He forgot to take an appetizer order from one of our tables. We had to request the rolls. When the food came out he couldn't tell the difference between a sirloin steak and a ribeye steak, so I was given the wrong plate. When I got the correct order the plate was full of steak juice, which had gotten all over my baked potato. The food was average. Nothing stood out.Do not order the Denali double cheeseburger. It has only 5 oz of meat on it for $7.99!!!!!! I think maybe the management needs to do a better job of training the servers. OH by the way our bill was $323.98. First time in a long time we get to go out to dinner with the whole family and to say it was disappointing is an under statement. It was a Wednesday night, not busy at all and the service was terrible. We received our apps before drinks and wouldn't have gotten them when we did if we didn't ask another server to get them. Ordering refills took forever and ordered another drink and it didn't come... ever. Appetizers were descent but the meals were not good. Burger was burnt beyond edible and other meals were like warm or just cold. Used to like the place but after this night we will probably not return. Super disappointed!! read more

Word of mouth traffic would suggest that Buckhead isn't a huge player in the arena of Cincinnati good eats which is okay with me...considering I know that this place has some of the best eats in town. For all of you non-Buckhead lovers, let me tell you what you're missing. Firstly, there are the cheese boulders also known as deep-fried balls of piping hot ooey-gooey super cheesy cheese... with marinara sauce for dipping. You haven't tasted euphoria until you've had these. I promise. But it doesn't stop there. There's the hearty chicken pot pie which comes with but flakey crust. It's home-style cooking done right. There's also the delicious steak salad which gives you more steak than greens (not gonna not!) with a balsamic vinaigrette. And of course, the bison burger which isn't too game-y. And yes, I've tried all these dishes. It's not like me to eat various things at the same restaurant but Buckhead has such an array of deliciously, affordable eats. Not to mention, there's an outside deck that overlooks the Ohio River! My suggestion is to check out this place for Sunday brunch on a nice day. You won't regret it! read more

So normally I don't write negative reviews, but I used to love going to Buckheads with my husband. After tonights experience, I'm just wondering what happened? My dinner was absolutely horrible. I ordered the Roast Beef with mashed potatoes and Mac and cheese. An order that I've had several times before at this restaurant. I ordered the Texas Toast on the side this time and realized it was definitely not Texas Toast. It was just 3 pieces of plain white bread that felt like they had been toasted for one minute. That's not Texas Toast... The meat tasted okay, except I had to scrape off so much of the sauce. I could've filled a cereal bowl with how much sauce was on the plate. Not to mention, it was slathered all over the mashed potatoes. I actually had to ask our waiter for different potatoes because they were so covered up with the sauce. I was pretty disappointed when he came back with what seemed like half a scoop of mashed potatoes. It was clearly a lot less than what normally comes with the meal. He even asked me to scrape the potatoes off my plate onto another plate to bring them back. I thought he was joking at first. I wound up getting the ridiculous amount of sauce that was on the plate onto my shirt because here I am transferring potatoes from plate to plate. The only decent part of the meal was the Mac and cheese. Unfortunately it didn't come out with my meal, so by the time I received it, it definitely wasn't hot. Extremely disappointed and waste of money, especially when I came home and had cereal for dinner afterwards. read more

what a great nite celebrating my husbands birthday, party of 7. sat in a corner booth...overlooking the river. greeters warmly welcomed us, & had a table set for our reservation. I asked if we could sit in a corner booth....manager said it may be a bit tight, but, it was up to us. we decided to sit at window corner booth, & it was excellent for our 2 grandsons. our server Kaitlyn was friendly, offering recommendations for apps., and helpful in our every request. Kaitlyn was perfect server for our big party. we were very happy with our entree pics, kids meals were perfect......ribs were tender & tasty. all meal were very good, and the rolls kept coming, they're the best, warmest rolls & cinnamon butter...we love them. we even brought our own birthday cake in, and Kaitlyn was very helpful in bringing us napkins, plates, and silver. thank you Kaitlyn for everything. our celebration nite was just perfect, thank you mr. manager, for taking care of your customers with welcoming kindness...my husband spoke with him on way out, & he was very nice, & we just felt very welcome. we'll be back....couldnt had a better nite enjoying great food with family, atmosphere was just fun....and the skyline & river are always a complete joy to view.......thanks again bulkhead mountain grill.....A+ :) read more

