This has to be the worst 4x4 shop in Idaho. What a sh!t show. I took my truck in for some essential work: a front and rear suspension upgrade, an internal airbag replacement. I noticed a spill stain from my gas tank when I picked up my vehicle. It was like somebody had siphoned gas, spilled it, and later, shop dust attached to the gasoline spill. I didn't think much of it at first, but after reading other reviews, I wouldn't doubt somebody siphoned gas out of my truck. Next, I noticed the truck's rear end was higher than expected. After further investigation, I find out that the tech installed the wrong front strut spacer and the truck would have to return to the shop again to install a larger spacer. Jeff, the owner, never apologized for this. I work out of my truck, and it costs me money not to have it. Then I discovered that a second airbag needed to be replaced since it was also bad. I figured this out independently since no pressure test was performed when the tech installed the new airbag. Jeff ordered another airbag, and we scheduled for my truck to be brought back in. Upon picking up my vehicle the second time, I saw the bill and noticed I'd been charged for unauthorized work. Some bolts were loose and needed to be replaced. I was charged $60 (not including labor) for four bolts and nuts that cost a few dollars. Then, I found out that only three bolts were replaced. The total cost of labor was $290. That's two hours for three bolts and one airbag, which is at least 45 mins over. When I brought up to Jeff that I didn't authorize any work outside of the airbag, that only three bolts were replaced, and $15 per nut and bolt was too much, and that I was offended that he never apologized for taking up my time, he starts shouting at me, telling me to take my keys and get the F*** out of his shop. I kept my composure and told him I would want to at least pay for the airbag cost. He says OK, pay for the airbag and get the f*** out. I told him not to talk to me like that. To which he responded f*** you. At this point, I take my keys, and they leave. Later that day, after calling Airlift, I found out that the airbags are not intended to be used for trucks with lifts since the airbag is not long enough to run the length of the extended coil spring; thereby, it cannot correctly keep the truck level. Then, I noticed one of the airbag spacers that was supposed to be reinstalled with the new airbag had not been installed. So, even if the airbags did work under load, my rear end would be uneven since it was missing a spacer. Jeff is unethical and does not care about customers or the quality of his work product. I do not recommend that anyone shop or patronize Bucks 4 x 4. If you do, you do so at your own risk. I started dealing with Jeff at bucks about a year ago. With a lot of ? He always. Had a minute to talk. I finally ordered a lift for my 89 f250. Which I choose to install my self. after I stall truck still drove a little weird. So I ordered new wheels. Which Jeff also helped me pick out. He installed them today. 37 inch Mickey Thompson If you have ever felt with a lifted truck. They are difficult to align and make drive nice with all these modifications. I want to say. My new truck. Is Bucks 4X4 trying to go out of business?? Owner, Jeff Buck just lost my business and damaged their reputation further today! Short version of my experience. They schedule me for new shocks install today and of course I had to wait a week for the appointment which is expected. I drop off my Jeep and pay the $30 Uber ride back home. Within 30 min of being home I get a call saying the owner, Jeff Buck just came in and replaced my appointment with someone else and I was told to come back and pick up my Jeep!!! How unprofessional and messed up is that??? So another $30 trip with Uber to pick it up with no apology or explanation. The guys at the counter said they were very surprised because the schedule was wide open today for my vehicle but the "Owner" just over-road the schedule and bumped my spot with someone else!!!! They were shocked as much as I was! The Owner's pet project wasn't even on the guys schedule! SO unprofessional and showed ZERO concern for his customers major inconvenience or staff who were frustrated that they had to call me with the embarrassing news. I will NEVER buy a part or schedule any work with Bucks again. In my checking around I have since learned that Bucks doesn't have a good reputation. All I know is this is exactly how you run a business into the ground. Running good customers off. Maybe Mr. Buck doesn't care about customer service any more. Well, then maybe we all shouldn't care to do business with Buck's 4x4 any more. I just removed the license plate frame that had Buck's name on it. We took our Ford Ranger to Bucks to have a new high end bed cover installed. They did not install properly and it is not functioning and we are disputing the payment. We also had upgrade suspension installed. Some issues with that as well. We were told they were great but not our experience in the first week since installed without resolution. read more

I moved to Boise 6months ago, from St Louis mo for me I drove past bucks 4x4 every day...seen a red xj real good shape, Brand New 3inch lift ..cared for well. As well as a list of fresh repairs.. Yup.. I come to find out their really the only shop In Boise really build build you some shit as long as you can fund it .have to be honest this type of stuff is costly and parts can be pricy if you really wanna crawl threw or crash threw .. .and also gonna let them have with your vehicle to properly tear you stuff down and build it and make sure everything not look good but keep you safe not broken on a trail somewheir . ..and with custom builds ever thing every one wants is doing to be completely different lots of different options for different results ..an you just cant get the least expensive stuff and then go sending sending it. And yes they buizzy ,all the time in demand people like my self will definitely go back .went back couple weeks later ..my Smitty built bumpers and a 9,500 Also took my GMC had some front end sway bar bushings. it's basic rim pictured was jacked I let some one drive it makes seince in my life.. and I come to find out they got a nice size second gargage any way they hooked me up with the four old school solids and tires had 85%tread on them ..and point I'm making .. they care and appreciate every person that walks inside that store and they are not in buissness of selling anyone a used anything to anyone..I was half expecting to get laughed at for even asking that ..I just walked in cause I didn't want to hunt around find something and not ..I asked if they might by chance anyone might have a rim or something old saying around I got this amount of money .he personally used time out his workday close to closing.. made some calls and 4 newer rims I like better then other ..and rubber good for at least a year on em and he charged me less then what I told him I was willing to pay... I've