What happened next was a fascinating display of customer loyalty. The regulars, with a little encouragement from Amanda, started skipping the songs I'd just paid for. It's a bold move, really. I get that the "asshole button" exists for a reason, but it's not usually the bartender's job to press it for sport. Honestly, I don't expect much from a dive bar. But I did expect the simple courtesy of having my music play after I paid for it. It's a small detail, sure, but it's a bit rude to not give your customers a fair shake, no matter who they are.