Every time I'm in Newport, I stop at this Buckhead Grille. If we're lucky we can be seated outdoors and enjoy live music! The salads and soups here are what makes us so great. Love the sweet tea and the little sword that holds the lemon! Quick service, I'll always return to here when I want something I'm confident in! read more

Went here on a busy Sunday afternoon. It was one of the first nice weekends of the year. They were pretty busy after the Heart Mini downtown. As I checked in, I said party of 3 and would like to so outside if possible (not a necessity). The hostess quoted 40 min wait. As we watched party after party seated in front of us I realized we were likely waiting longer for outdoor seating, which I understood. After an hour of waiting, I approached the hostess to figure out why we were twenty minutes over our quoted time. Before I got through my question, the hostess cut me off and scolded me that I had been told that they DO NOT quote times for outdoor seating. I was actually not told this and did not exclusively request outdoor seating. As I was standing up there, I did hear her say this to other patrons. However they didn't say it to me 60 min earlier. I then requested to be seated at the next available table, inside or outside, which they accommodated quickly. The food was fine, but nothing spectacular. We had ribs and steaks. The waitress was nice enough. However, the hostess' poor attitude has assured we won't be returning. I understand that you are busy, but don't scold your customer for politely asking a question. However, she was yelling at the other girls for not seating the guests quickly enough for her taste as she yelled out party and table numbers, so I'm guessing this is nothing new. We visited Buckhead Mountain Grill for the first time in 4 years. What a surprise how things have changed! The portions were small and for the price you pay it is not worth the money. There are too many other restaurants that are better for the price point in the Cincinnati area. The service was good. The view is good but if you are looking for a good meal, I would try somewhere else. read more

Management here is seriously lacking, along with any motivation from staff. As soon as we walked in 4+ people were standing at the hostess stand along with a manager, why are there so many people standing around?? After we go seated outside (which is the only pro for this place) our waiter , Matt, introduced himself and then proceeded to say how he didn't want to be at work, I understand it's a holiday but at the same time you pick the job that you work so deal with it. From that point on everything went down hill, so unprofessional to introduce yourself to a table that way. Everything here has to be frozen besides the salads, frozen wings, frozen meat etc. save yourself some time and money and go somewhere else! read more

The view was the only thing I liked. I was looking forward to this restaurant with the work staff. We all placed our order. I ordered the same thing as my co-worker, a chicken salad sandwich with a side salad. I asked for ranch dressing. When the order finally came, everyone got the orders, a chicken salad was brought with a side of chili. Don't get me wrong, mistakes happen. But when the server abruptly came to me with a menu in her hand and said, as she is pointing at the menu "you ordered the chicken salad, this is what you pointed to!", ok, I felt like I was in the principle's office about to get 50 demerits. She got the order wrong because she brought out chili which was never ordered. Without all the drama, just take my order again. Just admit you got it wrong. Actually, I was not even looking for that. Let me start off by saying the look of this restaurant is beautiful. It has an amazing river view that is great during lunch hours and sundown. However, the food is okay, if even that. My fiancé liked his hot brown, but didn't much care for his side of Mac and cheese. We ordered fried green tomatoes as a starter, which I was very excited about.. Come to find out they had absolutely no seasoning. The menu does say bread crumbs but that is literally all there is. I then got my salad and meh. I could've made it at home and saved a ton of money. It was really pricy for what we got, not to mention it was served in very cheap, plastic containers. I'm not sure why this place looks like it's going to be upscale, charges like its upscale, and doesn't follow through with the food. Went here with a party of 8. Made reservations and arrived on time, yet still had to wait an additional 30 minutes for our table. The waiter was prompt at first but disappeared for the rest of the meal after we received our drinks. Most of our drink cups remained empty the rest of the meal. Half of our party was dissatisfied with their meal, with steaks either cooked too well or too rare. My gyro featured a pita that was as stale as a rock, with overdone steak. This restaurant is on the levy with all the business you would expect. I am not really a fan a places that have TVs every where you look unless your in a bar. This sit down place is more likely to be a bar and grill that you can ignore your wife and watch the game while she rambles on about whatever your not listing anyway you are trying to read the close captioning on the tv that across your wife's shoulder. The food wasn't any thing to write home about. The last time I was here I tried the chicken and dumplings special. Let me tell you, it wasn't so special. Another attempt at a classic dish that was bland and didn't eve taste like chicken. The meat in the dish was very pasty and had little flavor. I will say this, if you are looking for a place that has large plates and gives you loads of food, this is the place. More food than I could possibly eat. My friends and I stopped by Friday night at 9pm. I ordered a Chicken Salad sandwich and when the waitress brought it out, she pointed out that the bread was burnt. She set it in front of me and I said that I did not want a burnt sandwich and sent it back. The waitress said there was not a lot of kitchen help on Friday night. She came back 5 minutes later with the same bread, except the chef turned it over so the burnt part was on the bottom of the sandwich. The waitress forgot part of my friends meal and both of their vegetables were cold. After she served us, she did not return except to give us the checks. This is my second poor experience at Buckhead.....great views but the service is poor and the food is unacceptable. read more

