I wanted to like this place, but overall it was a letdown. Paying $18 for a very small pastrami sandwich--without even a drink--just didn't feel justified. While the flavor was decent, it definitely didn't match the price point. We also tried the turkey sandwich, which was underwhelming and lacked the flavor we were hoping for. It felt like more attention went into the restaurant's aesthetic than the food itself. On a positive note, the customer service was great and the decor is fun and well done. Unfortunately, that's not enough to bring me back. For the price, I expected much better quality and portion sizes. read more

I've visited this location several times over the years, but unfortunately I've noticed a decline in overall quality and organization. The kitchen area often appears quite cluttered, with food occasionally on the floor, which raises concerns about both cleanliness and employee safety--especially since some staff appear to be wearing sandals without non-slip mats in place. I've also noticed inconsistency with glove use; some employees wear gloves while others do not, so it's unclear what the food safety policies are. Typically, there seem to be about three employees working at a time--one at the register, one preparing sandwiches, and another rotating between stocking, refilling, slicing ingredients, and assisting with food prep. During busy periods, the sandwich station appears rushed and disorganized. I've also observed that the slicer is not always wiped down between different food items, which could be a concern for cross-contamination. The dining area generally looks clean, although tables can sometimes take a while to be wiped down, even during slower periods. The restrooms are acceptable but fairly basic. The staff seem to be doing their best under the circumstances, but improved organization and stronger oversight from management could help create a safer and more efficient environment for both employees and customers. read more

After shopping at the outlets, feeling a little hungry, stopped in for a salad and cool drink. This place is under new ownership and has that "beach vibe" Clean and welcoming. I was surprised there is a BAR inside serving beer and wine. Today, I had the Super Salad and water. Did not take a good food photo, but the presentation was pretty rows of veggies, quinoa and eddame with dressing on the side. Definatly coming back. read more

Enjoyed the Santa Cruz sandwich. It was fresh, flavorful and plentiful. Had a regular. Took half home for later. The service was friendly and quick. Like the Hawaiian/islander decor and upbeat music. TV(s) to watch game. Have a pretty good selection of beers. read more

2 stars. One for the food. One for surviving the encounter. Let's start with the food: edible. That's it. Not good, not bad--just there, like a soggy participant in a group project doing the bare minimum. Now the cashier? Oh boy. Imagine ordering food from a Magic 8-Ball that's been dropped on its head. That's who took my order. I told her what I wanted. She blinked. I told her again. She blinked harder. By the third time, I started wondering if I was having a stroke. By the fourth time, I was ready to carve the order into a stone tablet and slam it on the counter like Moses with a DoorDash problem. She still didn't get it. Stared at me like I'd asked her to translate ancient Sumerian while juggling flaming chainsaws. I've seen more processing power in a microwave that's unplugged. This place doesn't need better training. It needs an exorcist. Will I be back? Only if I lose a bet or wake up in purgatory. Just a short stint from I-80, plenty of parking. I went for a quick sandwich for lunch on the road and was greeted by two very enthusiastic and friendly young women who quickly took my order and got me back out the door (in a good way). They steep their iced tea, have ample choices for fountain drinks and chips, and the place was clean. They also bring the food to your table when you order at the counter and then dine in. The sandwich comes with the usual (shredded lettuce, tomato, onion, mayo/mustard, including pepperoncini!). For less than $12, I was able to get their smallest sandwich (about 6"), chips, and a drink - quite the deal! Next time, I'll look deeper at the bread selection. They served mine on the standard French roll, which was a little lackluster, but it held the goods, so I couldn't complain. read more

