the check before we even have to ask. This lady knows what it means to hustle - but the customer service is definitely not lost during all that hustle. The food is piping hot & cooked to perfection... they have a great lunch menu! Between the 8 of us who just went on Friday (7/17/26), we got chicken with pesto pasta, spicy chicken pasta & a spicy shrimp pasta. The lunch menu comes with a house or Caesar salad and garlic bread (so good!). Tina is a definite asset to Buca... She's so good to us & she's even fun to chat with! We have many choices for lunch and the Westminster in Garden Grove area, but she is part of the reason we go back to Buca. She makes it fun AND she takes excellent care of us... The atmosphere is super fun and very... Italian. The walls are covered in the most random, chaotic photos, and honestly, it somehow works. It has that "welcome to our family's house, now eat everything" kind of energy. Everything comes in shareable portions, and since we had a group of 6, we went with the Buca Big. We ordered the Caesar salad, garlic bread, spaghetti & meatballs, and lasagna. The Caesar salad came out first and was TO DIE FOR. Everyone loved it, and we demolished it pretty quickly. The garlic bread was also pretty good but I've definitely had better. We ordered it specifically for the pasta and by the time the pasta arrived, the bread had gotten cold. We were all a little bummed. Note to self: Next time, ask them to bring the garlic bread out with the pasta. And yes... I said next time, because there will absolutely be a next time. We were also really excited to see that they advertise a happy hour with food specials, especially since we were there during the listed happy hour hours. So imagine our disappointment when we were told that the happy hour food items weren't actually available at the happy hour prices. At that point, we were all a little confused and honestly, pretty annoyed. If the happy hour specials aren't being honored during the advertised happy hour, then what's the point of advertising them at the location? It definitely put a bit of a damper on the experience because we were genuinely looking forward to trying some of those deals. (main reason why I'm rating it 3 stars) My brother and I are die-hard spaghetti & meatballs fans, so we thought that would be the winner. NOPE. The lasagna stole the show. We somehow demolished that thing way faster than the spaghetti and meatballs. Every bite was cheesy, saucy, and ridiculously satisfying. Buca Di Beppo is the epitome of a family friendly Italian restaurant! This was my first time back in years and it hasn't changed since the last time I went. It definitely reminds me of my grandma's house with picture frames everywhere and even a photographer walking around taking group photos. I came for a friend's birthday (30 years young), and we ordered three pastas, a Caesar salad, and one sausage and mushroom pizza. The pizza was very thin, so I'd probably skip it next time, but the flavor was good. If you're looking for something more filling, I'd go with the spicy chicken rigatoni or the shrimp fra diavolo. read more

Made reservations here for my son's birthday with a couple of his friends. They accommodated a party of 13 which was nice. They place bigger party upstairs, the inside is very huge and it's a comfort feeling with decorations. The food had good deals, some of the entrees were decent nothing out of the ordinary. It was just hard because there was only one waiter working right when it opened on a Saturday so we had to wait around for him many times. Since he was working both upstairs and downstairs. The lemon butter sauce was the star for me, bright and buttery without being heavy, and it made everything taste fresh and comforting at the same time. Also, the bread... unreal. There's a clear reason this place is usually dead: charging $57.99 for a plate of pasta is ridiculous. First they brought the Caesars salad amazing good we enjoyed it. Then they brought the ravioli al pomodoro and the chicken Simone and the garlic bread. Definitely enough portions to feed 4 people - so price is fine. Garlic bread was very mid. We had to ask for marinara sauce on the side - which didn't have much flavor. I have always seen this restraunt off the freeway, so yesterday I wanted to try it for the first time scince I was craving Italian food. We reserved for 7:00 PM, they made us wait 40 minutes even though there was more than 20 seats available, and we reserved! So when we got seated we were excited because we saw the "$40 feeds 4 people deal" but it also took the waiter 20 minutes to even ask drinks! And when we asked for lasagna, the waiter told us no, What kind of Italian place doesn't have lasagna! So we just grabbed our stuff and left. Would not recommend this place. read more

Came here this past Saturday for my sons birthday. Our server was Hayden. He is by far an amazing server. The food portions were generous and a party of 12 was fed without breaking the bank. All of the other restaurants in the area wanted us to pay a deposit and host a private party with a group this big. Staff were all nice. The portions here are large. This place is just amazing. We stopped in for our Mothers Day lunch and had an amazing experience thanks to our server Tina. We arrived at our reserved time and were seated no more than 10 minutes later. The location itself is large, fun and festive. The over the top decor makes eating there quite immersive . After being seated Tina arrived and poured on the charm, along with the excellent service. She made food and drink suggestions right away and soon after we had a trio appetizer and a carafe of sangria. The appetizer consisted of shrimp, calamari and cheese. The flavors were better than I remembered. The shrimp had the perfect amount of Italian spicyness to it. The calamari was crispy and the mozzarella was stringy and very flavorful. I would have been happy just with these bites but we were just getting started. Soon came the cheese bread the lasagna and the raviolis. Ok they were all palate pleasers. The richness of the sauces was amazing and the cheesiness made it all even better. Because it was Mothers Day our table also received a large piece of chocolate cake. This was one of the best I've ever had. It was moist and sweet all at the same time. I did find that our server was attentive at the beginning at the dinner and taking our orders but somewhat disappeared afterwards. Everyone was friendly. We flagged down other wait staff walking by to get more water or anything else we needed a few times. Food was good. We like the chopped salad and spicy chicken rigatoni dish. We had a party of 15 and we were having issues with finding somewhere that could accommodate us. We made a reservation here and were so happy they were able to have us. From the moment we walked in the staff was WONDERFUL! Everyone we encountered at this location was amazing. They were very friendly and welcoming. I love the "family style" seating and serving. It just reminds me of home and the setting is very comfortable. We ordered plates to share with the whole table and everything was delicious. The Buca Big Frutti di Mare (seafood linguine) filled us to the brim and easily made enough for 2-3 more servings to go, and that's even with the big eaters in our group. Makes for some awesome pictures next to your head. Staff frequently checked in on us. It was one of our birthdays, and they'll give you a huge sundae on the house... technically the voucher expired a day ago, but the waiter consulted his manager, and he agreed to give us the colossal brownies. When we were preparing to leave, the staff gave us two coupons for $25 off orders of $50 (half-off basically)... sweet deal! Buca di Beppo is a higher quality Italian restaurant chain with both classic and specialty pastas done very well. My absolute favorite orders are the chicken carbonara and garlic bread. The chicken carbonara is one of my favorite pastas ever, super creamy and well balanced with the chicken, prosciutto, and peas. But you can't go wrong with any of the pastas offered in my opinion. The garlic bread is also a must try, just look at the picture! Perfectly toasted crunchy bread and mellow but strong garlic flavor. As the whole menu is family style, I recommend coming with a party of 4 or more to be able to order multiple dishes without having a ton of leftovers. The restaurant is super cozy even though it's two stories tall, with the brick walls covered in pictures and tons of booth seating. I used to go to Buca do Beppo a lot when they had numerous locations and loved the food, service and ambiance. So I was happy to see this one still in operation. Oh well, every items on the menu were family style for 3-4 people. It was just two of us and we could not finish a dish between two of us. So we ordered a pizza to split and it was probably the worst pizza I had from an Italian restaurant. Costco pizza would have been better. They will not make an individual size dish. On top of that a photographer hangs out and offers to take a photo then he tries to sell the photo back to you. read more