We had 13 adults and 8 kids and 2 babies in our party. We had the best servers and our food was served hot and quickly. Our glasses and cups were never empty. We also received separate checks which is a plus with a party that big. The Sunday buffet was awesome as was the fish, hamburgers, pot pies and we had generous portions. Everyone in our party loved the food. I talked on the phone with the manager (I think his name was dwayne) the day before we were to eat at Buckheads and he was very pleasant and helpful helping me reserve tables for our party. Went for Fathers Day buffet. Signage on tables and wait staff were unaware that the buffet hours had been changed from 10am -1pm vs. the normal 10am - 2 pm. So there were a lot of surprised buffet customers who went back to find the food gone. I talked to the manager and he said an email went out with the 10am - 1pm hours listed, so like every customer is supposed to get an email. Very poorly executed by restaurant management. read more

I had eaten at Buckhead before and was excited about returning. Unfortunately, it was not as good as I remembered. While the view is nice, it does not make up for an unappetizing meal. I ordered a ribeye steak and was very disappointed. I ordered it medium well and it was overcooked - no pink at all - and it was not very tender or tasty. I do not recommend it. What I didn't eat I brought home for my dog who I knew would appreciate it though I didn't . Also, their menu seemed to be smaller than I remember. I do not plan to return as there are so many more restaurants from which to choose. Without the nice view and decor of a lodge, I would have given this a two star rating. read more

Food is mediocre at best and way over priced. Service is horrible every time I go there with one exception a while back when I sat at the bar. I ordered chicken strips and when I took a bite I tasted fish very strongly. I hate fish. I let my server know and asked if I could have some made in a fryer that wasn't used for fish. After lying to me and telling me they weren't cooked in the same fryer she reluctantly took my plate to the back. About 15 minutes later my new strips came back out. I told the orrson who brought the strips out that my whole plate was taken and I needed new sides too. All that person said was I will tell your server. Another 10 minutes went by before my server came back with my sides. I asked for a to go box because everyone else was finished eating a long time ago. She gave me the box and the check and seemed angry when my friend told her we needed seperate checks. Never once did the manager get off her ass to even pretend that she cared how bad my experience was. I asked my server what her name was and she said Angela. ( I remember the name because its the same as my friends who was with me) I will not give this place another chance. I have been there maybe 5 times total and never once left happy. Twice I left there without major complaint, but the other times were just plain awful. Such a shame because the location is amazing. read more

This was our third visit to to Buckhead and it was disappointing. We arrived for a late lunch around 3:00p on a Saturday. It was fairly busy. They had changed the menu since we were there last in the previous November. No more steak sandwich, boo! The women's restroom was dark and dirty. We were seated in a booth outside the bar area where there was a glass partition. Between the glass and the shelf behind which was visible from our table it was filthy. Not appetizing to look at. the menu has been taken a huge step backwards with the amount of food they offer. With that said you would think that they could get what little they do prepare done correctly. My wife and I ordered food, she ordered chicken and I ordered the sirloin steak well done as I always do. When the food came out, the steak was cooked properly but her chicken wasn't cooked, as matter of fact it was raw. Leads me to the question, how can a well done steak be correct but chicken not even cooked. I was not happy with Buckhead's! My service was awful. We didn't get a refill the whole hour and half we were there, even though we asked multiple times. I got the cheeseburger which is $7.99, substituted my side for a salad for $2.50 and got a kids meal which is $4.99. My total bill was $20.67 which doesn't add up at all. When I asked the server why, she had no idea why it was that much and insisted that it was right. The food we got wasn't even that good and it was cold. I went ahead and paid the $20.67 but I am sure I will not be back to that place for awhile. I was so mad, it was awful! read more