gad very bad Experience with them. Brought my jeep for four wheel alignment, when i left it was pulling really bad to the right, got rescheduled for realighment, When I came back they checked my alignment again and told me that the first time they just did my front wheels and now they check the rear wheels and the rear is off. I ordered a product online from Bucks 4x4 because I wanted to support a small business rather than feed the Amazon machine. I'll think twice next time, and here's why: Nov. 26th (Tuesday night) - I placed my order and received the immediate email receipt. Nov. 27th - Dec. 5th: - I received nothing else for over a week - 28th was Thanksgiving, so that's a freebie. Dec. 6th (Friday morning) - I contacted Bucks 4x4 asking for a status and a tracking number. - Brandon Curtiss, the General Manager responded same-day saying they'd check as soon as they were in the office on Friday morning. - I never heard back that Friday, as they indicated. (LIE 1) Dec. 8th (Sunday morning) - I emailed Brandon again on the asking for a status and tracking number again. - To my surprise, Brandon did respond again same-day stating they were busy with their 'toys for tots' event and couldn't respond to me [on Friday]. - According to their Facebook posts (six posts), the toys for tots event was held on the 7th of Dec. (Saturday), so they had all day Friday to contact me, but failed to do so. A lie covered up using a good-cause event as the excuse. (LIE 2) - Brandon also said that my package shipped from their warehouse and would get me a tracking number on the 9th of Dec. (Monday). (LIE 3...more on this later) - I received an auto-generated email from Bucks 4x4 asking me to review them on Google! Really!? Dec. 9th (Monday) and 10th (Tuesday) - I received nothing from Brandon or anyone else at Bucks 4x4 (LIE 4) Dec. 11th (Wednesday) - Brandon emailed me back stating my order should be out that day for delivery. - I still never received a tracking number. - I registered with UPS and found my own tracking number, and found the 'Shipped-on' date was 12/09/2019. Brandon implied on Sunday that my packages had already shipped on or before Sunday, but that was not true. So if my package actually comes in this week, it will have taken 2.5 - 3 weeks to get something from them that would have taken Amazon 2 days without the lies and poor customer service from Bucks 4x4. I know some small businesses and 'mom 'n' pop' shops don't partake in shenanigans like this, but when one company does this, it really makes me not want to support the others and just go to Amazon directly. Maybe it's bad timing, maybe it was in the middle of the holiday season, and a toy drive, but I think the facts speak for themselves. You decide. read more

Brought our Wrangler in for an auxiliary brake for towing behind our motorhome. I should have backed out as soon as they had no clue what I wanted. I scheduled my jeep in for install. Pre-paid fir most of it, and then when I cam back for them to install a final piece on my motorhome, they stated that since they had never done one, it took them longer than expected and I had to pay for extra labor. What?? Since I couldn't have the job completed without the extra $500 in labor, I went ahead and paid it. This was on Saturday. When I brought my motorhome in on Monday for a final hookup, the system didn't work. Ended up spending the night on a nearby parking lot. Tuesday came . . . they couldn't get it to work. Spent the night in a nearby hotel. Wednesday came and I was told they wouldn't spend any more time on it even though it didn't work. The tech finally called the manufacturer of the brake and they stated that it was not compatible with the OEM harness Bucks had charged me a total of $255 for. So they removed the harness and wired it up using a simple four wire system with a four pin connector. Guess what....IT DIDN"T work! So I was told there was nothing else they could do. I called the brake manufacturer and they walked me through how to finish hooking up the system and making the adjustments to the brake so I would not encounter devastating results on the highway. It took the rest of the day on Wednesday for ME to finish the work. I tried to get bucks to reimburse me for the harness they charged me for but couldn't use and for the added night in a hotel we had to pay for, but they kept ignoring my calls. I finally complained with the BBB and they flat denied everything and that the Jeep was road worthy when they were done and the OEM harness was installed properly. NOT THE CASE! Lies, all lies! I ended up spending more on the braking system that was never completed than I would have spent at Camping World of all places! Thieves and liars. Every one of them. Look at the photo I posted. Not only did the work they performed take far longer than quoted, but they ended up charging more than we were quoted by thousands. Posers. I guess if you want to spend a few grand on bling, they will take care of you. But I have a 13 y/o Jeep GC that has a failed hydraulic cooling fan. I found the replacement clutch fan, but would like for a professional to swap out the power steering pump to a model that doesn't have the tap-out. They refuse. Fear of lawyers, for doing exactly what I ask for. What do you call it when someone refuses to do a sensible thing ($500 repair vs. $2,000 repair) for unreasonable fear? Cowardice? Greedy? If they are afraid to do a clutch or electric fan conversion on a Jeep, then they need to change the name to "Bucks Bumper and Foglight installer". took it there cause employee told me was best in town and new to the area after hitting a deer and boulder over holidays.They had it for over a week tried to get what was wrong and they gave me a list of stuff not cosr effective to repair and then said they had an employee would like to buy for parts i was told it wad as is and I said no because i had just purchased a brand new hard top in December and i refused to include it and when they said ok without the hard top i came clean out rig and they asked to get the too after the could get it covered i said yes i once again tried and tried to get a hold of them to get my hard top back for 3 weeks and when I finally Got Will on phone he claimed top was gone the next day claiming that I came back in middle of the night and took and dodged my calls for weeks. Scott the manager when i told him i was trying to get a hold of Will and then asked if they had cameras at shop that Will said my hardtop was stolen from their shop. Scott stopped responding to my requests and Both now ignore me. They both knew that I was selling it to pay balance on my new rig. I was skeptical about doing business with these guys after reading similar reviews however I decided to give these guys a try anyways. I was coming to town on limited time frame and had discussed the issue with my truck and ordered parts a month in advance. It turned out that they cancelled my original parts order and were held my truck for 2 weeks without actually doing anything services.
