This is our favorite local teriyaki spot! We've only gotten their chicken & beef teriyaki & gyoza. This time, I decided to try their "prawn" fried rice. I thought prawns were bigger than regular shrimp but the size was small & only having 8 pieces in the rice was a disappointment. Also, it was kind of bland. So I add e a little bit of the extra teriyaki sauce they gave on the side to add some flavor. I took a star off my review because of all that. Okay, so let me just say first.. This is hands down probably one of the best Teriyaki places I have had! Just recently did I dine in for the first time and I was wow'ed. I ordered chicken teriyaki, with fried rice instead of white. Which I have come to find out some places won't give you fried rice with your meal, it has to be white. So instantly I was happy about that! They have tea and water, free for their customers btw. The only downfall and why I gave them 4 stars and not 5, is because the don't have sugar! (I love sugar in my tea.) With all that being said, my chicken was so tender, I can tell they've invested in good meats. Not like other shops where it is dry and chewy. YUCK. And they're fried rice was amazing! Gosh I wish I lived next door to them, I would be there every day! Lol, their salad and dressing also was so yummy! Great place to go! Honestly best teriyaki place in kent that I have been to! Great portions, great service, fair prices! Orders have always been ready for pickup when I come. Bucks is the best for lunch. Veggie Yaki is tasty and always super good. The young man at the front is always super friendly and even remembers the names of repeat customers. Our regular place has gone downhill and we have struggled to find a new teriyaki place. After trying 3 or 4 places that were unsatisfactory we tried Buck's. We both had the chicken and sweet and sour chicken combo. It was delicious. Good portions, well cooked and good quality chicken. Very rarely am I shocked. There is a teriyaki restaurant on every corner in Washington! Everyone seems like a copy of the next but when I saw this pop up as an option on UberEats, I was shocked! I took the chance and ordered one of the bento boxes and a Gatorade. They said it would take 25 to 35 minutes, instead it seemed like the food was prepared and picked up in 10 minutes! I was impressed. Once Uber dropped of the food I was shocked. The perfectly placed portions were in the most organized to go Bento box I've ever seen! I was so pleased with how, even after being sent by UberEats the sushi was still cold! I must admit, the shrimp was so balanced and the perfect amount of tempura crunch still. The chicken wasn't soaked in teriyaki sauce and I was soooooooo ready for the salad. This is a MUST for any hankering for teriyaki. I want to physically come check this place out soon because if they go this above and beyond with their UberEats... then they must provide one hell of an AMAZING customer service experience in their restaurant!!! read more

I really hate to review this place because the guy at the counter was amazing at customer service. His energy is really positive and you automatically feel welcomed walking in. Now... the hot chicken... yes it's fried... but it was so dry and overcooked and had a jerky texture. This is totally un editable. I question if they put batter over already cooked chicken from the "teriyaki chicken" and then refrying it. Hopefully next time will be a better experience with the food. read more

If you are ever in Kent and am craving some teriyaki, you cant go wrong with Buck's. The menu is your normal selection that you see at every teriyaki restaurant but all of the choices are very well executed. The bento box is very nice and provides a good variety for a low price and my personal favorite. Never had a bad experience when I have dined in or ordered out, food comes out fast, hot and cooked to perfection. We like the teriyaki sauce, not too sweet or too salty. chicken is tender, it is dark meat which we like. lots of rice. we get side salad that jammed full, it's iceberg lettuce with like splash of carrots. the salad sauce is good too. price decent, meal enough to spread out for a day or so. service is good and fast. call and go pick up these days. we get katsu sometimes, the stirfry mixes sometimes, some times even the bento boxes. all good but we always go back to our teriyaki! read more

I like that they have a sushi menu- more than just your average California roll you'd find at every other teriyaki joint. I opted to go with the Mongolian beef and chicken teriyaki combo. I've been eating at Bucks Teriyaki for the past 7 years and I have always thoroughly enjoyed the food and service. I've even recommended this restaurant to many of my friends and family. I decided to eat there yesterday and for the first time ever I was extremely unsatisfied with all aspects of my visit. I've ordered the exact same dish each visit for the past 7 years and have always received a salad along with the rest of the dish. I didn't receive one this time, so I figured I'd ask if the dish had changed and no longer include the salad or if they had just forgot. The worker at the front register told me that they had never given salad before for that dish. I told her about all my past visits and she proceeded to tell me I was wrong and argue with me about it. I was a bit taken back by her tone and demeanor that I became a bit frustrated with the situation. She began laughing at my frustration and dismissing what I was saying like I didn't know what I was talking about. I left frustrated and unsatisfied with a teriyaki restaurant I've loved for all these past years. It seems that the management has changed recently and the quality has gone down hill quick. I will NOT be returning. A message to the new owners of this restaurant: It's unfortunate that a simple question about salad will be the reason for the loss of future business of a long term customer, his family, and friends.
