Me and my husband have totally different tastes so we always hate having to spend so much money just to get the sides we want when the price is meant for them to be shared. Customer service was disappointing and it takes them forever to prepare the meal once the order is placed. I didn't think much of it the first time. However, my second experience solidified my discontent with this place. I called ahead to place a pick up order. I live 5 minutes away. I was told it would take 20 minutes. I arrived 15 minutes later and still had to wait ANOTHER 20 minutes for my order. This was a weekday and when I arrived the bar had maybe 6 people and the dining area had seated four tables. On 08/03/2022, my wife and I brought our cousins here to celebrate their 50th anniversary. The food and service were excellent. Our waiter was Sean. HOWEVER, during the reservation process, I was asked at least twice if there was a celebration and if so what type. I indicated on both occasions that it was an anniversary. I just assumed that when I was asked about the occasion that this occasion would somehow be acknowledged. It wasn't. (Happy anniversary). I heard the waiter at the table next to ours wish the celebrants a happy anniversary. Also, based on other reviews on this site, I noticed that a dessert was given to the celebrants as a memento. We had a birthday dinner here and the ratings are in. Me:7 Wife:8 Uncle:8 Ms. Pat:9, Big(older) Sis:8-9 Bro: 8. Entree selections were Rib Eye's, Filet Mignon, Lobster Tail and Salmon. All of these were good and cooked to order. The waiter took pains to ensure that we were speaking the same language. They rib steaks were nicely trimmed without to much edge fat. Their 14 OZ was an off the bone cut so it's plenty of meat for just about anyone. There were a couple of starch choices. I had the Potato hash, which was OK but needed something to make it more special. There were a couple of baked potatoes that were well appreciated. Then there was a "Sponge Bread" i think it was called. I didn't hear too much feedback on this so I assume it was al least OK. We started the meal with a splattering of appetizers. Fried Calamari, little rubbery and crispness of the batter was gone. Shrimp Cocktail, good size cold firm shrimp, clear this was not previously frozen,. Escargot, the protein was good but the butter sauce needed more garlic, and usually see this with clarified butter. This butter sauce was more cloudy. Upside, if you like to dip your toast points in the butter sauce, you could use a whole loaf with the amount they give you. My Choice for dessert was to split a sorbet dish with the bride. But as this was a birthday thing. They brought use slices of Key lime Pie with candles. That pie was awesome. Some of the best I've tasted this side of the Florida keys. The shopping center it's located in is a little rough looking and the drop ceiling tiles lacked ambiance, but the food was delicious and the wine selection was terrific. The service was spectacular. We ordered the escargot as an appetizer. I'm very "meh" about this appetizer. Yes it's very daring to order, but all you're tasting is the butter and the garlic that it's swimming in. As for my entrée, I had the bone-in rib-eye. I REALLY like the fact that they have rare, medium rare, MEDIUM RARE PLUS, medium, medium-well, and well done. I love my steaks MEDIUM RARE PLUS, and this place actually has it as one of their choices. The rib-eye was great. What you would expect from a high-end steak house. Although, the steak got cold fairly quickly. If they brought it out on a warm plate, then I think I would've given this place a 4-star. My girlfriend had the filet with crab meat on top which was great as well. The sauce is fantastic. For desert we had the bread pudding and the crème brûlée. YUM. Buckheads is by far one of the best steakhouses I've had the pleasure of dining at- and its made all the more impressive by the fact that it's local- not a chain. We called at the last minute on a Friday night, and got a table for two within an hour of our call. We were seated promptly, and the dim ambiance was very romantic and riche. They didn't even blink at the fact that we were there in pretty casual attire... The waitstaff is very professional- our waiter was very personable, helpful, funny, and warm. He made us feel like it was a pleasure to serve us. He even went out of his way to offer us the steak au poivre in a smaller size than what was on the menu, when we mentioned we weren't terribly hungry. We ordered the steak au poivre (Regular size) and it was awesome- moist and flavorful and very tender. It was an 11 oz portion, so even though it was an expensive steak you felt like you got your money's worth. We also go the bone-in ribeye, which was so tasty, perfectly cooked, and big enough that we took half of it home for another meal. But the surprise show-stoppers in the meal were the veggies and potatoes- my husband got the potato cake, which was like an upmarket version of a hash brown casserole- rich and crusty with onions and big meaty pieces of potato... while I had the mashed potatoes that were on special- filled with Gruyère cheese and thyme- they were lighter than the potato cake, not overly cheesy but perfectly flavored, and irresistible. I don't even really like mashed potatoes, but I finished them all... The veggies were a mix of fresh veggies, like broccolini, whole baby carrots, onions and thin strips of peppers... they were sauteed in butter and oil, and came out mouth-wateringly good. Usually veggies at steak houses are undercooked, or flavorless... but these could have been put over pasta and been a meal all on their own. And because were were being total gluttons, we ordered dessert- a huge wedge of vanilla bean cheesecake that was lighter and creamier than most cheesecakes (could it have been freshly made????) and a slice of pecan bourbon pie- also lighter than I expected, with a richer bourbon flavor, a barely there crust, and an almost pudding-like consistency. I missed the layer of molasses-y goodness that most pecan pies have, but it didn't stop me from devouring the whole thing. The best part about our meal was the price- we were so surprised to find that it came in cheaper than our last trips to Bookbinders AND Texas De Brazil! Its still not cheap, but not nearly as bad as we thought it would be. We're devoted fans. read more