No friendly welcome when I entered. One customer was picking up his food. Then a few men walked in. I thought maybe they were celebrities the way they were greeted and welcomed in and were immediately asked if they could take their order. I said to myself maybe it's her father and his friends until the one gentleman said what did she recommend because they never ate there. I had to pinch myself. I began to think I was invisible. I walked out. Not sure why the city of Vacaville don't have great sandwich restaurants or if my timing is off and I just got bad luck. Yet I think the name "Beach..." speaks for itself. Originally loved this place. Today, I ordered the Santa Barbara (swapped cream cheese for cheddar and spinach for lettuce). When the sandwich came out, it had 1 measly strip of bacon on it- a sandwich advertised with bacon as the meat should without a doubt have several strips of bacon! It was overstuffed with shredded lettuce rather than proportionately applied (to compensate for the lack of bacon I'm sure). Not sure if the bread changed either because this visit it was so doughy it stuck to my teeth. Made me glad I swapped the cheese because the cream cheese would have been an even soggier mess with the bread. Additionally- there's now a code to enter the restroom. Was told knock and then enter the code, but was failed to be told to press "c" prior. That means when you're in the restroom, anyone with the code can just come in? No one should have to knock nor should the person using the restroom have to listen for a knock, and reply, especially if it's busy and loud with music playing. Will not be returning. read more

My son approves! My little son and I stopped here to pick up some sandwiches for the park today. I got him the peanut butter and jelly sandwich which had chunky peanut butter. He's never had chunky peanut butter, but he loves it now! I picked up the "Hobie". Now the main reason for this review is mostly about the customer service. The owner and management team should be very proud of how welcoming and sweet the employees are. They talked to my son and made him special and gave him a sticker and he was happy. Almost to the point where he wanted to stay and eat there but I told him we were going to the park. The food is really good by the way. My Hobie was top notch. The Italian dressing really made this sandwich amazing. We (meaning my son and I) will be back. And next time eat there like he wanted to do. I can't wait to try other things here. read more

I've drive. Past this place and wanted to find a good sandwich place. I walked in this evening with my kids and the girl working turned to us and said she was too busy and was the only person working and had to turn us away. I was baffled...speechless. We walked across the parking lot to Chilis and when we walked by 45 min later there was a line and people weren't being turned away. It left a sour taste in my mouth to say the least. read more

The beet salad was also delicious, and major appreciation to the kitchen for thoughtfully splitting it into four equal plates for sharing. Small touch, big hospitality points. The lemon ricotta pancake was the one slight miss for me. The powdered sugar ended up being the main character, overpowering some of the balance and richness I was hoping for. The fish tacos, however, completely redeemed things. Flavorful, fresh, and made even better by our incredibly thoughtful waitress, who had the kitchen prepare four tacos for sharing instead of the usual three. Those little gestures really elevate the experience. But the true standout of the meal? The Back Door Berry Bramble. Pure bliss in a glass. Made with seasonal local fruit purée, lime, grapefruit, orange liqueur, and vodka, this cocktail absolutely knocked it out of the park -- bright, refreshing!!!

Yeah that nice. It was served hot and nicely cut. And even better, it tasted as good as it looked! I was pleasently surprised. Better than I thought. Bread was soft and fresh. I got there around 6:30 AM and was honestly so impressed. First of all -- they actually had the milk! But what really surprised me was everything else they already had fully stocked and ready that early in the morning. They had a pasta bar, salad bar, breakfast bar, deli items, and beautiful cakes all ready to go. The cakes I've tried from there are AMAZING! And that's not even including the rest of the grocery store itself. Everything looked fresh, organized, and high quality. The whole experience made me realize I seriously need to start grocery shopping here more often. Definitely worth the visit and highly recommend stopping by if you haven't before!

From entering the restaurant we were promptly greeted from the friendliest staff. We asked for outdoor seating in the little patio area to soak up some sun. Our waiter Austin promptly came to our table and suggested a few beers. Since I couldn't decide, I went for a flight to try a few. One of my favs was a sour too bad I can't remember the name. We got the Asian fries as an appetizer and they were delish ! Perfect crisp and toppings. We'll def be back when in the area. Great service from Austin ! Always checking up on us to see if we needed anything and enjoyed the small talk.
