We first discovered this place about a year ago and, tbh, we were not immediately impressed... mostly because we ordered the wrong things, I think... But... The service was incredible. One of us ordered a salad and she did not like the dressing it came with. One of the employees (Willis) overheard her mention it and was Johnny on the spot offering to remake the salad with a different dressing. Months passed and we went back. I immediately noticed how friendly the staff was. Like crazy friendly. Like... maybe they even enjoy their jobs friendly (in food service that is pretty rare). This time Jerry took our order. Super friendly and interactive. I mentioned that he seemed really happy. He informed us that one of his favorite artists was dropping a new album that night and couldn't wait to hear it. We went back a few days later and Jerry was there again. I asked him how he liked the album and then we got into a discussion of music. We discovered we had very similar interests. Anyway, we are now very regular customers. I have met Jerry, Willis, one of their new hires, Miah, and their new Manager, Travis. Every time I go in, if I meet someone new, they are just as friendly as everyone else. I am slowly getting to know them all. Also, I now have my favorites. The Almost Fried Chicken is really good as well as the Chicken Parm. If you are looking for a place with a positive atmosphere and good eats, be sure to put this on your list. I just want to add that I've now been there several times since writing this review and every time, without fail, the interactions have been unbelievably positive. It is SO obvious that they care about their customers. There are people I forgot to mention, also, so wanted to add extra shout-outs to Sierra, one of the managers, who obviously knows how to treat her employees and her customers. And I recently met Brae Lynn who seems to have been a fantastic addition. It's gotten to the point where I'd almost rather eat there than eat at home. In short, if you've had a bad day, head on over to Mendocino Farms and get a shot of positivity. I'm pretty sure that's free. The food is a bonus! We ordered delivery last weekend and had a really great experience. The food arrived in about 30 minutes, which was faster than expected. The salads were fresh and really good, and we tried a few different sandwiches that were all very tasty and flavorful. Everything tasted fresh and well made. We came here yesterday for lunch, it was absolutely beautiful outside which made it a perfect day to sit on the patio. The line was a bit crazy inside it took about 15 minutes to get through it, and then another 20 minutes for food to arrive. So if you're looking for quick... this was not it. However, the staff was friendly and upbeat and the food was delicious! I had the seasonal GOAT with sweet citrus... it is probably my favorite salad. This is the second time this week that we have been to Mendocino Farms. They were well staffed today for dinner around 7pm. Our order was taken by Willis who was very nice and happy. He moved all around the restaurant from taking orders, delivering food and cleaning tables. Other staff during free time went around from table to table asking if things were good, clearing trays and asking if people need boxes. My Thai Mango salad had old partly rotting lettuce. I couldn't see much cilantro. I tried to fish around for fresh greens but only the spinach leaves were edible. I've been to this location of Mendocino Farms a few times now, and it's honestly one of my favorite spots for salads. The food is always consistently fresh, fantastic, and healthy--you really can't go wrong with their menu. Great road trip food! However, I'm knocking off a star for my most recent experience. I had ordered a vegan banh mi, avocado and quinoa superfood ensalada, and the basil pesto shells. The vegan banh mi was interesting. Not atypical of the flavors you'd expect, tho a decent sandwich. The chunks of tofu felt a bit clunky though and definitely wanted more of the pickled veggies. The pesto shells had good balance between the herbs and the pasta making for good bites between things. Mendocino farms is delicious! I first tried their sandwiches during a catered event that I attended and it was delicious! I met up with a friend for lunch here and it was very busy! I ordered the not so fried chicken sandwich and it was delicious! It was saucy and came with extra dipping sauce of your choice if you wanted more flavor. The sandwich had crispy, crunchy pieces in it that gave it a nice crunch without it being soggy. They have a drink fountain, a pick up area for to go orders, outdoor seating for nice weather days. I randomly asked a stranger if there were any salad spots nearby, and she recommended Mendocino Farms. Since I've been eating way too much junk food lately, I wanted something healthy today. I went with the first salad on the menu because the cashier said it's their most popular...and wow, I'm so glad I did! It was absolutely delicious and plated beautifully (see my photo). The portion size was perfect too...super fresh, clean ingredients and very filling. I thought I'd still be hungry after just a salad, but nope. I was unbelievably excited to see that Mendocino Farms opened a location in Vacaville. I tried it for the first time on a trip to LA last year and have been craving it since. The food is phenomenal and there are a good number of vegan options. Uber Eats currently has a buy one, get one free deal for the Avocado & Quinoa Superfood Ensalada, so I ordered two of those along with the Vegetarian Pesto Caprese, Spicy Curried Couscous, Basil Pesto Shells, and Pickles & Dill Potato Salad. Unsurprisingly, the food was amazing; fresh, full of flavor, and incredibly nutritious. It was my mom's first time trying food from Mendocino Farms, and she could not believe how good the food was. After ten minutes of eating while smiling, nodding in approval, and thanking me, she said, "Vacaville needed