Great selection of steaks, chops, lamb and seafood. Huge sides like the Hondos, Bookbinders, etc. If you like single malt scotch, bring your wallet, but they have a great selection and for around $20 you can try a 18 year. Still better than $100 @ the ABC store and you don't like it. Bread puddin and key lime are excellent and if you get the filet, order it Oscar style. We were started with bread (and there was plenty of it). When it arrived at the table, it was warm, so that was nice. My party ordered crab cakes, rib eye, and a small filet. Ordered a bottle of wine from their very extensive list. The food was very good, crab cakes were pretty much all big chunks of crab meat and no filler. The rib eye looked good and I had a bite of the filet, which was melt in your mouth. The potato cake was different, but I was pleased with my choice to get it as my potato option. The vegetables were sliced carrots and string beans, which were cooked and flavored very nicely. Ended up getting tiramisu, bread pudding, and creme brulee for dessert. I really, really liked the bread pudding, and it's probably because of the type of bread that was used. Service started very strong and then we had a hard time locating our waiter at the end to get the check. A waiter at a nearby table was also very loud while he was explaining the menu, overly loud really. Overall, a very good dinner. Pretty darn good meal, only reason they're missing a star from me is that it's all a little too safe for me. I ordered the 8 oz filet and it was wonderfully cooked, came with a choice of potato (I picked their "famous" potato cake) and veggies. This night I order the Rack-of-Lamb, cooked perfectly. The sauce added a little zing. I went to Buckheads for a Christmas dinner a few nights ago. I've never been before and can't really see myself going again. I had the 20oz cowboy cut ribeye cooked medium rare, a Caesar salad, French onion soup and a baked potato. The French onion soup was beyond perfect. Perfect temperature, great base, overall this was the best part of the meal. The salad was nothing to brag about. The dressing had more of a mustardy flavor than anchovy which was odd but didn't ruin the meal. The baked potato was cooked. It's really hard to mess up a baked potato. So this was fine too. The ribeye came out a perfect medium rare. It was basically just a quick sear on both sides with no grill marks due to my request of internal temperature. My gripe is that there was so much fat. I understand ribeyes are fatty but this was borderline gross. My coworker had a great cut and didn't complain at all. But he was even taken aback by my cut. The $7 Cabernet Sauvignon is really good! The orders were: Small filet prepared medium well, along with sautéed vegetables and a baked potato. You pull up and see a strip mall and think, "what is this place about?!?". Then you get inside, grab a drink at the bar, and the staff takes you on a magic carpet ride for a fine dinning experience. So after having my favorite food, New York strip, at a popular Richmond steakhouse, I can't argue that the steak here is tremendous. It was also a pretty sizable portion, so I was able to take it home and enjoy two meals out of it. Even the side veggies, the asparagus, were seasoned to perfection. My dad also had a cut of beef, which he loved (but he didn't like it so much with the lump crab meat on top...maybe only try if you've had it before), and my mom had the crab-something, which she seemed to feel only lukewarm about. Our waiter was wonderful, and the atmosphere was classy and quiet, located on the edge of a strip mall. What is keeping me from a 5-star review here is twofold: 1) My mother didn't like her crabby-what-have-you, and my dad didn't like the crab meat lumped onto his steak. When at this steakhouse, it seems as though you're best to stick with their specialty. 2) Like I said, NY strip is my favorite, favorite meal. What I can't seem to detect is the difference between a delicious $25 - 30 steak (which I've had on many occasions), and the delicious $45 steak I had here. Maybe the subtleties that justify such a price hike at places like Buckhead's are beyond me, but I wonder if these steaks are THAT much better than their more reasonably priced counterparts. We recently returned from NYC and were lucky to have been to 2 outstanding Steakhouses. Buckheads ranks right there with them both!! Ambience is nice, the bar is beautiful with great drinks for us. Our server was knowledgeable and had a few suggestions as every Steakhouse is different on service or what may come with The entrees. Steak was cooked perfect! Side were plenty ! And the App I ordered was a Fried Oyster plate that came with ramps and other items that were savory in nature, Very fresh and delicious! Dessert was the bourbon bread pudding, ( I tasted and it was great, and the lemon curd cheesecake was spot on with a Blackberry/Blueberry sauce!! Def recommend!! read more

Hidden in a strip mall (what are we in Dallas?) this little steakhouse has a wine list that far surpasses the quality of food they serve. The last ribeye I ordered for $35 was about half an inch thick at best, and totally charred. I'm not one to send food back, but this was not edible. The salad and sides are all good quality, but not great by any means. Now, to the good stuff... somehow, a while back, Buckhead's came into a private cellar of wine. They have hundreds of bottles on their list, and quite often, they are out of the one you want... but there's always something comparable to pick and the staff is very helpful in that field. Plenty of blockbuster vintages are on the menu... 1994-1997 California cabs from the typical (Caymus, Silver Oak, Berringer) and a great deal of French and Italian wines. Decent Aussie selection and some odds and ends to round things off. In summary, Morton's and Ruth's Chris will blow away this place for food. Make sure to look for the Beverly Hills shopping center when approaching as you can easily miss it driving in. Upon arrival you will go by a shopping center and AC Moore and the restaurant is on the very end. Upon arrival I was greeted by the front desk and asked if I wanted to sit as I had made a reservation on open table. As you walk in there is a bar where you can wait for your party. The place has dark wood on the walls and feels inviting. We had the portobello mushrooms with onion rings and they were really good as an appetizer. For entrees I had the filet and my friend had the New York strip. Both were very good. Mine was a little too red on the inside but still had a great taste as I did order medium plus. After dinner we both ordered the pecan pie and I highly recommend as it was one of the best I've had in a while. Good value meal as you get the salad and vegetables with your steak unlike some other venues. Would recommend, service was good and had a half decent beer selection. We went to Buckheads after receiving a gift card there. We had never heard of them before but the reviews were positive! There were definite highs and lows to the experience. Some things were fantastic, others not what I expect from a fancy, expensive steakhouse. What was mediocre was mediocre, but what was good DAMN was it good. Mediocre: It was very dark and drab in the restaurant to start. There was a lengthy wait in between courses considering how empty the restaurant was. I felt the waiter could have been more attentive. My extra side was forgotten and then took so long to be made that it didn't come until the end of the meal (waiter took it off the bill). The crab cakes were crab cakes, the veggies were veggies, the salad was salad, the potatoes were potatoes. Creme brulee was meh. Sides are pricey. DAMN good: what you came there for.... the STEAK. I got Steak au poive (?)- filet mignon crusted in black pepper with a vermouth glaze. BEST STEAK EVER. We went over a month ago and I still dream about it, that kind of steak. My creamed spinach (that had to be taken off the bill since it didn't come until the end of the meal) ended up being worth the wait- AMAZING. Considering how much food we got, I actually think it was a fairly priced meal (an appetizer, two salads, bread, two steaks, two alcoholic beverages, and dessert for $140). Went earlier this week to celebrate anniversary with my wife and made reservations through open table. First the good. The food, ie, steaks and sides were excellent and perfectly cooked. The wait staff was highly professional and not fussy, ie he didn't come over every five minutes 'checking on us' he was courteous and timely coming to the table. Now, what could be better. I thought the host was amateur at best. Felt like I was being seated at Applebee's by my 16 year old niece. I know this is nit picking, I told the host I didn't like the table (worst table in restaurant). He should at least checked. Also should have offered to take my wife's jacket, welcomed us and presented the wine list and menus not just throwing in a stack on the table, and introduced who are server is for the evening I know this might sound as be nits, but As one who had eaten at fine restaurants all over, and although the food is the most important and the wait staff service is important as well. Ordered Steak Au Poivre, waiter made a mistake and ordered a plain filet and tried to get me to take it without the peppercorn crust- overall waited 50 minutes for our food. The waiter brought us an appetizer however we were allergic to its incredients The waiter brought us a dessert- app and dessert were comp'd. While we appreciated the waiters attempt at rectifying the issue, no manager visited our table as one would have thought. We also arrived 20 minutes early, purposely, with the intention of getting a drink. We were told they would get us when our table was ready. 45 minutes later we asked about our table with a response of, oh, we didn't want to interrupt you, we didn't think you were ready. The staff was very professional and attentive and the owner came by several times, including once to provide some in depth steak prep/ cooking method guidance, at our request. The salad was crisp with the correct balance of greens to dressing, and my NY Strip was cooked exactly as I had hoped. My husband and I took our son to Buckhead's the day after Thanksgiving to celebrate with him before he left to return to London. We are African American. Although the restaurant was 90% empty when we arrived at 5:30 p.m., AND we had reservations, we were led past all the tables in the main dining area and seated in a narrow dark corner in the back directly across from the entry to the kitchen.