this. I needed this." And honestly, no truer words have ever been spoken. She said it was the perfect balance of sweet, savory, and crunchy, and found it incredibly satisfying. I went for the Chimichurri Steak & Bacon Sandwich and... just wow. The steak was cooked perfectly, the chimichurri sauce was zesty and herbaceous, and the bacon added that smoky, salty crunch that took it over the top. It was pure deliciousness in every bite. Place was crackin' today! Pretty warm out and they kept the front doors open nonetheless. Line to the door never shortened. People just kept showing up. Food- pretty good. They have all of the cool people labels (vegan, gluten free, vegetarian, etc.) so people can stop complaining about not having anything they can eat. Service was odd but it worked. You order at the counter. Everything. Then you go get a beverage if you'd like. They have water and a number of juices. A black tea and a bunch of lemonades. Then you go sit down and scan the QR code on your table. It takes you to a website and you type in your receipt number. Luckily the cashier underlined it because it's not really evident which number on the tape of numbers it is. Ambiance- your basic cafeteria. High ceilings and open seating. Nothing intimate. At all. The gluten free bread looked sliced and it was "wonderful" as it had been "toasted on a designated gluten free toaster." There were pickup shelves for food pickup for mobile orders and Uber Eats-esque (delivery) meals. One minor gripe- the beverage lids did not secure. I hope it was just my cup. It just didn't fit. The lid would pop off each time I picked the cup up off of the table. Nice to try it. Not really sure I'd ever pick it out and say "ooh, that's what I want" though. Was a sandwich. Potato salad was very decent. Saw green salads as well. "Housemade beverage" was $3.75, avocado was $2.10 extra. Peruvian steak sandwich was reasonably spicy. The food was very good, service was outstanding, and the ambiance was chill. Mendocino just opened a new restaurant and I had to go check it out to see if it hits like it does in Los Angeles. I ordered the Mango Thai salad, Chicken panini, and macaroni salad. The Mango Thai Salad was delicious! Shaved chicken, sliced mango, ramen noodles (in the salad is both creative and tasty), shaved and chopped almonds with a flavorful vinaigrette made this salad my new favorite. The Chicken Panini was also very good with lots of flavor. The macaroni salad was very good as well, which is impressive since it's hard to find good macaroni salad. The Pomegranate Mint lemonade was so good I think I had about 3 cups on the refill. I think they streamlined their menu, I remember a lot more items than what they have now. I was excited to learn that a location was opening near me and couldn't wait to try it out. I've been to their location in the SD area, so I was familiar with their food. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed in my experience at the vacaville location. I'm sure some of the issues are because they're new and just getting into the swing of things, but there are certainly some restaurant 101s that I definitely shouldn't have seen. I'll start off by saying the restaurant was clean and the staff was super friendly. The staff looked busy and were hustling around, making sure people were getting their orders. I think they were moving so fast that they weren't changing their gloves after picking up something off the floor that had dropped in the kitchen. I also watched another staff member handle trash with their gloved hands only to handle food shortly thereafter without changing their gloves or washing their hands. I checked my order only to see my sandwich looked like it was thrown together. I was kinda surprised of the size of the small deli salad that came with my combo. Although the cashier initially had some trouble with the register, she quickly moved us to another one and was very apologetic throughout. She really did her best, and I appreciate her efforts--kudos to her! As a plant-based couple, we were delighted to see vegan options on the menu. We ordered the Impossible Taco Salad and the Vegan Banh Mi, both of which were delicious. The salad portion was especially generous. With a $5 discount code, our lunch came to under $25 for the two of us--a great deal! First time stopping in so I review this with fresh eyes. It replaced the Noodle and Co. location in Vacaville and is right next to the LoveSac store. Nice place to try while you're in town. Just a heads up, there isn't a military discount but that's ok. You need to use a QR code at your table and enter your receipt order number so they know where to bring the food. There is also outdoor seating. Food: We ordered the Chimichurri Steak and Bacon, the 'Limited Time' Summer Heirloom BLT, and the Chicken Tortilla Soup with a side of Cabernet and can of San Pellegrino. The food was great, I'd suggest asking for a side if chimichurri sauce on the side if they have that option for the steak and Bacon. I think that would bring the sandwich over the top. The soup, if it came with a few tortilla chips on the side, it would really bring it over the top. What I loved about the soup was the fact that it wasn't basic. This was clearly made with fresh ingredients, fresh tomatoes puréed and chunks of chicken breasts. No complaints about the BLT. I used the soup as a dip for the sandwiches to soften the bread. Service: from order to table 15 minutes. The cashier was super nice and I liked that her name plate said "my favorite item" on it. It gives you a question to ask them, (I always ask what their favorite meal is). Ambiance: Very clean and bright. It looks so 'happy' inside. Loved that. Just a few issues/suggestions. They give you a few napkins per plate. But it would be nice to have a napkin station. Their order line isn't very efficient, there is one large menu board that peopled get bogged over deciding what they want and it can get really bottle-necked.
